Viper Memories: Randy Orton Posts Tribute To Umaga And Rosey

That’s a special tribute. There have been a lot of wrestlers to come and go throughout the years and unfortunately some of them are no longer here. That could be due to a variety of reasons but so many of them have left before they should have. Other wrestlers will remember them quite fondly and that is what Randy Orton is doing with a departed former WWE star.

Earlier this week, a fan posted a photo to Twitter showing presumable himself posing with Randy Orton and Umaga. Orton responded, thanking the fan for posting the picture and saying we are coming up on the anniversary of Umaga’s passing. He called Umaga the “OG head of the table” and also mentioned Matty Anoa’i (Rosey). Orton also said “So many memories. Too many brothers lost”. Umaga passed away on December 4, 2009 at 36.
I’m very happy you posted this pic. I’ll save it. Anniversary is coming up where we lost the Samoan Bulldozer. I wish I was..

Positive Injury Update on Hangman Adam Page Before AEW Full Gear

On the October 18th episode of AEW Dynamite: Title Tuesday, Hangman Adam Page suffered a serious concussion injury in his AEW World Championship match against Jon Moxely. Aside from some general news, there haven’t been many reports on how his health is progressing, especially with AEW Full Gear just hours away.
During the recent AEW media call with Tony Khan, one of the questions that was posed to the AEW President was how Hangman has been doing and his health status before AEW Full Gear. According to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful, Tony Khan said the following:
Tony Khan says Hangman Page is healing well following his concussion

Related: Very Important Update On Hangman Page’s Injury Status “Healing” is the key word here. There have been no indications that Hangman Adam Page is ready to return to the ring. There doesn’t seem to be any reason to believe that Hangman will be at AEW Full Gear tonight as a performer.

RUMOR: Tony Khan May Strip Women’s Championship From AEW Star; Thunder Rosa Reacts

When Thunder Rosa relinquished the AEW Women’s Championship back in August, the rumor mill went wild on her “injury status” and a bunch of other fabricated information. The title has been an Interim World Championship until her return on AEW television.
Toni Storm claimed the belt and became the AEW Interim Women’s Champion at All Out in September. Everything has been going alright since then, but there’s a little bet of a booking issue. Storm is having a good reign, but it’s been a bit overshadowed by the return of Saraya and Britt Baker stealing the show.
Related: MJF Talks WWE With Tony Khan After AEW Dynamite A lot of the issue is that the AEW fanbase doesn’t love the concept of “Interim Champions.” There’s a valid argument that it makes the company’s championships a little less valuable. The long term play always seemed to be Toni Storm vs. Thunder Rosa down the line.
However, a new report shared AEW President Tony Khan’s thoughts on the potential decision to strip Thunder Rosa..

A Scary Situation: Backstage Feelings On Adam Cole’s Health Status

That’s a bad sign. Injuries are one of the worst things that can happen to a wrestler as anyone can be put on the shelf for any amount of time. It can be made even worse if there is no way of knowing how long a wrestler is going to be out of action. That seems to be the case again with an AEW star, and now his injury status has gone on for so long that people are worried.

AEW’s Adam Cole was injured on June 26 at Forbidden Door, suffering a concussion during his match. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, “a number of people” are concerned about Cole’s injury status, though who or why was not explained. Cole has only appeared on AEW television once since his injury and there is nothing to suggest that he is ready to return to the ring anytime soon. In addition to his concussion, Cole was dealing with a torn labrum going into Full Gear. In his absence, Cole has been regularly streaming on Twitch.

PHOTO: Alexa Bliss Literally Suffers Bloody Injury Coming Home to Her Dogs

Alexa Bliss is one of the most marketable stars that WWE has under contract, which often means a crazy schedule that keeps her away from home for significant stretches of time. Anyone with pets will tell you how hard it is to leave them for an extended period of time.
The five-time WWE Women’s Champion just went more than 20 days being home. RingSideNews followed the story of her day on social media. The story goes that she went home for a “visit” and could only stay for about 8 hours. However, her dogs were so happy to see her after basically three weeks away that Alexa Bliss suffered a bloody lip in all the excitement.
Potentially sensitive photo is below:

It’s not anything that will keep her out of the ring, but we’ve all gotten a happy scratch or love bite from our pets, especially after some time apart. It’s just a testament ..

AEW Full Gear 2022 Preview, Predictions And Thoughts

It’s time for another AEW pay per view and as has been the case for a pretty good while now, things are not exactly feeling the most interesting at the moment. The World Title match doesn’t have the most personal setup and the rest of the show is feeling a bit hit or miss. That being said, the idea of AEW having a bad pay per view seems completely insane so I have quite a bit of confidence in what they are going to do. Let’s get to it.
Zero Hour: Jun Akiyama vs. Eddie Kingston
This is a match that was added after this week’s Rampage went off the air. In short, this is Kingston’s dream match and….I’m struggling to come up with a reason that should interest me. Akiyama is a legend, but there is no real reason for the two of them to be fighting other than Kingston just saying he wanted it to happen. For some reason this is added to the pre-show and now the night is even longer than it needed to be.
I’ll go with Akiyama winning, as AEW seems to like the idea of doing everything they can..

WATCH: Bianca Belair Has Her Eye On Very Specific Film Role

She has goals. Wrestling and acting are often seen as going hand in hand despite only having a little bit to do with each other. However, there are some wrestlers who fit in rather nicely in the acting world and become quite the successes. Every wrestler turned actor has to start somewhere though and now a prominent wrestler has her eyes set on what would be a pretty big role.
In a new interview with Comicbook.com, Raw Women’s Champion Bianca Belair said she hopes to move into Hollywood and land the role as Storm in an X-Men movie. This is not the first time that Belair has said this, as she previously mentioned wanting the role in 2022. At the moment, there is nothing to suggest that Marvel is considering Belair for the role, or that Storm will be portrayed in a movie anytime soon.
There is a lot here. Check out the interview, plus Belair doing her more familiar job:

REVIEW: Survivor Series 2003: The Stakes Are High

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over ten years now and have reviewed over 5,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net, starting today. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be?
Survivor Series 2003
Date: November 16, 2003
Location: American Airlines Center, Dallas, Texas
Attendance: 13,487
Commentators: Jim Ross, Jerry Lawler, Michael Cole, Tazz
This is another big one and it’s also a one sided show. The Smackdown offerings are about as uninteresting as they could be while the Raw side looks at at least marginally better. This isn’t a great show on paper and I have a bad feeling that it’s going to be even worse as it actually takes place. Let’s get to it.

AEW Rampage Results – November 18, 2022

Rampage
Date: November 18, 2022
Location: Prudential Center, Newark, New Jersey
Commentators: Jim Ross, Tony Schiavone, Chris Jericho, Excalibur
It’s the go home show for Full Gear and the show has quite a bit set up in advance. The main story is advancing a tournament whose finals have been moved from Full Gear to next week, which is the best option that AEW had all things considered. Other than that, we have a special guest star so let’s get to it.
Opening sequence.
Full Gear Contenders Tournament First Round: Ricky Starks vs. Lance Archer
We start in the back (as originally planned and with Starks in street clothes) with the two of them taking turns sending each other into a metal garage door. Archer sends a backstage worker into a bunch of chairs and now they head into the arena, with Archer dragging him towards the ring. A right hand knocks Starks most of the way over a barricade and they go into the crowd with Starks diving onto him. They get to ringside, where Archer runs hi..

Double Threat: Britt Baker Reveals Her Very Unique AEW Backstage Role

No one else could do it. There are some very talented people in wrestling and it can be fascinating to see them do their thing either in the ring or on the microphone. At the same time though, they have several other talents that you might not consider while watching them in the ring. Now one of the more prominent AEW stars is using her abilities outside the ring to help her home promotion.

Britt Baker is a former AEW Women’s Champion as well as a practicing dentist, who works at her medical practice when she is not working for AEW. According to a new interview with Muscle And Fitness, Baker revealed that anytime there is a mouth or tooth injury during an AEW match, she joins the medical team in the trainer’s room. Baker referred to herself as the “on-call dentist” for AEW. She is scheduled to face Saraya this weekend at AEW Full Gear.

He Would Know: MVP Clarifies Recent Speculation About His In-Ring Future

He would know best. Wrestlers have a difficult task when it comes to retirement. Since there is no off season in wrestling, it is easy to keep taking one more match and keep going on and on. Some of them do figure out a way to get away from the ring but you might not always see it coming. Now a current WWE star is having to explain that he is not ready to hang it up just yet.

Monday Night Raw star MVP recently responded to a tweet asking what is one thing he would never buy again. MVP said “wrestling boots”, which led fans to wonder if he was announcing his retirement. As a result, MVP responded, saying that he meant he would never buy another pair because he has several and was not announcing his retirement from the ring. MVP is currently managing Monday Night Raw’s Omos and wrestled his most recent match on the July 18, 2022 Monday Night Raw.

He’s up next. We are less than eight days away from Survivor Series, which will feature the first WarGames matches on a main WWE roster show. There will be two WarGames matches on the show, with a men’s and women’s edition. Most of the women’s match is already set, but this week, the men’s match was not only made official, but the field was officially completed.
