NXT UK Results – January 13, 2022

January 14, 2022 • Admin

NXT UK Date: January 13, 2022 Location: BT Studios, London, England Commentators: Andy Shepherd, Nigel McGuinness It’s the end of an era as we are going to see Walter’s final match around here. Walter is one of the people who has made this show feel special every time he appears and while it will be great to see him moving up the ladder, he is going to be missed around here. Hopefully there is a nice tribute to go with the match, so let’s get to it. We open with a video looking back at Walter’s time in NXT UK. Opening sequence. Jack Starz/Dave Mastiff vs. Die Familia Charlie Dempsey is here with Die Familia and the winners face Ashton Smith and Oliver Carter for the #1 contendership. Raja muscles Starz up to start and throws him away without much effort. They fight over a lockup but Raja throws him off a front facelock. Starz can’t take him down by the leg but he can take him down with an armbar. A headlock gives Starz two and some dropkicks send Raja into the corner. That’s enoug..

WRESTLING RUMOR: Monday Night Raw May Be Doing Something Brand New

January 14, 2022 • Admin

It would be a first. Earlier this week, Monday Night Raw reached twenty nine years old, as the show made its debut on January 11, 1993. The show has been around for a very long time now and has been held in a variety of countries around the world. It is still the company’s flagship show and now there is a chance that they will be doing something else in a new area. According to Andrew Zarian on the Mat Men Pro Wrestling podcast, WWE may film an episode of Monday Night Raw in Saudi Arabia when the company goes to the country in February. It is not confirmed if this will take place, as WWE will be returning to Saudi Arabia for an event on February 19, though they already have a Monday Night Raw scheduled for February 21 in Columbia, South Carolina. Monday Night Raw has never been held in Saudi Arabia. This could be cool. WATCH: AJ Styles Has Cool Post-Retirement Plans In Wrestling

January 14, 2022 • Admin

That sounds like a plan. Wrestlers often have a hard time finding a way out of the industry when they retire. If they have spent a majority of their adult life in the wrestling business, it can be difficult to figure out a way to move on. There are some spots available in the wrestling world after their careers are over though and now one modern legend is interested in taking one of those spots. AJ Styles has spent the last few weeks in NXT, dealing with Grayson Waller. Styles defeated Waller in a match this week on NXT and seemed to wrap up his time on the show. In a video posted to WWE’s YouTube page, Styles said that he loved his time in NXT and could see himself becoming a coach or a trainer in NXT after his career is over. Styles said the wrestlers are eager to learn, which he sees as a positive sign going forward. There is no word on when Styles plans to retire from the ring. This could be a good thing. Check out Styles’ statement, his time in NXT, and some of his greatness: [..

WATCH: Ring Of Honor Title Changes Hands As Invasion Continues

January 14, 2022 • Admin

When worlds collide. The wrestling world has changed a lot in recent years, as the barriers between promotions have gone down. The separation between companies has lowered as promotions are starting to work together and acknowledge each other more than ever. That has made for some interesting moments, and that was the case again this week, involving a promotion that is only kind of around at the moment. This week on Impact Wrestling, Deonna Purrazzo defeated Rok-C to win the Ring of Honor Women’s Title. Following the match, Ring of Honor’s Maria Kanellis-Bennett came to the ring to confront Purrazzo, with several other Ring of Honor wrestlers surrounding her. Impact Wrestling stars attempted to make a save but were attacked as well. This comes after the Ring of Honor stars invaded Hart To Kill, a show that also saw the Ring of Honor World Title defended. It was a big night. Check out the match, the post match, and the new champ in action: [This post contains video, click to play] [..

Update On Missing Finn Balor’s Whereabouts

January 14, 2022 • Admin

There he goes. WWE has a lot of wrestlers on its roster, to the point where it can be difficult to keep track of all of them. Sometimes a wrestler will disappear for a long time with little explanation and it can be easy to forget that they are around in the first place. That seems to be the case with a WWE star, but now we have an update on where they are currently located. Monday Night Raw’s Finn Balor has posted an image to his Instagram, showing he and his wife in his hometown of Bray, County Wicklow, Ireland. Balor has not wrestled on television since the December 20 Monday Night Raw or on a live event since December 28. There is no word on why Balor is out of action and nothing to suggest that he is suffering from an injury. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Finn Ba?lor / PRIN?E (@finnbalor) Balor is a heck of a star. SmackDown Star Injured, Missing 4-6 Weeks

January 14, 2022 • Admin

That’s never good to hear. Injuries can happen to anyone at any time and they are never a good thing. Someone can be on the roll of a lifetime and be taken down by something happening to them. What can make it even worse is if it happens when they are getting ready for a major show. Unfortunately that seems to be the case again, as another star is going on the injured list. SmackDown’s Xavier Woods appeared on an Attack Of The Show livestream and revealed that he suffered an injury during the New Day’s match vs. the Usos on January 7. Woods tore the plantaris muscle in his calf while hitting a DDT on the floor, which will put him out from four to six weeks, meaning he will likely miss the Royal Rumble but should be back in time for WrestleMania. Woods is pretty awesome. Bring Him In: Former World Champion Signs With Impact Wrestling

January 13, 2022 • Admin

That’s a big name. The wrestling world has been shaken up more than once in recent months and there is nothing to suggest that things are really settling down. The demise of the original Ring of Honor is one of the biggest changes to have taken place in a long time and several wrestlers have hit the free agent market as a result. Now one of them has a new home. According to Pat Laparde, former Ring of Honor World Champion PCO has signed a deal with Impact Wrestling. The deal will allow PCO to wrestle on the independent circuit but Impact Wrestling will take priority. PCO debuted with Impact Wrestling at Hard To Kill, where he and several other Ring of Honor names appeared and attacked a group of Impact Wrestling wrestlers. As mentioned on “Les Anti-Pods de la Lutte” podcast, following his appearance at Hard to Kill last Saturday, I have learned that PCO has signed a contract with Impact Wrestling. The contract allows him to work on the indies, but he’ll have to prioritize Impact’s ..

WWE Bringing Back The Elimination Chamber In A Unique Spot

January 13, 2022 • Admin

That would be a draw. Back in 2018, WWE began a regular series of shows in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia, featuring some rather stacked cards on a huge stage. They are often treated as some of the biggest shows of the year and it makes a big difference to have them take place. That will be the case again next month and WWE is bringing something big to the show. According to Fightful Select, WWE will be bringing back the Elimination Chamber for the February Saudi Arabia show. There is no word on how many Elimination Chamber matches there will be or who will be participating. WWE regularly presents an Elimination Chamber event in February, though no such show was announced for this year. The yet to be titled Saudi Arabia show is expected to take place on February 19. The Chamber is a big deal. Check out what it means for the show: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: I don’t know how ..

205 Live Results – January 7, 2022

January 13, 2022 • Admin

205 Live Date: January 7, 2022 Location: Capitol Wrestling Center, Orlando, Florida Commentators: Vic Joseph, Nigel McGuinness We’re back to the NXT version of Main Event, which seems to have dropped any indication of a new name. That is something that seemed imminent but now nothing seems to actually be taking place. Hopefully they get to the switch already, because there isn’t much of a point to this show otherwise. Let’s get to it. Malik Blade vs. Draco Anthony They fight over some basic grappling to start until Anthony shoulders him down. A headlock takeover keeps Blade in early trouble until he is right back with a dropkick. Anthony slams him out of the corner though and an overhead belly to belly gets two on Blade. The Boston crab stays on Blade’s back for a fairly long while but he finally manages to fight out. Some shots to the face put Anthony in trouble for a change and there’s a running clothesline in the corner. Blade hits his own suplex and a missile dropkick finally giv..

Ring Of Honor TV Results – January 12, 2022

January 13, 2022 • Admin

Ring of Honor Date: January 12, 2022 Host: Quinn McKay We’re continuing on the road to the relaunch, which means we get to continue our look through the video vault. So far that has only meant the best of 2021, which I can understand, but it would be nice to mix it up a bit with some of the older stuff. That is the foundation (not to be confused with The Foundation) of the company and a look back at it would be nice. Let’s get to it. As usual, these will be the full versions rather than the clipped editions that air. Opening sequence. Quinn McKay gives us the usual welcome but this week we have something special: the Best of 2021 Awards! From Death Before Dishonor, and one of the top five matches of the year as voted by the fans, with Rok-C named the Women’s Wrestler of the Year. Women’s Title: Miranda Alize vs. Rok-C For the vacant title so we get the Big Match Intros. Feeling out process to start as they head to the mat, with Rok-C grabbing a headlock….and let’s look at comment..

WATCH: Hulk Hogan Roasted On Tonight Show Over Controversial Tweets

January 13, 2022 • Admin

It didn’t go over well. There have been a lot of wrestlers over the years but there are very few who have reached the levels of Hulk Hogan. Over a rather lengthy career, Hogan became one of the biggest stars in the history of wrestling and changed the way the industry worked for years to come. Since his retirement, things have not gone so well for him though, and that was the case again this week. Over the weekend, Hogan suggested that the deaths of celebrities who have recently passed away, including Betty White, Bob Saget and Sidney Poitier, were all due to them having received the Coronavirus vaccine. Hogan’s comments were mentioned on the Tonight Show, with host Jimmy Fallon saying that the jokes made him the Heavyweight Champion of Facebook. Hogan has not yet responded to the joke. Wrestling has been a part of talk shows before. Check out the joke (with Hogan’s section beginning at 3:00) and some other wrestling talk show interactions: [This post contains video, click to play]..

Multiple Injuries Took Place At Impact Wrestling Hard To Kill

January 13, 2022 • Admin

That’s never good to hear. You never know when a wrestler is going to get hurt and that is always a sad thing to hear. Sometimes a wrestler gets hurt out of nowhere for one reason or another, though there is no way to guarantee that someone can be completely safe. Unfortunately they can come in bunches, and that was the case over the weekend with several wrestlers getting injured. According to PWInsider.com, there were multiple injuries over the weekend at Impact Wrestling’s Hard To Kill pay per view. Deonna Purrazzo (head injury) and World Champion Moose (knot on his hip) are both said to be banged up but are not expected to miss any time. X-Division Champion Trey Miguel broke his front tooth and will require dental surgery. Rosemary suffered some sort of an arm or shoulder injury, though it is not known how severe it is. Both Miguel and Rosemary were forced to miss a Wrestling Revolver event over the weekend as a result. It is not clear if they will miss any additional time. These ..

They’re Being Worked: Wrestlers Are Being Scammed Over Free Shoes

January 13, 2022 • Admin

It can happen to anyone. Wrestlers are larger than life people who are constantly on television and trying to get your attention. Some of them are more successful than others and that can make for some interesting moments. However, the one thing that they all have in common is that they are humans, meaning they are going to make mistakes. Some of them have made similar mistakes recently and it has caused some problems. According to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful.com, some wrestlers have been caught in a scam advertising free shoes. The scam involves wrestlers being told to go to a site and log in on one of their social media channels, allowing the scammer to steal their passwords. Multiple wrestlers have had their social media channels hacked recently, including Bray Wyatt and Omos, though it is not clear if their situations were related to the scam. Several of the wrestlers getting hacked are due to a free shoe scam. They have you go to a site, log in with your Twitter/IG and steal your..

WRESTLING RUMORS: WWE Very Interested In Signing Away AEW Star

January 13, 2022 • Admin

He has their attention. AEW has changed the way the wrestling industry works, as we now have a new major promotion. That has opened up more than a few doors, but most importantly it has allowed more wrestlers a chance to perform on the big stage. All kinds of wrestlers are now appearing on national television, and it seems that one of them has caught WWE’s eye. According to the WrestleVotes Twitter account, WWE is interested in AEW’s Wardlow and would love to bring him in when Wardlow’s AEW contract expires. It is not clear when Wardlow’s contract is up, though he debuted with AEW in 2019. Wardlow has worked as Maxwell Jacob Friedman’s bodyguard, but has been branching out into more singles matches in recent weeks. With his biggest match to date happening later tonight, I can confirm, without hesitation, that WWE will be extremely interested in luring Wardlow away from AEW when his contract is due. There are several people within World Wrestling Entertainment that LOVE his potential...

Ring Of Honor TV Results – January 5, 2022

January 13, 2022 • Admin

Ring Of Honor Date: January 5, 2022 Host: Quinn McKay We are officially in the Best Of era for Ring of Honor, as the company is on hiatus for the next three months. Therefore, it is time to crack open the video fault and that is not the worst news. Ring of Honor has a very deep library to pick from and now we can see what they have handpicked. Let’s get to it. Note that I will be posting the full versions of each match (assuming I have them already) rather than any clips that might be in the broadcasts. Opening sequence. Quinn McKay welcomes us to the show and promises to show us the best of 2021. From the 19th Anniversary Show. Flamita vs. Rey Horus vs. Bandido Bandido and Horus seem cool but Flamita isn’t interested in a handshake. Flamita takes them both down to start but Bandido drops him to the floor. That gives us the Bandido vs. Horus showdown, which might not have the impact that they were looking for twenty seconds in. They shake hands until Horus starts kicking away, on..

Injured AEW Wrestler Returns On Dynamite And Has A New Target

January 13, 2022 • Admin

Welcome back. There are a lot of wrestlers on almost any given roster and some of them make a bigger impact than others. Some of them are going to get your attention immediately and you can harly take your eyes off of them. That was the case with a certain AEW star, who has been on the injured list for a few months. His health has improved though, and now he has someone in his targets. Lance Archer made his return to AEW television this week on Dynamite, attacking World Champion Hangman Page. Archer’s return came after Page said that it was a new year and he needed a new challenger. Archer has been out of action since October, when he injured his neck in a match against Eddie Kingston. There is no word on when he will return to the ring. It was a big return. Check out how much of a force Archer can be in AEW: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: It is always great to see someone r..

It’s Been A Long Road: Legendary Tag Team Announces Farewell Tour

January 13, 2022 • Admin

It’s been a ride. There is one thing that is true of all wrestlers: at some point, they are going to wrap up their careers. Sometimes this is just a detail at the end of a less than impactful career, but there are other wrestlers who get to ride off into the sunset after an all time run. That seems to be the case again, at least for what made a pair of wrestlers famous. Ricky Morton has announced that Rock N Roll Express will be holding their Farewell Tour beginning on January 22. There is no word on when the tour will end or when their final match as a team will take place. The team has been together since the late 1980s and have won titles around the world, including five reigns as the NWA World Tag Team Champions. Morton specified that he is not retiring from wrestling, but only from teaming with Robert Gibson as the Rock N Roll Express, citing a desire to work more behind the scenes and to team with his son. It is not clear if Gibson will continue to wrestler. Rock & Roll Express..

WATCH: A New Monster Makes His AEW Debut

January 13, 2022 • Admin

Welcome to the family. One of the most fascinating things you can see in wrestling is a debut. A new wrestler coming into a promotion can change how things work on the show, especially if they make an impact right out of the gate. That can be quite the big moment and that seems to be what we had this week, as a new star made their debut on a bigger stage. This week on AEW Dynamite, Brody King made his debut, helping Malakai Black against the Varsity Blonds and Penta El Zero Miedo. King debuted as the newest member of the House of Black, after having been teased by Black a few weeks ago. King is a former Ring of Honor Tag Team Champion and one half of the reigning Pro Wrestling Guerrilla Tag Team Champions with Black. It was a big moment. Check out King’s debut, plus what he is bringing to AEW: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: This is the kind of debut that could make a nice im..

AEW Dynamite Live Coverage And Results – January 12, 2022

January 13, 2022 • Admin

Dynamite Date: January 12, 2022 Location: PNC Arena, Raleigh, North Carolina Commentators: Jim Ross, Tony Schiavone, Excalibur It’s time to get a bit more back to normal after last week’s major show. That could mean a few things this week, as AEW has a bit of a strange definition of normal. World Champion Hangman Page is here and we have a showdown between CM Punk and Wardlow, which means MJF will be around too. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Here are Adam Cole and ReDragon for a chat. Cole brags about how awesome the three of them are and how he is undefeated in singles action. ReDragon is the baddest team in wrestling….but here are the Young Bucks and Brandon Cutler to interrupt. Cole tries to play peacemaker and they all seem to be friends, because both teams are better than people like the Best Friends. Cue the Best Friends and Orange Cassidy, with Cole calling their music stupid. The fight is on in a hurry but Cole hits Cassidy low. The beatdown is on but Kris Stadtlander ..
