They’ll pass. There have been all kinds of wrestlers throughout WWE’s history and quite a few of them have been memorable. While it might not always be for the most positive reasons, there is something about a wrestler that keeps them in fans’ minds. One former WWE star was backstage at this week’s Monday Night Raw after a rather long absence from the company.

According to Fightful Select, former WWE star Summer Rae was backstage this week at Monday Night Raw in Nashville, Tennessee. According to Fightful Select, Rae was only visiting friends and WWE has no plans to bring her back in a full time role. Rae worked for WWE from 2011 – 2017 and returned last year as an entrant in the Women’s Royal Rumble match.

They’re up next. We are in the middle of a weird era in wrestling, as fans have been wanting to see more about the history of the industry. This has led to a series of books, films and television series about wrestling. There are all kinds of stories to be seen in the wrestling world and WWE has gotten in on the idea as well. Now we are getting to see what they have in store next.

Over the last two years, WWE has worked with A&E to produce episodes of A&E’s Biography series on various WWE and wrestling legends. According to PWInsider.com, new episodes will begin airing on Sunday February 19, with looks at Dusty Rhodes, Jake Roberts and the NWO, plus more to be announced. In addition, Most Wanted Treasures and Rivals will return with new episodes.

Hand it over. Titles are the most important part of any wrestling promotion and give the fans a good baseline of what they are seeing. A wrestler holding a championship means that they are one of the most important people in the company. As a result, a title change can be a big deal and that is what we saw this week, as a former champion got the gold back around his waist.

The main event of this week’s edition of AEW Dynamite saw Darby Allin regain the TNT Title from Samoa Joe in Allin’s hometown of Seattle, Washington. The match was a rematch from December when Joe retained the title and hurt Allin in the process. Sting, Allin’s mentor, came to the ring to celebrate with him to end the show. Allin previously held the title for a record 186 days, with a reign lasting from November 2020 – May 2021.

We’re in a new year and the big story is a new look for the show. That is somewhat long overdue and the question is will AEW have a good show to back it up. The likely main event is Samoa Joe defending the TNT Title against hometown boy Darby Allin in a rematch from a few weeks back. Let’s get to it.

There is a new set with new graphics.
Chris Jericho vs. Ricky Starks Feeling out process to start with Starks slapping him in the face and pounding away in the corner. Starks does a rather length Old School but gets knocked to the apron. The triangle dropkick is broken up though and Jericho suplexes him off the apron as we take a break. Back with Starks hitting a running clothesline to leave both of them down.

New home. There have been a lot of comings and goings with the WWE roster in recent months and those changes are likely to continue. One of the interesting things about the departures winds up being where someone winds up next. That can make for a great moment, even if you know someone is going to wind up. Now one of the arrivals has actually taken place.

This week at New Japan Wrestle Kingdom 17, Mercedes Mone, formerly known as Sasha Banks in WWE, made her debut for the promotion. Mone, referring to herself as the CEO, debuted after IWGP Women’s Champion Kairi (formerly known as Kairi Sane in WWE) defeated Tam Nakano to retain her title. Mone went on to attack Kairi’s arm before announcing that the two will face each other in San Jose, California on February 18. There is no word on if Mone will wrestle before then.

It’s time to have the plans ready. We are less than three months away from WrestleMania 39 and that means it is time to start getting everything set up for the show. With the event taking place over two nights, WWE has to put twice as much together as it does for normal events. It helps to start with the bigger things and now it seems that the company has plans for some of its top title matches.

According to Fight Fans, Raw Women’s Champion Bianca Belair will be losing her title at some point before WrestleMania 39, with Becky Lynch becoming champion in some way. This is meant to set up a Lynch vs. Rhea Ripley title match at WrestleMania, with seeds being planted by way of a staredown on the December 5, 2022 Monday Night Raw. This will reportedly free up Belair to challenge Charlotte for the SmackDown Women’s Title, which she won last week in an impromptu title match against Ronda Rousey. There is..

She’s working on it. There are all kinds of reasons for a wrestler to be absent from television and some of them are more common than others. You will see some wrestlers away for reasons that would only apply to wrestling but every now and then it is something that run of the mill people go through every day. That seems to be the situation for another missing WWE star.

Doudrop has not wrestled on WWE television since the September 6, 2022 edition of NXT. A fan recently asked Doudrop where she had been, with Doudrop responding that she was “very sick” but she is healing. There is no word on what was wrong with Doudrop or when she might be back to action. This comes just after reports that Doudrop and other former NXT UK wrestlers are dealing with visa issues.

That’s an explanation. There is a lot of fun to be had in wrestling and a good bit of that comes from seeing your favorite wrestlers getting the chance to appear on television. With so many wrestlers to pick from, it can be a lot of fun to see them show up from week to week. At the same time, it can be annoying when they miss time. That is the case with several WWE wrestlers but now we know a bit more about what is going on.

According to Wrestling Observer Radio, several former NXT UK talents are still in Europe as they deal with their visa issues. This includes (but is not limited to) names such as Tyler Bate, Doudrop, Gallus and Blair Davenport. There is no word on when they will be allowed to return to the United States. All have appeared on WWE television in one way or another, with Gallus being written off with a storyline suspension.

They’re special. WWE is set up with all kinds of wrestlers and various groups, almost all of which are divided between Monday Night Raw and SmackDown. Most of the wrestlers are stuck on one show most of the time, but there are occasions when someone will move over to another roster. There are certain people this does not apply to though and that will continue to be the case for the time being.

One of the continuing stories over the last several months in WWE has seen the Bloodline appear on both Monday Night Raw and SmackDown to continue their storyline. This has led to other wrestlers that the team is feuding with to appear on other shows as well. According to Fightful Select, this will be continuing for various wrestlers on the WWE roster, especially including the Bloodline.

That’s not a good sign. Injuries are one of the worst things that you can see in the wrestling world as you never know when someone is going to be taken out of the ring for a long time. A wrestler can be hurt out of nowhere and the question becomes how long they are going to be gone. This week saw a WWE star possibly get hurt and now we might be getting a flashback.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: He’s Back? Update On Return Of Injured WWE Superstar
The main event of this week’s Monday Night Raw saw Seth Rollins fail to regain the United States Title from Austin Theory. Following the show, Rollins’ knee, which had been worked on during the match, gave out and he had to be helped to the back. Rollins has since sent out a tweet saying “Redesign. Rebuild. Reclaim.” This is the same message that Rollins sent out after he tore his ACL in 2015. There is no word on if Rollins is actually injured or if this is part of a storyline.

Welcome back. There are all kinds of wrestlers on the WWE roster, to the point where it can be difficult to keep track of everyone. It makes things even more complicated when someone leaves television for one reason or another, which happens every so often. A current WWE star is gone, but now we have a better idea of when he might be back in the ring, albeit maybe not on television.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: No More: How Vince McMahon Has Been Almost Totally Removed From WrestleMania 39
Back in December 2022, Matt Riddle was written off television with an injury at the hands of Solo Sikoa, with WWE saying that he would be gone for six weeks. Now, according to PWInsider.com, Riddle is advertised for Monday Night Raw in Brooklyn, New York on February 13. There is no word on if this return will take place or if Riddle will appear before the show.

There’s some fallout. The biggest change in the wrestling world in 2022 was Vince McMahon retiring from WWE after nearly forty years in charge of the company. That is the kind of shakeup that you never see in wrestling and it has caused a variety of changes for WWE. One of the biggest changes is still ongoing though and it involves one of McMahon’s greatest creations.

According to Fightful Select, everything that McMahon had in mind for WrestleMania 39 is no longer planned for the show. This includes the ideas of John Cena vs. Logan Paul, Becky Lynch vs. Ronda Rousey and possibly Cody Rhodes challenging for the WWE Title, though that idea was never officially pitched to WWE creative. There have been some matches rumored for WrestleMania, but nothing has officially been announced so far. WrestleMania 39 takes place on April 1 and 2.
