Roman Reigns Responsible For Recent Rise of Independent Wrestling

For the past four years, WWE officials have been promoting Roman Reigns as the top babyface in the company. He’s main evented the last four WrestleMania events, but he is still routinely booed out of arenas on a regular basis. That’s why some fans are very unhappy and don’t believe he deserves his position in the company and on WWE TV.
His critics are too busy criticizing how he continuously impacts WWE programming in a negative way to realize the positive effect he has on the industry as a whole. According to RingSideNews, Reigns might be responsible for the growth of the independent scenes.

One of the common complaints is WWE doing what is best for the company and not for the fans. That’s allowed more wrestling fans to get their wrestling elsewhere and more independent promotions and shows are willing to give their consumer what they want because they don’t have to deal with sponsors or certain restrictions lik..

Official SmackDown Live Preview – May 29, 2018

They’re running out of spots. WWE isn’t in the best place at the moment as everything has been about Money in the Bank. With less than three weeks left to go before the pay per view, there is one spot left in both namesake matches. That will be decided this week on SmackDown Live, but we need more than one big main event. Some emphasis on some of the other matches would be a good idea, but that’s easier said than done. How is WWE trying get it done? WWE.com has released its official preview for this week’s episode of SmackDown Live. While the main event and biggest story of the show is Daniel Bryan vs. Samoa Joe in the final Money in the Bank qualifying match, there are other stories as well. This time around that means a look at the upcoming WWE Title and SmackDown Women’s Title matches at the upcoming pay per view. Here are the stories featured in the preview.

Enzo Amore Expresses His Rage In New Music Video

It would appear that you shouldn’t upset the realest guy in the room. Former WWE superstar Enzo Amore has released a music video for his new rap song, “Phoenix.” Amore, who is now going by the rap name “Real1,” has included a few lyrics that are taking shots at the woman who accused him of rape earlier this year.
You can take a look at the rap video below:

Below are some highlights from the video (h/t to Pro Wrestling Sheet for the transcription):
The video begins with a wrestling fan arguing with his mother from the basement during the “25th anniversary of sports entertainment.” He then gets a breaking news alert and rushes to his computer — obviously in reference to Amore being sent home from WWE before Raw 25.
Some noteworthy lyrics include:
“They cry tears of joy at my funeral. Still I rise from the ashes like a phoenix. Middle finger to the sky grippin’ my …. consensual penis. Lyin’ ass hoe out in Phoenix. When I say that shit I mea..

Who Earned The Last Women’s Money In The Bank Spot?

The last one on the list. Over the last few weeks, Monday Night Raw and SmackDown Live have set up the upcoming Money in the Bank ladder matches with a series of qualifying matches. These matches have given us most of the eight competitors for both matches and this week on Monday Night Raw, we found out who would complete the women’s field with one more qualifying match.
Hint: here’s a preview of the final two names in the gauntlet match.

This week on Monday Night Raw, Sasha Banks earned the last spot in the women’s Money in the Bank ladder match by winning a gauntlet match. Banks won the match, which also included Bayley, Liv Morgan, Sarah Logan, Dana Brooke, Mickie James and Ruby Riott, with a Banks Statement to Riott. Banks joins Ember Moon, Charlotte, Alexa Bliss, Becky Lynch, Natalya, Lana and Naomi in the match. Check out this week’s full Monday Night Raw results right here.

Monday Night Raw Live Coverage And Results – May 28, 2018

Monday Night Raw
Date: May 28, 2018
Location: The Coliseum, Richmond, Virginia
Commentators: Michael Cole, Corey Graves, Jonathan Coachman
Somehow there are still three shows left before Money in the Bank so we’re really not close to the end of this ride yet. That means another qualifying match tonight, this time in the form of a women’s gauntlet match. Other than that we get to see just how good Seth Rollins is as he defends against Jinder Mahal. Let’s get to it.
Here are last week’s results if you need a recap.
We open with the now traditional Memorial Day video. This one includes soldiers telling stories of some of their missions and those who died on those missions. It’s always nice of WWE to do this.
Here’s Braun Strowman to open things up. He explains the idea of the ladder match and says he can’t wait to become Mr. Monster in the Bank. Finn Balor comes out to say he never lost the Universal Title and nothing is stopping him from winning it back. Last week, he gave everything..

CM Punk’s Trial Causing Major Problems For UFC Return

When CM Punk appeared on Colt Cabana’s “Art of Wrestling” podcast to give his side of the story regarding his WWE departure, he ruffled a lot of feathers. WWE doctor Chris Amann filed a lawsuit against Punk and Cabana and the suit is actually going to trial.
Unfortunately for Punk, this is horrible timing. At UFC 225, he’s set to have his second fight inside The Octagon against Michael Jackson. After his defeat against Mickey Gall, he’s trying to bounce back against Jackson and having a trial on his mind is a problem.

Dave Meltzer brought up the point on Wrestling Observer Radio that having the trial is obviously a mental distraction before a fight. However, the real problem is he could be stuck in court when he’s supposed to be training for The Octagon. It’s even more of a challenge to keep up with a training regiment when he needs to be in court for days.
CM Punk is going to have an interesting couple of weeks. There w..

Video: Greatest Last Man Standing Match Knockouts

Count em out. One of the most brutal stipulations in wrestling is the last man standing match. This match is built almost entirely on violence as two people fight to keep the other one down for a ten count. Anything goes in these matches and that means various forms of violence are not only allowed, but also encouraged. Over the years, wrestlers have taken advantage of this idea with some very creative violence. Sounds like a countdown to me.
They just keep getting bigger and bigger.

WWE has posted a new Top Ten video looking at the Greatest Last Man Standing Match Knockouts. This match has been around for a very long time now and the history in this list goes back nearly twenty years. Some of these are more creative than violent but at the same time, several are just pure carnage that makes you wonder how the people are still alive, let alone supposed to answer a ten count. While some are a bit repetitive, the top ent..

Video: Kenny Omega And Xavier Woods In A Commercial Together

When worlds collide. Wrestlers are a weird breed as so much of their time is devoted to their jobs that it seems almost impossible for them to do anything else. Every now and then you’ll see something in there though, such as Xavier Woods’ Up Up Down Down YouTube gaming channel. He’s not the only gaming nut in wrestling though, as Kenny Omega is known for his obsession with gaming as well. So what would happen when these two collide, at least in gaming form?
Well, at least one of them appears on screen.

In a new trailer for the Street Fighter V, both Omega and Woods appear, with Omega portraying protagonist Cody Travers and Woods being heard as a voice who calls him on the phone. Omega is the live action version of the character, which then moves into footage of the game itself. Woods doesn’t actually appear in person in the commercial but his voice is very clear. Omega appears again after the footage is over. This isn..

WWE Ranks Every Money In The Bank Cash-In

It’s like ranking robberies. Back in 2005, Chris Jericho came up with an idea called Money in the Bank, where a ladder match would be held for a briefcase. That briefcase would contain a contract that could be cashed in for a World Title shot at any time, even when another title match was going on. This became a game changer and still is all these years later. With that much history, a retrospective sounds appropriate. How did this list go eleven months ago? Check out WWE’s other countdown.

WWE has released a countdown of all nineteen Money in the Bank cash-ins throughout history, starting from the first in 2006 and ending with the most recent in April of this year. The cash-ins have been put in order based on the victor, who they beat for the title and the context in which they cashed in their contract. As you might guess, the losses are lower on the list than the victors. Here’s WWE’s list:
19. Baron Corbin – 2017
18. John Cena – 2012

Full Listings For New Shield DVD Set

By their powers sometimes combined. Back in 2012, the Shield debuted and immediately took the wrestling world by storm, turning into one of the most dominant factions WWE has ever seen. No one could stop them for months and they all became singles stars in just a few short years. At one point, the three of them were all World Champion on the same day. That’s worthy of a look back isn’t it?
In case you need a fix now, check out some of their best work.

This July, WWE is releasing a new DVD based on the Shield. The faction debuted at Survivor Series 2012 and stayed together in its original run until May 2014. The individuals then spent several years wrestling as singles stars before coming back together for a short lived reunion in 2017. The DVD set will revolve around their singles matches, with only one match featuring all three together. Here are the full listings for the set, courtesy of wrestlingdvdnetwork.com: DISC..

Official Monday Night Raw Preview – May 28, 2018

Do whatever you want, just don’t do more of Bobby Lashley’s family reunion. We’re less than three weeks away from Money in the Bank and WWE, especially Monday Night Raw, isn’t exactly in a great place at the moment. There are several stories going on and for the most part, they’re not very interesting. Some of them are watchable, but others are just flat out bad and there’s no way around that. Will this week be any better? Forget how we got here? Check out last week’s full results right here.
WWE.com has released its official preview for this week’s Monday Night Raw. As has been the case in the last few weeks, a large chunk of the show is dedicated to Money in the Bank. In addition though, there will also be some focus on Seth Rollins defending the Intercontinental Title against Jinder Mahal and the continuation of Bobby Lashley vs. Sami Zayn. Video: Top Five In Arena NXT Debuts

Well hello there. While there are a lot of nice things about NXT, one of the best things is the talent that is coming through that curtain. It’s a lot of fun to guess who might be the newest big name signee, but it’s even more fun to actually see them in person making the big surprise debut. Sometimes we know in advance, but sometimes they come from out of nowhere for the shock of the night. That sounds like it’s time for a flashback.
Did your favorite make the list?

WWE has released a new Top Five video, looking at the five greatest in-arena debuts for NXT names. As you might guess, these are big names in NXT, whose debuts are treated like major deals. Since NXT isn’t really that old, most of these are from the last few years. Several of these names were already big stars when they debuted, which made their appearances that much more important as they already had reputations. Opinion: The top spot on the list makes se..
