Important Update On Roman Reigns’ Current WWE Status And Future

That sounds like a big relief. There are very few wrestlers who can be described as the face of WWE. Over the years you can see a few of them come up through the ranks, but it is very rare to have someone who is the focal point of the entire company. Those wrestlers are going to be among the biggest names WWE has ever seen, and now WWE might have some good news about one of them.
Over the weekend, Roman Reigns spoke at the end of a WWE live event in Trenton, New Jersey, saying that he was moving into a new phase and did not know when he would be back in front of these fans. What Reigns meant was not clear, but according to Fightful Select, there is nothing to suggest that Reigns is leaving WWE or even taking time off. The speculation is that Reigns is expected to wrestle fewer non-televised events. There is also no word on him taking time off for any Hollywood commitments, though that is a possibility in the future.
Opinion: Reigns’ comments were interesting, as they were vague enoug..

WATCH: WWE May Be Making A Huge Change To Money In The Bank

That sounds like an upgrade. There are certain WWE matches throughout the year that can shape the rest of the calendar. Some of these matches will spend months getting ready, but the payoff winds up being worth it in the end. One signature WWE match can become a big deal at any time, but now WWE might be making a change and giving it a set spot at the biggest show of the year.
This weekend’s WWE WrestleMania Backlash featured a promo for July’s Money in the Bank event, as narrated by Cody Rhodes. During the video, Rhodes mentioned that the winner of the Money in the Bank ladder matches would win the chance to main event WrestleMania. While not confirmed, this could mean that the winner of the match receives the WrestleMania World Title shot as opposed to being allowed to cash in at any time. WWE has NOT confirmed a change to the match though and this may just be poor wording in the video.
See for yourself. Check out what Rhodes said about the matches:

WWE Star Suffers Broken Arm At WrestleMania Backlash, To Miss Some Time

That could change things. There are all kinds of injuries in the wrestling world and some of them are a lot more serious than others. An injury can put someone on the shelf for any length of time and you never want to see one of them take place. At the same time though, an injury might be part of a storyline and that seems to be the case again with a prominent WWE star.
This weekend’s WWE WrestleMania Backlash pay per view featured an I Quit match between Ronda Rousey and Charlotte for the SmackDown Women’s Title. Rousey defeated Charlotte with an armbar while Charlotte’s arm was wrapped in a chair. Later in the show, a backstage report announced that Charlotte had suffered a broken radius in her arm, which will put her out of action indefinitely. According to Fightful Select, this is a storyline injury as Charlotte is taking some time off from WWE. It is not clear when she will be back.
Opinion: This is the kind of thing that needs to happen from time to time as Charlotte has been o..

Say The Words: Title Change Takes Place At WrestleMania Backlash

Give her the gold. Titles are the kind of thing that can make someone career in an instant. Someone winning a championship turns them into an even bigger star as they become the focal point of a show, or at least a division. Title changes feel important and can mean the start of something new, which might be the case again as another WWE title has changed hands.
This weekend at WrestleMania Backlash 2022, Ronda Rousey defeated Charlotte in an I Quit match to become the new SmackDown Women’s Champion. Rousey made Charlotte quit with an armbar with the arm tied up inside of a chair to win the title for the first time. The match was a rematch from WrestleMania 38, where the referee did not see Charlotte tapping out, allowing Charlotte to pin Rousey and retain the title.
Opinion: After the way Rousey lost at WrestleMania, this was about the only way the match could go. What matters is that Charlotte’s reign ended as it should have, with Rousey beating her soundly to take the title. That ..

Get In There: New Member Added To WWE Stable

Welcome to the club. Stables are a great idea in wrestling as you can do all kinds of things with them. A bunch of wrestlers can be put into a team with a common idea and that is usually enough to make things more interesting. WWE has spent years using stables for just such a reason and now they are doing it again, as a new member has joined the company’s latest group.
This weekend at WrestleMania Backlash, Edge faced AJ Styles in a WrestleMania 38 rematch. Late in the match, a masked person distracted Styles, allowing Edge to get the win. After the match, the person knelt to Edge and unmasked as Rhea Ripley, making her the newest member of the Judgment Day stable. Ripley was named as a potential member of the stable before it first formed.
Opinion: This is something that could work out well, as Ripley feels like someone who could fit in well with the team. If nothing else, it is nice to see Ripley getting to do something else, as she is someone who has all kinds of talent but has no..

WrestleMania Backlash 2022 Live Coverage And Results

Wrestlemania Backlash 2022
Date: May 8, 2022
Location: Dunkin Donuts Center, Providence, Rhode Island
Commentators: Michael Cole, Pat McAfee, Jimmy Smith, Corey Graves, Byron Saxton
it’s time for a pay per view that feels like it has been little more than an obligation as the show is six matches long with a number of title matches. Granted in this case that number is one but take what you can get. The main event is a six man tag for reasons that I’m still not clear on but maybe the in-ring work can make up for it. Let’s get to it.
The opening sequence looks at Wrestlemania and how we got here.

Former World Champion Makes Surprise Return Over The Weekend

Welcome back. In almost any wrestling promotion, the World Title is what matters the most. Someone holding that title means that they have arrived as a major star and that they have become one of the most important people in the promotion. Even after they lose the title, they will always be a former World Champion and that has some value. One of those made his return this week after a long absence.
Former Impact Wrestling World Champion Sami Callihan made his return to the company on Saturday at Under Siege. Moose had come to the ring and said that he was hijacking the show, which caused the lights to go out and a video to play announcing Callihan’s return as he cleared Moose from the ring. Callihan had been out of action since September after suffering a broken ankle.

WrestleMania Backlash 2022 Preview, Predictions And Thoughts

Round two. Wrestlemania has come and gone and now it is time for…another show with Wrestlemania in the title. Just like last year, WWE has flat out said that this is going to be the Wrestlemania fallout show, even if some of the matches have little to do with what went down in Texas. It also doesn’t help that they have changed the main event from something somewhat interesting to something almost entirely uninteresting, but maybe they can pull something out here. Let’s get to it.
Bobby Lashley vs. Omos This is a Wrestlemania rematch (smart move) and the wild card here is MVP. Lashley beat Omos back at Wrestlemania but MVP was not involved, which is what caused MVP to turn on Lashley and join Omos. Then Lashley proceeded to beat Omos clean in arm wrestling as I try to figure out what in the world this story is supposed to be going. It’s going to a rematch here and there should be an obvious result.
In theory, this should be Omos’ big singles win and that would make the most sense. Omo..

VIDEO: Roman Reigns Teases “New Phase” In Life, Not Sure When Crowd Will See Him Again

That sounds game changerish. There are very few people who have reached the point of becoming the face of the WWE. Those names are among the biggest stars the company has ever seen and one of them is not always around. It is a big deal when one of them steps away, and now we might be seeing the current one shift away, at least based on what he had to say this weekend.
WWE ran a live event over the weekend in Trenton, New Jersey with Roman Reigns in the main event. Following the match, Reigns took the microphone to thank the fans for coming out, as he does at most live events. During his speech, Reigns said that he was moving into a new phase in his life and did not know if he would be back here again. There is no word on what that means or if this is part of a storyline.
This could mean a few things. Check out what Reigns had to say (it is a big hard to hear):

Opinion: I’m not sure what that means but the idea of Reigns leaving WWE or even ..

WATCH: Fan Jumps Barricade To Meet Cody Rhodes After SmackDown

That’s a nice thing to see. Fans are one of the most important parts of any live wrestling event as they bring the energy to the show. They also give the wrestlers feedback, as the booing and the cheering can tell the wrestlers how the show is going. Sometimes fans can get a little too intense though, and that seemed to be the case again this week. Thankfully, it wound up going rather well.
Following this week’s SmackDown broadcast, Cody Rhodes defeated Seth Rollins in a dark match. After the match, Rhodes was taking pictures with fans at ringside when a young fan jumped the barricade in an attempt to get a picture. Rhodes and security took the fan back to his family, though Rhodes later tweeted about the incident and said that the fan did wind up getting his picture.
This is kind of adorable. Check out the kid getting to see Rhodes:

VIDEO: SmackDown Star Snaps Backstage After Another Bad Night

That doesn’t seem good. There are times when it seems that WWE does not know how to present a wrestler. This can cause some problems, as it often leaves wrestlers on the sidelines with nothing to do for a long time. It can be quite nice to see the company come up with something for them, and that seems to be the case again with a wrestler who has not been used much lately.
Over the last few weeks, SmackDown’s Drew Gulak has attempted to land various jobs on the show, including working on the ring crew and as part of the broadcasting team. This week saw him return to the ring, losing to Gunther. WWE has released a video ti its YouTube page, showing Gulak losing his composure backstage after the match and throwing things all over the area. There is no word yet on where this is leading.
He doesn’t look happy. Check out what Gulak did after the show:

Opinion: I’m curious about where this is going but more importantly it is nice to see Gulak ge..

WWE Hall Of Famer Arrested, Facing 30 Years In Prison

That is not a good way to go. There are a lot of names that have come up throughout the history of wrestling and some of them are rather famous. Unfortunately, some of them are more infamous than famous, often for things that are not exactly positive. That is the case with a certain WWE Hall of Famer and now things have gotten a lot worse than they were just a few months ago.
Back in March, WWE Hall of Famer Tammy Sytch was involved in a car accident that killed a man in Ormond Beach, Florida. According to PWInsider.com, Sytch has been arrested and is facing nine charges, including DUI Manslaughter, driving with a suspended or revoked license and seven counts of DUI causing damage to a person or property. The DUI Manslaughter charge carries a potential thirty year prison sentence with a four year minimum and up to $10,000 in fines. In addition, also according to PWInsider.com, Sytch has been bailed out of jail and is currently free.
