Major Update on WWE Saudi Arabia Show, Multiple Title Matches

Just how long is this show? Earlier this month, a special show in Saudi Arabia was announced, featuring the largest Royal Rumble in history. With fifty wrestlers included in the match, this could be one of the biggest matches in a very long time. As it turns out though, there’s a lot more to the show than that. WWE has been to the country before: [This post contains video, click to play] As announced on WWE.com, the show will also feature seven championship matches, including both World Titles, both midcard Titles, the Cruiserweight Title and both Tag Team Titles. The Women’s Titles won’t be on the line due to cultural restrictions in the country. There is currently no official word on if the show will air on the WWE Network. How will it compare to this year’s Royal Rumble? Opinion: Sweet goodness I hope this makes the Network. That’s a top level card, though I’m a bit worried about the show lasting longer than a Wrestlemania. Unless the entrances for the Rumble are a minute ea..

Here Are the Top Ten Best Women’s Matches in WWE History

With ‘WrestleMania’ season in full swing, WWE.com is not slacking with their impressive list articles. The latest of these are the top ten best women’s matches in WWE history. Here they are! 10: 2018 Women’s Royal Rumble Match A woman in the Royal Rumble used to be a special attraction. Now it’s the main attraction. The maiden attempt at an all-female Rumble turned out to be both entertaining and profound, as the Superstars of today (Sasha Banks, Bayley, Becky Lynch), yesterday (Michelle McCool, Beth Phoenix, Molly Holly, Jacqueline) and tomorrow (Ember Moon, Kairi Sane) battled for a piece of history. The undefeated Asuka last eliminated Nikki Bella to win the match and set up a title bout against SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania. That the victor’s nickname is The Empress of Tomorrow is entirely fitting. If nothing else, the Women’s Royal Rumble was a proclamation that the future is now. — ANTHONY BENIGNO [This post contains video, click to play] 9: Alund..

Tyler Lemco’s High Risk Maneuver: The Shockmaster’s Debut 1993

In this episode of “High Risk Maneuver”, Tyler Lemco recounts one of the most infamous debuts in professional wrestling history, that of “The Shockmaster”. During a live segment hosted by Ric Flair at the Clash of the Champions XXIV, Sid Vicious and Harlem Heat confront Sting and Davey Boy Smith. They angrily demand to know the identity of the mystery partner who will replace an injured Road Warrior Hawk at Fall Brawl. Sting proclaims that “Our partner will shock the world because he is none other than The Shockmaster!” With a burst of pyrotechnics, Fred Ottman, sporting a glitter-encrusted Storm Trooper’s helmet, breaks through a wall and promptly stumbles and falls on his face. As the other wrestlers are heard laughing in the background, Ottman picks himself up, puts on his helmet and all attempt to save The Shockmaster’s irretrievably doomed debut. Who wouldn’t want to talk to a dead president? WWE has posted a new video to their YouTube channel, in which “Woken” Matt Hardy talks to the first President of the United States, George Washington. He has, however, taken the modern form of a giraffe his Hardy’s Personal Zoo. You can see the clip below: [This post contains video, click to play] Hardy is seeking counsel as he prepares for “The Ultimate Deletion” this coming Monday on “Raw.” In the video, after receiving advice from Mr. Washington, Hardy rewards him with a carrot or two. Editor’s Opinion: Have you had those moments in life where you simply say “you can’t make this stuff up?” This is not one of those moments. The “woken” character is so out there and so ridiculous, that it is absolutely brilliant. Video: Top Ten Funniest Moment in Wrestlemania History

Your individual mileage may vary. Comedy is certainly a subjective topic and it’s even worse in wrestling. [This post contains video, click to play] WWE has released a new Top Ten video list of the funniest moments in Wrestlemania history. This has a nice selection of options with a combination of promos, segments and mid-match moments. It also ranges back over thirty years, with the oldest going back to the late 1980s and getting closer to modern times by the end. Opinion: These are the kind of things where you really could pick from a huge number of options. There are so many moments over the years that can be considered funny, whether intentional or not. When these things are used in moderation and not used for the sake of adding in a celebrity cameo (such as the crab guy)with Mick Foley ..

Jarek 1:20: The Power of Magic Is Alive and Thriving in Michigan Native

Never did you expect to see the finesse of magic combined with wrestling in magic to thrive as it does in Michigan native Evan Cloyd, known to wrestling fans as Jarek 1:20. Here is the interview: Hey Jarek, we are glad to have you with us today. How old were you when you first started watching wrestling? What were a couple of your favorite memories or moments? I was 8 years old when I was playing soccer in my neighbor’s backyard on a chilly Michigan day. Our other friend was wearing a bright orange ski mask, when my buddy, Corey said, “Oh you look like Rey Mysterio!” I asked who that was, they told me about wrestling – and that night Nitro and RAW were on, I turned on WCW an..

Classic Match: Eddie Guerrero vs. Kurt Angle From “Wrestlemania XX”

Viva la mania. There are very few wrestlers who are pure naturals. They know how to talk, they know how to move in the ring and they know how to capture an audience’s imagination. If you can get two of them into the same match on the big stage, you’re in for a treat. That was the case at “Wrestlemania XX”. [This post contains video, click to play] WWE has posted the full version of Kurt Angle vs. Eddie Guerrero from “Wrestlemania XX” for Guerrero’s WWE Championship. The match was presented as a culture clash with Angle not wanting a former addict like Guerrero representing WWE as its champion. Guerrero promised to win and get high on the feeling of being WWE Champion. This was Guerrero’s first major feud as champion after winning the title from Brock Lesnar at “No Way Out 2004” about a month earlier. Check out a review of the full show here. Opinion: This was a great stretch of wrestling as Guerrero was having the run of his life and having the best matches of his career. You kn..

Slow down for a second! Earlier this year, WWE presented the longest match in company history with a nearly two hour long gauntlet match on an episode of “Monday Night Raw”. That’s one end of the spectrum, but what about the other end? Say on the Wrestlemania stage? It’s a short list. [This post contains video, click to play] WWE has released a new List This of the five fastest matches in “Wrestlemania” history. The five matches come from around the history of the show with some ranging all the way back from the early days of the show and all the way down into the newer editions. More than one of them are less than ten seconds and multiple title changes are included in the list. Opinion: These are always fun and they manage to energize the crowd every single time. They can even advance a variety of stories, mainly including the Daniel Bryan loss to Sheamus. That loss set up a lot of his rise to the top of the promotion, which you likely wouldn’t have seen coming when he lost tha..

Below are some questions, along with “the hugger’s” answers: And what about the Royal Rumble – being behind the curtain, and hearing the countdown, the “5, 4, 3, 2, 1…” before you go out to the ring? Bayley: “Every time somebody went out I had goosebumps. Every single time the crowd was counting. That’s almost everybody’s favorite memory about watching the WWE is the Royal Rumble, and being able to be a part of the countdown when you’re live in the crowd, and just seeing who comes out next – it doesn’t matter who it is – everybody is just excited. So, going down there myself and then Trish Stratus coming out right after me and hearing the crowd when her music hit, and when her and Mickie James were face to face – to be in the ri..
