WWE Makes Very Rare (And Specific) AEW Reference On Monday Night Raw
There’s your big reference of the day. There are a lot of wrestling promotions in the world today but the top two, at least in the United States, are WWE and AEW. The two of them have been battling for a little over three years now and that is likely to be the case for several years to come. AEW regularly references WWE, but the tables were turned this week.
This week on Monday Night Raw, Seth Rollins and Cody Rhodes had a showdown before their match on Sunday at Hell In A Cell. During the exchange, Rollins mentioned that Rhodes and his friends tried to tear down WWE, while also referencing Rhodes smashing a throne with a sledgehammer at Double Or Nothing 2019. The throne was considered a metaphor for WWE legend and executive Triple H, who has sat on one during his entrances for matches in the past.
