NXT May Have Suffered Another Coronavirus Outbreak

•

This is what can happen. The Coronavirus pandemic has been going on for over a year now and while things are getting a bit better, there are still a lot of problems that need to be addressed. The chance of getting sick is still certainly out there and can change a situation at a moment’s notice. Unfortunately that might be the case with one of the bigger wrestling series going today. Despite the Coronavirus outbreak, WWE has managed to keep its television going. Things have bot been exactly the same throughout the last year but the shows have been airing and for the most part, you might not notice the difference. This has been the case for Monday Night Raw, SmackDown and NXT, but now one of them might behaving another problem. According to Fightful Select, this week’s edition of NXT will be undergoing a number of changes. While not confirmed, there is a chance that this is due to a new Coronavirus outbreak. Various wrestlers are currently quarantined and it is not clear who will be a..

Major Update On NXT Possibly Moving To Tuesdays

•

Warm up the moving van? The Wednesday Night Wars have been one of the more interesting wrestling stories over the last year and a half and that is hardly a surprise. The battle between NXT and AEW Dynamite has given fans a miniature version of the drama of the Monday Night Wars, though this one has been a bit more one sided. Things are still changing and now it might be the big finale. One of the problems with the Wednesday Night Wars is having a pair of two hour shows taking place on the same night at the same time. It can make for a very long night and that is going to take away some of the impact a fan can have from watching the second show. It makes sense for one company to want to counter the other, but that may no longer be the case. According to PWInsider, NXT is still scheduled to move to Tuesday nights starting on April 13. This comes after the NHL and NBC Sports had come to an impasse regarding negotiations on a television rights package. However, the move is taking place a..

Impact Wrestling Results – March 9, 2021

•

Impact Wrestling Date: March 9, 2021 Location: Skyway Studios, Nashville, Tennessee Commentators: D’Lo Brown, Matt Striker It’s the go home show for Sacrifice which is one of the rather big pit stops on the way to Rebellion in April. I’m curious to see how they are going to set things up on the way there, as the card is all but set up. You can always use a little bit of an extra push though and that is what we should be in for here. Let’s get to it. Opening recap. Opening sequence. Tasha Steelz vs. Jazz Kiera Hogan and Jordynne Grace are here too. Steelz talks a lot of trash to start and Jazz doesn’t seem interested in hearing it. Jazz sends her outside without much effort but Steelz is back in with a headlock takeover. That’s reversed into a headscissors, with Steelz escaping and talking more trash. They stay on the mat with the reversals until Steelz has to bail to the rope to get out of a modified Boston crab. A neckbreaker out of the corner gets two on Jazz and Steelz slaps on..

Bad Bunny Wins 2021 Grammy Award For Best Latin Pop Album

•

He’s as bad as they come. Last night at the 2021 Grammy Awards, Bad Bunny won a Grammy award in the Best Latin Pop or Urban Album category, for his album “YHLQMDLG.” This was the first win of his career. You can see him accepting his award below: [This post contains video, click to play] Earlier in the evening, he performed “Dákiti” with Jhay Cortez. Bad Bunny is the current WWE 24/7 Champion and has had quite a month. In addition to the above awards, he also had the opportunity to perform on Saturday Night Live, with the title on screen. He is currently allied with Damian Priest on Raw and is rumored to be wrestling at Wrestlemania 37 against The Miz and John Morrison. Editor’s Opinion: Man, he missed a golden opportunity to demonstrate the championship belt at the Grammy Awards! That would have been amazing; however, it would have been even more amazing if R-Truth pinned him for the title during his acceptance speech. In all seriousness, this is a tremendous honor for Bad Bunn..

205 Live Results – March 12, 2021

•

205 Live Date: March 12, 2021 Location: Capitol Wrestling Center, Winter Park, Florida Commentators: Nigel McGuinness, Vic Joseph For once we’re coming off of a pretty strong show as last week saw good stuff in both of the show’s matches. The talent is there, but it is all about finding an interesting way to present it. This show has had a serious problem figuring it out along the way but hopefully they can start going in the right direction again. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Bollywood Boyz vs. Curt Stallion/Mansoor Ever-Rise joins commentary for a bonus. Commentary mentions Mansoor being undefeated during his entrance as it seems to be a thing. Mansoor wristlocks Sunil to start but gets reversed into a headlock for his efforts. Samir comes in and it’s a pair of leapfrogs into a double back elbow for two on Mansoor. Some double dropkicks take the Boyz down but it’s too early for the hot tag. A double suplex gets two on Mansoor and we hit the chinlock. Sunil holds Mansoor’s l..

THIS Has Vince McMahon Angry At WWE Wrestlers And Employees

•

Can you blame him? Like him or not, there is no one in wrestling history bigger or more powerful than Vince McMahon. He has been in charge of the most important wrestling company in the world for decades and has been over the entire industry for a long time now. That is the kind of influence that can get him almost anything he wants, and now there is something that has made him mad. The Coronavirus has changed the way the wrestling world works in a completely horrible way. In addition to all of the business issues regarding fans, there have been the issues involving keeping the wrestlers safe. At the end of the day, the virus is still a deadly disease and something that people are going to want to fight. There are ways to do that, but not everyone in WWE is following them. Now that is not going well with the boss. According to Fightful Select, McMahon is angry with wrestlers and backstage staff not following Coronavirus protocols. While no names were specified, McMahon has been sendi..

Paul Heyman Says Injured WWE Star Available

•

Here he comes to save the day? Any wrestler can be taken down by an injury at any given time. That is bad enough in the first place, but it is a much bigger problem when someone is gone for a long time. Some injuries are a lot worse than others, as you might not see an injured wrestler for a long time. That was the case last year, and only now is he ready to make a return. Last year at WrestleMania 36, Jimmy Uso took part in a triple threat ladder match for the SmackDown Tag Team Titles. Unfortunately he was injured in the match and has not wrestled since, despite the injury taking place nearly a year ago. That is a ridiculous amount of time to be out of action, but now we might be seeing him again sooner rather than later. This week on Talking Smack, Paul Heyman suggested that Uso was ready to return to the ring. Heyman talked about how Jey Uso had become an attacker for hire for Roman Reigns. While speaking to Big E., Heyman said that there was more than one Uso available for such ..

WWE Has Lofty Plans For WrestleMania 37

•

That’s a lot of people. Live fans are one of the most important things to have at a wrestling show. The more people around, the more energy the wrestlers can feed off of and also the more instant feedback they can get. Fans are not required, but they can certainly help a lot. They have been missing for a long time now, but that is about to change and in a good way. The Coronavirus has changed the way wrestling works, with the biggest change being the lack of fans in attendance. WWE has not had any significant number of fans in person for a show in over a year now but that is about to change. WrestleMania 37 is going to feature fans in attendance, and now we know just how big of a deal it could be for both the show and the company. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter and Jon Alba of Spectrum Sports 360, WWE is hoping to have 45,000 fans in attendance on both nights of WrestleMania 37. This would be by far the highest attendance for a sporting event since the Coronavirus beg..

Multiple Title Changes Take Place Over The Weekend

•

History has been made! Titles are one of the easiest ways in the world to advance a wrestling storyline. It works so easily because anyone, whether they are a long term fan or not, can understand what is going on: someone is the best and someone else wants to do become the new champion to prove that they are the best. The title match is on and everything should work. A title change can be very interesting for a company and we had two of them in one night. Impact Wrestling has been in a weird place over the last few months as they brought in a variety of stars who had been released from WWE and then kind of fell off for a bit. They were revitalized by AEW showing up and bringing in some of their stars. New Japan has done the same and now some of those wrestlers are making quite the impact (pun intended) on the promotion. Two title changes took place during Saturday night’s Sacrifice special on Impact Plus. First, Ace Austin defeated TJP to become the X-Division Champion for the second..

WHAT? WWE Announces Special Steve Austin Week

•

I’d say he’s earned it. The WWE Network has done some great things for wrestling history as fans are now able to see all kinds of wrestling that they might have never seen before. This includes both the wrestling itself but also WWE’s rather impressive documentaries about various things that have taken place before. There will be several of them coming this week and they will have a theme. There are starts in the wrestling world and then there is Steve Austin. In the history of wrestling, there are very few wrestlers anywhere close to Austin’s level and there may be no one bigger than him, at least in the modern era. Austin changed the way the wrestling world works and will be remembered for a long time to come. WWE is making sure that is the case. WWE has announced Stone Cold Steve Austin Week starting on March 16, known as Steve Austin Day. There will be four specials on the WWE Network and Peacock on Austin, including two documentaries, a special collection of Austin’s best matche..

Pen To Paper: WWE Signs To New International Stars

•

You have to keep things fresh. Wrestling is like almost any other sport, as there are different styles in different parts of the world. That can make for some interesting matches when you put those styles against each other, which is where a promotion can have some fun. It makes sense to sign wrestlers from various places and now WWE is trying to do just that. WWE is the biggest and most international wrestling promotion in the world, with fans from dozens of countries. As a result, it makes sense to have wrestlers from various countries from outside of the United States as well, which is something WWE has done fairly well over the years. That is the case again, as they have signed two more international stars to the company. According to PWInsider.com, WWE has signed two Australian wrestlers to the company. First is Matty Wahlberg, who debuted in 2017 and was trained by Madison Eagles and Robbie Eagles. The second is Steph De Lander, who also debuted in 2017. She received a tryout a..

VIDEO: Rap Song Dedicated To Charlotte

•

I would say she has earned it. The Women’s Revolution is almost six years old now and that means the original generation of stars has come a long way. All three of the stars who made their debut on that night have become stars in their own right and that has been great news for WWE. You could argue which has been the best, but only one stands alone when it comes to accomplishments. While you can argue over how much she has been pushed, there is no denying that Charlotte has been incredibly successful in WWE. She has won more titles than she knows what to do with, won the Royal Rumble and has headlined WrestleMania. That leaves her without many more things to do in WWE, but someone from outside the company has given her a new accomplishment. This will get some attention. Check out a special tribute to Charlotte: [This post contains video, click to play] Rappers Monteasy and Jon Connor have released a new song about Charlotte called Second Nature. Update On WWE’s Hall Of Fame Plans For This Year

•

It’s a different way of doing it. We are on the Road To WrestleMania and while that means that we are coming up on one of the biggest shows of the year, it also means that we are coming up on Wrestlemania weekend. WWE takes over a number of days, offering a variety of material over the course of most of a week. One such thing that was missing last year is coming back, though in a different format. There are a lot of championships in WWE but those are titles that are going to come and go with a single reign. A wrestler can get their title back but at some point they are going to lose it again. There are very few things that the company can offer that will stay around forever but the Hall Of Fame is one of them. There was a class last year, though it was never inducted. It seems that there will be one this year as well, and now we know how things will be going. According to Fightful Select, this year’s WWE Hall Of Fame ceremony will be taped in advance rather than airing live. The cere..

WWE Had An International Pay Per View Planned For 2020

•

What could have been. The Coronavirus has changed the way the wrestling world works and that has become more and more obvious every single day. Every wrestling company has had to change its plans but most of the bigger ones have managed to survive in one way or another. WWE has been the same, but now we know what might have been had things not changed. An athlete from another sport coming into the wrestling world can be one of the most interesting things you see from any given promotion. It is a very simple concept of seeing what another sport can do in wrestling and it has had some success over the years. WWE has capitalized on the idea before and will continue to do so in the future, but they had to cancel some huge plans from last year. In a new interview with Behind The Gloves, world heavyweight boxing champion Tyson Fury revealed that he was planned to wrestle on three WWE shows in 2020. Fury revealed that he was scheduled to appear at WrestleMania 36, Summerslam and at an unnam..

More On Andrade Requesting WWE Release

•

They do have a point. WWE may not be the most well liked wrestling promotion in the world but they are the biggest and most powerful. They are also on the biggest platform and are going to have more eyes on them than anyone else. That allows them quite a bit of leverage and odds are that will be the case for a long time to come. As a result, they are not going to want their stars going elsewhere and that is on display again. One of the more interesting stories over the last week has been Andrade attempting to secure his release from WWE. After not wrestling on television for several months, Andrade is trying to get out of his contract with the company. Despite being rather talented, Andrade has not been used in a very long time and understandably wants out. WWE has said no and now we know a bit more about why. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, WWE is turning down Andrade’s request for a release as they do not want him, or anyone else for that matter, to go to AEW. While there ar..

You In? WrestleMania Status For Three Legends

•

They will be missed. WrestleMania is the biggest and more important show in the wrestling world and has been for a very long time now. The show usually draws the biggest audience of the year and the things that happen there change the way WWE works for a long time to come. There is very little close to its league and a lot of that comes from its star power. It seems that this year’s show might be missing some of that though. WrestleMania 36 was a unique show as it was held over the course of two nights instead of one and had no fans in attendance. These changes took place due to the Coronavirus pandemic and since the pandemic is not over, WrestleMania 37 will be affected as well. The show will again be held over two nights but this time around there will be fans in attendance. However, they will not have some people to watch. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, Brock Lesnar, Goldberg and Undertaker are not expected to appear at WrestleMania 37 next month. Lesnar is currently not u..

VIDEO: Injured SmackDown Star Teases WWE Return

•

Change it up? There are some very talented wrestlers in the world today but at some point they are going to get stale. Through no fault of their own, eventually a wrestler is going to become too familiar to the audience and need something new to spice things up again. The talent is there but it needs a different presentation. We may be about to see that on SmackDown. There is something special about masked wrestlers. Not only do the masks often look great, but they offer a unique aura to the person wearing them. In some cases they make the wrestlers feel like a superhero, which can be a great way to make a wrestler seem more important. This is even more true in the case of a smaller wrestler, but now things might be changing for one of them. This is certainly different. Check out what a masked wrestler might be doing: [This post contains video, click to play] SmackDown star Kalisto has posted a new video to Twitter with his mask off, though his back is to the camera. WATCH: Edge vs. The Undertaker From WrestleMania XXIV (24)

The dead shall rise again. WWE has posted a new video to its YouTube channel in which they show the full match between Edge and The Undertaker for the World Heavyweight Championship from WrestleMania XXIV (24). You can see the video in its entirety below: [This post contains video, click to play] From WWE.com: During the contest, The Phenom delivered a relentless torrent of his signature moves, weakening his resistant rival. Edge, too, retaliated with just about every vicious hold and attack he could possibly muster. Clearly well-schooled and self-educated in the challenger’s stratagem, the Rated-R Superstar reversed key maneuvers and even kicked out of several pinfall attempts after Undertaker landed a number of typically deal-closing moves — including the Last Ride and even the Tombstone Piledriver. Following critical shifts in momentum and an attempt at his own Tombstone, the defending World Champion found some support from his Rated-R entourage. The Deadman managed to lay was..
