VIDEO: WWE Shows Look At Its Amazing Charity Work

•

That’s worth bragging about. WWE may not be quite the force that it has been in the past, but it is still doing some things at a level that has not been seen before in wrestling. The company has grown to a level that no promotion could ever have imagined and brings in more money than they know what to do with at times. It seems that they are helping some others though and that is a good thing. WWE has released a new video called “Go Beyond The Ring”, which showcases some of the work the company has done with charity in recent years. This mainly includes WWE stars meeting with various children in places such as schools and hospitals. The theme of the video is that these are the actions that you do not see from WWE. This is the same video which also aired on SmackDown this week. This is pretty cool. Kane Was Almost The Big Green Machine

•

That was almost bad. A wrestler has to have the right look to make everything work right. If a wrestler does not have the right appearance or attire, something is always going to feel a little bit off about them. It is one of the most important parts of a wrestler’s career and there have been some instances of promotions completely missing the mark. That was nearly the case again with a wrestling legend. During a recent edition of his Pro Wrestling 4 Life podcast, Sean Waltman, better known as X-Pac, revealed that Kane almost wrestled in green attire. The different look would have been used during Kane’s team with X-Pac, but it never actually appeared on television. Waltman did not like the idea, as Kane was known as the Big Red Machine while also not being part of D-Generation X, whose signature color was green. Kane and X-Pac were a good team. Double Up: Professional Wrestler Sets National Records In Different Sport

•

It’s another kind of talent. Wrestlers are in a weird place as they do not receive the most credit for their athletic skills despite being incredible athletes in the first place. Sometimes you will see a wrestler get to showcase what they are capable of doing and it is absolutely fascinating. That was the case again this week, as a wrestler set a record in a completely different sport. Impact Wrestling’s Jordynne Grace sent out a series of tweets announcing that she competed in a Women’s National Powerlifting Federation event in Georgia. Grace set three state and national records in the squat, bench press and deadlift in the 165lb weight class while also being named Best Overall Lifter. Grace’s Impact Wrestling tag team partner Rachael Ellering was at the event as well, cheering for Grace and tweeting out pictures and updates. Grace made her wrestling debut in 2011 and has been with Impact Wrestling since 2018. She is a former Knockouts and Knockouts Tag Team Champion with Ellering a..

VIDEO: Margot Robbie Slept With A John Cena Cutout In Her Bedroom For A Year

•

That’s an interesting combination. John Cena made his long awaited return to the WWE last week at Money in the Bank. Cena’s return would seem to set up a huge match against Roman Reigns at Summerslam, which could even draw in some extra mainstream attention. With Cena now advancing his career in Hollywood, there are some newly opened doors waiting on him. One of those involves an odd connection to a well known actress. Cena appeared with Margot Robbie and James Gunn on Jimmy Kimmel Live to promote The Suicide Squad. During the interview, Robbie mentioned that she watched wrestling growing up and loved the Undertaker. Robbie also mentioned that she had a boyfriend who was obsessed with Cena, to the point of dressing up like Cena for his birthday. The boyfriend also had a cardboard cutout of Cena in his bedroom, which Robbie was scared to mention to Cena. She ultimately told him the story soon after meeting him. This is certainly a story. Several Names Missing From WWE Training Sessions, Who Was There

•

It’s not for them. WWE is finally back on the road and it is helping to energize the events quite a bit. There is something that you get with fans which cannot be replicated inside the Thunderdome and it is great to have them back. WWE knew that such changes would have to be coming and thankfully the shows have been pretty good so far. Some of this is due to extra preparation, but not every wrestler is involved. Over the last several weeks, WWE has held training sessions for its wrestlers at the Performance Center in Orlando, Florida. According to Fightful Select, while these sessions were originally thought to be mandatory, WWE has allowed wrestlers to miss them if they have a personal issue. As a result, various wrestlers did miss the sessions due to personal reasons. However, it is said that almost all of the women’s division was present for the sessions, including Sasha Banks. WWE wrestlers certainly do train. Check out some of their preparations: [This post contains video, clic..

REVIEW: Ring Of Honor Best In The World 2021: Maybe Not Best

•

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be? Ring of Honor has been one of the more consistently quality TV shows as of late and now they need to make that work on television as well. That might be easier said than done though so let’s get to it. It really is cool to see some fans back. Tracy Williams is out..

VIDEO: John Cena Wrestles After SmackDown

•

Welcome back! The biggest WWE story over the last week has been the return of John Cena. After over a year away from the company, Cena made his return at Money In The Bank to confront Roman Reigns, likely setting up a Summerslam match for Reigns’ Universal Title. That is the kind of thing WWE is going to take seriously, and that means they are going to put in the practice. Cena wrestled in a post show dark match following this week’s episode of SmackDown. After the show, Cena teamed with Rey Mysterio and Dominik Mysterio to face the Usos and Roman Reigns. There was no contact between Reigns and Cena during the match. Cena’s most recent televised match was the Firefly Fun House match at WrestleMania 36, and his most recent traditional televised match took place in January 2019. Cena looked good in his return. Ouch: AEW’s Britt Baker Confirms Severe Injury

•

Hopefully it isn’t too bad. There are some very talented wrestlers on the AEW roster but no matter how good they are, every single one of them can be slowed down by an injury. It can happen to any wrestler at any time and that can change plans in a hurry. Unfortunately that seems to be the case again after this week, but it might not be as bad as it could be this time around. AEW Women’s Champion Britt Baker has revealed that she broke her wrist during her successful title defense against Nyla Rose during this week’s Fyter Fest Night Two. Baker did not mention when the injury took place. There is no word on if Baker will miss any time as a result. Baker has suffered a string of injuries during her time in AEW, including a concussion in 2019 and a severe leg injury in 2020. One More: Another Important Name Gone From WWE

•

The shakeup continues. WWE has been changing things up in a big way both in front of and behind the camera. There has been one move after another and there is no way to guarantee that the changes are done. The changes to the active roster are the most notable as they are going to get more attention, but another big name is now gone from the company as well. According to PWInsider.com, WWE’s Senior Vice President of Talent Development Canyon Ceman has been released from the company. There is no word on why Ceman was released. This comes less than a month after Ceman had been inaccurately rumored to have been released from the company. Ceman has been with the company since 2012 and has helped evaluate talent for WWE. Update On Randy Orton Missing From WWE TV

•

Sometimes things just happen. With so many wrestlers on the WWE rosters, you are going to run into some strange situations from time to time. Some of these might be a little bit weirder than others but you also might not even know what is going on. That seems to be the case with one of the bigger names in WWE today and now it seems to have been taken a step further. According to Fightful Select, Monday Night Raw’s Randy Orton has been placed on the Disabled/Inactive list in WWE in recent weeks. However, there is no word on why that is the case. There is nothing to suggest that the two sides are having any kind of issues. It is not clear when Orton will be back, though he is hoped to be back on television by the August 2 Monday Night Raw. Orton has not wrestled since the June 12 edition of Monday Night Raw when he lost to John Morrison in a Money In The Bank qualifying match. Prior to his departure, Orton had been teaming with Riddle as part of RKBro. While Orton has been on the shelf..

VIDEO: WWE Confirms New Pay Per View With Some Special Details

Mark your calendars. WWE has been in the pay per view business for well over thirty years now and has the idea mostly down to a science. Every now and then you will see things changed up a bit, but it can be a little tricky depending on what adjustments might need to be made. WWE Executives Sell Off Some Stock For Serious Money

•

They made some money. While it might be easy to forget at times, WWE is ultimately a business, meaning the point is to make as much money as possible. If the company makes more money, the owners are happier with what is going on. That is the case both of the company as a whole and for its individual stockholders, some of whom have made a few moves of their own. According to Fightful.com, several WWE executives have sold varying amounts of stock in the company. There is no word on why they have done so and there is nothing to suggest that any of their WWE statuses will be changing whatsoever. The stocks were sold at a price of $48.68. WWE Interested In Bringing Back Former World Champion

•

Not so fast? The WWE roster looks quite different now than it did just a few months ago as WWE has shaken up all kinds of things. Multiple groups of wrestlers have been released over the course of the year and it can be interesting to see what they wind up doing. Even one of the wrestlers has already been brought back to the company in the form of Samoa Joe. Now he might be getting another name on the same list. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, there has been an interest in bringing Braun Strowman back to WWE following the string of AEW signings. Strowman was one of the names released from WWE on June 2. After the report came out, Strowman posted a message to Twitter, displaying some viewership numbers from WWE’s YouTube videos of himself. Expected Summerslam Main Event Takes Huge Twist

•

Looks like that’s next. We are less than a month away from Summerslam and that means it is time to start getting the card ready. You can probably guess more than a few of the matches from here, but there are still a few slots to fill. One such slot is the main event, which we seemed to have but something has now been changed. Someone else is getting their match, and it could be interesting. The main story coming into this week’s edition of SmackDown was John Cena’s appearance to challenge Roman Reigns to a Universal Title match at SmackDown. Cena did issue the challenge at the beginning of the show. Reigns appeared at the end, where he declined Cena’s challenge. Instead, Finn Balor appeared and challenged Reigns, though no date was given for a potential match. There is a history here. Smackdown Date: July 23, 2021 Location: Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse, Cleveland, Ohio/Rolling Loud Festival, Miami, Florida Commentators: Pat McAfee, Michael Cole We’re into the second week of having fans back and this time the big story is John Cena returning to Smackdown to see Roman Reigns. You can see Summerslam from here but we still need to make it official. Other than that, Carmella is getting another shot at Bianca Belair for no particular reason. Let’s get to it. We start fast this week with John Cena starting us off in a hurry. He talks about how hyped up the fans are here and knows that Roman Reigns is coming. There is some sports news coming out of Cleveland today, which is why he has changed his middle name to Guardians (as did Cleveland’s baseball team). He has to protect the little respect that WWE has left because Roman Reigns is terrible as Universal Champion. We’re back live and that means we are on the way to Summerslam, which is a place for the fans to show what the..

How Vince McMahon Reacted To A Horrible Match

•

He matters most. While he might not be around as often as he was before, there is no one more powerful in WWE than Vince McMahon. His opinion or thought on a wrestler, storyline, or pretty much anything in the company can determine its fate and that is often a powerful weapon. It can be both good and bad, though in one infamous occasion, it did not turn out well at all. Back on July 2, 2001, Monday Night Raw included a WCW World Title match with Booker T. defending against Buff Bagwell. The match was meant to kick off the new WCW but was so poorly received that it partially caused the plans to be canceled, setting up the InVasion storyline instead. It was an important night in WWE’s history, but what did McMahon think about what happened? Jim Ross discussed the match on his Grilling JR podcast, saying that McMahon was not happy with the result. The match resulted in a loss of fan interest and momentum for the story, as McMahon felt that Booker T. and Bagwell could have a good match t..

WWE RUMOR: Important Detail On Survivor Series

Kind of an important detail. As you have probably heard, WWE is back on the road for the first time in over fifteen months. That is a great change of pace for WWE and it is already feeling like something more important. WWE has needed to hit the ground running after their time in Florida and now they are going elsewhere. We might even know where one of their most important shows is going. According to Andrew Zarian of the Mat Men Wrestling Podcast, this year’s Survivor Series is expected to take place at the Barclay’s Center in New York City, New York. WWE has yet to announce the location of the show or any matches for the card. As previously reported, the Rock is rumored to be appearing at the event. VIDEO: Part Of SmackDown Set Collapsed Before This Week’s Show

•

That could have been worse. With the fans returning to WWE events, it is time for WWE to come up with something fresh to hook the viewers in. There are all kinds of ways to do this, but one of the most effective is to mix up the locations a bit. WWE is already taking the shows to venues outside of Florida, but now they are trying two at once. It just has a bit of a hiccup on the way. This week’s SmackDown will be split between the Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in Cleveland, Ohio and the Rolling Loud Festival in Miami, Florida. According to Local 10 (ABC Miami affiliate), a video screen being used for the festival collapsed on Thursday before the festival began. According to the Rolling Loud Twitter account, no one was hurt and the wall will be repaired before the start of the festival on Friday. SmackDown will feature an appearance by John Cena, who returned last Sunday at Money in the Bank and confronted Roman Reigns. Cena appeared on Monday Night Raw as well, promising to come see Rei..

RUMOR: Plans For The Rock To Make WWE Return This Year

That would be a big get. There are top names in wrestling history and then there is The Rock. Either one of these things is amazingly impressive but he managed to do them both at a relatively young age. Every now and then, Rock will return to wrestling and now we might know where he will be next. In addition, the Rock is expected to appear on WWE television shows leading up to the event. This will be the Rock’s first appearance on WWE programming since the September 4, 2019 SmackDown. The event will also mark twenty five years since the Rock’s WWE debut, which took place at Survivor Series 1996.
