Location: Nationwide Arena, Columbus, Ohio
Commentators: Vic Joseph, Percy Watson, Nigel McGuinness
The march towards three different pay per views continues and that could mean a variety of things. Well actually it means we get what we already know we’re getting, because this show is a collection of highlights. Monday’s show was pretty dreadful while Tuesday’s was a lot of fun so let’s get to it.
Here are last week’s results if you need a recap.
Opening sequence.
Tyler Breeze vs. Mike Kanellis Mike kicks him down early on and goes up top, only to get small packaged for two. Some stomping has Breeze in trouble and it’s time to work on the knee. A half crab (with some yelling at the fans) keeps Breeze down but a superkick gives him two. Breeze actually rolls him up into a half crab of his own but gets catapulted into the corner. Kanellis grabs a rollup, only to be reversed into another one to give Breeze the pin at 4:50.
Result: Tyler Breeze b. Mi..

Update on Seth Rollins’ Potential Injury; How Serious Is It?

It had been previously reported that Seth Rollins may have suffered an injury this past week on Raw, as his arm was bloody after being thrown into an ambulance during the final segment of the show. When he made contact with the vehicle, a glass window broke, causing the cut.
Will this cause him to miss any time?
According to the latest episode of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Rollins has been cleared to appear at this weekend’s house shows, so it would appear that the injuries weren’t serious.
You can see a clip of the final segment of Raw below:

Although he is the current Intercontinental Champion, it is unknown what his role will be at Hell In A Cell at this time.
Editor’s Opinion:
This is VERY good news. As soon as I saw that the window broke, my first thought was that it was unintentional and could be extremely problematic. Rollins is doing some incredible things right now and having him out due to injury would be very problema..

Update On Toni Storm Injury; Will She Miss Any Time? (Includes Spoilers)

It sounds like everything will be OK, which is a VERY good thing.
Toni Storm, who is currently participating in the 2018 Mae Young Classic, was recently injured while competing at a recent set of NXT U.K. tapings. She made to the finals of the tournament to crown a new Women’s Champion, but was injured during her match with Rhea Ripley, who ended up winning the tournament. The “X” was thrown up and Storm was helped to the back.
According to the latest issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Storm has a spinal injury. However, the belief is that it’s not serious, and will not be missing much time. She is currently scheduled to compete against Io Shirai in the finals of the 2018 Mae Young Classic; you can find the spoilers here.

Editor’s Opinion:
This is certainly good news. Storm is one of the most well-known names in the “non-WWE” female wrestling circuit, and she deserves the opportunity to compete against some of the best of the wor..

Attendance, Revenue Figures For All In Pay-Per-View, Other Facts

The recent All In pay-per-view, put on by Cody Rhodes and The Young Bucks, is being praised for its outstanding matches and excellent marketing.
But how did the event do from a numbers standpoint? The most recent edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter provides some insight.
Total attendance at the show was 11,263, which was the maximum amount that the fire department would allow. That figure is a combination of the 10,541 tickets sold in the first 30 minutes back in May, any late production seats that were opened up, as well as people in the suites. The suites were packed and the building was 100% used.

The live gate drew $458,525. While final merchandise numbers are not available, every item that they had sold out and the official All In shirt, sold out at 3:30 p.m., 90 minutes before the show started and 30 minutes after the doors opened.

Backstage News On Why WWE Refused To Release Neville

Breaking orbit and precedence. One of the more interesting sagas of the year in WWE has been Neville’s contract status. He walked out on the promotion late last year and hasn’t made an appearance ever since. Last week it was reported that Neville had been released, which makes you wonder why it took him so long to be released from the company. It turns out there is a pretty simple reason.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Neville’s contract was frozen for the sake of not allowing a precedent to be set of people walking out and then being released from their contract, allowing them to wrestle anywhere. Neville was rumored to be going to New Japan Pro Wrestling when he originally walked out, though there is no word on if there is any interest from New Japan. Neville is now allowed to wrestle anywhere he likes.
Here’s one of Neville’s final appearances, when he was still awesome.

Sami Callihan Nearly Starts Riot And Is Threatened With Being Shot By Security At Indy Show

Not the kind of shot you’re used to. Wrestling can get people pretty emotional. Every now and then people get a little too into what’s going on and forget that they’re watching a show. Sometimes that means outside forces are needed to keep things calm, which can mean something like say, the police stepping in. That was the case on Friday and it almost got bad in a hurry.
According to PWInsider.com, Sami Callihan was wrestling Jimmy Jacobs at an AAW show in Chicago on Friday. During the match, Callihan used some of the venue’s chairs to bury Jacobs, leading to part of the building’s management legitimately demanding that Callihan stop. After the match was over, security was sent to escort Callihan from the building, but Callihan attacked them, thinking it was an angle. One of the guards, an off duty police officer, threatened to shoot Callihan if he didn’t calm down, which finally ended things and he was allowed to stay. The event was referenced on Twitter:

Rank Em. Who Does WWE Think Are The Ten Best Factions Of All Time?

It’s more than a place for horses. Stables and factions are a rather popular concept in wrestling as there’s something to be said about looking at a group of wrestlers being grouped together as a big unit. They’re undergoing a renewed push in WWE at the moment with the Shield, the New Day, the former Wyatt Family and the former Authority getting a lot of time in recent years. But where do they stack up?
On their Instagram page, WWE has posted a list of the Top Ten Factions of All Time. The list mainly includes WWE groups, though there is one from NXT and one who never appeared in the company whatsoever. Three of them are currently still active and formed only in the last five years. The list goes back well over thirty five years and includes a variety of groups from throughout wrestling history.

Rapid Fire Wrestling. WWE Releases Fast Versions Of Summerslams Of Years Past

Well Summerslam is pretty long. Over the last few years, WWE has expanded its Big Four pay per views to four hours (minimum) plus a two hour Kickoff Show. That can make for some very long evenings and that’s a problem for fans who don’t have six hours to spend on a single evening. There’s always the option of fast forwarding, but if that’s not quite your cup of tea, WWE has you covered.
Make sure to check out our full Summerslam results, in case you want a more detailed account.
WWE has posted three videos looking at the 2015, 2016 and 2017 editions of Summerslam, with each show being broken down into a sixty second highlight package. The videos show a quick clip from every match on the card as well as the ending, along with commentary from the show that gives you a fast recap of the feud and the match itself. WWE has done the same for every entry in the Summerslam series, save for this year’s show.
Here’s 2015:

Real Reason Why Roman Reigns is WWE’s Top Merchandise Seller Revealed

Recently, it was reported on WrestlingRumors that Roman Reigns had surpassed John Cena as WWE’s top merchandise seller. On paper, that’s a good thing. A lot of fans and analysts question how Cena’s sales are still so high despite barely being on WWE TV.
Others have blamed Roman’s complex dynamic with the WWE Universe as the reason why he hasn’t surpassed Cena until now. However, DirtySheets has revealed the details behind WWE’s merchandise sales and why Roman Reigns is considered the top seller.

According to the report, “The Big Dog’s” individual merchandise sales are not strong at all. By item, Roman’s merchandise sales have been disappointing, but his numbers are so high because of the number of items being sold. A top wrestler like Seth Rollins has two shirts and maybe a few small items during a WWE event. Roman Reigns can have as many as ten or more items available for purchase during a WWE live event.

Here’s When Becky Lynch Could Win the SmackDown Women’s Title

At Summerslam, Charlotte Flair won the SmackDown Women’s Championship. Becky Lynch also turned heel to set up a long rivalry between the two women. However, the WWE Universe has embraced Becky’s turn to elevate her as a babyface rather than be the heel turn WWE officials had planned. That’s forced the latter to change their plans.

WWE officials are allowing the fans to choose their favorites and the rivalry won’t have the tradition babyface/heel dynamic any longer. It’s undeniable that Becky is building a lot of momentum since Summerslam. There’s a unique opportunity to do something big with Lynch, so the big question is when should she win the SmackDown Women’s Title?
According to Wrestling Observer Radio, the obvious choice for the title change would be WWE Evolution in October. In many ways, it’s predictable. It’s also fitting because WWE fans have made their point crystal clear to WWE offi..

We’ve finally arrived. Last year, Dave Meltzer said Ring of Honor couldn’t sell 10,000 tickets to an event. Cody Rhodes and the Young Bucks took it as a challenge and they actually pulled it off in about fifteen months. The tickets sold out in about half an hour and they were off to the races. This is the biggest independent wrestling event in history and really, anything good coming out of the show is a bonus. Let’s get to it.
Here are Cody and the Young Bucks to say they’re going to blow the whole budget in 90 seconds with a bunch of pyro. The pyro doesn’t go off and Cody asks Nick if he paid the pyro guy. They try again and there is indeed pyro. With that out of the way, here’s Animal on a motorcycle for the wrestling legend cameo (their words). Now it’s time for free merchandise with t-shirts being thrown and launched out of a t-shir..
