The Sequel: Main Event Set For WrestleMania: Backlash

We’re going there again. We are fresh off the heels of WrestleMania 37 and that means it is time to start things all over again in what is basically the new WWE season. This includes setting up new stories and feuds as things get started up again. We are also on the way to the followup pay per view, which has a lot of work to do. However, we now seem to have one of the main events. One of the biggest matches at WrestleMania 37 was the opening match for the first night, as WWE Champion Bobby Lashley defended his title against Drew McIntyre. This was McIntyre’s return match after having the title taken from him at Elimination Chamber thanks to an attack by Lashley. McIntyre wanted another title shot, which already seems to be covered. With Lashley now a bit more established as champion, it means that he is going to be needing some new challengers. Now that WrestleMania is out of the way, WWE can start moving him towards one of those new challengers, which is what they tried to do this ..

Matt and Jeff Hardy’s Father Passes Away

We have some sad news to report, as Claude Gilbert Hardy, father of Matt and Jeff Hardy, passed away last week at the age of 87. Matt took to Instagram to write a tribute in honor of his late father. An excerpt of that is below: Our Dad started out as our biggest critic when we first wanted to chase the dream of being pro wrestlers. After a few years of struggling & then finding success in the WWE, our Dad became our biggest fan. He was so proud to be “The Hardy Boyz Daddy” & recorded every match of ours on his VCR. Our Dad was a favorite of Hardy fans, even earning the nickname of “The Legend.” Jeff & I feel so blessed to have had our Dad live to be 87 years old. He got to see his children live out their dreams & give him many grandchildren to continue the Hardy name & bloodline. Early Tuesday morning, April 6th, our Dad passed away. Jeff & I were with him at home & by his bedside when he took his final breath. My brother Jeff was our Dad’s guardian angel the last couple of years...

Former Champions Make Surprise Return On Monday Night Raw

Welcome back. Injuries can be one of the worst things possible in wrestling as anyone can be taken out of the ring at any given time. Some injuries are worse than others but anything that puts someone on the shelf for any amount of time is a bad thing. Sometimes you see someone go on the shelf for a long time but most of the time, someone gets to come back. That was the case this week on Monday Night Raw. The Monday Night Raw after WrestleMania is quite possibly the biggest show of the year. The event is knock for having all kinds of surprises, returns, debuts and major angles taking place all throughout the night. It makes for some very cool moments as you never know what is going to happen or what you might be seeing. That was the case again with a rather nice return. Ivar of the Viking Raiders made his return during this week’s Monday Night Raw, teaming with Erik to defeat Cedric Alexander and Shelton Benjamin in a tag match. This was Ivar’s first match since the September 7, 2020..

Monday Night Raw Live Coverage And Results – April 12, 2021

Monday Night Raw Date: April 12, 2021 Location: Yuengling Center, Tampa, Florida Commentators: Adnan Virk, Corey Graves, Byron Saxton It’s the unofficial season premiere of Raw after the fairly awesome two night Wrestlemania. We’re in the new Thunderdome this week and that shouldn’t make much of a difference compared to the other ones. In theory this should be the big show with all kinds of things going on, but you never can tell these days. Let’s get to it. Bobby Lashley arrived earlier and Riddle immediately challenged him. Lashley doesn’t think so because Riddle lost to Sheamus last night. Riddle talks about wearing a tin foil hats because of aliens but Lashley turns him down again. That earns Lashley some quotes about how anyone can have a shot, so Lashley shoves him down and calls him a loser. The match seems to be on. Bobby Lashley vs. Riddle Non-title and MVP is here with Lashley. Riddle scooters to the ring so Lashley jumps him before the bell and the beatdown is on outside...

Three Title Changes Take Place At WrestleMania Night Two

Even more history has been made! Title matches and changes are among some of the most important and remembered moments in all of WrestleMania. The show has been around for the better part of forty years now and there have been dozens of title changes throughout its history. This year’s edition was another two night event, featuring even more title matches where titles changed hands. There were five title matches during the second night of WrestleMania 37 with three title changes. First up, Sheamus defeated Riddle to win the United States Title by hitting the Brogue Kick as Riddle was springboarding through the air. This marks Sheamus’ third reign as champion and his first reign since 2012. The win also ends Riddle’s first reign, which lasted 49 days. It was a repeat. Check out Sheamus regaining the title: [This post contains video, click to play] Second, Apollo Crews defeated Big E. to win the Intercontinental Title for the first time in his career. Crews’ victory ended Big E.’s s..

I Remember Him! Surprise Return Takes Place At WrestleMania

A surprise return. There is no show on the WWE calendar on the same level as WrestleMania. The show is the most important of the year and a special moment on the show can make or break someone’s career. More eyes are on the product during that one show than any other time of the year and every now and then you see a fresh face. That was the case this year. WWE is just starting to get back to normal after the Coronavirus pandemic but things are still not quite back to how they were before. The last year has seen some rather different ways of presenting the WWE product, including some ideas that did not exactly work. That was the case last fall, but now someone who came and went is back again in a very different role. Apollo Crews won the Intercontinental Title during the second night of WrestleMania 37 by defeating Big E. Crews won the match thanks to interference by an unnamed man who attacked Big E. to give Crews the pin. The man was formerly known as Dabba Kato and was part of Raw ..

VIDEO: Surprising Video From After WrestleMania Main Event

Can you blame her? There are certain moments in wrestling that you just know are special. It might be a great match, a great interview or a great segment, but when you see one of them, you know that you are seeing something that is going to be remembered for a long time. A lot of those moments come at WrestleMania, and that was the case again this weekend. The Women’s Revolution has changed the was wrestling world and that has been a very good thing. Nearly six years ago, a group of women came up from NXT and brought in a new generation of women’s wrestling, changing the way that everything worked. Women were suddenly being treated as something serious and it was a huge change of pace. There was still a long way to go, and one of those milestones was covered at WrestleMania 37. The main event of the first night of WrestleMania 37 featured SmackDown Women’s Champion Sasha Banks defending her title against Royal Rumble winner Bianca Belair. The match ended with Belair defeating Banks t..

Farewell? Long Time WWE Personality Possibly Gone

So long? Commentary is one of the most important parts of a wrestling show because it is there to point you in the right direction. Fans are going to react to things how they want to but a promotion can show them where the want them to go. A commentary team can do more than a few things and since WWE has multiple television shows a week, they have multiple teams to fill. One of their more prominent names might be gone for good. The WWE announce teams are some of the most well known voices in wrestling. Granted a lot of them tend to start merging together over time but you can often tell when someone from WWE is speaking. On rarer occasions, you can also tell when someone new comes in because their voice is completely different than anyone else’s. Now one of those voices is going away, and might be gone for good. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, Monday Night Raw lead broadcaster Tom Phillips may not be returning to WWE television. Phillips did not appear during either night of W..

Write It Down: Grudge Match Added To Fastlane Card

Add it to the card. We are less than six days away from Fastlane, though I’m not sure how much you would know that from watching WWE TV. The company has gone all out in building towards WrestleMania and seems to have completely forgotten that Fastlane is happening as well. They have to build something though and they worked on that during this week’s show. There are a lot of different ways to set up a feud in wrestling. Some of these are a bit more personal than others though and that opens up a series of doors of its own. With so many options available, it can be difficult to find the one that works best. Some of them are only going to leave some people scratching their heads though, and that might be the case with a new Fastlane match. This week on Monday Night Raw, a match between Braun Strowman and Shane McMahon was announced for Fastlane. The match was scheduled to take place during this week’s Monday Night Raw but a brawl took place before the match could start. McMahon has spe..

Title Change On Monday Night Raw, WrestleMania Match Set

Keep the gold coming. Winning a title in wrestling is impressive, but what is more impressive is winning a title even more. Some champions have held titles multiple times, with an even smaller number having an incredible number of reigns with a title. Occasionally it can almost go too high to mean anything anymore and we might be seeing that again. With less than thirty days to go before WrestleMania 37, it is time to get the card ready. Some of the matches have already been set but that still leaves a lot of work to do. There are a lot of title matches that need to be set up and even with another pay per view to go between now and WrestleMania, WWE is not wasting time. Another title match was announced on this week’s Monday Night Raw and it was done in a hurry. The New Day defeated the Hurt Business during this week’s Monday Night Raw to become the new Raw Tag Team Champions. Following the win, AJ Styles and Omos came to the ring, with Styles saying that he had never been a Tag Team..

Major Grudge Match Added To WWE Fastlane

The card grows. We are on the Road To WrestleMania but there is another spot to cover on the way there. That would be Fastlane, though WWE has not exactly gone out of its way to build up the card. With less than a week before the show, there was not a single Monday Night Raw match announced for the card. They helped fix that in a big way during this week’s show. One of the biggest feuds on Monday Night Raw at the moment has been the rivalry between Drew McIntyre and Sheamus. The two had been friends for twenty years but Sheamus turned on McIntyre for the chance to become WWE Champion again. This led to a pair of hard hitting, violent matches, the most recent of which ended in a draw. Now we have a chance to continue things. This week on Monday Night Raw, McIntyre mentioned that he was facing Sheamus at Fastlane. This will mark their third match in less than a month with McIntyre winning the first and the second going to a draw when the two of them hit each other in the face with the ..

BREAKING: WWE Title Match Set For WrestleMania 37

Well that was fast. We are less than a month away from WrestleMania 37, which is going to be one of the biggest weekends in a very long time. The show is taking place over the course of two straight nights for the second consecutive year and that means things are going to be even bigger than usual. WWE is going to need to do something big for the show and now we know something new. Earlier this month, Bobby Lashley became the new WWE Champion in a moment over fifteen years in the making. Lashley has been on an absolute roll in recent months and a title reign was long overdue. Part of the problem with having him be so dominant is that he is going to have some trouble finding an opponent. There are only a few challengers who make sense and now we know who is up next. This week on Monday Night Raw, former two time WWE Champion Drew McIntyre was announced as Lashley’s next challenge for the WWE Championship, with his title shot coming at WrestleMania 37. Lashley attacked McIntyre at Elim..

Monday Night Raw Live Coverage And Results – March 15, 2021

Monday Night Raw Date: March 15, 2021 Location: Tropicana Field, St. Petersburg, Florida Commentators: Tom Phillips, Samoa Joe, Byron Saxton It’s the go home show for Fastlane, which is such an important show that it doesn’t actually have any raw matches announced yet. Odds are that is fixed tonight, but it doesn’t hide the fact that even WWE doesn’t care about the thing. This should be an eventful one so let’s get to it. They don’t waste time by announcing Drew McIntyre vs. Bobby Lashley for the WWE Title at Wrestlemania. Here are Bobby Lashley and MVP for a chat to get things going. MVP says we are now in the Almighty Era and Lashley promises to destroy McIntyre at Wrestlemania. Lashley: “Right now are in the….Almighty Era.” And that’s why MVP handles most of the talking. Cue Miz and John Morrison with Miz praising Lashley’s speech and saying they are all in on the Almighty Era. They think Miz should be in the title match at Wrestlemania because Miz defended the title twice in one..

Lights, Camera: Charlotte Flair Starring In Remake Of Classic Film

It’s the next step. Wrestlers are in a weird situation when it comes to acting. When they are acting, they are called wrestlers and when they are wrestlers, they are said to be acting. That is not the easiest situation in the world to get out of but on occasion, they get the chance to branch out from just being in the ring. You have to start somewhere and now we know where that is going for one top WWE star. Following her debut in July 2015 as part of the Women’s Revolution, Charlotte Flair has been one of the most successful stars in WWE. She has managed to win everything there is to win in WWE and has headlined both the Royal Rumble and WrestleMania. This is a bit of a problem when you are only thirty four years old, meaning she needs a new challenge. Now we might know what that is. According to Deadline Hollywood, Flair is scheduled to star in a remake of Walking Tall. The film will air on the USA Network as a television film with the chance of it being used to launch a new series..
