Date: December 15, 2022
Location: Charles F. Dodge City Center, Pembroke Pines, Florida
Commentators: Matthew Rehwoldt, Tom Hannifan
We are less than a month away from Hard To Kill and the title situations are rather interesting. We have the Major Brothers coming after the Tag Team Titles, Jordynne Grace vs. Mickie James set for a title vs. career match and Josh Alexander defending against Bully Ray. That’s a lot to build towards so let’s get to it.
Opening recap.
Eddie Edwards vs. Delirious This was going to be last week’s main event but then Josh Alexander vs. Mike Bailey almost hit an hour so it was punted to this week. They go technical to start and that’s good for a standoff. Edwards can’t grab an O’Connor roll but he can chop Delirious down, only to have Delirious come back up with a leg lariat.
An overhead belly to belly cuts that off in a hurry though and Eddie can fire off more chops. Delirious starts running the ropes in that bizarre manner of his so Edwa..

Import: WWE Considers Bringing In Other Company’s Champion For Royal Rumble

She’s a name. We are just over two weeks away from the end of the year and that means it is time to start getting ready for the start of the Road To WrestleMania 39. The first step in that process is going to be the Royal Rumble, where several stars are going to be needed to fill in the show’s namesake matches. You will often see names from outside the company popping in, and now we might be set for another one.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, New Japan’s Kairi (formerly known as Kairi Sane in WWE) is rumored to be part of the Women’s Royal Rumble match. However, this plan may have changed as Sane is now the IWGP Women’s Champion. WWE has brought in talent from other promotions before, as Impact Wrestling Knockouts Champion Mickie James competed in this year’s Women’s Royal Rumble, with Impact Wrestling being acknowledged on the broadcast.

Opinion: AEW’s Future Should NOT Involve ex-WWE Talent

Last week on Dynamite, MJF and Ricky Starks had a match that tore the house down. The storytelling was fantastic, the action was great, and the build up leading into the match made me very emotionally interested to see what was going to happen. This was Starks’ breakout match, and I hope it leads to him being a main event player in AEW for a long time.
However, as I was watching the show the last week, I realized something very, very important. And it’s something that could be the foundation for how AEW operates in the future.
In my opinion, the future of AEW does not involve ex-WWE talent, but rather the stars it is creating on its own.
I’ve said for a long time that Tony Khan has relied too much on talent from other promotions that were either released, or decided to leave, because they thought the grass would be greener on the other side. As we’ve seen with AEW’s booking, as well as how the superstars have been used, nothing could be further from the truth. We don’t know what we ..

Jake “The Snake” Roberts: “I Chose Drugs and Alcohol Over a Family”

Jake “The Snake” Roberts was recently interviewed by Bleacher Report where he discussed a number of topics. Among them were almost dying due to drugs and alcohol, becoming sober and who helped him along the way, joining AEW, and more.
Below are some questions, along with “The Snake”‘s answers:
Bleacher Report: Thanks to The Resurrection of Jake the Snake and the Vice episode, you aired significant issues which aren’t easy for anyone to discuss. How have your relationships with your family changed after addressing those pitfalls of the past?
Jake Roberts: “It’s gotten better. My oldest daughter and I are now golden. I have another daughter who’s golden. I have twin boys who are golden. But I do have four other children, who are…still holding their ground. I understand it. I’m not trying to shove anything down their throats.
“I’m guilty of everything I did and didn’t do. It’s more things that I didn’t do, because I was never around them when I was messed up or drunk or anything like..

RUMOR KILLER On Chris Jericho And Sasha Banks’ New Japan Payoffs

He would know. There are a lot of wrestlers in the professional wrestling industry, but one of the most important parts of the industry is the first word: professional. These wrestlers are out there competing for money and the more successful they have been in their careers, the more money they are going to make. Now one wrestler is setting the record straight, or at least straighter, on some of his pay issues.
Sasha Banks is currently set to debut with New Japan Pro Wrestling at the January 4 Wrestle Kingdom 17 event. A report earlier this week said that she would be making $100,000 per appearance, which was said to be more than Chris Jericho made for his appearances with the company. Jericho has since responded to the rumor, saying that he never had a flat appearance deal and was paid according to the event. In addition, Jericho said that he made more per event than he made for “MOST of my Wrestlemania matches”. Jericho wrestled six matches with New Japan from 2018-2020.

WRESTLING RUMORS: WWE Plans To Reunite Top NXT Tag Team On Main Roster After Four Years

Run it back? WWE has been undergoing a lot of changes in the last few months and those changes seem to be continuing for the time being. This includes some things that might have been prominent in NXT but are only starting to make their main roster debuts. Now another idea might be getting to showcase itself on the main roster for the first time in a long while (or ever, depending on how you look at it).
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: She Said No: More Details And Timeline On Mandy Rose’s WWE Firing
According to a new report by Xero News on Twitter, there are plans for DIY, comprised of Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa, to reunite on the main roster. Triple H is said to believe that the two would be a great addition to the tag team division before having them become singles wrestlers. Ciampa is currently out of action following hip surgery in October. There is no word on when he is expected to return. Gargano and Ciampa wrestled together a handful of times in 2019 but not under the DIY name..

She Said No: More Details And Timeline On Mandy Rose’s WWE Firing

The more you know. The biggest wrestling story of the week has been the surprise release of Mandy Rose from WWE. After an out of nowhere ending to her 413 day NXT Women’s Title reign, Rose was released from the company the following day. The release seems to be tied to Rose posting risque and adult photos to a subscription site. Now we know a bit more about what went down.

Wrestling Observer Radio has more details about the process that led to Rose’s firing. NXT trainer Matt Bloom reportedly informed NXT head Shawn Michaels about the photos, which caused Michaels to immediately make the decision to have Rose drop the title. The match between Rose and Roxanne Perez was originally planned for New Year’s Evil on January 10. Once the title change took place, Rose was let go from the company. Finally, Rose reportedly went further and further with her photos until WWE decided they went too far and ..

Yes So Fast: Update On Drew McIntyre’s WWE Return Status

Welcome back. Injuries are a terrible thing to see in wrestling, as they can leave someone on the shelf for a long time to come. The only good thing about an injury is that most of the time, a wrestler is able to get back in the ring. That leads to a guessing game about when they will return, and now we know when one of the bigger WWE stars will be returning to the ring.
IN CASE YOU’VE MISSED IT: He Did What? More On Huge Upset This Week On AEW Dynamite
Drew McIntyre has been out of action over the last three weeks due to a ruptured eardrum, with the injury coming during Survivor Series: WarGames. McIntyre was pulled from a Tag Team Title match against the Usos last week as a result but no return date was announced. However, Madison Square Garden’s official website is advertising McIntyre’s return on December 26 in an eight man tag, teaming with Braun Strowman, Kevin Owens and Sheamus against the Bloodline. There is no word on if McIntyre will wrestle before then.

WATCH: Miro Offers Update On His AEW Return Status

That’s not the same thing. With so many wrestlers on the AEW roster, it can be difficult to find time for everyone to get on the television shows. A wrestler falling through the cracks is certainly not uncommon and there are times where AEW just has nothing for them to do. That seems to be the case again with a current star, but now we are getting a bit of confusion over why he is missing.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: He Did What? More On Huge Upset This Week On AEW Dynamite
Miro has only wrestled four matches on AEW television this year, with his most recent taking place back in September. There have been varying reports about why, with one saying that AEW had nothing creative for him, which was refuted with a report saying that Miro rejected a story pitched to him. Miro was interviewed by Muse TV at the premier of National Treasure: Edge of History, where Miro was asked when he would be returning to AEW. In response, Miro said that it was not up to him, but that he was sitting and waitin..

That’s what’s up next. We are closing in on the end of the year and that means a lot of people are getting into the holiday season. This includes WWE as well, as the company has several things to take care of before the year is closed out. At the same time though, WWE is going to want to give its wrestlers a break from some of their regular shows, and that is what they covered this week.

He Did What? More On Huge Upset This Week On AEW Dynamite

He’s new. Wrestlers can have a very long shelf life in their careers as they are able to stay in the ring for several years. They can move up and down the card at various points in their career but at some point, someone has to get a special win over another star. We saw that this week on national television and now we know something else about how the whole thing came together.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Back Soon: AEW Star Reveals Recent Knee Surgery
This week on AEW Dynamite, Action Andretti made his debut on the she and defeated Chris Jericho in an upset. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, Jericho himself came up with the idea for Andretti to defeat him. Jericho saw Andretti face QT Marshall on the October 11 edition of Dark and decided to help Andretti become a star. However, Jericho was forced to wait until the end of his feud with Claudio Castagnoli before he could go through with his plans. AEW has since announced that Andretti has been signed to the company.
Congratulations..

Ouch: WWE Star Out Of Action With Injury

That explains it. Injuries are one of the most common problems that a wrestler faces, as you never know when someone is going to be put on the shelf. Wrestlers can get injured at any time and occasionally you won’t see it happen. That can require a promotion to write them off television and now that seems to have happened again with a current WWE star who was recently attacked.

According to PWInsider.com, Shotzi is dealing with a legitimate injury, resulting in the angle being shot. There is no word on what kind of injury Shotzi has suffered or how long she will be out of action.
