That’s a lot. Wrestlers can do a lot of things to improve their standing in a promotion and, in theory at least, make more money. That is the kind of thing that can be rather tricky as wrestlers have to figure out what fans want and then act accordingly. Now another wrestler is doing just that, and it seems to be going incredibly well, even if it has nothing to do with wrestling whatsoever.

Last week, WWE released Mandy Rose, reportedly over a series of controversial photos and videos Rose released on her FanTime subscription site. According to TMZ Sports, Rose has made $500,000 since being released, which could double as soon as Christmas Day on Sunday. Rose, 32 years old, has given no indication of when or if she will resume her wrestling career.

They have a fan. AEW has come a long way in just a few years’ time. The company was only announced at the beginning of 2019 and debuted later in the year, but is now the second biggest wrestling promotion in the United States. That is quite the impact, and it seems that they have gotten the attention of a rather large restaurant chain with a sense of humor.

The latest edition of Being The Elite features AEW stars the Young Bucks and Kenny Omega (the Elite) drinking from Wendy’s cups. The Wendy’s Twitter account then sent out an image saying that Wendy’s is now All Elite. Wendy’s went on to say that their burgers are squares, and squares have four sides, while triangles have three, meaning they picked the Elite to defeat the Death Triangle 4-3. This comes as the Elite and the Death Triangle are in the middle of a best of seven series for the AEW Trios Titles, with the Elite currently down 3-1. The Wendy’s account..

Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be?

We’ve got a one match show here and that doesn’t exactly instill me with confidence. This show is all about the Elimination Chamber, with John Cena defending the Raw World Title against five challengers. The only other match of note on the card is Big Show vs. HHH, but it’s a far cry from the main event. Let’s get to it.

Some wrestlers are talented and valuable enough to keep around after their in-ring careers are over and get to stick with the company in a backstage role. Over the weekend, Battleground Championship Wrestling presented its “Tribute To The Extreme” event at the 2300 Arena (formerly the ECW Arena) in Philadelphia. According to PWInsider.com, ECW legend and current NXT coach D-Von Dudley was pulled from his scheduled appearance at the show. Dudley was scheduled to appear at the convention before the event as well as in Bully Ray’s corner for Ray’s match later that night. The promotion received a letter from WWE, which took issue with an ECW tribute show airing, but the ..

One more on the list? We are about a month away from the 2023 Royal Rumble and that means it is time to start getting ready for one of the more complicated nights of the year. The Royal Rumble event will be featured around two of the show’s namesake matches, meaning sixty wrestlers will be needed. Some of them will be brought in from outside of WWE and one is willing to throw his hat in the ring.

During a recent interview with the Cheap Heat Productions podcast, WWE Hall Of Famer Bushwhacker Luke was asked about returning to WWE for the 2023 Royal Rumble. Luke said he would absolutely be in the match if he was asked, despite turning 76 years old in January. Luke still wrestles regularly on the independent circuit and last wrestled for WWE at WrestleMania X7 in 2001.

The more things change. WWE is a company that moves very quickly and it can be difficult to keep track of everything that is going on. When you add in the NXT shows, things can get even more complicated. Occasionally things will change at the drop of a hat and the domino effect can be very strong. That seems to have happened again, as a surprise release has caused other issues.

Last week, Mandy Rose lost the NXT Women’s Title to Roxanne Perez, ending Rose’s 400+ day reign as champion. The following day, Rose was released from the company, reportedly due to WWE not being happy with Rose posting risque content online. According to Xero News in a post before Rose lost the title, WWE planned to send Toxic Attraction, including Rose, to SmackDown when the title reign ended. At the same time, WWE was considering options for Rose, as they were unhappy with the content she was posting. There is no word on..

Stick around for a bit. AEW has come a long way in a not very long amount of time. The company has not even been around four years yet and already has a history of its own. A lot of this has been built around its inner core of wrestlers, which has remained mostly unchanged since the company started. It is time for one major contract to come up though and now we know a bit more about the situation.

According to Wrestling Observer Radio, Kenny Omega’s AEW original four year contract was expected to expire at the end of January 2023. However, he is currently advertised for the March 14 Dynamite in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. There is a possibility that Omega has signed a new deal, or that his contract was extended due to Omega missing several months due to injury.

It’s the last show before Christmas and possibly the last show of the year depending on what they do next week. There is still a lot of time before the Royal Rumble but we have another big match coming up on December 30. John Cena is on his way back to WWE and that should have some people talking. Let’s get to it.
Paul Heyman and Roman Reigns are here, with Reigns saying he is around here to deal with Kevin Owens. Reigns has been dealing with Owens and now he has to take care of John Cena again. Now, he is going to torture Owens until Raw acknowledges the Bloodline.

How to wrap things up. We are getting very close to the end of the year and than means it is time to look back at everything that happened over the course of 2022. WWE has had quite a collection of memorable moments and some of them are worth at least one more look. That is what we are going to be getting as WWE will be presenting a special edition of Monday Night Raw.

It was announced this week on Monday Night Raw that next week’s December 26 edition will be the “Absolute Best Of 2022”, featuring highlights and clips from throughout the year. This comes after WWE had no television taping announced for Monday night, as the company will instead be running a pair of live events at the same time. The show will return to its regular schedule on January 2.

Welcome back. One of the biggest trends of the new WWE regime has been the amount of returning superstars. After several wrestlers were released over the course of about a year and a half, a good number of them have returned now that Triple H is in a position of power. All kinds of returns have taken place and now another former champion has made a surprise appearance.

This week’s Monday Night Raw featured a ladder match between the Miz and Dexter Lumis. Late in the match, Bronson Reed, known elsewhere as Jonah, made a surprise return to take Lumis out, allowing Miz to win the match. Reed, 34 years old, is a former NXT North American Champion who was released from WWE in 2021. Following his departure from WWE, Reed wrestled for Impact Wrestling and New Japan Pro Wrestling.

It’s a different world. Wrestlers have a difficult time in being seen as legitimate athletes. They have to do some very athletic things and their efforts are anything but easy. At the same time though, it can be difficult to shake the stigma of their matches being pre-determined. Occasionally a wrestler will try their hand at another sport though, which was the case again this week.

Former WWE star Jack Claffey, better known as Jack Gallagher, competed in his professional MMA debut this weekend. Claffey fought Marlon Jones at FCC 32 and was defeated via TKO in the first round, with the event airing on UFC Fight Pass. Claffey posted a photo of himself and Jones following the fight. Following the end of his wrestling career, Claffey has competed in bare knuckle boxing and amateur mixed martial arts, compiling a 1-0 and 2-0 record respectively.

That would be new. We are almost to the start of WrestleMania season and that could make for some interesting developments. As we move towards the biggest show of the year, some of the bigger WWE stars begin making more appearances. That can make for some unique stories and now WWE is at least talking about doing something that has never been done before.

Earlier this month, a report came out suggesting that Gunther vs. Brock Lesnar was possible for WrestleMania 39. According to Xero News on Twitter, there has been at least some small discussion of having Lesnar defeat Gunther, the reigning Intercontinental Champion, for the title, which would be the first of Lesnar’s career. There are some who feel this would help boost up the midcard titles, as WWE has been attempting to do in recent months. The match has yet to be announced and Gunther and Lesnar have had no interactions.
