AEW’s Sting recently appeared on the K&C Masterpiece podcast and revealed he had knee surgery “six or seven weeks ago” in order to clear his knees out. Sting also spoke about how important physical therapy is to the recovery process. He did not say when he would be able to return to the ring. Sting last wrestled at AEW Full Gear on November 19 in a tag match.

She’s a surprise. WWE has all kinds of wrestlers on its roster, which allows it to offer a variety of matches with different stars included. That can make for some interesting moments, but at some point WWE needs to bring in some fresh names to spice things up a bit. They may have done that again, albeit with a name that might be a bit surprising given her history.

According to Fightful Select, Kylie Rae wrestled at this week’s WWE Main Event taping under the name Briana Ray, facing Dana Brooke. This comes after Rae participated in a WWE tryout camp earlier this month, though it is not clear if Rae has been signed to a contract. Rae has wrestled for All Elite Wrestling, Impact Wrestling and the NWA. However, Rae has walked away from promotions multiple times on little notice, with mental health issues often being rumored (though not confirmed) as the reason.

We are crawling towards the Royal Rumble and it seems like the build has been put on the back burner for at least a few more weeks. This time around the main focal point is finding a new #1 contender for the United States Title as Bobby Lashley faces Seth Rollins in what should be a good one. Let’s get to it.
Opening sequence.
Bayley vs. Alexa Bliss For the #1 contendership to Bianca Belair and the rest of Damage Ctrl is here with Bayley. Not that it matters as here is Becky Lynch to beat up Iyo Sky and Dakota Kai and chase them out of the arena with a chair, leaving it one on one. Cue Bianca Belair to watch from ringside. Bliss starts fast and knocks Bayley outside, where it’s time for a breather. Back in and Bayley gets smart by stomping on the foot, earning herself a running crossbody. Bayley manages to knock her outside again though and we take a break…

Pick up your last check. In the closing moments of Raw this week, WWE official Adam Pearce got into a confrontation with Bobby Lashley following his main event match with Seth Rollins.
The All Mighty was about to win the match and an opportunity at the United States Championship against Austin Theory when the referee was knocked out of the ring and twisted his ankle. This slight distraction allowed Rollins to recover and hit Lashley with a Pedigree out of a spear. Rollins would then make the cover to become the no. 1 contender for the championship.
Following the match, Lashley would snap and take out his aggression on two referees. This caused Pearce to come to ringside for a confrontation and and after Lashley pushed Pierce down, Pierce said that The All Mighty was fired.

It might be a bit. WWE is a very large company and has several wrestlers to keep track of at any given amount of time. What matters is having those wrestlers ready to go but sometimes there are situations that have to be dealt with to keep them in the ring. That is the case again and now we will not be seeing a Monday Night Raw star while he is off dealing with something.

Last week on Monday Night Raw, Solo Sikoa attacked Matt Riddle, resulting in him being taken out on a stretcher. On SmackDown, an announcement was made that Riddle would be missing for six weeks, bringing him back in late January. However, according to Bodyslam.net, Riddle was written off television due to failing a drug test leading up to Summerslam. Riddle was told that if he failed another test, it would result in him going to rehab or being fired. Riddle failed another test and chose rehab, causing him to be written off TV. Ther..

You need a hook. With so many WWE events per year, it can be difficult to find something that makes them special. What is supposed to make the show that much more interesting than any of the other shows that are taking place? One of the best ways is to add in something unique, and now WWE is considering trying something that will make the shows stand out more.

Over the weekend, Jamie Noble appeared as a mystery partner for Braun Strowman and the Brawling Brutes as the team defeated the Bloodline at a WWE live event in Charleston, West Virginia. The match served as Noble’s retirement match and marked the first time that he had wrestled in over seven years. According to Fightful Select, WWE is considering presenting more matches like this one at live events, as they want to offer fans a unique reason to come to the shows. There is no word on what kind of matches WWE might present.

You do not see that happening very often, but it can make for a rather interesting subject. It might be interesting enough to take a special look at them, which is what WWE may be trying to do.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE has been in talks with the E Network about a reality show based around wrestling couples. WWE is reportedly looking for “legitimate” wrestling couples, though it is not known who might be included in the series. There is also no word on if the series has been finalized, though WWE and E do have a history together with Total Divas and Total Bellas.

Moving up in the world. As previously reported, William Regal is returning to WWE after his contract expires with AEW this month. However, it seems he will be returning to a different role than before.
According to a report from PWInsider, Regal will have a Vice President position in the company when he returns, but it is not yet known what his official title/role will be. He will return to the company beginning in January 2023.
Regal was written off of AEW television a couple of weeks ago when MJF knocked him out with the same brass knuckles that Regal gave him to win the AEW World Heavyweight Championship. Further according to Tony Khan, Regal can return to WWE and coach but not be an on-air personality in 2023.

It is already time to start setting the stage for some of the matches and getting things ready in advance. WWE might even already have some plans made for a showdown between two of the hardest hitting stars they have to offer.

WWE has put together something of a conveyor belt of stars, with NXT names being promoted to the main roster. The company has it down to something of a science and now we know a lot more about what kind of process they have put together.
