New Day Is Coming Together For Some Special Treatment

May 11, 2021 • Admin

They’re worth another look. There are very few acts in professional wrestling who truly get over and then stay over for several years. It is even harder to pull off today when everything moves at such a fast pace, but when it happens, you can certainly feel how special it really is. That was the case with a team that split last year, but now we are getting a special look back. BOOM! Studios have announced that they will release a comic book origin story for the New Day. The first of the two issue mini series, entitled “WWE New Day: The Power Of Positivity”, will debut in July 2021 with the second issue following at some point in the future. The series will focus on all three members of the team and how they came together, following various struggles in WWE. New Day was formed in 2014, with Xavier Woods offering Kofi Kingston and Big E. inspiration following a loss. The team stayed together for only a few weeks before returning in November as the version of the team that would stick a..

Former WWE Champion Returns To In-Ring Competition

May 11, 2021 • Admin

He’s back! It’s always a special time when a former WWE Champion makes his return to in-ring competition after being away for a while. One of these instances occurred tonight on Raw. Jinder Mahal made his return to Raw, alongside his new cohorts Shanky and Veer. He would go on to defeat Jeff Hardy in his return match. You can see a clip of that below: [This post contains video, click to play] The Modern-Day Maharaja has not been seen regularly on WWE programming since June of 2020, when WWE announced that he was going to be out of action with a knee injury. He is a former WWE Champion, holding the title for 170 days during the summer and fall of 2017. Editor’s Opinion: I have always been a fan of Jinder Mahal’s and I am beyond thrilled to see him back. Not only does he appear to be in great shape, but he looked good in his return match with Hardy during the show. I doubt that he will ever have the opportunity to be WWE Champion again, but this doesn’t mean that he can’t contribut..

New Gimmick Match Announced For WrestleMania Backlash

May 11, 2021 • Admin

There’s still time for more. We are less than a week away from WrestleMania Backlash and the card still has quite a few holes to fill in. With so many things left to add to the show, it is time to start getting things rolling. That was the case during this week’s edition of Monday Night Raw when a grudge match was added, but now there is going to be a little twist. This week on Monday Night Raw, a match between Miz and Damian Priest was announced for WrestleMania Backlash. However, the match will not be a traditional one as Priest was allowed to pick the stipulation due to defeating Miz’s partner John Morrison during the show. As a result, the match will be a lumberjack match, which Priest selected due to being tired of Miz and Morrison double teaming him. These two have a history. Check out how we got here: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: The stipulation does make things a l..

BREAKING: Injury On Monday Night Raw, Match Stopped

May 11, 2021 • Admin

Please don’t be bad. Injuries are the kind of thing that can take place for any wrestler at any given time. One of the worse parts of the whole thing is wondering how long someone is going to be out of action as a result, because you never can tell just how bad something is. Unfortunately that seemed to be the case again during a match on this week’s Monday Night Raw. Humberto Carrillo was injured during a match against Sheamus during this week’s Monday Night Raw. Late in the match, Carrillo attempted a sunset bomb to Sheamus, who was on the apron at the time. Carrillo landed on the floor but Sheamus landed on his leg instead of between the legs. As a result, the referee stopped the match and awarded the win to Sheamus when it was decided that Carrillo could not continue. There is no word on what happened to Carrillo or how severe his injury might be. It might be a bit before you see him again. Check out Carrillo at full health: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post..

May 11, 2021 • Admin

Monday Night Raw Date: May 10, 2021 Location: Yuengling Center, Tampa, Florida Commentators: Adnan Virk, Corey Graves, Byron Saxton It’s the go home show for Wrestlemania Backlash and that means it is time to push the rest of the card forward in a big way. There are currently two Raw matches set for the pay per view and that means we are going to need some more stuff announced tonight. You can probably guess those matches from here and now we get to see how dull they can make the show that announces them. Let’s get to it. The opening recap looks at Bobby Lashley beating Braun Strowman and then getting Claymored by Drew McIntyre. As a result: Lashley vs. McIntyre this week. Opening sequence. Charlotte/Nia Jax/Shayna Baszler vs. Mandy Rose/Dana Brooke/Asuka Jax powers Mandy into the corner to start so Baszler can choke with the boot. Baszler grabs a standing armbar and takes Rose down without much effort. Asuka comes in and dropkicks Baszler down, with Mandy and Dana dropkicking Shay..

Here’s What To Expect From The Next NXT Takeover

May 10, 2021 • Admin

Run it again. NXT’s Takeover series has one of the best reputations in all of wrestling and that is because they have earned it. The shows have been going on for over seven years now and have been almost universally praised for everything that they have done. That is the kind of thing you do not get to see very often, but now we know where it is going to take place next. According to Fightful Select, NXT’s next TakeOver special will be another In Your House themed show and will take place on June 13. The show has yet to be announced on NXT television. NXT presented an In Your House themed Takeover last June, with Io Shirai winning the NXT Women’s Title in the main event. In Your House was a series of pay per views presented by WWE from 1995-1999. The first one worked. Check out how Takeover: In Your House went down: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: This is the kind of thing th..

Top AEW Star Open To Moving To WWE

May 10, 2021 • Admin

Keep the options open. AEW has been a game changer at the top of the wrestling world. While WWE is still the bigger promotion, AEW offers both fans and wrestlers alike another major platform. This is not something you get to see every day and it is great to have another option available. One of the top names in AEW certainly sees things that way, and understands that he has choices. During a recent interview with SteelChair Wrestling Magazine, Maxwell Jacob Friedman mentioned being open to a move to WWE, though there is nothing to suggest that he is making the jump. Friedman said that he is a businessman who is going to listen to the best offer. He also talked about his plans to win the AEW World Title, along with the rest of his Pinnacle teammates winning titles. There is no word on when Friedman’s AEW contract expires. Friedman is worth a look. Check out what he can do in the ring: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post c..

Seth Rollins Offers Sweet Mothers Day Tribute To Becky Lynch

May 10, 2021 • Admin

You only get one. Wrestlers are just like regular people in a lot of ways. While they might be major stars in front of the camera, they have real lives once the shows go off the air. Those include friends and families, some of which are celebrated just like the ones in our own lives. That was the case on Sunday, and this time around it was for a pretty special occasion. SmackDown star Seth Rollins has posted a photo to Instagram, showing his daughter with his fiance Becky Lynch. The photo’s caption talks about how great it is for his daughter to be able to call Lynch her mother and wishes Lynch a happy first Mother’s Day, along with wishing everyone else a happy Mother’s Day. Lynch gave birth to their daughter back in December. Lynch has not been seen on WWE television since last May when she announced that she was pregnant and was vacating the Raw Women’s Title to go away on maternity leave. There is no word on when she will be back on television, but she has been teasing a return. ..

WWE RUMOR: Plans For The Usos Revealed

May 10, 2021 • Admin

So that’s where they’re going. Wrestling shows are advanced every single week with one twist and turn after another. You don’t know when you are going to see something happen and that can make things all the more exciting. However, every now and then you see something that makes an even bigger change. Now we might know what one of the next ones will be. According to Wrestlingnews.co, the current plans for the reunited Usos is to have them take the SmackDown Tag Team Titles from a babyface team. There is no word on who the team will be, as Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode are the Tag Team Champions. However, they are currently scheduled to defend the titles against Rey Mysterio and Dominick Mysterio at WrestleMania Backlash. The Usos have been teaming together since 2010 and have won a combined six Tag Team Titles in WWE. The team has been inactive for over a year though as Jimmy has been out with a knee injury. Jimmy made his return during last week’s edition of SmackDown, during which..

VIDEO: Possible Reason For Recent NXT UK Departure

May 10, 2021 • Admin

That’s a good reason. Every now and then, almost every wrestler is going to need a little break from being in the ring. For one reason or another, they just need to be away from wrestling for a little while. It might be due to a personal issue, it might be a way to freshen them up a bit, or it might be to deal with an injury. Unfortunately the latter seems to be the case this time around with an NXT UK star. Earlier this week, Amir Jordan lost a Loser Leaves NXT UK match against Kenny Williams, forcing him to leave the promotion. There is no word on where or when Jordan will be wrestling again, but we may have an idea of why he is leaving. Jordan has released a video announcing that he might be needing shoulder surgery. It is not clear if this is why he lost the match. This means a lot to him. Check out the announcement: [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: This would certainly explain a lot and it would not surprise me to see Jordan coming back one day, perhaps on 20..

WHAT? Steve Austin Set For Two WWE Appearances

May 10, 2021 • Admin

He’s worth watching. There are certain legends in wrestling and then there are some names who are just flat out bigger than almost anyone else. These are the names you are going to notice no matter what they are doing because they are just too big to ignore. This can be the case even after their in-ring career is over and now we are going to be seeing one of the biggest names ever twice. Steve Austin will be making two appearances on different shows in the near future. First, as announced by WWE. Austin will be appearing on the May 12 edition of Drew&A, the Drew McIntyre interview series on the WWE Network. The show will be airing on Peacock in the United States and on the WWE Network elsewhere. This comes after McIntyre was a guest on the Broken Skull Sessions in December 2020. Second, WWE Hall of Famer the Godfather has revealed on Instagram that he will be an upcoming guest on the Broken Skull Sessions, Austin’s interview series on the WWE Network. The post shows Godfather on the ..

205 Live Results – April 23, 2021

April 26, 2021 • Admin

205 Live Date: April 23, 2021 Location: Capitol Wrestling Center, Winter Park, Florida Commentators: Nigel McGuinness, Tom Phillips It’s time for more interchangeable cruiserweight action as the same people get to have mostly the same matches as they always do around here. Hopefully the action is good, because that is about all that happens to make things interesting on this show. I wouldn’t bet on it though, as I learned not to do a long time ago. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Bollywood Boyz vs. Ariya Daivari/Tony Nese The Boyz manage to get Phillips, now with a beard, to dance a bit. Commentary points out that we’ve seen this match before. Daivari hammers away on Samir to start and sends him arm first into the buckle. A cobra clutch puts Samir down and it’s off to Nese for the quickly broken chinlock. Instead, Daivari comes back in to drop some elbows but Samir manages a tornado DDT. Nese is smart enough to break up the hot tag though and comes back in for two off a snap sup..

WWE Tag Team Reunion Nearly Took Place Before Release

April 26, 2021 • Admin

What could have been. Earlier this month, WWE released nine wrestlers from their contracts, which offered quite the shakeup to the company’s roster. These releases came fairy out of nowhere though and that means there were chances for something else to happen. Now those plans will not be realized, but we do know what one of them might have been. According to Fightful Select, prior to his release from the company, WWE was considering reuniting Wesley Blake with his NXT tag team partner Buddy Murphy. The two had been meeting with WWE creative to come up with a way to reintroduce them to WWE programming but nothing ever took place. The idea came about after Blake’s other partner, Steve Cutler, was released from the company in January. Blake and Murphy appeared together in NXT, where they were managed by Alexa Bliss. The two won the NXT Tag Team Titles in January 2015 and held them for over seven months. Following their loss, the two failed to recapture their titles and ultimately split,..

VIDEO: Released WWE Stars Teased In Slammiversary Preview

April 26, 2021 • Admin

Face time! One of the best things about Impact Wrestling in 2020 was the mystery of Slammiversary. The company made it very clear that some of the recently released WWE stars would be heading to the promotion but the question was which ones would be there. It made for some great drama and then the payoff wound up working rather well. It went so well that they might as well try it again. It worked before. Check out the teaser for this year’s Slammiversary: During Sunday’s Rebellion pay per view, Impact Wrestling aired an ad for July’s Slammiversary event. The video featured brief flashes of recently released WWE stars, including Samoa Joe, Chelsea Green and Mickie James, all of whom have worked for Impact Wrestling before. Also included were flags of Australia and Mexico, along with Kazuchika Okada, Tetsuya Naito and the Great Muta. Slammiversary 2020 saw the debuts of the Good Brothers and the returns of Eric Young and EC3. Opinion: This is the kind of thing that gets my attention a..

WATCH: Amazing Wrestling Proposal (Contains Strong Language)

April 26, 2021 • Admin

Yeah I’d say that’s memorable. There are certain moments in wrestling that fans are going to remember for a long time to come. Maybe it is something that stuck with fans because it was great or because I had some kind of emotional impact, but the connection is there. Sometimes it is personal, and that is the case for a couple of wrestlers who are ready to take a big step. This is one of those things you don’t forget. Check out a special proposal: [This post contains video, click to play] Independent wrestler Laynie Luck has posted a video to her Twitter showing her boyfriend, fellow independent wrestler GPA, proposing to her during a wrestling training session. Luck is sent into a corner and turns around, where GPA is on his knee holding the ring. The video has since been commented on or retweeted by various names in wrestling, including Mick Foley. Good one @GPAthinks ? congratulations guys!! — Mrs. Indi Wrestling Lumis (@indi_hartwell) April 26, 2021 Omg congrats ? — Salina de..

Former Champion Makes Surprise Return At Impact Wrestling Rebellion

April 26, 2021 • Admin

Welcome back. It might be hard to fathom but Impact Wrestling has been around for the better part of twenty years. The company has seen a lot of talented people come and go over the years with several of them having multiple stints with the company. Some of these returns have been great and that seems to be the case again as another star from the past has returned. Former Knockouts Champion Taylor Wilde returned to Impact Wrestling during this weekend’s Rebellion pay per view. Wilde appeared following Deonna Purrazzo’s successful Knockouts Title defense over Tenille Dashwood to save Dashwood from a post match attack. This set up a staredown between Wilde and Purrazzo. Wilde’s return had been announced on Impact Wrestling, but no specific date was given. Wilde wrestled for Impact Wrestling from 2008-2010, during which she won the Knockouts Tag Team Titles twice and the Knockouts Title once. Since leaving the promotion, Wilde wrestled briefly on the independent circuit but has not wres..

VIDEO: Former WWE Star Makes Surprise Impact Wrestling Debut

April 26, 2021 • Admin

Nice to meet you! There are several wrestling promotions around today but WWE is pretty easily the largest and best known. Working for WWE can open all kinds of doors for a wrestler’s career and let them have quite the career after leaving the company. Seeing a former WWE star debut elsewhere can be quite the moment and now we have seen a rather big one. Former WWE star Big Cass, appearing under the name W. Morrissey, short for his real name of William Morrissey, made his Impact Wrestling debut at Rebellion 2021. Morrissey appeared as a replacement for the injured Eric Young for Violent By Design in an eight man tag. Young made it clear that Morrissey was not a full member of the team. It is not clear if Morrissey is with the company full time going forward. Morrissey wrestled for WWE from 2013-2018, mainly teaming with Enzo Amore. The two of them regularly challenged for various Tag Team Titles but Morrissey never won any titles in the company. Since leaving the company, Morrissey h..

Impact Wrestling Rebellion 2021 Results

April 26, 2021 • Admin

Rebellion 2021 Date: April 25, 2021 Location: Skyway Studios, Nashville, Tennessee Commentators: D’Lo Brown, Matt Striker Rich Swann vs. Kenny Omega, title for title. I would talk about the rest of the show but none of it matters in the slightest, which you would know if you have been watching the TV shows. Nothing else has gotten any significant attention in the build, which does make some sense. Hopefully it lives up to the considerable hype. Let’s get to it. The opening sequence focuses on Omega vs. Swann, with Omega talking about how being the best goes so far beyond being the best in the ring. The rest of the card gets far less attention. X-Division Title: TJP vs. Ace Austin vs. Josh Alexander Austin, with Madman Fulton, is defending. Alexander and TJP go after the champ to start with Austin kicking Alexander in the head. TJP gets taken down so Alexander goes for the ankle lock on Austin. That’s broken up so Alexander gets caught in TJP’s Octopus hold. With that not lasting lon..

Impact Wrestling Results – April 22, 2021

April 25, 2021 • Admin

Impact Wrestling Date: April 22, 2021 Location: Skyway Studios, Nashville, Tennessee Commentators: Matt Striker, D’Lo Brown It’s the go home show for Rebellion and I’m curious to see how they push the rest of the card. The main event is long since set but we need more of the card being built up. We should be in for a good pay per view but some of that is going to be based on a good go home show. Let’s get to it. We open with a video on Rich Swann vs. Kenny Omega, including last week’s press conference. Opening sequence. Decay vs. Good Brothers Rosemary is here with Decay. Anderson and Steve start things off with the former firing off some uppercuts. Steve gets smart by grabbing the arm and brings in Taurus to chop away in the corner. Decay takes turns on the arm but Andreson gets Taurus over to the corner so Gallows can hammer away. A shot to the mask sets up Anderson’s chinlock, followed by Gallows’ elbows to the chest and a chinlock of his own. That’s broken up as well and the h..
