YES! Important And Positive Medical Update On AEW’s Bryan Danielson

That is one step forward. You see wrestlers get injured on a regular basis, but there are times where you do not know what that is going to mean. If a wrestler breaks a bone or something a bit more simple like that, you might have an idea of how long they are going to be out of action. There are other kinds of injuries that are a bit more complicated though, and now we know a bit more about the status of one of the biggest stars in the world.
Back at AEW Double Or Nothing, Bryan Danielson suffered a concussion during the Anarchy In The Arena match and has not wrestled since. When Danielson did make an appearance on Dynamite, he said that he was fine mentally but needed to be medically cleared. According to Dave Meltzer on the Sunday Night’s Main Event podcast, Danielson has recovered from his concussion, but AEW President Tony Khan is not allowing him to return yet in an effort to allow Danielson more time to heal. It is not clear when Danielson will be wrestling again.

Success! Chris Jericho And Company Win Gold In A Rather Different Way

Put it in the trophy case. There are a lot of very talented wrestlers in the world, as getting in the ring and having a match is quite the impressive feat. It takes a lot of skills to make something like that work and you can see some of the best in the world do it every week on AEW TV. This time though, one of AEW’s top stars has accomplished something impressive of his own, and it has nothing to do with wrestling.
AEW’s Chris Jericho has announced that his band Fozzy’s Judas has earned a gold record, meaning that it has sold five hundred thousand copies. Jericho made the announcement in a tweet and thanked everyone who helped the record reach the milestone. Judas has served as Jericho’s theme music in AEW since his debut and the live audience sings along with it during Jericho’s entrance.
For 22 years I’ve heard all the cutdowns & insults about @FOZZYROCK. Well now, WE can all stand behind what our band and hundreds of thousands of our fans worldwide have always known… FOZZY ROCKS!..

The Rock’s Daughter Cuts First Promo In NXT

There’s the new generation. There are a lot of ways for a wrestler to get into the industry, but one of the things that can offer some instant credibility is being a second generation star. A wrestler with family in the business feels like a bigger deal because they have a connection to the sport and have probably learned more than the average newcomer. That was the case again this weekend, as the daughter of an all time legend took her first step into a much larger world.
Dwayne Johnson’s daughter Simone, under the name of Ava Raine, cut her first promo at an NXT live event in Orlando, Florida over the weekend. Raine called herself the Final Girl and talked down about the rest of the NXT women’s division, including Cora Jade. There is currently no word on when Raine will either have her first match or make her television debut.
Tonight was reportedly Simone Johnson's first promo in front of fans #WWENXT #nxtorlando @AvaRaineWWE https://t.co/oDWvtJmx95

Back At It: Wrestling Legend Wrestles First Match In Over Two Years

Welcome back. Throughout history, there have been more wrestlers than can be reasonably counted. With so many names out there, it takes a lot to become a true star, but the names who are legends are at that level for a reason. You know a legend when you see one, and over the weekend, one of the legends of the modern era made his return to the ring for the first time in over two years.
WWE Hall Of Famer Booker T. returned to the ring at the Summer Of Champions VIII event for his Reality Of Wrestling promotion. The match saw Booker T. team with the Mysterious Q, Bryan Keith, Blake Cortez and Gaspar Hernandez to face Team Sharmell. This was his first match since February 2020 when he wrestled in an eight man tag as GI Bro. There is no word on when his next match will take place.

Backstage Update On What Vince McMahon Allegations Currently Mean For WWE

He’s still the boss. There have been a lot of changes backstage in WWE in recent months and a lot of them have been centered around Vince McMahon. The company’s owner is facing serious allegations of sexual misconduct amid an internal investigation into his affairs with various women. The latest batch came out this week, and now we know a bit more about their immediate impact.
According to PWInsider.com, McMahon was present at this week’s SmackDown and in charge of the entire show. McMahon held full creative control of the show and the night was described as “The Vince McMahon Show”. McMahon was said to not bring any attention to the allegations against him. Triple H and Stephanie McMahon were not backstage for the show.
Opinion: Is this really a surprise? Vince is going to be in charge of pretty much anything WWE related for as long as he is allowed to and that has been the case for as long as anyone can remember. While he is under investigation, he is still going to be the boss no ..

WATCH: AEW Runs Violent Angle At Autograph Signing

It can happen anywhere. There are a lot of ways to present a wrestling show but at the end of the day, almost all of the action takes place in the ring, or at least the arena. It can be nice to break out of the same place every now and then, as you can find some different ways to present a story. That was the case this weekend, as a fight broke out in a surprising place.
Over the weekend, AEW ran an angle at an autograph signing featuring Brody King attacking Darby Allin. King appeared at Allin’s signing in Seattle and powerbombed him through a table before leaving. This comes after the two had another angle following this week’s edition of AEW Dynamite. There has not been a match announced between them yet.
It was a big deal. Check out what happened at the signing:

Opinion: This is the kind of thing that I like to see for a change. Instead of just doing the same old stuff over and over again, AEW threw a little twist out there and that is ..

Anyone Seen Her? Tony Khan Offers Status Update On Missing AEW Star

You kind of had to expect it. Injuries can be one of the worst things in all of wrestling as they can slow down a wrestler’s rise to the top in the blink of an eye. As bad as it is to see someone get hurt, it also brings up the question of how long they are going to be out. That can make for a rather long waiting period and now we know a bit more about a name who has been missing.
Over the weekend, a fan asked AEW President Tony Khan if he had given up on Penelope Ford. Khan responded, saying that not only had he not given up on her, but he found her to be a great wrestler. However, Ford is currently out of action with an unspecified medical issue and Khan says he is waiting for her to be medically cleared. Ford has not wrestled since the January 15 edition of AEW Dark.
Not at all, total opposite in fact; she’s a great wrestler, and I can’t wait until she’s medically cleared to come back. She’s been in some classic @AEW matches, and hopefully she’ll be in many more!#AEWRampage

Feel The Pinch: WWE Budget Cuts Causing Backstage Issues

That’s not going to go well. WWE needs a lot of people behind the scenes to make a show work well. While the wrestlers are the focal points of the show, there are several people who work together to make the wrestlers look better. In WWE, these people are called producers, and now it seems that they are going to be doing a good bit more work for the foreseeable future.
According to PWInsider.com, budget cuts in WWE have caused the company to not use as many producers. This includes Curtis Axel and Ariya Daivari not being brought in full time after a tryout that began just after WrestleMania 38. The producers had been hoping for more help to be brought in due to the amount of work needed in the job but budget cuts have prevented this from happening. As a result, the WWE producers are described as being “extremely overworked”.
Opinion: This is one of those things that keeps happening in WWE and it shouldn’t be a surprise when the situation is not going well backstage. It also can’t be ..

The Big Time: WWE Announces Stacked Main Event For Major Upcoming Show

They might need a new plan. WWE is getting into its busy season as Summerslam is less than three weeks away. That means things are starting to pick up and the question becomes what WWE has planned to draw in the fans in the busier season. This is easier said than done, but it seems that WWE does have something in mind, at least for one of its bigger non-pay per view events of the year.
According to PWInsider.com, the new main event for the July 25 Monday Night Raw in Madison Square Garden will feature the Street Profits and Riddle teaming up to face the Bloodline in a six man tag. There is a strong chance that this will be a dark match. Reigns had previously been advertised for the event, though there was no word on what he would be doing.
Opinion: This does sound like a dark match main event and that is not a bad idea. Having Reigns show up for an appearance on the go home Monday Night Raw for Summerslam makes sense as well and hopefully WWE has something good for him. Reigns is alr..

WWE Star Reveals She Is Currently Wearing A Heart Monitor

That sounds a bit more serious. There are all kinds of medical issues in wrestling and some of them can be quite bad. You see wrestlers get hurt all the time in one way or another, but there are often other issues that take place beneath the surface that you might not know about unless someone brings it up. That is the case again, and this time it is something rather important.
Rhea Ripley has revealed that she is currently wearing a heart monitor. In a post on Twitter, Ripley showed herself wearing the monster and said “I’m Iron Man”. There is no word on why Ripley is wearing the monitor or how long she will need it. Ripley has been out of action since June, having to drop out of her Raw Women’s Title match against Bianca Belair. Ripley did not announce when she would return to the ring.

REVIEW: Summerslam 1992: The British Classic

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be?
Summerslam 1992
Date: August 31, 1992
Location: Wembley Stadium, London, England
Attendance: 80,355
Commentators: Vince McMahon, Bobby Heenan
Most of the older editions are in need of an update so we’ll knock out this one. This is one of the biggest crowds in wrestling history and they’re in for a pretty major show. We have a double main event of Randy Savage defending the WWF Title against the Ultimate Warrior and the instant classic of Bret Hart vs. British Bulldog for the Intercontinental Title. Guess what’s he..

AEW Rampage Results – July 8, 2022

Rampage
Date: July 8, 2022
Location: Blue Cross Arena, Rochester, New York
Commentators: Excalibur, Taz, Jim Ross
We’re in for a pretty stacked show this week with Konosuke Takeshita vs. Eddie Kingston and some Ring Of Honor stars, including World Champion Jonathan Gresham, getting their TV time. Throw in Orange Cassidy vs. Tony Nese for Swerve Strickland’s AEW contract, because reasons, and let’s get to it.
Opening sequence.
Konosuke Takeshita vs. Eddie Kingston They shove each other around to start and then head to the mat, with neither being able to go anywhere. Excalibur lets us know that we just saw a replay of Jumbo Tsuruta vs. Mitsuharu Misawa. Kingston takes him down and cranks on both arms, with Takeshita reversing into a double crank of his own.
That reversal is reversed into another reversal before the rope gets Takeshita out of trouble. The head into the corner with Kingston firing off the machine gun chops. Takeshita hits some better forearms but gets headbutted down h..
