WATCH: Two Titles Change Hands On WWE SmackDown

Two for one. Titles are about as simple of a concept as you are going to get in wrestling. Someone is wearing a belt and therefore they are (in theory at least) the best wrestler around. Someone else wants to take the title from them and a big match is set up as a result. That is how things have gone for but now we are seeing another way for titles to change hands. This week’s edition of WWE SmackDown ended with SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte and Raw Women’s Champion Charlotte swapping their titles. This was done as the two have both been drafted from one show to another, meaning that both titles were on the opposite show. The same solution was used to change the SmackDown and Raw Tag Team Titles between the New Day and the Street Profits last year. This was a bit strange. Rampage Date: October 22, 2021 Location: James L. Knight Center, Miami, Florida Commentators: Taz, Ricky Starks, Excalibur, Chris Jericho It’s tournament time as we get the first match in the World Title #1 contenders tournament. That alone should be enough, but we also get a rematch between Andrade El Idolo and Pac. The first one was a heck of a fight and the rematch could live up to the expectations so let’s get to it. The big story coming out of the show is Roman Reigns retaining the Universal Title as Paul Heyman managed to stay in the middle while still interfering in the match. That could mean more than a few things going forward so let’s get to it. We open with a recap of Roman Reigns retaining the Universal Title over Brock Lesnar, albeit with an assist from the Usos and a title belt shot. The shots continue. This week, WWE presented its latest Saudi Arabia event, which included one of the most stacked cards in a very long time. However, as is the case with every Saudi Arabia show, there are certain problems hanging over the show, as Saudi Arabia’s human rights issues will be brought up every time. Now another wrestling promotion’s star is taking a shot at WWE as a result. During Crown Jewel, a fan held up a sign was held up saying “All My Homies Love Adam Pacitii” of Cultaholic, with Pachitti tweeting out a photo of the sign saying “I’ll take ‘things I didn’t expect to see on a WWE Saudi Arabia show’ for 500, Alex. Thank you!”. AEW’s Max Caster responded to the tweet with a Photoshopped version, with the sign saying “All My Homies Love The Acclaimed”, with the caption of “I’ll take “Things I Didn’t Expect to See on a Blood Money Show,” for $500, Alex!”. Eva Marie Is Missing From WWE For A Special Reason

That’s your explanation. Wrestlers are some of the more versatile performers that you will see in any form of entertainment. In addition to all of the athleticism that comes to wrestling a match, wrestlers have to make fans believe in what they are presenting. That is rather complicated and hard to pull off, and it would make sense to have wrestlers get attention for their efforts. Now it seems to be paying off for a wrestler as a result. Back on the September 27 edition of Monday Night Raw, Shayna Baszler attacked Eva Marie, stomping her arm on the ring steps. Eva Marie has not been seen since, and there is no word on when she will be back on WWE television. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Eva Marie is off filming a movie and the injury was used to write her off of television. Impact Wrestling Date: October 21, 2021 Location: Skyway Studios, Nashville, Tennessee Commentators: Josh Matthews, D’Lo Brown It’s the go home show for Bound For Glory and the card is set. That could leave a few different directions to choose this week and I’m curious to see where things are going to go. WWE Made Two Confusing Changes To Crown Jewel Main Event

What could have been. There are all kinds of ways to make a match more interesting, with one of the easiest ways being to add a stipulation. This could be anything as there are so many possibilities to make things better. Some of them are a lot more common than others, while some are very simple as well. That was almost the case this week, but then things changed. The main event of this week’s WWE Crown Jewel event saw Universal Champion Roman Reigns defending his title against Brock Lesnar. Prior to the show, WWE announced that the match would be no disqualification. However, during the Kickoff Show, another announcement was made saying that neither of them had any interest in the change, so it was dropped as a result. There is no word on why WWE announced the change and then reversed course. No disqualification matches can work rather well. VIDEO: The Former IIConics Release New Music Video

That’s one way to keep things going. One of the biggest stories in wrestling this year has been the massive amount of WWE roster changes. Several wrestlers have been released from the company, many of whom were quite the surprise. This has led to fallout in the form of wrestlers signing elsewhere, and now two such wrestlers are doing something fairly unique. The IInspiration, formerly known as the IIconics, have released a new music video, featuring the two of them in a song, also called The IInspiration, by Harley Cameron. The song features the two of them singing and dancing with Cameron along with some male background dancers. Backstage Reaction To WWE Crown Jewel, When WWE Is Returning To Saudi Arabia

That’s good to hear. There are all kinds of WWE events on the schedule every year and some of them are a lot bigger than others. What matters most though is the execution, as any show can be done well enough to make it interesting. If things go perfectly well on the bigger stage though, everyone tends to be a lot happier. That is the case again this week, as WWE had some success. According to PWInsider.com, the backstage reaction to this week’s WWE Crown Jewel was positive, with the feeling being that it was one of the best shows the company has produced in the last year. In addition, the company is expecting to return to Saudi Arabia for another event in the first quarter of 2022, but there is no word on an exact date. Becky Lynch Breaks Character After WWE Crown Jewel To Say Thank You

It’s a special moment. Wrestlers are in a unique place when it comes to maintaining characters. All other kinds of actors are able to turn things off once a production wraps and go back to being themselves, but that is certainly not the case with wrestlers (at least in theory). It is rare that you do not see them in character, but that was the case again this week after an important night. This week’s WWE Crown Jewel event featured a SmackDown Women’s Title match with Becky Lynch successfully defending against Sasha Banks and Bianca Belair. Following the event, Lynch posted a message to Instagram, saying that she would be dropping the trash talk for one night. Lynch thanked her opponents, the fans and the people who came before them to pave the way. She also congratulated Zelina Vega on winning the first Queen’s Crown tournament and to TJ Wilson for helping put the match together. Polish those crowns. Tournaments are one of the easiest concepts in all of wrestling because they are not that complicated. You take some wrestlers and put them into a bracket, with the last one standing winning some kind of a prize. Some wrestling tournaments have quite the history, and now two more of them have a new winner to behold. WWE held two tournament finals at Crown Jewel this week. First, Zelina Vega defeated Doudrop to win the first ever Queen’s Crown tournament. The tournament featured eight women and was WWE’s first attempt at a women’s tournament for a crown. Later in the show, Xavier Woods defeated Finn Balor to become the new King of the Ring. The tournament was most recently held in 2019 and has been held on and off since 1985. They were both big. That is quite the honor. WWE women’s wrestling has come a long way in the last few years and a lot of that is due to the Women’s Revolution. Health Update On NXT’s Jacy Jayne After Scary Crash

That could have been worse. Injuries are the kind of thing that can happen to anyone at any time and their impact can be devastating. You never know how bad something might be at the time, but luckily they often look worse than they actually are. That doesn’t make them any less scary at the time, which seems to be the case again with a recent scary situation. This week’s NXT featured a triple threat match between Io Shirai, Persia Pirotta and Jacy Jayne. During the match, Jayne attempted a suicide dive but landed face first on the floor, forcing her out of the match. According to Wrestling Observer Live, Jayne underwent a full CT scan and did not suffer a concussion. She is currently still advertised for a triple threat tag team ladder match at Halloween Havoc next week. Jayne can be effective when she stays in the ring. Put her on the wait list? AEW has come a long way in a relatively short amount of time and most of that is due to their roster. The company has been very successful due to the mixture of talent that they have assembled, which continues to grow week by week. A lot of wrestlers want to be part of the company, but this time someone wants to borrow one of its top wrestlers. In a new interview with Fightful, Impact Wrestling Knockouts Champion Deonna Purrazzo said that she wants to team with AEW Women’s Champion Britt Baker to challenge for the Impact Wrestling Knockouts Tag Team Titles. Purrazzo mentioned that she had spoken to Impact Wrestling and AEW executives Scott D’Amore and Tony Khan about making this happen. That’s different. The look is one of the most important aspects to a wrestler’s success. Ultimately, wrestling is a visual medium and the wrestlers need to make the fans want to watch. This week is a mixture of two fairly opposite things. First of all, I was out for my walk tonight with my music on and the theme from Friday Night Lights came on (excellent show if you’ve never seen it).
