He Did It! Road Dogg Reveals Who Was Behind Unsolved WWE Mystery

•

There’s the reveal. There are so many stories that take place during any given week of WWE programming that it can be difficult to keep track of all of them. That can be the case for the fans as well as the company itself, as there are times when stories are left hanging with no resolution. Now we know where something was going to go but WWE never actually did anything about it. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: No More: Sasha Banks Reportedly “Done” With WWE, What Caused The Split On the July 4, 2016 edition of Monday Night Raw, a food fight broke out at the 4th of July backstage party. Kevin Owens was the only person who did not get covered in food during the fight, but at the end of the segment, an unseen person hit him with a pie. The person who threw the pie has never been revealed on WWE television. Following the segment, several WWE videos attempted to figure out who did it, with no success. However, according to the Road Dogg on his Oh…You Didn’t Know podcast, Vince McMahon was going to..

Another one for the history books. This past Sunday at NXT Deadline, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods captured the NXT tag team championships by defeating Pretty Deadly. While this was a great moment for The New Day, this championship victory was also historic in a number of ways. No More: Sasha Banks Reportedly “Done” With WWE, What Caused The Split

•

That’s a game changer. There have been all kinds of wrestling stories this year and one of the most intriguing has been that of Sasha Banks and Naomi walking out on WWE. The two have not appeared on WWE TV since May and there is no word on when the two might be returning. Now though, we have an update on one of them that suggests that she will not be back at all. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Pair Em Up: 74 Year Old WWE Legend Offers To Mentor SmackDown Star Earlier this week, a report emerged that Banks would be appearing at New Japan Pro Wrestling’s Wrestle Kingdom 17 next month. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, outside of a last minute change, Banks is considered “done” with WWE. The two sides are said to be very far apart on money and Banks’ current contract is expected to expire at the end of the year. Banks is not expected to wrestle at Wrestle Kingdom but she does have more dates set with the company for after the show. Banks is a star when she is in the ring. Check out what s..

Maybe Not? Conflicting Reports On Reason Behind Miro’s AEW Absence

He said something else. With such a large roster, a wrestler getting to appear on AEW television can be a special treat. There are several weeks where a wrestler might not get to appear, but if that happens too often, it can be come a problem in their career. That is becoming the situation for a certain AEW star, but it seems that there are differing opinions on why he has been missing. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Gold Day: Six New Champions Crowned Over Two Different Events Miro has only wrestled four times this year, with his most recent match taking place in September. Earlier this week a report from Fightful Select surfaced saying that Miro was ready to go but that AEW had nothing creatively for him. He is still expected to return soon and has been talking to AEW about ideas. Miro has been a force in AEW. Check out some of his moments th..

Pair Em Up: 74 Year Old WWE Legend Offers To Mentor SmackDown Star

•

Generations gap. There have been all kinds of stars throughout WWE’s history, though only a few of them have been able to become legends. Those stars are some of the most well remembered names in wrestling history and they will occasionally pop up here and there. Sometimes you will see them get together with a similar modern star and that is the idea that has been pitched again. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Gold Day: Six New Champions Crowned Over Two Different Events Over the last two weeks, vignettes have aired on SmackDown, showing Lacey Evans training with the United States Marine Corps. Evans, a former member of the Corps, has spoken about wanting to get back to basics. This led to a fan asking WWE Hall of Famer Sgt. Slaughter if he would train her. In response, Slaughter said that he would love to, but said that Evans would have to make it through Camp Slaughter. Evans then sent out a tweet of her own, asking where she reported in. There is nothing to suggest that WWE will be having ..

Ring Of Honor Final Battle 2022 Results

•

Final Battle 2022 Date: December 10, 2022 Location: College Park Center, Arlington, Texas Commentators: Ian Riccaboni, Caprice Coleman It’s the third or so Ring Of Honor event of the year, assuming you don’t count a good chunk of the Rampages from earlier this year. The main event of the show is (probably) Chris Jericho defending the Ring Of Honor World Title against Claudio Castagnoli, with a bonus feature of FTR vs. the Briscoes in a dog collar match for FTR’s Tag Team Titles. Let’s get to it. Zero Hour: Mascara Dorada vs. Jeff Cobb Dorada (better known as Gran Metalik) gets nowhere off a shoulder so a springboard flip is enough to put Cobb on the floor. The dive is pulled out of the air though and Cobb posts him hard to take over. Back in and Cobb stands on his back for a surfing pose, followed by a heck of a shot to the face for two. Cobb misses a charge into the corner though and Dorada sends him outside again, this time for the big flip dive. Back in again and a rope walk sent..

NXT Deadline Results

•

Deadline Date: December 10, 2022 Location: Capitol Wrestling Center, Orlando, Florida Commentators: Booker T., Vic Joseph What we have here is something of a concept show, as two of the five announced matches are Iron Survivor Challenges. Those are going to take up the better part of an hour between the two of them, even though they’re just #1 contenders matches. We also have a pair of title matches and a grudge match to give it that NXT feel though, so let’s get to it. The opening video is about the value of time, including in the Iron Survivor Challenges. Women’s Iron Survivor Challenge So we have five entrants and a twenty five minute time limit. Two people start things off and another enters every five minutes. You get a point for a fall (nothing to suggest you can lose points) and whomever you beat goes to a penalty box for a minute and a half. The most points in twenty five minutes wins and is the new #1 contender. Roxanne Perez is in at #1 and Zoey Stark is in at #2 and we h..

Gold Day: Six New Champions Crowned Over Two Different Events

Hand them over. Titles are one of the most important concepts in all of wrestling. They represent the best and often most talented stars in the promotion and are often the main focal points. It can mean a lot when a title changes hands and there are nights when several of them change hands during the same show. That was the case this weekend, with a special double shot. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Better Than Nothing? Tony Khan Announces Upcoming Weekly Ring Of Honor Series There were two major events held on Saturday, with Ring Of Honor Final Battle and NXT Deadline. Better Than Nothing? Tony Khan Announces Upcoming Weekly Ring Of Honor Series

It’s something. One of the more interesting wrestling stories of the year has been the roller coaster that is Ring Of Honor. After being shut down for several months to start the year, the promotion was purchased by AEW owner Tony Khan and somewhat relaunched on AEW television. However, Ring Of Honor did not have any kind of distribution of its own. Now things have changed in a big way. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: To The Other Side: Former NXT Champion Makes Surprise AEW Rampage Appearance During this weekend’s post Final Battle media scrum, Khan announced that Ring Of Honor will have its weekly television show on the HonorClub streaming service, which relaunched earlier this week. There is no specific date on when the show will launch, but Khan said an announcement was coming after the Los Angeles and Seattle shows. Awkward Confession: Sasha Banks Revealed Childhood Crush On Current SmackDown Star

•

That could make things awkward. Wrestling has changed quite a bit in the last few decades, as WWE has allowed wrestlers to stay in one place for a lot longer than they might have back in the territory days. That means wrestlers are going to be seen for a good while, which in this case led to a rather unique situation between two wrestlers, one of whom is a good bit older. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Double Trouble: Roman Reigns And Drew McIntyre Suffer Same Injury In Same Match According to the Sportster, Sasha Banks was interviewed by MTV’s Total Request Live in 2018 and revealed that when she was a child, she had a crush on SmackDown’s Sheamus. Sheamus is currently a SmackDown star while Banks has been absent from WWE since walking out on the company in May. This could have been an interesting pair. Ring Of Honor Final Battle 2022 Preview, Predictions And Thoughts

•

It’s time to wrap up the Ring Of Honor year with its third event, as Final Battle closes us out. As you might expect, this is mainly going to be about AEW stars as Ring Of Honor is less a promotion than a really big and loosely connected angle on AEW TV at the moment. We have a double main event of FTR defending the Tag Team Titles against the Briscoes in a double dog collar match, plus Claudio Castagnoli challenging Chris Jericho for the Ring Of honor World Title. Yeah that should work. Let’s get to it. Zero Hour: Jericho Appreciation Society vs. Shinobi Shadow Squad This is one of the several added matches to flesh out the card, or in this case the card that happens before the card. The Squad is one of those teams who pops up all the time in Ring Of Honor but rarely gets to do anything important. In other words, they are perfect to face a pair of goofs like Menard and Parker in a match with absolutely nothing at stake in a spot like this. In what is probably going to be a trend, I’..

REVIEW: ROH Best In The World 2018: They’re Not Far Off

•

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over ten years now and have reviewed over 5,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net, starting today. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be? Best in the World 2018 Date: June 29, 2018 Location: UMBC Event Center, Cantonsville, Maryland Commentators: Colt Cabana, Ian Riccaboni It’s pay per view time and even though I’ve already seen the next TV show, none of that matters as we have a few weeks to spare because of Ring of Honor’s wacky TV schedule. The main event here is a triple threat between World Champion Dalton Castle, Cody and Marty Scurll but the real highlight should be the Young Bucks challenging the Briscoes for the Tag Team Titles..

AEW Rampage Results – December 9, 2022

Rampage Date: December 9, 2022 Location: H-E-B Center, Cedar Park, Texas Commentators: Jim Ross, Excalibur, Tony Schiavone We are a day away from Ring Of Honor Final Battle and odds are we are going to be seeing some of the very last build to the show. Other than that we have what should be a heck of a match between Konosuke Takeshita vs. Jon Moxley and Orange Cassidy defending the All-Atlantic Title against a mystery challenger. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Jon Moxley vs. Konosuke Takeshita Moxley takes him down by the arm to start before it’s time to stand and trade chops. With that not working, Moxley bites Takeshita’s head in the corner and then chops some more. With Don Callis watching, Takeshita sends him outside and over the barricade as we take a break. Back with Moxley (bleeding) getting two off a piledriver but getting caught with a heck of a clothesline. Takeshita sends him to the apron, setting up a slingshot DDT for two back inside. Double Trouble: Roman Reigns And Drew McIntyre Suffer Same Injury In Same Match

Two at once? Injuries are one of the worst things that you can see in wrestling and sometimes they can show up out of nowhere. Occasionally you can see them take place and know right when it happened, but there are also instances where you only find out after the fact. Now two top WWE stars are both on the shelf for the time being with identical injuries that showed up in different ways. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: The New Generation: Former WWE Superstar Reveals Scrapped Plans For New League Of Nations According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, both Drew McIntyre and Roman Reigns suffered ruptured eardrums at Survivor Series. As a result, both are out of action for the time being, though both situations are described as “short-term”. McIntyre was medically disqualified from his scheduled Tag Team Title match with Sheamus against the Usos this week on SmackDown. Reigns on the other hand has not missed any scheduled matches due to his injury, which came due to a slap from Kevin Owens...

The New Generation: Former WWE Superstar Reveals Scrapped Plans For New League Of Nations

They had an idea. Stables are a concept that has worked in wrestling for decades and continues to do so to this day. It makes a lot of sense as well, as a stable allows several people with anywhere from identical to even somewhat related goals a chance to be on television together. WWE has used them for years, but there was one reincarnation that they passed on instead. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: VIDEO: Kurt Angle’s Huge Birthday Celebration Continues After SmackDown Ends Back in 2015, a group of international stars joined forces as the League Of Nations. During an appearance on the 10 Count podcast, former WWE Superstar Mojo Rawley revealed that WWE had considered relaunching the League Of Nations with Cesaro, Shinsuke Nakamura and himself. Rawley did not say when this would have taken place or how far along the plans went. Rawley’s role in the group..

NXT Deadline Preview, Predictions And Thoughts

•

It isn’t often that NXT tries something entirely new but that seems to be what we are getting here. The show has five matches and two of them are the first ever Iron Survivor Challenges (one each for the men and the women). That means the show is going to be built around those two matches and if they work, NXT should be doing just fine. Otherwise, it could be a long night. Let’s get to it. Alba Fyre vs. Isla Dawn So this is fire vs. magic? I’m sure there’s some gaming joke in there that I’m not smart enough to make but at least we’re getting some fresh blood featured here. Fyre is someone who feels like she should have been a bigger star a long time ago while Dawn is brand new and has already made something of an impact. This should be a good fight, though I’m not sure how it is going to go. I’ll take Dawn here, as she is brand new without a big win yet and Fyre seems to have the unfortunate label of being bulletproof. Fyre has all of the star power you could need but she needs to wi..
