Video: Top Ten Classic Champion vs. Champion Matches

•

Best of both worlds. Later this month, WWE will present its annual Survivor Series event, featuring a series of champion vs. champion matches. While no titles are likely to be on the line, a lot of these matches might seem like they’re not as important as others. That hasn’t always been the case though, as some champion vs. champion matches have been huge. Cue the retrospective music. Double up. [This post contains video, click to play] WWE has released a new Top Ten list looking at Classic Champion vs. Champion matches in company history. Most of them are from more modern times though at least one is from older days. This is the second such list that WWE has put out recently, following a Top Five video posted on its Instagram page. The top three are the same and the other two are also included, but the Top Ten video has some extras in between. Opinion: These things are often a lot of fun, but it helps when both titles are on the line. Otherwise, what’s the point in fighting? Brag..

Opinion: Vince McMahon Doesn’t Believe Anyone On Raw Can Be The Face Of The Brand

•

Last Friday at the Crown Jewel pay-per-view, history was made as Brock Lesnar once again captured the Universal Championship. This was after the unfortunate and tragic news that Roman Reigns had to surrender the championship, due to the return of leukemia that was put into remission over 10 years ago. However, Lesnar didn’t just defeat Strowman; he basically squashed him. After acting General Manager Baron Corbin blasted Strowman in the back of the head with the title, The Beast would proceed to give The Monster four F-5s to secure the title. Naturally, the internet did not respond kindly to this and couldn’t believe that Vince McMahon would once again put the title back on a part-timer, which has been the case for the almost year-and-a-half that Lesnar has been champion. As much as it pains me to say it, I actually agree with everyone this time. And this agreement has led me to one conclusion: In my opinion, Vince McMahon doesn’t believe that any superstar on Raw is capable of bei..

Why Did Madison Rayne Not Sign With WWE?

•

Current ROH superstar Madison Rayne was recently interviewed by the CBS affiliate in Pittsburgh, to promote a live taping that was taking place. She discussed a number of topics, including her decision to go to ROH, her dream opponent, not signing with WWE after the Mae Young Classic and more. Below are some questions along with Rayne’s answers: Let’s talk about you and Ring of Honor. You announced in September that you had signed a one-year deal with the company. What attracted you to go there? It was a long and unexpectedly exciting year for me. 2018 has been really good to me, and it’s allowed me the freedom to go a lot of places and see a lot of rocker rooms and be part of huge, monumental things like Mae Young Classic and like All-In. I was able to spend some time at Ring of Honor and spend some time back in the Impact locker room. That was awesome, and for a while, I thought, well, maybe in 2018, this is the culture of professional wrestling, and I don’t need to have one home ..

Main Event Results – November 1, 2018

•

Main Event Date: November 1, 2018 Location: Spectrum Center, Charlotte, North Carolina Commentators: Vic Joseph, Nigel McGuinness, Percy Watson It’s the final show before Crown Jewel, meaning it’s going to be a lot of focus on that show, again without saying where it actually takes place. In addition to all that though, it would be nice if we could have something fresh for the original content, which has been the case around here lately. That’s a nice way to help the show going forward and hopefully it happens again here. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Titus O’Neil vs. Mojo Rawley They go straight to the power lockup to start with neither being able to get anywhere. Some right hands sends Mojo bailing to the floor and a dog bark fills in the time. Back in and Mojo gets in a shot out of the corner, followed by a hard clothesline. The chinlock goes on, and then the chinlock goes on again to keep things fresh. Titus fights up and drives him into the corner for a splash. Mojo is rig..

WWE Looks At The Top Five Survivor Series Teams

The old days of awesome. Later this month, WWE will present its annual Survivor Series event. This show is the second longest running in the history of WWE and that means there are quite a lot of teams from the show’s namesake match. The list ranges from near the beginning of the series to modern times, with a wide mixture of teams. Triple H’s Injury May Have Shelved A Major WrestleMania 35 Match

•

Game off. Last month at SmackDown 1000, Evolution made their first appearance together in a good many years. The segment was mainly focused on Batista, who has become a star in Hollywood since his time in wrestling ended. During the reunion, Batista mentioned that Triple H had never beaten him. This seemed to be setting something up, but then things changed a bit in November. According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, the proposed match between Batista and Triple H, which may have headlined WrestleMania 35, is now unlikely to take place due to Triple H’s torn pectoral muscle. WrestleMania 35 is just over five months away and it is unlikely that Triple H will be healthy by then. Prior to the injury, there were also rumors that the match wouldn’t be taking place until SmackDown Live moves to FOX on October 19, 2018. These sound like wrestling words. Injury Updates On Shawn Michaels And The Miz

•

Anyone for an injury? On Friday, WWE presented Crown Jewel, which was quite the packed show. The show included a variety of matches with some impressive performances, including from some people having multiple matches in one night and someone having their first match in over eight years. Both of them were a little banged up during the show, but how bad was it? According to Ringsidenews.com, both Shawn Michaels and the Miz are find after Crown Jewel. Miz’s knee injury prior to the finals of the World Cup of Wrestling finals wasn’t a real injury in the first place. Michaels had a cut over his eye and a bloody nose but nothing serious. There is no reason to believe that Miz will miss any ring time, unless it is due to storyline reasons. Michaels was fine enough for a chat after the match. [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: It’s good that neither is injured as you never can tell what is going to happen when you get in the ring. Video: Shawn Michaels On If He’ll Wrestle Again

One more all over again? Yesterday at Crown Jewel, Shawn Michaels made his long awaited return to the ring. Michaels looked perfectly fine in the ring and even had flashes of some of his previous brilliance. Considering he hadn’t had a match in eight years, the performance was all the more impressive. So now comes the most obvious question: will he get back in the ring again? In a new video posted to WWE’s YouTube page, Michaels talked about what he’s going to be doing now that his match is over. Michaels talked about being sore from the match with pains that remind him why he doesn’t do this anymore, but also that he had a good time while he was in the ring. With the match out of the way though, he said that he was returning to his regular life and not going to do it again “if he can help it”. Update On Main Roster Stars Heading Down To NXT

Welcome home. NXT is viewed as college for a lot of wrestlers. The wrestlers get to spend at least a year down there and learn how to be ready for the main roster, but at the same time their runs down there has to end. They have to go up to the main roster (or get released) at some point and that can lead to mixed results. However, something might have changed now and it’s a good thing. Rumor: WWE Bringing Major WCW Event To WWE Network?

•

Well it’s a better name. You’re familiar with WrestleMania right? You know, biggest show of the year, most important wrestling event ever and that show that sells out a 70,000 person stadium every year? It’s true that it’s a big deal, but it’s far from the first annual supershow in wrestling history. That would be Starrcade, which debuted in 1983 and ran annually until 2000. WWE brought it back last year and now they might be doing even more with it. Starrcade is returning again this year with the event taking place on November 24 at the US Bank Arena in Cincinnati, Ohio. Bringing the show back wasn’t the big story, but according to PW Insider Elite by way of Ringsidenews.com, there is a reason to believe that this year’s Starrcade will be airing on the WWE Network, mainly due to the increased prices of the show. Here is the theory behind the idea: “I also asked if Starrcade would be airing on the WWE Network on November 26th and my gut feeling is that maybe it will. Because the prim..

What Is The Relationship Between Andrade Cien Almas And Zelina Vega?

Sometimes it just clicks. Earlier this year, Andrade Cien Almas and Zelina Vega were called up to the main roster after a very successful run in NXT. The two instantly clicked and have become a big time deal on SmackDown Live. They work very well together and know how to compliment each others’ talents very well. Of course that brings up a certain question from fans and Vega has answered it pretty plainly. Vega recently appeared on Lilian Garcia’s Chasing the Glory podcast to discuss a variety of topics, mainly focusing on her current partnership with Almas. During the interview she dispelled the rumor that the two of them are dating, saying instead that it’s more like the two of them are brother and sister who work very well together. Here’s what she said on it, with transcription courtesy of Wrestlinginc.com: “Once I got there Andrade ‘Cien’ Almas and I just clicked. I feel like now – it’s funny because people are like, oh my God, they are together – he is like my brother. We fight..

Alexa Bliss Injured, What Is Her Mixed Match Challenge Status?

Hopefully it’s little instead of big. Earlier this year, the first season of Mixed Match Challenge featured a variety of teams being thrown together to compete in a tournament. One of the most successful was Alexa Bliss and Braun Strowman, who turned out to have some outstanding chemistry. It was a no brainer to bring them back for the second season, though there is a bit of a hiccup. As announced on WWE’s YouTube channel, Bliss has suffered an arm injury and won’t be able to participate in this week’s Mixed Match Challenge debut. Bliss was scheduled to team with Strowman to face Kevin Owens and Natalya but Ember Moon has been chosen to replace her. That’s Certainly An Interesting Choice. WWE Ranks Top Five Hell In A Cell Matches

•

Count em, count em, count em down. Hell in a Cell is one of the top gimmick matches that WWE has to offer. It’s not the hardest concept in the world to grasp either: take a feud that has gone on for a long time and put them inside a big steel box until one of them can’t keep going. While the matches might not have the same impact that they’ve had in the past, there is a lot of history to go through here and that’s what WWE is doing today. In a new post to their Instagram account, WWE has ranked the top five Hell in a Cell matches in history. The matches are mostly from the earlier days of the Cell’s history but there is one from modern times. As of last night’s show, the match has been used forty times in history with the first version of the match coming on October 5, 1997 at Badd Blood with Undertaker vs. Shawn Michaels. Video: Top Ten Trapped Superstars Getting Smashed

•

Somebody get me out of here! Every now and then, the Superstars and the wrestling ring just aren’t enough to settle a score. Sometimes you need something a little more to put someone down and if that’s the case, you might need a few more pieces to work with in a match. That might involve locking someone down in one place, and if that’s the case, someone might take it a bit further. Roll the countdown! I think they broke him. [This post contains video, click to play] WWE has released a new Top Ten video looking at Trapped Superstars Getting Smashed. The idea here is exactly what it sounds like: wrestlers trapped in one way or another being crushed or attacked by something else. The list spans a very long stretch of time, with some instances from the 1990s and some going all the way to modern times with one entry from earlier this year. Opinion: This is the kind of thing that can mean a lot more for advancing an angle as there’s only so much you can do in a regular match. Sometimes ..

Video: Fans Furious At The End Of Hell In A Cell

I mean, can you blame them? The ending of last night’s Hell In A Cell pay per view saw Brock Lesnar make a surprise return to attack Braun Strowman and Universal Champion Roman Reigns. The result of the attack was the match being turned into a no contest, which isn’t something that often happens inside the Cell. As you might expect, the fans weren’t exactly pleased. And of course, there’s video. [This post contains video, click to play] A new video has surfaced showing the fans’ reaction after the show went off the air. The fans, at least the ones in the section filmed, loudly chanting “BULL****” in relation to the ending of the show. The pay per view ended almost immediately after the main event was over and there is a possibility that the show ended before such a chant could be heard on the WWE Network feed. Opinion: I can’t say I disagree. WWE can’t push this concept of the Cell being the ultimate nightmare and then have the match end in a no contest because the two of them can..
