WATCH: Big E. Offers A Pretty Great Update On His Recovery Status

That’s a great sign. There are a lot of injuries in wrestling and so many of them can be completely different than the rest. Sometimes they are built up over time but thers are all at once. The latter can be a lot more devastating as someone can go from fine to trouble in the blink of an eye. That was the case earlier this year but now we have a positive update on recovery.
On the March 11 edition of SmackDown, Big E. suffered a broken neck when Ridge Holland suplexed him on the floor, with Big E. landing on his head. This week, a fan sent Big E. a message on twitter, saying that they were praying for him every day. Big E. responded with a video of himself moving his neck, while singing a song about what he is able to do. There is no word on when or if Big E. will ever wrestle again.
That’s pretty good. Check out Big E.’s progress:

Wrestling Legend Announces He Will Never Wrestle Again

That might be for the best. There have been a lot of wrestlers throughout history but only a few of them have reached the top level. Fans know the biggest names in history because they have left enough of a mark throughout their careers. That is the case with one wrestling legend, though he has announced that he can never wrestle again as the injuries have caught up with him.
During an appearance on the Two Man Power Trip Of Wrestling podcast, WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle revealed that he will never wrestle again after double knee replacement surgery. As a result, he is not wrestling again out of fear of hurting his knees again. Angle said that while he is still in a lot of pain, he can walk around better than before the procedure. His final match took place at WrestleMania 35 against Baron Corbin.
Opinion: Angle is one of the all time greats but it is nice to see that he has finally decided to hang it up. He has such a long history of injuries and sticking around through injuries th..

Fan Called Police On Happy Corbin For Murdering Rey Mysterio

He got the point across. The Coronavirus changed the way the world worked for a long time but things are mainly back to normal. What matters most is that the health issues and worries have mostly gone away, but it is also nice to see some of our old ways of life coming back. That includes wrestling, with one wrestler now being able to tell a story about the pandemic days.
Happy Corbin appeared on Mornings With Matt And Bob in Austin, Texas and talked about the upcoming Money In The Bank pay per view. Corbin also told a story about the 2020 edition, with the briefcase hanging above a ring on top of Titan Towers. During the match, Corbin threw Rey Mysterio off the top of the building, with Mysterio landing via a video edit. According to Corbin, the moment caused at least one fan to call 911 and say that Corbin had killed Mysterio.
Opinion: As ridiculous as it might seem, this is the kind of thing that makes wrestling seem more real. The fan bought into what they were seeing so much tha..

Good News On Injury Status Of WWE Star

That could have been worse. There are a lot of ways a wrestler can get hurt and put on the injured list as a result. It is something that you never want to see, but the question becomes just how long the person is going to be out of action. The amount can range drastically based on the kind of injury, but this time around a pair of them might not be so serious.
Earlier this week, Rhea Ripley announced that she was suffering from both teeth and brain injuries, which will keep her out of action for the time being. This includes preventing her from being able to challenge Rhea Ripley for the Raw Women’s Title at Money in the Bank next month. However, according to Wrestling Observer Radio, Ripley is not expected to be out long term. While she will miss Money in the Bank, she is expected to be back fairly soon.
Opinion: That could be worse as you never want to see someone out of action for a long time, or at all really. Ripley is someone who feels like she could be one of the next breakou..

WATCH: Riddle Makes Appearance On The Tonight Show (Includes Onion Rings And Hockey)

It’s an appearance. Wrestlers are in a weird place when it comes to celebrity status. While they are certainly people known and seen on national television, they are mostly only known for what they do in the wrestling world. However, every now and then you will see them getting to do something else, which makes for some interesting moment. That was the case again this week.
WWE’s Riddle appeared on the Tonight Show on Wednesday night, appearing in a segment called Audience Suggestion Box. A fan wanted to see what would happen when NBA Draft prospect Jalen Williams to shoot an onion ring like a hockey puck, with Riddle appearing as the goaltender. WWE stars have appeared on the Tonight Show on a somewhat regularly basis in various comedy segment.s
This is what it is. Check out Riddle’s Tonight Show appearance:

Switch It Up: AEW Forbidden Door Match Changed Due To Injury

Swap him out. We are on the way to Forbidden Door where AEW stars will face off with New Japan Pro Wrestling wrestlers in a variety of matches. Some of these matches are going to be rather interesting on their own but there are some titles included to spice things up a bit. That is the case with a brand new championship, but now we have a new name trying to win the inaugural title.
New Japan Pro Wrestling has announced that Tomohiro Ishii has suffered a knee injury and is out of the All Atlantic Title match at Forbidden Door. Clark Connors, who Ishii defeated to earn the spot in the match, will take his place in the match. Therefore, Connors will be facing Malakai Black, Pac and Miro for the inaugural title. The other three all won qualifying matches in recent weeks on Dynamite.
Opinion: This is the kind of thing that you cannot expect and Connors being in the match is the most logical thing that can be done. The unfortunate part is the fact that Ishii is the latest in the long strin..

Ouch: Champions Forced To Vacate Titles Due To Injury, New Champions Crowned

History has been made, twice! There are a lot of titles under the WWE banner but some of them are not the most well known. With so many wrestlers spread across so many shows, it is not easy to build up every championship there is. This time though, some of the titles had to be vacated due to an injury, but now we have some new champions to keep the titles going.
Ashton Smith and Oliver Carter vacated the NXT UK Tag Team Titles this week as Smith has ruptured his MCL and will require surgery. As a result, a fatal four way match was held this week, with Josh Briggs and Brooks Jensen winning the titles by defeating Mark Andrews/Wild Boar, Dave Mastiff/Jack Starz and Die Familie. Briggs and Jensen had been vying for a title shot before the match was made.
Opinion: This is the kind of thing that has to be done every now and then and that is still not a good thing. At the end of the day, the champs were injured and someone needed to take their spot. Brooks and Jensen have some more star po..

WATCH: Roman Reigns vs. Seth Rollins From Money in the Bank 2016

Believe In The Shield. WWE has released a new video on YouTube, in which they show the full match between Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins from the 2016 Money in the Bank pay-per-view. Dean Ambrose, who won the “Money in the Bank” briefcase earlier in the evening, would strike while the iron was hot, and cash in his contract to become the new champion.
You can see the match in its entirety below:
[This post contains video, click to play]

From WWE.com:
The Architect fought like a man looking to reclaim both his title and his pride, facing Reigns for the first time without The Authority or J&J Security ready to intervene on his behalf. Some early ring rust aside, Rollins quickly showed he still possessed the skills that took him to the top. But going toe-to-toe with “The Guy” proved to be a poor strategy when Reigns used his strength advantage to overpower his foe with clotheslines, headbutts and a tilt-a-whirl slam to the reeling Rollins.
The Architect remained defiant, if not compet..

REVIEW Bound For Glory 2019: Their Big One

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be?
Bound For Glory 2019

It’s the biggest night of the year and that could mean a lot of things this time around. The main event will see World Champion Brian Cage defending the title against Sami Callihan in a match that was made personal when Callihan attacked Cage’s wife Melissa Santos. In addition, we have Ken Shamrock returning to the ring to face Moose because….star power I guess? Let get to it.

WATCH: Jim Duggan’s Inspirational Message About His Health Issues (This Is Great)

That’s the spirit. Wrestlers are larger than life characters that we watch every single week on TV. That can give us some different impressions of them, but ultimately they are regular people when the cameras go off. Unfortunately that includes serious problems that a lot of us go through, and now a wrestling legend is taking a different look at some of the issues that he is dealing with at the moment.
WWE Hall of Famer Jim Duggan has posted a video to Twitter, talking about his recent health issues. Duggan is currently undergoing radiation to deal with prostate cancer but said that he is no longer going to feel sorry for himself. He talked about how glad he is to only have six weeks left of radiation treatment and how many people have it worse than he does. Duggan has had his prostate removed as well as beating kidney cancer in the 1990s.
This is a pretty awesome statement. Check out Duggan’s inspiration message:

What Could Have Been: NXT Star Turned Down Main Roster Spot For Special Reason

They had plans. There are several wrestling families throughout the industries and some of them are among the most famous names in the business. Various families have certain things that make them stand out, including wrestling moves, attire or something else. Adding a new member of the family can mean a lot and that was almost the case again last year.
During an interview with WWE On BT Sports, NXT’s Solo Sikoa revealed that WWE originally planned to bring him up to the main roster and pair him with his brothers the Usos. Sikoa turned down the offer though, saying he wanted to be on his own rather than part of the team. During the next meeting, WWE began to talk about him as a singles wrestler. Sikoa made his NXT debut in November 2021.
“I don't want to be referred to as their brother, their cousin, I want people to recognise me for me.”
“Before I debuted, they wanted to put me with the @WWEUsos, but they said 'let's see what you can do alone.'”@WWESoloSikoa on ..

It Keeps Going: Even More AEW Stars Out Of Action With Injuries

Add them to the list. There have been a variety of injuries throughout wrestling in recent weeks and some of them have been a lot more serious than others. AEW has been hit rather hard by the injury bug and unfortunately it seems that things are going to be worse. There are multiple new names on the injured list, plus one more wrestler who is working through an injury.
This week on AEW Dynamite, Stokely Hathaway announced that Red Velvet has suffered an undisclosed injury and will be out of action. In addition, the Bunny has announced that she is also dealing with an undisclosed injury and has not wrestled since April 20. Finally Buddy Matthews has revealed that he is dealing with a shoulder injury but will continue to work through it going forward.
I’m injured right now but I’ll be back in the ring once I’m all healed up ??? https://t.co/JSwMR1ibAQ
