Survivor Series 2022 Date: November 26, 2022 Location: TD Garden, Boston, Massachusetts Commentators: Kevin Patrick, Michael Cole, Corey Graves, Wade Barrett It’s time for WarGames and no that still doesn’t feel right to say. We have a men’s and women’s version of the match here and that should make for a great core of the show. There are only five matches on the card but double WarGames is probably enough to carry things, especially with the Bloodline vs. Team Drew McIntyre as the likely headliner. Let’s get to it. The opening video is a five minute Ozzy Osborne music video, with Ozzy saying Welcome To WarGames at the end. Team Belair vs. Team Damage Ctrl Bianca Belair, Asuka, Alexa Bliss, Becky Lynch, Mia Yim Bayley, Iyo Sky, Dakota Kai, Rhea Ripley, Nikki Cross If you’re not familiar, we have two teams of five, with each team sending in a person for dive minutes. After that, the team who won the advantage coming into the match (Damage Ctrl in this case) will send in its second w..

WATCH: Triple H Discusses The Future Of Hell In A Cell Match

•

Well, maybe? WWE is in the middle of a series of huge changes and there is nothing to suggest that those changes are ending anytime soon. Some of the changes involve the company premium live events calendar changing, but very little has been confirmed so far. Now we are hearing a little bit more about this from one of the most powerful people in wrestling today. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Do It Again: Title Change Takes Place At WWE Survivor Series WWE held a press conference after this weekend’s Survivor Series event, featuring WWE Head Of Creative Triple H answering questions. Triple H spoke about the idea of themed events, such as Money In The Bank, Elimination Chamber and Hell In A Cell continuing. Regarding Hell In A Cell, Triple H said that it was the match that made sense as a challenge match to end a feud, such as how he and Mick Foley faced off at No Way Out 2000. However, Triple H did not give a definitive answer on the show and/or match’s fate, only saying that it was “up in t..

Do It Again: Title Change Takes Place At WWE Survivor Series

•

Hand it over. Winning a title can be the kind of change that makes all the difference in the world for a wrestler’s career. A wrestler becoming a champion for the first time often suggests that the promotion is moving them up to the next level and that there is some hope for your future. That being said, winning a title for the second time is an even more positive sign and that was the case this weekend. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Out For A Bit: WWE Star Likely Written Off Television With Severe Injuries This weekend at Survivor Series 2022, Austin Theory defeated Bobby Lashley and reigning champion Seth Rollins to become the United States Champion for the second time. Theory held the title for about two and a half months earlier this years, with Lashley and then Rollins taking it. The title win comes after Theory declared his intent to become more serious and violent. It has been a road for Theory. Out For A Bit: WWE Star Likely Written Off Television With Severe Injuries

•

It’s a dangerous sport. There are all kinds of ways for a wrestler to be written off of television and many of them can be used to advance a storyline. These can be in the form of another wrestler doing something to get rid of their rival, including attacking them rather violently. That happened twice this week and it has resulted in a wrestler being written onto the shelf. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Really, Him? Road Dogg Alleges Brock Lesnar Would Not Work With This One WWE Star This week’s SmackDown featured a backstage segment where Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler attacked Raquel Rodriguez and slammed her arm in an equipment case. Later in the night, Rodriguez teamed with Shotzi against Baszler and Rousey, both of whom did further damage to her arm. Shotzi announced that Rodriguez had suffered a broken arm and a dislocated elbow. There is no word on how long Rodriguez will be out of action, though there is nothing to suggest that this is anything but a storyline. It was a rough nigh..

Survivor Series 2022 Preview, Predictions And Thoughts

•

It’s time for Survivor Series and for the first time in years, there is a feeling of interest about the show. Instead of the completely dead in the water Raw vs. Smackdown Battle For Brand Supremacy, WWE has thrown their old ideas out the window and brought in a pair of WarGames matches. That alone should be enough to carry the show and….well there are only three more matches so WarGames is kind of carrying things. Let’s get to it. AJ Styles vs. Finn Balor I would have bet on this being the elimination match but instead we’ll just have Judgment Day and the OC at ringside to make things more crowded. Then again, I think I can go with the idea of Balor vs. Styles on a major show and likely getting a lot of time. That being said, Styles hasn’t won a singles match on pay per view in something like three years, so there might not be so much drama. Judgment Day has dominated the feud so far and it makes sense for them to do it again here, so I’ll go with Balor. At the end of the day, the O..

REVIEW: Survivor Series 2019: Oh Yeah, I Went There

•

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over ten years now and have reviewed over 5,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be? Survivor Series 2019 Date: November 24, 2019 Location: Allstate Arena, Chicago, Illinois Commentators: Michael Cole, Corey Graves, Vic Joseph, Jerry Lawler, Nigel McGuinness, Beth Phoenix We have finally arrived. After several weeks of Raw, Smackdown and NXT invading each others’ shows, it is time to see which show is best and that could be interesting. Raw has won the competition three years in a row, though this is NXT’s first time being included. The card looks good, albeit huge. Let’s get to it. I was in the are..

Really, Him? Road Dogg Alleges Brock Lesnar Would Not Work With This One WWE Star

•

Just him? There are very few wrestlers in the history of WWE on the same level as Brock Lesnar. Immediately upon his debut, Lesnar was presented as The Next Big Thing and he has been a monster in the company during his on and off career. It means something for a wrestler to be paired with Lesnar, but there is reportedly one name that he would not work with for some reason. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: When Worlds Collide? WWE Veteran Would Return After 11 Years To Work With Roman Reigns One of the feature matched at Survivor Series 2017 was AJ Styles vs. Lesnar in a battle of World Champions. Styles defeated Jinder Mahal to win the WWE Title less than a month before the match, following an announced match between Mahal and Lesnar. According to Road Dogg on his Oh You Didn’t Know podcast, Lesnar had no problem working with Mahal, but rather felt that he could have a better match with Styles. Dogg said he had never heard of Lesnar not wanting to work with anyone in WWE, save for only Kevin O..

When Worlds Collide? WWE Veteran Would Return After 11 Years To Work With Roman Reigns

Family feud? The last two plus years in WWE have been all about Roman Reigns. With one of the longest World Title reigns in history, there is no way of knowing how long it will be before Reigns finally loses his title. Several names have wanted to get in on the Reigns train, and now we are seeing another member a very prominent wrestling family throwing his hat into the ring. A Relief: Logan Paul Reveals Very Good News On His Knee Injury

•

That could be a lot worse. One of the worst things about an injury is wondering how long someone is going to be out of action. A wrestler can get banged up out of nowhere and need to go on the shelf for awhile, but the question becomes just how long. It can be great news when something is nowhere near as bad as it seems and thankfully that seems to be what is happening with a WWE star. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: RKNo: Another Bad Randy Orton Injury Update Earlier this month at WWE Crown Jewel, Logan Paul unsuccessfully challenged Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Championship. Following his loss, Paul revealed that he had suffered multiple knee injuries during the match. Paul has released a video on his YouTube page, announcing that he has suffered a torn MCL and will need a minimum six weeks to heal. Paul also revealed that he will be undergoing physical therapy and did not mention needing surgery. There is no word on when he will be returning to the ring. Paul does have something to..

RKNo: Another Bad Randy Orton Injury Update

•

That’s rather serious. Injuries are one of the worst things that can happen to a wrestler as you never know how bad something is going to be at first. Then comes the waiting, as you have nothing else to do but see just how long someone is going to be out of action. Sometimes that can be for a good while and in worse cases, it can be indefinite. Unfortunately an all time legend is dealing with the latter. Back in May, Randy Orton left WWE TV to deal with a back injury and has not been seen since. According to Fightful Select, Orton underwent some sort of back fusion surgery at some point this year. WWE sources have reportedly said that the company will be lucky to have Orton back after his recovery. However, when he was initially injured, Orton said that he would be back at some point. There is nothing in the way of a guess about when Orton could return to the ring. Orton is amazing when he is able to be in the ring. SmackDown Results – November 25, 2022

Smackdown Date: November 25, 2022 Location: Amica Mutual Pavilion, Providence, Rhode Island Commentators: Michael Cole, Wade Barrett It’s the go home show for Survivor Series and we have a big time main event. This week it’s the Usos vs. Sheamus/Drew McIntyre for the WarGames advantage and what wouldn’t surprise me as a big preview for a future Tag Team Title match. Other than that, we’ll find out the final member of Team Belair, so let’s get to it. Team Damage Ctrl is in the ring to start and Bayley doesn’t want to waste any time. She wants to know who the fifth member of Team Belair is right now, so here is Team Belair in a hurry. Belair doesn’t waste time and introduces the fifth member of her team: the returning Becky Lynch. The brawl is quickly on, with Team Belair clearing the ring. Smackdown World Cup Semifinals: Butch vs. Santos Escobar The rest of their teams are at ringside and Zelina Vega joins commentary. Impact Wrestling Date: November 24, 2022 Hosts: Tom Hannifan, Matthew Rehwoldt It’s Thanksgiving and that means we are in for a special Best Of show around here. That’s about as logical as you’re going to get for this time of year as there is no reason to believe that anyone is going to pay attention to a show on such a big holiday. You never know what you’ll see on something like this but let’s get to it. Opening sequence. The hosts welcome us to the show and promise us some great Thanksgiving moments, plus a look at Overdrive. We’ll start with Thanksgiving 2008, with Rhino pinning Alex Shelley in a triple threat match also involving Sheik Abdul Bashir. As a result, Rhino gets $25,000 and Shelley has to wear a turkey suit, as enforced by Mick Foley with threats of firings/bad history lessons. Wrestlers say what they are thankful for (Joe Hendry is thankful for mirrors because he gets to see who he really is). Deaner asks Eric Young if this is the end of Violent By Design but doe..

She’ll Do: Former Champion Returns To Complete Bianca Belair’s WarGames Team

And she makes five. There are several ways to present a wrestler in a new way and some of them can be a lot of fun. One of the best ways is to have someone come back as a surprise after several weeks if not months away. Sometimes a star’s return is built up a long time in advance but others come out of nowhere. The latter was the situation this week in a special way. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: WRESTLING RUMORS: WWE Considers First Time Opponent For Brock Lesnar At WrestleMania 39 This Saturday, WWE will present its annual Survivor Series event, which will be headlined by a pair of WarGames matches. WRESTLING RUMORS: WWE Considers First Time Opponent For Brock Lesnar At WrestleMania 39

•

That would be a big one. We are coming close to the end of the year and that means WWE should already be planning for the next year, including WrestleMania 39. The show will be held on the grand stage in Los Angeles, California and that means WWE is going to need to pull out all the stops to make the show feel huge. They already might be planning for a clash of the titans. According to Xero News on Twitter, WWE is considering a match between Brock Lesnar and Intercontinental Champion Gunther at WrestleMania 39. There is no word on if the Intercontinental Title would be up for grabs, as Gunther could lose the title by then or wrestle in a non-title match. There is nothing to confirm that the match has been set for the show and this is only a discussion at the moment. Lesnar vs Gunther is being discussed for WM39 No word yet in if will be for Title or not. — Xero News (@NewsXero) November 24, 2022 This would be a fight. WATCH: Longtime AEW Stable Loses Member In Emotional Moment

•

It was nice while it lasted. AEW is a promotion with a large roster and only a few hours of television a week. As a result, their best option is to have several of their wrestlers put together in stables. This has been the case since the company was founded, but sometimes those stables have major issues. That was on display again this week, as a long running stable lost a member. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: It’s An Idea: Original Concept For AEW Interim Titles, Possible Thinking Behind Them The main event of this week’s AEW Rampage saw the Dark Order team up against La Faccion Ingobernable. Following the match, 10 unmasked and threw his mask at Negative One, who had brought him out to the ring. This comes after weeks of Rush trying to purchase 10 from the Dark Order. This was devastating. Check out how everythi..

Rampage Date: November 25, 2022 Location: Wintrust Arena, Chicago, Illinois Commentators: Ian Riccaboni, Tony Schiavone, Jim Ross, Excalibur It’s time for the other Chicago show of the week and we have a title match this time around. The Ring Of Honor Tag Team Titles are on the line as FTR defends against Top Flight, which has me wondering what is next for them at Final Battle. Speaking of Final Battle, it might be smart to announce something for the show. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Ring Of Honor Tag Team Titles: FTR vs. Top Flight FTR is defending. Harwood takes Darius down to start before quickly handing it off to Wheeler for some chops. Darius armdrags him into an armbar and it’s off to Dante, who gets forearmed in the head over and over. It’s back to Darius off a blind tag for a heck of a DDT and a near fall. Top Flight gets in some double teaming to take FTR down and they all brawl to the floor as we take a break. Not A Fan: Former WWE Star Says Shane McMahon’s Matches Hurt The Business

•

That’s not exactly praise. There have been all kinds of changes in the wrestling world this year but the biggest has been the change in regime in the WWE. After nearly forty years of Vince McMahon being in charge, there are new bosses at the helm, meaning the McMahons no longer have full authority. Now one former WWE star has something to say about a member of the family. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: WATCH: The Miz Fights A Cactus (And Loses) During a recent edition of his Cafe de Rene podcast, former WWE star Rene Dupree spoke about Shane McMahon, talking about how Shane’s matches would hurt the business. Shane has been gone from WWE since this year’s Royal Rumble in January, allegedly due to backstage disagreements over how he would be presented. Shane does do a lot of things in the ring. It’s An Idea: Original Concept For AEW Interim Titles, Possible Thinking Behind Them

•

They have a plan for that. Titles are one of the most important concepts in all of wrestling and it means a lot when one of them changes hands. Occasionally a title change might not be the planned outcome and something else needs to be done. That was the case multiple times this year in AEW so they came up with a unique solution. Now we have some more clarification on their idea. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: That’s Different: Chris Jericho Speaks On Experiences With Time Displacement And Spirits This week on AEW Dynamite, Jamie Hayter was promoted from Interim AEW Women’s Champion to full Women’s Champion as Thunder Rosa was officially stripped of the title. According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, the original idea for introducing an interim title of any kind was to keep the AEW World Title on an injured CM Punk e..

It’s a dangerous sport. There are all kinds of ways a wrestler can be injured in the ring, but there are even more possible issues outside of the ring. It can be a terrible thing to see a wrestler be hurt, but not all injures are created equally. There are instances where an injury might not be as serious as another, and it certainly helps when the injury doesn’t seem to actually have happened. That seems to be the case again.
