WATCH: Mick Foley Reveals Extortion Attempt Against Him, Social Media Hacked

August 2, 2022 • Admin

That’s a thing that can happen. Wrestling has changed a lot in recent years and those are not changed that can be reversed. One of the biggest changes has come through social media, as wrestlers are now more accessible than they ever have been before. That has several benefits but also several downsides, one of which was learned firsthand recently by a wrestling legend. Over the weekend, WWE Hall Of Famer Mick Foley announced via Facebook that his Twitter had been hacked, with the hacker attempting to extort money from him. As a result, Foley asked fans not to interact with his Twitter until he told them via video that the account was back under his control. Foley has since released a video announcing that he was able to regain control without having to pay the hacker. This is good to hear. Check out Foley’s announcement with some more details about what happened: [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: This is something that unfortunately happens every now and then and ..

NXT UK Results – July 28, 2022

August 2, 2022 • Admin

NXT UK Date: July 28, 2022 Location: BT Sports Studios, London, England Commentators: Nigel McGuinness, Andy Shepherd It’s title time again this week as Ilja Dragunov remembers that he is the United Kingdom Champion and defends against Wolfgang. Gallus has been doing better in recent weeks with Mark Coffey winning the Heritage Cup so maybe we are in for some more of their momentum. Other than that, I’m sure it will be the usual random assortment around here. Let’s get to it. The opening video runs down tonight’s card. Opening sequence. Tag Team Titles: Josh Briggs/Brooks Jensen vs. Wild Boar/Mark Andrews Boar and Andrews, who commentary says have been friends for years, are challenging. Boar cranks on Jensen’s arm to start and Andrews comes in to work on the knee. A blind tag brings Briggs in though and a double shoulder runs Boar over. It’s back to Andrews, who gets planted with an assisted powerslam and the chinlock goes on. Briggs comes back in for a chinlock of his own but thr..

He Has A Chance: This WWE Star Is Likely To Benefit From Triple H Taking Over

August 2, 2022 • Admin

Call it a hope spot? WWE has changed quite a bit in recent weeks and those changes are likely to continue for the time being. This has centered around Vince McMahon stepping away from the company with Triple H taking over as head of talent relations and creative. That means some people are going to be getting a chance that they have not received before and that was on display this week. According to Fightful Select, Ciampa is expected to benefit from Triple H’s rise to power in WWE. Ciampa was a top star in NXT when Triple H was in charge and that is expected to be the case again on the main roster. This week on Monday Night Raw, Ciampa won a pair of matches to become the new #1 contender to the United States Title, with high shot against Bobby Lashley coming next week. Opinion: This isn’t the biggest surprise but it is certainly welcome news. Ciampa is someone who has yet to get anything resembling a serious chance during this run on the main roster and I have no idea why. He has th..

Hit The Gas: More On The Brock Lesnar Tractor Spot At Summerslam

August 2, 2022 • Admin

That’s a big tractor. Summerslam has come and gone and the show certainly saw some changes for WWE. It was the first major show without Vince McMahon in charge of the company and that meant WWE needed to make some kind of an impact. A lot of that came in the main event which featured one of the stranger things that WWE has done in a rather long time. Now we know a bit more about what happened. The main event of Summerslam was a Last Man Standing match with Roman Reigns defending the WWE Universal Title against Brock Lesnar. During the match, Lesnar drove a tractor to the ring and lifted it up off the ground. According to PWInsider.com, the spot was “rougher and harder” than originally planned. There was a rehearsal for the spot earlier in the night, with a production worker driving the tractor. From another angle. Check out a different look at the tractor moving the ring: [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: That is certainly something you do not see every day and it..

Try It Again: Sasha Banks And Naomi Reportedly Returning To WWE

August 2, 2022 • Admin

Welcome back? There have been a lot of changes to WWE over the course of the year and a lot of them have taken place in front of the camera. Those are the ones that people notice and one of the biggest changes of them all came back in May when Naomi and Sasha Banks walked out. The two have not been seen on WWE TV since, but like so much else, things might be about to change. Earlier this week, Wrestlingnews.co reported that Banks and Naomi had reached a deal to return to WWE and could have appeared on Monday Night Raw as early as this week. That did not happen, but according to Wrestling Observer Live, at least one source said that a deal had been made for the two to return to the company. It is not clear what this means for the two of them or the Women’s Tag Team Titles, which were vacated when they left back in May. Opinion: This is something that seems to have been gathering momentum since the regime change in WWE and now it seems like the two should be back soon. I’m not the bigg..

WATCH: Injured SmackDown Star Is Looking Great In Recovery

August 2, 2022 • Admin

He’s getting there. Injuries are one of the few things that can slow down any wrestler no matter how hot they are. Someone can be just fine one day and then be out for months starting on the next, and that can be absolutely devastating for a wrestler’s career. That was the case earlier this year, and now we have a positive update on their long road to recovery. Earlier this year at WrestleMania 38, Rick Boogs suffered a torn quadricep muscle that would require surgery and put him on the shelf for several months. Boogs has posted a new video of himself lifting weights in the gym while standing. There is still no word on when Boogs will be back in action, though it has been about four months since he had his surgery. He is certainly energetic. Check out what Boogs has been up to: [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: That is quite the impressive feat, as Boogs has only been out of action for a few months and is already starting to get back to his old form. There is somet..

How They See Them: Here’s Who WWE Sees As The Top Women On Television

August 2, 2022 • Admin

Some people never change. There are a good deal of talented people on the WWE roster and fans know a lot about almost all of them. They know who they like and who they don’t like, which often has quite a bit to do with how the wrestlers act. Some are heroes and some are villains, but at times it might seem to be the opposite. Now we know how things are set up behind the scenes. WWE presented its annual Summerslam event over the weekend, which featured a pair of Women’s Title matches. Bianca Belair defeated Becky Lynch to retain the Raw Women’s Title, with the two shaking hands after. Later, Ronda Rousey failed to regain the SmackDown Women’s Title from Liv Morgan, causing Rousey to attack a group of referees. According to PWInsider.com, Lynch is currently listed as the #2 babyface woman on the Monday Night Raw roster, behind Belair, while Rousey is listed as the #1 babyface woman on the SmackDown roster. Opinion: This is one of those things that could regularly change and it is hard ..

Monday Night Raw Results – August 1, 2022

August 2, 2022 • Admin

Monday Night Raw Date: August 1, 2022 Location: Toyota Center, Houston, Texas Commentators: Jimmy Smith, Corey Graves, Byron Saxton We’re done with Summerslam and things feel like they have been reset around here. We get to see what is going on with the first Raw of the new regime and there is a good chance that there are going to be some changes. That should make for a fun night and that is what the show needs. Let’s get to it. Here is Becky Lynch, in far more normal clothes and her arm in a sling, to get things going. After a look back at Bianca Belair beating Lynch at Summerslam and the return/debuts of Bayley/Dakota Kai/Iyo Sky (Io Shirai), Becky talks about knowing that she has remembered who she is. Lynch may have separated her shoulder but she knows she gave it her all at Summerslam and knows that no man defines her. She defines the man and now we start a new era, but first she wants Belair out here. Belair obliges and says that Lynch is the man and respect is shown. Lynch le..

Beast Gone? You Might Not Be Seeing Brock Lesnar For A Pretty Long Time

August 2, 2022 • Admin

There he is again. There is no one in wrestling history like Brock Lesnar, who is one of the most incredible athletes the industry has ever seen. Lesnar is not only a former NCAA Heavyweight Champion in wrestling, but he is also a powerhouse second to very few. It means a lot to see him in a WWE match and now we know when we might be seeing him next. Lesnar has been advertised for the upcoming Day One event in Atlanta, Georgia on Sunday January 1, 2023. This is currently the next advertised appearance for Lesnar, who lost to Roman Reigns in the main event of Summerslam in a Last Man Standing match. There is no word on whether Lesnar will be appearing again before Day One and there is always the chance that the appearance could be changed. Although many thought it could be Lesnar's last WWE match at SummerSlam, turns out it might not be the case. The Beast is advertised for Day 1, 2023. https://t.co/QRAjPWANPG pic.twitter.com/XuCwRR5cHb — Anirban Banerjee (@pwanirban) August 1..

Becky Lynch Suffers Separated Shoulder at SummerSlam

August 1, 2022 • Admin

You hate to see it. According to a report from Bryan Alvarez on Wrestling Observer Live. Becky Lynch suffered a separated shoulder at SummerSlam during her match with Bianca Belair. From the report: “Becky Lynch took the Jaded (Glam Slam) and landed sideways, she landed on her side. Having separated my shoulder twice wrestling, I knew immediately that was not good. She started grabbing her shoulder, and she was grabbing her shoulder throughout the rest of the match,” Alvarez said. He continued, “We can confirm today that she did suffer a shoulder separation. I don’t know the extent of it, there are several grades of shoulder separation. She did finish the match, and she was using her arm, and she was favoring it, but she was lifting and doing all of her spots so I’m hoping it is an injury that she can come back from very quickly.” We will continue monitoring the story and provide updates as they become available. Editor’s Opinion: I was afraid of this. During the match, I also n..

Ronda Rousey Suspended By WWE

August 1, 2022 • Admin

I guess you can’t do that. According to a report from WWE.com, Ronda Rousey has been fined an undisclosed amount and will be suspended from the company. This is due to her attack on referee Dan Engler at SummerSlam 2022, following her match with Liv Morgan for the Smackdown Women’s Championship. The attack came after Rousey was upset that she made Morgan tap out to an arm bar submission; however, she did so while her shoulders were on the mat and the referee counted to three. The referee did not see the tap, and as a result, Morgan retained her championship. Due to her suspension, Rousey will not appear on this week’s Friday Night SmackDown. We will continue to monitor the story and provide updates as they become available. Editor’s Opinion: This is a safe way to write Rousey off of television and not make the champion look weak. On paper, it would seem like this was a complete mismatch at SummerSlam and might not have been believable to have the champion defeat such a decorated c..

RUMOR: RAW Said To Be “Really Good” Tonight

August 1, 2022 • Admin

This is only a rumor, so take it for what it’s worth. According to a tweet from the WrestleVotes Twitter account, tonight’s episode of raw he said to be looking really good and is a packed show. The tweet further states that the show is looking so good that the USA Network is allowing the 1st hour to be commercial-free if WWE wants. I’m told RAW tonight looks really good as of now, and is a packed show. So much so, USA Network is allowing the 1st hour to be commercial free if WWE wants. — WrestleVotes (@WrestleVotes) August 1, 2022 Tonight will be the first episode of Raw that is completely under the control of Triple H since he took over the role of head of creative. The company is coming off a very successful Summerslam event that had many people in the wrestling community buzzing about the future of WWE. Another Kind Of #1: The Usos Did Something For The First Time Ever At Summerslam

August 1, 2022 • Admin

There’s a first time for everything. WWE presented its annual Summerslam event over the weekend, marking the thirty fifth edition of the show. As usual, the event was one of the biggest of the year and featured some of the top names in all of WWE. That means making it onto the card is a big deal, and it turns out that two of the people on the show did something no one has ever done before. One of the matches on the Summerslam card saw the Usos successfully defend the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Titles against the Street Profits. According to the Wrestling Stats & Info Twitter account, this marks the first time that a team has defended a Tag Team Title at consecutive Summerslams (not counting Kickoff Shows). The Usos defeated the Mysterios at Summerslam 2021 and have held the titles for over a year. Not counting kickoff matches, the @WWEUsos are the first duo in @WWE history to defend a tag team title at two consecutive #SummerSlam PPV events. — Wrestling Stats & Info (@WWEStats) July 31..

She’s In? WWE Summerslam May Have Turned A Hollywood Star Into A Wrestling Fan

August 1, 2022 • Admin

Welcome aboard. Wrestling is a weird universe when it comes to mainstream recognition as it exists in its own very firm bubble. You are either in the wrestling world or not and it is an industry that is often looked down upon as a result. It can be fun to see someone well known for something outside of wrestling get involved and that might have been the case again this weekend. WWE held its annual Summerslam event over the weekend and as usual it was one of their biggest shows of the year. Actress Kat Dennings, best known for her roles in the Thor movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Two Broke Girls tweeted about the show, saying that it was her first Summerslam and made her feel unwell. She followed that with a tweet saying that she thinks she loves WWE. Just watched my first #SummerSlam and I am unwell — Kat Dennings (@OfficialKat) July 31, 2022 Oh no I think I love @WWE — Kat Dennings (@OfficialKat) July 31, 2022 Opinion: This is one of those things that WWE can brag ab..

Call It A Win: Medical Update On Ric Flair Following His Last Match

August 1, 2022 • Admin

That could have been worse. There are legends in wrestling and then there are people like Ric Flair. After a career that has spanned the better part of fifty years, Flair was finally ready to hang it up after this weekend’s appropriately titled Ric Flair’s Last Match event. Flair has been training for months, but there is only so much that can be done at 73 years old. The match has taken place, and now we know a bit about how he is doing. Flair teamed with Andrade El Idolo to defeat Jay Lethal and Jeff Jarrett in his final match, which saw him busted open. According to PWInsider.com, Flair was immediately checked out by two doctors backstage and was said to be “great” after the match. Flair also said that he was starving and wanted to get something to eat as he headed out on the town for the evening. Opinion: As disturbing as it is, Flair’s health was the thing people were talking about the most coming into the match so hearing that he is ok is great to see. At the same time, Flair g..

Reassigned: High Profile Name No Longer Part Of WWE Creative

August 1, 2022 • Admin

Fare thee well. WWE has a lot of people working together to make their events work. That is the kind of thing that is easier said than done, and it can be difficult to find the right mixture of names. This includes putting together all of the stories that you see the matches built around, but it seems that a fairly high profile member of the team has been gone for quite some time. According to PWInsider.com, Dana Warrior left the WWE creative team several months ago, ending a run that started in early 2019. Warrior, the widow of Hall of Famer the Ultimate Warrior, had mainly been working from home and was not on the road with WWE. She will continue to work full time with the community relations and community outreach teams, meaning there is nothing to suggest there is heat between the two sides. Opinion: Warrior’s name hadn’t come up much in recent months so this isn’t the biggest shock. While she may have seemed like a weird hire for the creative team, there is nothing to suggest th..

Cut It Down: Summerslam Match Lost Time After Another Match Ran Long

August 1, 2022 • Admin

Call it a sacrifice. Over the weekend, WWE presented its annual Summerslam event, featuring some of the biggest matches of the year. The show featured a series of title matches, including some rather big showdowns. One of the last matches of the show certainly fit that description, but it did not wind up lasting very long. It turns out that was due to another match entirely. The semi-main event of Summerslam saw Ronda Rousey failing to regain the SmackDown Women’s Title from Liv Morgan. The two went to a controversial ending with Morgan tapping out just before she pinned Rousey, though the referee only saw the pin. It was a relatively short match at less than five minutes, which was due to another match running long. According to Bryan Alvarez, the match had “a lot” of time cut due to Miz vs. Logan Paul running long earlier in the night. There is no word on how long Morgan vs. Rousey was scheduled to last. That match had a lot of time cut because Miz and Logan went long. HOW ABOUT WE..

WRESTLING RUMORS: Becky Lynch Possibly Injured During Summerslam Match

August 1, 2022 • Admin

It’s always a possibility. Wrestlers are some of the hardest working athletes you will see anywhere and they put their bodies through some incredible effort every time they get in the ring. Unfortunately there is always the chance that someone is going to get hurt, which is a possibility for everyone on the card. It very well may have happened again to a fairly big name. Becky Lynch lost to Bianca Belair in a Raw Women’s Title match during the opening match of this weekend’s WWE Summerslam. According to Wrestlingnews.co, Lynch was seen favoring her shoulder throughout the match and left the stadium with the WWE medical team. There is no word on what happened to Lynch or how severe any possible injury may be, assuming the injury was a legitimate one. Opinion: This is something that can happen at any point in a match and that is never something you want to see. Lynch is one of the biggest stars in the WWE women’s division and arguably one of the biggest in the entire company and it wou..

Second Chance: News On New Stable Formed At WWE Summerslam

July 31, 2022 • Admin

I guess he wasn’t a fan. There have been a lot of changes to WWE in recent weeks and the biggest has been the departure of Vince McMahon. After about forty years of running the company, McMahon has finally retired, taking with him a long legacy. One piece of that legacy is turning down ideas that might have flourished, which very well might be the case again. Over the weekend, WWE presented its annual Summerslam event, with Raw Women’s Champion Bianca Belair successfully defending her title. After the match, Bayley returned and was accompanied by Io Shirai and Dakota Kai. According to Fightful Select, the stable was originally pitched to McMahon but he shot the idea down. There is no word on the upcoming plans for the team. Opinion: I’m intrigued by the idea of the new trio, if nothing else because they are a fresh idea. That is something that has been lacking from WWE for a long time now and maybe there is something to the team. If nothing else, it could be interesting to see what h..

WATCH: Here’s What Happened After WWE Summerslam Ended

July 31, 2022 • Admin

There’s one more thing to do. Over the weekend, WWE presented its annual Summerslam show, which was certainly eventful. The show was the first major event following Vince McMahon’s retirement from the company, which meant that things were changing in a hurry. WWE needed to do something big for the show and that is what they did in the main event, though there was one more thing to do. The main event of Summerslam was a Last Man Standing match with Roman Reigns defending the WWE Universal Title against Brock Lesnar. During the match, Lesnar used a tractor to lift the ring up, which stayed off the ground throughout the rest of the show. After the show was over, Lesnar got back into the elevated ring to retrieve his cowboy hat, which earned an ovation from the crowd. It was a strange visual. Check out what Lesnar did after the show: [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: This might not have meant that much, but it served as a nice enough sendoff for Lesnar. The visual alone..
