No More? Top AEW Tag Team May Be Going Their Separate Ways

There could be a problem. AEW has been around for over three years now and the company’s tag team division continues to be one of its greatest strengths. The company has all kinds of great tag teams and the division has grown even stronger over time. That is the kind of thing that few promotions are able to do, but now one of the teams might not have much longer together.
According to the Fightful review of AEW’s Blood & Guts, there has been some kind of a falling out between AEW’s Santa and Ortiz. The team has only wrestled two regular tag team matches in AEW this year, with their most recent taking place in March. They also no longer stand next to each other during segments and Santana has been taking solo independent bookings. There is no word on if the team will split or what caused any possible issue in the first place.
Opinion: This is a situation where the two people involved know what is going on and that is what matters. As a fan, I would be sad to see the team split as they..

WRESTLING RUMORS: Ronda Rousey Demanded Liv Morgan Beat Her

A selfless star. The WWE women’s division has come a long way and a lot of that is due to their star power. The company has a group of top names who have taken the division further than almost anyone could have thought possible. However, at some point you need someone new to fill in the spots, and that seems to be what one of the top starts wanted to do with a new face.
Over the weekend, Liv Morgan defeated Ronda Rousey at Money In The Bank to become the new SmackDown Women’s Champion. According to Rousey’s personal photographer Lazie the Savage on his Instagram stories, Rousey herself demanded that Morgan win the title, calling her the most passionate pro wrestler. The title win was the first in Morgan’s WWE career and she is likely defending the title against Rousey in a rematch at Summerslam.

His Time? WWE High On Young Star, Considering Giving Him A Push

Maybe he’s next. There are a lot of stars in WWE today and some of them have been in their spots for a long time. That can be quite the benefit to have as WWE knows what they have available and what works, but at some point something needs to change. Eventually you need a new crop of talent and now WWE might have its sights on someone else who could move up the ranks.
According to Wrestling Observer Radio, there are some in WWE who are interested in pushing Montez Ford as a singles star. This is partially due to Ford’s new physique, which has become more prominent in recent weeks. Ford has never been a singles star on the main roster, as he has always teamed with Angelo Dawkins as the Street Profits. There is no word on if or when such a push would take place.
Opinion: I don’t think there is any secret to the fact that Ford has the potential to be a top singles star sooner rather than later. He is in his early 30s, has more athletic ability than he knows what to do with and is a ball..

WATCH: Theory Wasn’t Done After Money In The Bank, Talks John Cena

He had something to say. With so many wrestlers on the WWE roster, it can be difficult to find someone who stands out. It takes something special to make it work, but every now and then you see a wrestler who is the total package and gets your attention no matter what they are doing. That is the case with a current WWE star and he had something to say after the biggest win of his career.
Over the weekend, WWE held its annual Money In The Bank event with Theory winning the men’s namesake match in the main event. After the show was over, Theory took the microphone and bragged about his win, saying that you could not deny his talent as the youngest Mr. Money In The Bank ever. Theory also mentioned John Cena, who he interacted with this week on Monday Night Raw. This comes as rumors of a possible match between the two have been circulating, perhaps for WrestleMania 39.
This is quite the moment for him. Check out Theory’s speech (the video was originally sideways):

NXT LVL Up Results – July 1, 2022

NXT LVL Up
Date: July 1, 2022
Location: Capitol Wrestling Center, Orlando, Florida
Commentators: Nigel McGuinness, Sudu Shah
It’s the second half of the year and odds are that is not going to make the slightest bit of difference around here. This show has gotten into another funk as of late and I wonder if that is due to the NXT house show circuit starting up again. Those shows are far more valuable than this one and WWE seems to realize that. Let’s get to it.
Opening sequence.
Stacks vs. Hank Walker Tony D’Angelo is here with Stacks. This is Walker’s debut and he’s in jeans and a collared shirt. Walker takes him down into an armbar and does it again for a bonus. Back up and a knee to the ribs cuts off Stacks as we talk about something unfortunate happening to some (unnamed) member of the D’Angelo Family. A shot to the face drops Walker and we hit the neck crank but he is right back with a backslide. Walker fights out of another neck crank and takes off his shirt. Stacks kicks him d..

Details On WWE Backstage Meeting At Money In The Bank

All hands on deck. Things have been changing in a very big way as of late in WWE. The company has seen several backstage changes in all kinds of areas, but the biggest by far is Vince McMahon stepping back as Chairman of the Board and CEO. His daughter Stephanie has taken his place and the locker room got to hear from their new boss in a special meeting over the weekend.
According to Fightful Select, WWE held a talent meeting before this weekend’s Money In The Bank. Stephanie, Triple H and Nick Khan appeared at the meeting, which focused on things that were already known. Stephanie reiterated that her door was always open and everything was well received. There is nothing to suggest that Vince was at the meeting, though he was in town for the show.
Opinion: This isn’t the biggest surprise and it is not a bad thing. WWE is in a period of adjustment at the moment and it is a good idea to have the head of the company there to say that things are going well. Hopefully things are straight..

KB’s Review: Who Is AEW

Last weekend, AEW presented the first ever Forbidden Door pay per view, showing that the door is neither closed nor forbidden. The show focused on a series of matches between AEW and New Japan, meaning that the quality was very high with one good match after another. The same cannot exactly be said for the build to the show, which was choppy at best and all over the place (in a bad way) at the worst. That situation is kind of a microcosm of AEW’s entire history as a whole and that is what we are going to look at today.
AEW has been around for a little over three years, with its first event taking place in May 2019. This came after All In from the previous fall, which was basically the result of a bet between the original Elite and Dave Meltzer. The whole thing then took on a life of its own and Tony Khan (and his wallet) got involved, setting the stage for the AEW we now know (at least in theory).
This had a lot of fans rather excited as for the first time in a LONG time there was a ..

Take Two: WWE Planning Money In The Bank Rematch For Summerslam

Run it back? WWE runs a lot of major evens throughout the course of the year and some of them are among the biggest in all of wrestling. That is the case in the summer as well, as can be seen this year. Over the weekend WWE presented its annual Money In The Bank event, with Summerslam following only four weeks later. That means the card needs to be set, and now we might be getting ready for a rematch.
At Money In The Bank, Liv Morgan cashed in her Money In The Bank briefcase to defeat Ronda Rousey and win the SmackDown Women’s Title for the first time. Following the win, Rousey congratulated Morgan and left without any incident. According to F4WOnline.com, the current plan is for Morgan to defend the title against Rousey at Summerslam in a rematch.
Opinion: This is what you kind of had to expect but it has me worried in more than a few ways. The biggest problem here is that I’m not sure I can buy Morgan retaining the title over Rousey. There are ways around it, such as interference b..

Israel Adesanya Comes Out To The Undertaker’s Music

Greatness recognizes greatness. Last night at UFC 276, Israel Adesanya competed in the main event. To do so, he came out in one of the greatest entrances in UFC history; using The Undertaker’s music and imagery.
You can see the entrance below:

From ESPN:
In a clinical, albeit unspectacular, performance, Israel Adesanya outpointed Jared Cannonier via unanimous decision to retain his middleweight title in the main event of UFC 276 on Saturday night at T-Mobile Arena.
The judges scored the bout 49-46, 49-46, and 50-45.
Adesanya’s superiority in striking was evident throughout the bout. Cannonier landed nothing of real significance, with Adesanya keeping him at a distance and picking his opponent apart with jabs and kicks to the body and legs.
The crowd grew restless with the lack of thrilling action, especially in the fourth round, which was marked by boos and fans raising lit-up smartphones. But Cannonier did nothing to push Adesanya, a f..

Vince McMahon, Stephanie, Triple H & Pat McAfee Appear at UFC 276

Their night wasn’t done, last night at UFC 276, several celebrities and superstars were in attendance. This included the McMahon family, as well as Pat McAfee, who took in the show.
You can see their brief appearance below:

Earlier in the night, WWE hosted their 2022 Money in the Bank pay-per-view event, which was held at the MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas. At the conclusion of the show, McAfee was attacked by Baron Corbin, setting up a match between the two at SummerSlam. This is why he was in the neck brace, to further sell his injuries.
UFC was held at the T-Mobile arena, also in Las Vegas. The main event saw Israel Adesanya defeat Jared Cannonier by unanimous decision to retain his Middleweight championship.
Editor’s Opinion:
I love stuff like this. I know that everyone is going to say that Vince McMahon shouldn’t be doing what he’s doing, considering all of the legal trouble that he is in right now. But I don’t see any problem with hi..

New Vignette Airs During Money in the Bank 2022

Who could it be? Last night, at the Money in the Bank 2022 pay-per-view, a brand new vignette aired featuring a number of strange symbols. Included were creepy music, a cross, candles, and others.
You can see the vignette below:
[This post contains video, click to play]

Editor’s Opinion:
Usually, I don’t write opinions this long, but when all you have to work with is the vignette, all that’s left to do is start giving opinions and try to break down what it might mean. My initial thought was that it was the return of bray Wyatt, as these types of things were what he specialized in.
However, the common theory going around the Internet right now is that it is the return of edge. There were gold medals, a cross, armbands, and glasses with tape in the middle; all throwbacks to some of his previous feuds with legends over the years. The current theory is that it could be the return of his Brood character, as he comes back to face Judgment Day, who turned on him a few weeks ago. As alwa..

It’s A Little Different: WWE Announces Special Grudge Match For Summerslam

The big stage. Wrestling has a long history of athletes from more mainstream sports stepping between the ropes. This can create quite the level of interest as fans of both sports can get interested in seeing what happens when worlds collide. Sometimes you get a big success in the form of a hidden gem, and that might be the case again as a former football star is stepping into the ring one more time.
WWE has announced that SmackDown broadcaster Pac McAfee will be returning to the ring at Summerslam to face Happy Corbin. The match was made after Corbin attacked McAfee after Money In The Bank went off the air. McAfee has been calling out Corbin for the last several weeks, including insulting him to the live audiences. This will be McAfee’s second singles match on the main roster after he defeated Theory at WrestleMania 38.
Opinion: This match being confirmed seemed to be more a matter of time rather than any kind of a surprise. The match has been teased for a few weeks now and WWE is no..
