They’re planting seeds. We are less than two months away from WrestleMania 39 and WWE has already started announcing the card. There have been multiple title matches set for the show, but several matches still need to be made official for Los Angeles. Since it is WrestleMania, a lot of these matches have to be planned far in advance. We may be seeing some of that work being done now.

Seth Rollins appeared on the Pat McAfee Show this week (with his appearance beginning at around 1:39:00) and talked about Logan Paul. Rollins talked about how he does not believe Paul truly loves wrestling and claimed that Paul was only coming into Rollins’ sport to make money. He also suggested that Paul would not say anything to his face and does his bragging on social media. Paul eliminated Rollins from the Royal Rumble, which led to speculation of a WrestleMania match between the two, but nothing has been made offic..

It’s a side gig. There are a lot of people in WWE and some of them have been around for a very long time. As a result of that longevity, they are often given special responsibilities that can make WWE feel more important. Occasionally this is something that will be seen by a lot of people at the same time and that will be the case again, as a WWE star is crossing over into another sport.

The Miz has been announced as a member of the NBA Ruffles Celebrity Game over All-Star weekend. Miz will be on Team Ryan along with names such as Kane Brown, Calvin Johnson, Ozuna, Albert Pujols and more. The game will be held on Friday February 17 and airs on ESPN. Miz has also participated in the Major League Baseball Celebrity Softball game over the years and is a two time MVP.

They just made the list. There are so many wrestlers on the WWE roster that it is difficult to keep track of everyone. That is the case for wrestling fans on a regular basis but there are also problems for the wrestling promotions on occasions. At the same time, there are ways for promotions to make this easier, and now we have a better idea of how WWE sees a lot of its stars.

They had a plan for that. We are coming up on WrestleMania 39 but there is one more major stop before we get out to Los Angeles. That would be Elimination Chamber, which is going to need quite the lineup of its own. WWE has already started setting things up for the show, and it now seems that they had planned to get the ball rolling on one of the bigger matches even sooner than expected.
This week on Monday Night Raw, Lita made a surprise return to help Becky Lynch defeat Bayley, who had Damage Ctrl assisting her. Soon after, a report came out saying that this was to set up a six woman tag at Elimination Chamber, also involving Trish Stratus. According to Wrestling Observer Live, Lita helping Lynch was the original plan for the previous week at Raw XXX, when the Lynch vs. Bayley cage match was canceled due to timing issues. There is no word on if Lita will be at next week’s Monday Night Raw.

That can headline. We are less than a month away from the next AEW pay per view offering with Revolution. As the company does not present pay per views very often, AEW has to go out of its way to stack the card as much as possible. That is easier said than done in a lot of ways but the most important part of the card is a main event. Now AEW has a big one set for the upcoming show.

Over the last several weeks, Bryan Danielson has been attempting to become the #1 contender to Maxwell Jacob Friedman’s AEW World Title. In order to gain the title shot, Danielson had to win a series of matches, with the final one coming this week. Danielson defeated Rush this week, earning himself a title shot at Revolution. The match will be a one hour Iron Man match.

We’re done with Vengeance Day and just shy of two months away from Stand & Deliver. It looks like we have a title match set up, as Carmelo Hayes stared down Bron Breakker, who retained the NXT Title in the main event. That should give us a clear path to Los Angeles so let’s get to it.
We open with the recap of Vengeance Day.
Here are Trick Williams and Carmelo Hayes to open things up. Williams talks about how Hayes turned seer Apollo Crews into Stevie Wonder before Hayes brags about his win too. Hayes knows his destiny and there is one man waiting for him. Cue JD McDonagh to cut him off and say Hayes is entitled. While Hayes wants a private room at the club, McDonagh sends people to the emergency room. The match is made for later.
Fallon Henley isn’t happy that Kiana James cheated to tin the titles and insists on a rematch. James isn’t sure, so Henley says they’ll tal..

Hand them over. A title change can mean a lot in the wrestling world as someone else is taking over an important spot in the promotion. New champions being crowned allows a wrestler to become a top star and that is the kind of change that makes waves throughout a company. That took place this week, and it came in quite the surprise moment to end a show.

The main event of this week’s edition of AEW Dynamite saw the Gunns defeat the Acclaimed to win the Tag Team Titles. The win came after a belt shot to Anthony Bowens and a rollup, leaving the Acclaimed upset to end the show. This comes after the two teams have been feuding on and off since the middle of last year, with the teams working together but then splitting over the Gunn’s father Billy, who manages the Acclaimed.

It’s a change. There are all kinds of ways to present a wrestler and some of them work better than others. A slight tweak in how a wrestler comes off can change everything about them, either for good or bad. Occasionally a wrestler with a serious background might want to shake things up a bit and now an established veteran is going to be trying to do just that for himself.

Dirty Dango, formerly known as Fandango during his time in WWE, was a guest on the Windy City Slam podcast where he confirmed that he had signed a one year contract to join the Impact Wrestling roster. Dango also talked about wanting to transition to a more serious style rather than his established comedy style. There is no word on how he plans to make such a transition, but he did say he was already enjoying wrestling more serious matches.

That could be worse. There are all kinds of health problems that a wrestler could have throughout their career, with many of them being the same kind of thing that run of the mill people deal with every day. Those are often the more serious ones though and the question becomes how the recovery is going to go. That is the case again, as a wrestling legend is recovering from a health scare.

Earlier this week, news broke that WWE Hall Of Famer Jerry Lawler had undergone a health issue, which has since been confirmed as a stroke. Lawler’s longtime WWE broadcast partner Jim Ross has sent out a tweet, revealing that he spoke with Lawler briefly Tuesday night. Ross said that Lawler’s prognosis was “positive” but did not give any further details. There is no word on when Lawler might be released from the hospital.

Plans change. We are less than two months away from WrestleMania 39 and that means we should be in for quite a few major storyline advancements in the next few weeks. That can range anywhere from the top of the card all the way to the bottom, but either way, you can see the changes taking place rather quickly. Now though, we might not be seeing one of the bigger changes so soon.

One of the ideas rumored during the Road To WrestleMania 39 was the splitting of the Undisputed WWE Universal Title into two titles, or possibly having a new title introduced. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, the original idea would have seen Roman Reigns defend against the Rock on Night One while Cody Rhodes, Seth Rollins and Drew McIntyre fought for the other title on Night Two. However, since the Rock is not available, the plan was scrapped for the time being, though WWE does want to go back to two World Titles at some p..

That could be serious. There are all kinds of injuries in wrestling and you never know when you are going to see someone put on the shelf for any amount of time. Seeing an injury of any kind is a bad thing as you don’t know when someone might be back in the ring. The tricky thing with wrestling is that there are storyline injuries as well, and now we don’t know which kind we are seeing.

The main event of this week’s edition of Monday Night Raw saw Becky Lynch defeat Bayley in a steel cage match with an assist from Lita. Bayley appeared again this week on NXT for an episode of her Ding Dong Hello talk show, but her left arm was in a sling. There is no word on if this injury is legitimate or part of a storyline. At the moment, there is nothing to suggest that Bayley will be missing any ring time.

Now another WWE star is taking a break from WWE television after an interesting story.

Back at the Royal Rumble, Alexa Bliss lost in her attempt to win the Raw Women’s Title from Bianca Belair. Following the loss, Uncle Howdy appeared and asked Bliss if she felt “in charge”. According to PW Insider Elite, Bliss is taking a break from WWE TV and there is no word on when she will be returning. There is nothing to suggest that Bliss is injured or has anything else wrong.
