WATCH: Roman Reigns vs. Samoa Joe From WWE Backlash 2018

July 27, 2021 • Admin

When heavyweights collide. WWE has posted a new video to its YouTube channel in which they show the full match between Roman Reigns and Samoa Joe from WWE Backlash 2018. You can see the match in its entirety below: [This post contains video, click to play] From WWE.com: Joe ambushed Reigns before the bell and sent him crashing through the Spanish announce table with a Uranage, kicking off a strategy that began with Reigns trapped in holds that targeted his shoulders for minutes on end and culminated in a series of Coquina Clutch attempts that The Big Dog narrowly managed to avoid. Joe’s strategy was as rudimentary as it was effective. Even when Reigns landed a thunderous Spear, Joe was close enough to the ropes to stop the pinfall, and The Samoan Submission Machine only turned up the heat when he felt it was time to lock in his near-ironclad submission hold. When Joe finally applied the Clutch, grapevine legs and all, Reigns seemed to be drifting into unconsciousness before he ro..

Natalya Potentially Suffers Injury On Raw

July 27, 2021 • Admin

That didn’t look good. WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Natalya appeared to have suffered a leg injury during tonight’s episode of Raw, during a match with Eva Marie and Doudrop. She and her partner, Tamina, were in the match, when Natalya appeared to suffer a right leg injury on either a roll-over or a foot stomp from Doudrop. Natalya tagged out and immediately had trouble putting weight on her right leg. The referee then apparently called an audible as Tamina took over, and after a distraction by Lilly on the big screen, hit a superkick on Eva for the pin to win. After the match, a ringside medic immediately helped Natalya to the back. Tamina joined the medic in helping Natalya, who was still unable to put weight on her right leg. You can see a clip of the potential injury below: @RajGiri_303 It appears here is where she injured her ankle or leg. @WrestlingInc pic.twitter.com/jOrMKv38il — Ethan Cramer (@EthanCramer) July 27, 2021 Here’s another clip from the match: [This post con..

New Title Match Set For Summerslam

July 27, 2021 • Admin

Keep the card going. There are a lot of ways to present a title match as you can come up with several different options. That is the case with WWE, as they have a lot of titles to choose from at any given time. Sometimes they can come up with a few different ideas here and there, and this time around they have dusted off one of the old classics for next month. This week’s Monday Night Raw opened with new Raw Women’s Champion Nikki Ash talking about how she overcame the odds to win the title. Former champion Charlotte and Rhea Ripley interrupted, saying they wanted the title back. As a result, Adam Pearce and Sonya Deville made a triple threat match between the three of them for the title at Summerslam. This is the same match that has taken place at the two WWE live events over the weekend. These three are going to be interesting. Check out all of them in action: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click t..

Monday Night Raw Date: July 26, 2021 Location: T-Mobile Center, Kansas City, Missouri Commentators: Jimmy Smith, Byron Saxton, Corey Graves It’s time to find out how bad Raw can get this week, which tends to be the new low every week. Last week’s show was one of the biggest head scratchers I’ve seen in a very long time and it could be terrifying to see just how low things can get. We are less than a month away from Summerslam and it’s time to build things up. Let’s get to it. We open with a recap of last week’s Women’s Title match and Nikki Ash cashing in Money in the Bank to win the title. Here is Nikki Ash to get things going. She finally gets to welcome us to Raw and talks about how she didn’t believe she could get here. Nikki has worked to get here and once she finally started believing in herself, she accomplished her goals. If she can do it, everyone can do it and we can all be almost superheroes. Cue Charlotte to talk about how last week wasn’t fair and she is getting her rem..

Vince McMahon Scripted TV Series Announced

July 26, 2021 • Admin

He’s pretty interesting. There is no one in the wrestling world like Vince McMahon and that might be a great thing. McMahon is a lot of things, including the most powerful person in the wrestling world, but he does not have the cleanest past in the world. There are several scandals and situations throughout McMahon’s history. Now we are about to see a closer look at one of the bigger ones. WWE has announced that it will partner with Blumhouse Studios on a limited scripted series called “The United States Of America vs. Vince McMahon.” The series will focus on McMahon being charged with steroid distribution in 1994. McMahon himself will serve as an executive producer on the series. There is no word on when the series will air or which network will air it. This could go a lot of different ways. July 26, 2021 • Admin

You can always depend on your friends. WWE has posted a new video to its YouTube channel in which they show the full match between Sasha Banks & Bayley vs. Charlotte & Dana Brooke from Battleground 2016. You can watch the match in its entirety below: [This post contains video, click to play] From WWE.com: The champion and her enforcer seemed confident that Banks wouldn’t be able to find a partner, but The Boss proved them wrong as the WWE Network event started. The WWE Universe was ecstatic to see Bayley, erupting in cheers as her trademark wacky waving inflatable arm-flailing tube men soared toward the Verizon Center’s rafters. The rapturous cheers quickly turned to jeers as Charlotte and Dana ambushed their opponents before the bell. The WWE Women’s Champion pounced on Bayley, but the resilient NXT Superstar fought out of the corner with a diving elbow and sent Banks into action. A fired-up Boss charged at Charlotte and unleashed a hurricanrana off the ropes. However, the steel..

WWE RUMOR: More Changes May Be Coming For Karrion Kross

July 26, 2021 • Admin

He may not be done yet. A debut is one of the most important parts of a wrestler’s career. If they do not come in hot, or at least respectable, it could make for a horrible problem to their career. WWE has a rather hit and miss history with this sort of thing and that was the case again last week. Now it seems that we might not be all the way to the end, and there may still be a chance. According to Andrew Zarian of the Mat Men Podcast, WWE has a planned direction for Karrion Kross and the loss in his debut was only the start of the angle. There is no word on where the angle is expected to go, though Hardy tested positive for the Coronavirus in the last few days, meaning that he will be forced to quarantine for two weeks. It is not clear if the angle will continue as Hardy quarantines. Kross is the reigning NXT Champion and the loss to Hardy was his first pinfall defeat at any level in WWE. The loss was not mentioned during Kross’ appearance the following night on NXT, though his app..

RUMOR: CM Punk Signing With AEW Shakes Up Daniel Bryan Plans

July 26, 2021 • Admin

It did shake things up a bit. There have been a lot of wrestling stories taking place in the last few weeks and two of the biggest go hand in hand. This week, stories broke suggesting that both CM Punk and Daniel Bryan have either signed with AEW or are all but signed. That is the kind of thing that could change up the wrestling world but it has already shaken up AEW. According to Cassidy Haynes of Bodyslam.net on the jaBROnies podcast, AEW’s plans for Bryan were changed when Punk was signed to the company. The original idea had been for Bryan to debut during the September 22 Grand Slam event in New York City. As a result, the plans for the show have been changed, as AEW is trying to come up with a solution to showcase both stars as well as possible while capitalizing on the buzz. Punk is a former multiple time WWE World Champion but has not wrestled a match since January 2014. While he has not wrestled, he did appear as an analyst for WWE Backstage on Fox Sports 1 starting in 2019. ..

WATCH: AEW Star Gets Engaged In The Ring

July 26, 2021 • Admin

That’s just special. Wrestlers are an interesting group as they are out there on television every single week, trying to convince us that what they are doing is real. That is a lot harder than it sounds, as wrestlers are indeed playing characters with real and different lives. Sometimes you get to see their lives on display in the ring, which was the case in a nice moment over the weekend. Over the weekend at an MCW Pro Wrestling event, AEW’s Nick Comoroto came to the ring where his girlfriend, Becky, was standing. After praising several things about her, Comoroto proposed to Becky, who was working as a referee at the event. Becky said yes to Comoroto and the event continued, with MCW Pro posting a video of the event. Comoroto currently wrestles for AEW as part of QT Marshall’s Nightmare Factory stable. Comoroto is a heck of a prospect. Check out the proposal and what he has done in AEW: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This pos..

Surprising Former WWE Star Tells Of Bullying Great Khali

July 26, 2021 • Admin

That’s an odd pairing. WWE has had all kinds of wrestlers over the years, with some of them being quite different than the norm. That is the kind of thing that is going to get more interest and attention than some others, which is the point in having so many different people out there. Now one of the more unique wrestlers in WWE has history has a story about an even more unique wrestler. During an appearance on the Such Good Shoot podcast, former WWE star Swoggle spoke about bullying Great Khali during his time in WWE. Swoggle said that he intentionally bullied Great Khali every change he had, as he wanted to make a point and felt that bullying no one else would matter. He also understood that this is something which would be frowned upon today as times have changed. There is no word on how Great Khali responded to the bullying or what exactly Swoggle did. The two of them actually had some time together on television. Check out the podcast and what they did together as a team: [This..

Monday Night Raw Star Has Coronavirus, Out Two Weeks

July 25, 2021 • Admin

It’s the new reality. The Coronavirus pandemic has shaken up the entire world and there is nothing to suggest that the situation is going to be completely solved anytime soon. Things are better than they were just a few months ago, but there is still a lot of work to be done. There are also going to be a lot of people catching the virus, which is the case in wrestling again. The recordBar in Kansas City, Missouri has announced that Jeff Hardy’s upcoming appearance at the venue has been postponed due to Hardy contracting the Coronavirus. As a result, Hardy will be forced to quarantine for two weeks, meaning he will be missing the next two weeks of WWE events as well. There is no word on when the two weeks of quarantining will begin. WWE Doing Something Cool With Summerslam For The First Time

July 25, 2021 • Admin

You have to let them see it. After fifteen months without them, WWE finally has fans back in the arenas for their shows. That is the kind of change that brought some new energy to the promotion after so long without it and things have improved as a result. Ultimately, what matters most is allowing people to see the show and that will be done at this year’s Summerslam in a unique way. WWE has announced that Summerslam will air in select movie theaters around the United States for the first time in the event’s history. The show, which takes place on August 21, will be the first Summerslam to ever take place on a Saturday or in an NFL stadium, as it is held in Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada. More information can be found at wweliveintheaters.com. Summerslam will air on Peacock in the United States and on the WWE Network internationally. No matches have been confirmed for the show as of yet, but Bobby Lashley defending the WWE Championship against Goldberg and John Cena challengi..

VIDEO: WWE Shows Look At Its Amazing Charity Work

July 25, 2021 • Admin

That’s worth bragging about. WWE may not be quite the force that it has been in the past, but it is still doing some things at a level that has not been seen before in wrestling. The company has grown to a level that no promotion could ever have imagined and brings in more money than they know what to do with at times. It seems that they are helping some others though and that is a good thing. WWE has released a new video called “Go Beyond The Ring”, which showcases some of the work the company has done with charity in recent years. This mainly includes WWE stars meeting with various children in places such as schools and hospitals. The theme of the video is that these are the actions that you do not see from WWE. This is the same video which also aired on SmackDown this week. This is pretty cool. Check out the video, plus another look at some of WWE’s charity work: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, cli..

Kane Was Almost The Big Green Machine

July 25, 2021 • Admin

That was almost bad. A wrestler has to have the right look to make everything work right. If a wrestler does not have the right appearance or attire, something is always going to feel a little bit off about them. It is one of the most important parts of a wrestler’s career and there have been some instances of promotions completely missing the mark. That was nearly the case again with a wrestling legend. During a recent edition of his Pro Wrestling 4 Life podcast, Sean Waltman, better known as X-Pac, revealed that Kane almost wrestled in green attire. The different look would have been used during Kane’s team with X-Pac, but it never actually appeared on television. Waltman did not like the idea, as Kane was known as the Big Red Machine while also not being part of D-Generation X, whose signature color was green. Kane and X-Pac were a good team. Check out some of their time together and the full podcast: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to..

Double Up: Professional Wrestler Sets National Records In Different Sport

July 25, 2021 • Admin

It’s another kind of talent. Wrestlers are in a weird place as they do not receive the most credit for their athletic skills despite being incredible athletes in the first place. Sometimes you will see a wrestler get to showcase what they are capable of doing and it is absolutely fascinating. That was the case again this week, as a wrestler set a record in a completely different sport. Impact Wrestling’s Jordynne Grace sent out a series of tweets announcing that she competed in a Women’s National Powerlifting Federation event in Georgia. Grace set three state and national records in the squat, bench press and deadlift in the 165lb weight class while also being named Best Overall Lifter. Grace’s Impact Wrestling tag team partner Rachael Ellering was at the event as well, cheering for Grace and tweeting out pictures and updates. Grace made her wrestling debut in 2011 and has been with Impact Wrestling since 2018. She is a former Knockouts and Knockouts Tag Team Champion with Ellering a..

VIDEO: Margot Robbie Slept With A John Cena Cutout In Her Bedroom For A Year

July 25, 2021 • Admin

That’s an interesting combination. John Cena made his long awaited return to the WWE last week at Money in the Bank. Cena’s return would seem to set up a huge match against Roman Reigns at Summerslam, which could even draw in some extra mainstream attention. With Cena now advancing his career in Hollywood, there are some newly opened doors waiting on him. One of those involves an odd connection to a well known actress. Cena appeared with Margot Robbie and James Gunn on Jimmy Kimmel Live to promote The Suicide Squad. During the interview, Robbie mentioned that she watched wrestling growing up and loved the Undertaker. Robbie also mentioned that she had a boyfriend who was obsessed with Cena, to the point of dressing up like Cena for his birthday. The boyfriend also had a cardboard cutout of Cena in his bedroom, which Robbie was scared to mention to Cena. She ultimately told him the story soon after meeting him. This is certainly a story. Check out the full interview plus some of what ..

Several Names Missing From WWE Training Sessions, Who Was There

July 24, 2021 • Admin

It’s not for them. WWE is finally back on the road and it is helping to energize the events quite a bit. There is something that you get with fans which cannot be replicated inside the Thunderdome and it is great to have them back. WWE knew that such changes would have to be coming and thankfully the shows have been pretty good so far. Some of this is due to extra preparation, but not every wrestler is involved. Over the last several weeks, WWE has held training sessions for its wrestlers at the Performance Center in Orlando, Florida. According to Fightful Select, while these sessions were originally thought to be mandatory, WWE has allowed wrestlers to miss them if they have a personal issue. As a result, various wrestlers did miss the sessions due to personal reasons. However, it is said that almost all of the women’s division was present for the sessions, including Sasha Banks. WWE wrestlers certainly do train. Check out some of their preparations: [This post contains video, clic..

REVIEW: Ring Of Honor Best In The World 2021: Maybe Not Best

July 24, 2021 • Admin

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be? Best In The World 2021 Date: July 11, 2021 Location: UMBC Event Center, Baltimore, Maryland Attendance: 1,250 Commentators: Ian Riccaboni, Caprice Coleman It’s time for the fans to be back here as well, which should make things a little more energetic. Ring of Honor has been one of the more consistently quality TV shows as of late and now they need to make that work on television as well. That might be easier said than done though so let’s get to it. It really is cool to see some fans back. Tracy Williams is out..

VIDEO: John Cena Wrestles After SmackDown

July 24, 2021 • Admin

Welcome back! The biggest WWE story over the last week has been the return of John Cena. After over a year away from the company, Cena made his return at Money In The Bank to confront Roman Reigns, likely setting up a Summerslam match for Reigns’ Universal Title. That is the kind of thing WWE is going to take seriously, and that means they are going to put in the practice. Cena wrestled in a post show dark match following this week’s episode of SmackDown. After the show, Cena teamed with Rey Mysterio and Dominik Mysterio to face the Usos and Roman Reigns. There was no contact between Reigns and Cena during the match. Cena’s most recent televised match was the Firefly Fun House match at WrestleMania 36, and his most recent traditional televised match took place in January 2019. Cena looked good in his return. Check out the match, plus some more of Cena’s return: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to ..
