WWE Canceled Major Plans For The Undertaker Before Match With John Cena

After weeks of being called out by John Cena, The Undertaker returned and dominated him at WrestleMania 34 in a squash match. It was not what the WWE Universe had in mind for their match, but that wasn’t what WWE officials had originally planned either.
The action inside the ring went down exactly how it was intended, but the powers that be had other plans for The Deadman’s entrance. According to a report from DirtySheets, the original plan was to have the classic Undertaker entrance for only thirty seconds.

After entering the Superdome with his normal theatrics, The Undertaker would have pulled an American flag out of his cloak. Kid Rock would have taken the stage and The Deadman would have finished his entrance to his “American Bad Ass” theme song.
Those plans were scrapped during the weekend after Kid Rock’s Hall of Fame speech included some controversial political views. The company didn’t want to make ..

Real Reason Why WWE Won’t Air Raw and SmackDown Live On WWE Network

Despite the fact that television is less reliant on cable networks, WWE continues to rely on those networks to air Monday Night Raw and SmackDown Live. A lot of people don’t understand why when the company has the WWE Network available to air its content.
Not only that, but WWE officials are willing to make all kinds of changes to the product and even change the work schedule for the roster to make the FOX deal work. However, there’s a logical reason why the company continues to rely on cable networks to air Raw and SmackDown Live.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE wants to go with FOX over other streaming services is because traditional television is still better for creating new fans and keeping old ones. Apparently, nearly half of SmackDown Live’s audience is over the age of fifty. There’s concern that demographic would lose touch if WWE programming was streamed.

WWE Officials Have Changed Their Minds About SAnitY’s Debut On SmackDown Live

Last week, it was reported that WWE officials were holding off on SAnitY’s debut on SmackDown Live because they wanted to slowly bring new talent to television after the Superstar Shakeup rather than have too many debuts and new characters to balance.
However, it’s been two months and Eric Young, Killian Dain, and Alexander Wolfe have yet to appear on SmackDown or NXT since WrestleMania 34. While Nikki Cross was left behind in NXT and is getting a push, a lot of fans want to know what’s happening with SAnitY.

According to the Wrestling Observer, WWE officials don’t have anything planned for the stable. The group has always garnered comparisons to The Wyatt Family. It will be pivotal to the trio’s success that they establish themselves as something very different and it’s clear WWE officials are still trying to figure out how to do that on SmackDown.

WWE May Be Planning More Frequent Surprises For NXT

According to Bryan Alvarez on Wrestling Observer Live, WWE may actually be planning on having more frequent surprises for those who attend NXT live events. Recently, former NXT Tag Team Champions The Revival showed up at an NXT live event and were subsequently featured on a string of shows.
Tyler Breeze of Breezango also popped in for a Jacksonville live event during the same weekend.
If Alvarez is to be believed, WWE will be doing more of these surprises for NXT shows to remind fans of the talent on offer that isn’t being used on WWE main roster TV.
Alvarez had the following to say: “As you can see from last weekend, they are slowly starting to have some of the guys who aren’t being used much, Revival. I think you may see some others as well, showing up at NXT live events which should be happening.”
Only time will tell if this does happen, but there certainly isn’t a lack of talent to draw upon. As you can imagine, Wrestling Rumors will continue to update you if more news does com..

Mauro Ranallo: “My Mental Health Was Deteriorating At A Rapid Pace”

NXT announcer Mauro Ranallo recently spoke with Sports Illustrated’s Extra Mustard section to talk about his hectic schedule, working SmackDown, NXT and his relationship with WWE. Ranallo first explained how his hectic schedule has affected him. He speaks about his time on SmackDown Live before moving to NXT: “With WWE, the biggest issue was the weekly travel for SmackDown. I also had a job with Showtime Championship Boxing, and now Bellator MMA, so I was busy almost every weekend and the fact that I had to be on the road with SmackDown Live, which was a dream job in live TV on the USA Network, was going to kill me. Literally. My close friends saw how it was affecting me, and it just came to a head. There were other issues, and they’ve been dealt with, and honestly, I’ve never had a better relationship with WWE, especially Paul [Triple H] Levesque and Michael Cole, two people who are instrumental in me being the voice of NXT. The amount of support I’ve received from everyone, and I mea..

Trent Seven Provides His Opinion On WWE Looking To Expand Into The UK

WWE Superstar Trent Seven spoke with The Mirror ahead of the UK Championship Tournament where he provided his opinion on the company’s expansion to the UK and Toni Storm reportedly being signed. Seven first spoke about wanting to earn a spot on an NXT TakeOver event. He aims to capture the NXT Tag Team Championship alongside former WWE UK Champion Tyler Bate: “Yeah absolutely. The competition for those spots is obviously at a standard – it’s undeniable – it’s at a standard that has never been seen before. It’s literally a who’s who of professional wrestling over the last few years at one of those shows and at NXT TakeOver: New Orleans, every single person delivered, well above and beyond what I think anyone ever expected. It was an incredible show. The goal has got to be that.
If you’re here to take part, then that’s great, but realistically, this is the future of the industry, NXT is the future of professional wrestling, it is the future of the WWE, it’s where the stars are born and ..

Update Regarding AJ Lee Potentially Returning to WWE

After WrestleMania 31, AJ Lee quietly retired from wrestling and has not appeared on WWE programming since. She’s been busy writing her autobiography and becoming an advocate for bipolar disorder awareness. Every so often, she’ll be asked about a return to WWE. Even with everything happening with her husband, you can never say never.
According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, it seems very unlikely the former WWE Divas Champion will return to the company any time soon. AJ mentioned in her book that she made the choice to step away from the ring in 2015 due to some ongoing physical issues.

As a result, it’s unlikely she would return for an extended run. Others have returned for a one-off here and there, but it would take a unique situation to bring AJ back to WWE television. After more than three years away, a huge return could also expose her flaws.

Rumor: Potential Ending For Shinsuke Nakamura vs. AJ Styles At Money In The Bank

So like a to go cup? Over nearly the last two months, a big story on SmackDown Live has been the battle between Shinsuke Nakamura and AJ Styles. This has included a long line of low blows to take Styles down, but there have been a few instances of Styles doing the exact same thing to Nakamura. The two of them hit the same thing on each other to end their most recent title match. With that out of the way, what is possibly planned for their Last Man Standing match? According to Wrestling Observer Radio, a rumored ending for the match may see the same double knockdown that ended the match at Backlash earlier this month, with a twist of Styles wearing a cup and getting up to retain the title. Styles won the first match with a Styles Clash, the second match went to a double countout, the third match was a double knockout and the fourth match was a clean win for Nakamura. He was then allowed to choose the stipulation.
