Change Up: NXT Is Going To Be Different For The Next Few Weeks

Get your notes ready. There is a lot of WWE television every single week, which takes place over three different shows. Some of these shows have been on the air for several years and there have been some very impressive moments over the course of those years. This includes several taped shows, with the list growing over the next coming weeks in a surprise change.
According to PWInsider.com, NXT has announced that it will be taping two upcoming shows later this week, along with a third show at some point in the future. This means that the June 7, 14 and 21 shows will all be taped in advance, with the June 28 show being back to a live edition. As a result, the three shows following this weekend’s In Your House will be taped in advance. There is no word on why NXT is making the change or whether NXT will continue taping in advance in the future.
Opinion: This is an odd one and I’m not sure what is going on, though it could be something as simple as a scheduling conflict in the coming we..

NXT UK
Date: May 26, 2022
Location: BT Sports Studios, London, England
Commentators: Andy Shepherd, Nigel McGuinness
Things have been interesting around here as of late, but we are in a non-title week for a change. This time around the main event is a Heritage Cup Rules match between Charlie Dempsey and A-Kid, which should be a heck of a match. I’m not sure what else we’ll be getting, but I’m expecting some Lash Legend because it’s required these days. Let’s get to it.
Opening sequence.
Mark Coffey vs. Saxon Huxley Coffey grabs the wrist to start before going with some forearms to the face instead. Huxley runs him over though and we’re already in a neck crank. Back up and they trade clothesline until Coffey gets in a backdrop. Huxley grabs a chokebomb for two of his own but Coffey hits a suplex, setting up a sliding forearm for the pin at 4:13.
Result: Mark Coffey b. Saxon Huxley – Sliding forearm (4:13)

Two AEW Stars Injured, One Of Them Said To Be “Messed Up”

It happens to everyone. Injuries are one of the things that you see happen to any wrestler at any time. You never know when someone is going to go down but there are times when you have a good idea that something bad is coming. That does not make it any easier though, and now we are seeing a pair of prominent names going onto the injured list after some rough matches.
AEW announced that a ten man tag would be taking place this week on Dynamite, but eventually changed the match to an eight man tag with two names being taken out. According to Wrestling Observer Live, Adam Cole was pulled from the match due to an unspecified injury. In addition, according to Wrestling Observer Radio, Jeff Hardy was also pulled from the match due to injuries. Hardy was said to be “a mess” going into Double Or Nothing, which was said to have mainly been caused by his match against Darby Allin earlier in the month. There is no word on when either will be back in the ring.

Wrestling Show Featuring Former WWE Stars Postponed (And Possibly Canceled For Good)

So much for that? While the top wrestling promotions in the world get the most attention, there is a lot of great wrestling action outside of the top ranks. You can find all kinds of action worth seeing elsewhere and it is one of the best things about the wrestling world. However, it seems that we will not be seeing a pretty solid looking show for the time being, if at all.
Last month, former Raw Tag Team Champions the Authors of Pain announced that they would be promoting a wrestling show in Nottingham, England. The show, held under a banner called Wrestling Entertainment Series, would be held on June 4 and would feature several former WWE stars. However, the venue has since announced that the show has been postponed until July 9, though Chelsea Green, who is scheduled to be on the card, has said that it is canceled. No reason was given for the scheduling change.

William Regal And Bryan Danielson Offering Extra Training To AEW Stars

That’s a heck of a class. One of the things that you will constantly hear from veteran wrestlers is the importance of passing down knowledge to the new generation. At some point, these wrestlers have to tell the new crop of stars how to do all of this stuff and that is not something you often see. You could see it now in a pretty big place though, if the teachers would let you that is.
According to Alex McCarthy of TalkSPORT, AEW’s William Regal and Bryan Danielson will get in the ring every Wednesday morning at television tapings and teach/work with younger wrestlers. Phones are not allowed but all wrestlers are welcome to attend and participate. Ricky Starks has confirmed that the sessions take place and says that Regal and Danielson regularly engage with him.
Regal says he and Bryan Danielson arrive at AEW TVs and from 11am get in the ring to work/teach. No phones allowed. All the young talent are welcome to get in with them. Ricky Starks confirmed to me he's seen them workin..

WATCH: Former Intercontinental Champion Makes WWE Return In A Different Role

Welcome back. There have been a lot of wrestlers throughout WWE’s history but not all of them have been able to make the biggest impact. While several wrestlers have become famous over the company’s history, there are also some who have become more infamous for one reason or another. Someone who is more in the middle made his return to WWE television this week, albeit in a very different role.
This week’s edition of WWE Monday Night Raw featured a brawl between Seth Rollins and Cody Rhodes as part of the build towards their match inside Hell In A Cell this Sunday. The brawl featured several referees and producers attempting to hold the two apart, including former Intercontinental Champion Curtis Axel. This was the first appearance for Axel on WWE TV since he returned to the company as a producer just after WrestleMania 38.
You might be able to see him. Check out the brawl between Rollins and Rhodes:

Here’s Why Lacey Evans Did Not Appear On Monday Night Raw, Evans’ Funny Response

That’s a valid excuse? There are a lot of criticisms to be made about WWE and one of the bigger problems is that the company does not present a lot of the things that they advertise. This might be a segment or a match but it is rare to see a reason given for the change. It was the case again this week, and now we have a reason why, along with an official response.
WWE had announced that Lacey Evans would be making her return this week on Monday Night Raw but Evans did not appear on the show, with no explanation or mention of Evans given. According to PWInsider.com, WWE decided to send Evans to the Coca Cola 600 NASCAR race on Sunday night as its Grand Marshall and she was unable to return in time for Monday Night Raw. Evans posted a tweet showing herself recovering from posing at the race, including icing down her biceps.
What happens when you stay flexin?? GRAND MARSHAL duties got me laid up. @nascaronfox @wwe @cocacola @nascar it's all your fault!!!!! ?? pic.twitter.com/ZslTFa..

World Champion Confirms Torn Bicep, To Undergo Surgery

Ouch. There are all kinds of ways that wrestlers can get hurt and some of them can be rather devastating. Some of them can leave a wrestler on the sidelines for a long time, which can cause all kinds of other issues. A serious injury that leaves a wrestler hurt for a long time can mean some decisions have to be made about the future, which might be the case again.
Over the weekend, NWA World Champion Matt Cardona posted a tweet saying that he thought he tore his bicep during a match against Blake Christian at a GCW event. Cardona has confirmed that he has since undergone an MRI and confirmed that his bicep has been torn and will require surgery. As a result, Cardona will be forced to miss some dates, though it is not known how long he will be out of action. It is also not known what will happen to the championships he currently holds.
Got a MRI today. Bicep is torn. Surgery needed. Will unfortunately need to cancel some dates.

Update On The WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles (And It’s Not Good)

So much for that. Last month, the biggest story in WWE was the night Sasha Banks and Naomi walked out on Monday Night Raw. The company has since responded to the departure, which included the Women’s Tag Team Titles being vacated. A tournament was announced to crown new champions, but there was no details announced. It turns out that the tournament might be in jeopardy.
According to Wrestling Observer Radio, the tournament will not be taking place whatsoever, at least for the time being. There had been a four team tournament pitched but nothing was ever signed off on and no plan was ever officially made. There is no word on how the tournament will take place, or if anything will happen whatsoever. WWE did not reference the tournament or the titles this week on Monday Night Raw.
Opinion: I would like to believe that the titles are done for good, as there is little reason to have them around. As nice of an idea as they might be, WWE does not have the depth in the women’s division to ma..

That’s A Big One: Stacked Match Added To NXT In Your House

The card grows. With less than a week to go before NXT’s In Your House event, the card is mostly set. While there are several matches already set, there is still time to see something else added to the card. There are several options to pick from with all of the talent in NXT, and now we have a new match added to the card. It turns out that this one will have several people involved.
This week on NXT, a match was announced for In Your House. During a meeting on Santos Escobar’s yacht, Tony D’Angelo and his associates agreed to face Legado del Fantasma in a six man tag. This comes after the two sides have feuded for several months in a turf war for partial control of NXT. This is the first time that the two sides have met with both teams at full strength.
Opinion: This is the kind of match that can do a nice job of building up the show as it will fill in a spot on the card. These two teams have been feuding for several months now and it is nice to see the match actually taking place. ..

It’s the go home show for In Your House and that means we are ready for the final push towards the show. Most of the card is set but there is always the chance that we will be seeing another match added this week. The main event is Nathan Frazer vs. Cameron Grimes, which should be a good one. Let’s get to it.
Diamond Mine is coming to the ring but Roderick Strong tells the Creeds that they have the night off.
Diamond Mine vs. Pretty Deadly Non-title and it’s Strong and Damon Kemp for Diamond Mine. Prince takes Strong into the corner to start and whips him into it again for good measure. Wilson comes in and gets kicked down so Kemp comes in, sending Wilson bailing into the corner. A slap to the face wakes Kemp up and he explodes on Prince, including a bunch of suplexes into a chinlock. It’s back to Strong, who again gets stomped down in the corner, allowing Wilson to for..

REVIEW: Spring Stampede 2000: The New Blood World Order

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be?
