More On New AEW Signing, Bad News For Ring Of Honor

I guess that’s really it. With so many things changing in the wrestling world as of late, it is easy to have trouble keeping track of all of them. Wrestlers are moving from one promotion to another all over the place and there is nothing to suggest that it will be slowing down anytime soon. That was the case again this weekend and now we know a bit more about everything. The big surprise during AEW’s Full Gear event saw former Ring of Honor World Champion Jay Lethal make his debut for the company. Lethal’s arrival comes after Ring of Honor announced that they would be going on hiatus to begin the new year. According to PWInsider.com, Lethal received his Ring of Honor release several days ago and will not appear at Final Battle on December 11. During the post-Full Gear media scrum, Lethal revealed that his deal with AEW only came together a few days ago. Lethal only met with AEW face to face on Saturday. Lethal is an awesome addition. Check out what he is bringing to AEW: [This post ..

Two AEW Stars Injured At Full Gear, Miss Event As a Result

That’s always a possibility. Injuries can happen at anytime to any wrestler and that is never a good thing to see. Sometimes these things happen over time, but on occasion they are the sort of injury that happens all at once. Either way, they can lead to a wrestler being out of action for some time, which seems to be the case again after a pair of physical matches over the weekend. According to PWInsider.com, both Malakai Black and Eddie Kingston were injured during this weekend’s AEW Full Gear pay per view. The two of them were pulled from The Big Event convention in New York City. There is no word on what kind of injuries they have suffered or how long either of them will be out of action. During the show, Black teamed with Andrade El Idolo against Cody Rhodes and Pac in a lowing effort, which CM Punk defeated Kingston. These two are rather talented. Emotional Moment Takes Place After AEW Full Gear Wraps Up

The champ is here. There are a lot of things that can change the wrestling landscape and a new World Champion is one of the most important. It can represent a new era for a wrestling promotion, especially if it has been a long time coming. That was the case this weekend, and we did not have to wait long to hear from the new champion, who was still rather emotional. The main event of this weekend’s AEW Full Gear pay per view saw Hangman Page defeat Kenny Omega to become the new World Champion. Following his win, the Dark Order came to the ring to celebrate with him to end the show. After the pay per view went off the air, Page addressed the crowd. Here is what he had to say, with transcription courtesy of PWInsider.com: “I told myself all day that if this was the outcome, I would cry like a little baby. I guess I lied to myself about that. That seems to be a thing with me. I lie to myself. When I joined the Bullet Club, I thought I’d never measure up. I thought I’d never belong and I ..

NXT Star Taking Some Time Away From The Ring

She needs a minute. There are so many wrestlers in the world today and thanks to modern technology, it has never been easier to keep track of someone. That can even be the case when they are not wrestling, which has opened up a new world of access. Unfortunately not everything that you see or hear from a wrestler is positive, and that seems to be the case again with a certain star. NXT’s Sarray has sent out a tweet saying that she is back in Japan but will be back soon. This comes after Sarray lost a match to Kay Lee Ray on this week’s NXT, after which she said that she was lost and nothing she did went as planned. There is no word on why Sarray has gone back to Japan or when she will be back. Sarray has been in WWE since April, wrestling on NXT and 205 Live. Sarray is lost. Nothing I do is working as planned. Why can’t I win…#WWENXT pic.twitter.com/bdCtKjBEty — SARRAY????? (@SarrayWWE) November 10, 2021 Sarray is back in Japan. But don't worry I'll be back soon. Thank ..

WRESTLING RUMORS: WWE Very High On Two NXT Stars

That’s a good place to be. To say NXT has been shaken up in a huge way would be the understatement of the day. NXT is nowhere near what it used to be just a few months ago, but that opens up a lot of options for wrestlers. Above all else, there are several spots available for wrestlers to get a chance to break through and show what they can do. WWE even already has its eye on a few people. Jon Alba is reporting that there are several people in NXT who are high on the team of Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams. The two worked a dark match during this week’s edition of SmackDown and were said to come off looking like stars. Hayes has had his supporters since his match with Adam Cole earlier this year and there is a possibility of him being called up to the main roster in the spring. Hayes is currently the NXT North American Champion. In talking to some people in #WWE last night, there are high hopes for the combo of Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams. The two worked a dark match last night..

Walter May Be More Open To Wrestling In The United States

More of the big one? There are certain wrestlers whose presence alone turns them into a star. That is not the kind of thing you get to see every day and it can be pretty awesome when it is done right. There are only a handful of wrestlers like that today, and now thanks to a change in their life behind the scenes, you might be getting to see more of them again in the future. According to PWInsider.com, NXT UK star Walter has recently changed his attitude about living in the United States. Over the last several years, WWE officials have attempted to get Walter to relocate to the United States but he has said no. It is not clear what has led to the change and there is nothing to suggest that Walter is coming to America full time at any point in the future. However, it now seems like a better possibility than ever before. This is a big deal. WATCH: Mustafa Ali Shows Us A Vignette WWE Will Not Allow To AIr

What could have been. There are a lot of stories that take place on a wrestling show at any point in a given year. Some of these are a lot better than others and several are remembered rather fondly. At the same time, some of them do not bring up the best memories for one reason or another. Then there are some which are discussed but are pulled without ever making it to television. Now we can see something that didn’t it to the WWE airwaves. SmackDown star Mustafa Ali has released a vignette which he filmed but never made it to WWE TV. The vignette features Ali in a suit, talking about how there was a need for a new America, as people like him would never be trusted. Ali spoke about how there is nothing more American than looking like him and something needed to change. This would have been a followup to a promo Ali cut on the October 29 edition of SmackDown, where he said no one believed in him because of his name. Ali has said that this promo will not air due to reasons beyond his c..

History Has Been Made! Huge Title Change At AEW Full Gear!

There’s the big one. AEW has not been around very long but they have build up a nice reputation for their championships. The company takes care of its titles and as a result, a title change feels like it means something. Someone winning a championship is a big moment in the company and now that is the case again, with the biggest title that AEW has to offer. Hangman Page won the AEW World Title in the main event of Full Gear on Saturday night, defeating Kenny Omega to end his record setting reign. This is the first World Title in Page’s career and his first singles title in AEW. Page was defeated by Chris Jericho in the match to crown the first ever AEW World Champion and is a former AEW Tag Team Champion with Omega as his partner. Page has been a big deal in AEW. All Elite: Record Setting World Champion Signs With AEW

There’s your next one. The wrestling landscape has been changing almost weekly over the last year and that was certainly the case last month, as Ring of Honor announced that it was entering a hiatus following Final Battle in December. As a result, most of its roster was suddenly free to go elsewhere, and now we know where one of the biggest names will be headed. During Saturday’s AEW Full Gear event, former Ring of Honor World Champion Jay Lethal made his debut, announcing that he was now All Elite. Lethal immediately challenged Sammy Guevara for the TNT Title and the match was made for next week’s edition of Dynamite. Lethal is a two time Ring of Honor World Champion and Television Champion and holds the record for most days as champion with both titles. Lethal has quite the resume of his own. AEW Full Gear 2021 Live Coverage And Results

Full Gear 2021 Date: November 13, 2021 Location: Target Center, Minneapolis, Minnesota Commentators: Jim Ross, Tony Schiavone, Excalibur It’s time for what is likely going to be one of the best AEW shows in history as the card is stacked. AEW has shown that they can put together an awesome card and then deliver on the potential. I’m looking forward to more than a few things on the show and that is a great feeling to have. Let’s get to it. Buy-In: Thunder Rosa/Hikaru Shida vs. Nyla Rose/Jamie Hayter The four of them are matched up in the TBS Title tournament and Vickie Guerrero is here with Rose/Hayter. Rosa and Rose start things off with Rosa grabbing some rollups for two each. A basement dropkick has Rose staggered and it’s off to Shida for a running knee in the corner. It’s back to Rosa, who gets powered into the wrong corner though, meaning the stomping is on. Rosa manages to roll away and brings Shida back in to start striking away as Serena Deeb is watching from ringside. Hayte..

NXT UK Results – November 11, 2021

NXT UK Date: November 11, 2021 Location: BT Sports Studios, London, England Commentators: Nigel McGuinness, Vic Joseph It’s time to crown some new #1 contenders as we have a four way tag match to find the next challengers for the NXT Tag Team Titles. This show continues to follow the old NXT formula, which allows such a match to feel that important. That’s a heck of a trick and they’ve done it again here. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Nathan Frazer vs. Mark Andrews Andrews takes over on the arm to start and Frazer can’t quite spin out of it yet. Back up and Frazer flips forward to stay on his feet but Andrews armdrags him down. That’s countered into a headscissors, setting up Frazer’s armdrag, which is countered into a headscissors for a standoff. Frazer snaps off a dropkick into a snap suplex for two but Andrews is back up with a running dropkick in the corner. They fight over a double arm crank until Andrews northern lights suplexes him for two. The Iron Octopus has Frazer i..

More On Several Recent WWE Releases And Backstage Restructuring

They’re done too. WWE has been going through a lot of changes in recent months, with a lot of them being in front of the camera. There have been all kinds of releases from the roster, but several of them have been from the corporate side of things. WWE has undergone quite the restructuring, and now a lot more people are leaving over another change. As previously reported, WWE released several more backstage employees earlier this month. This included many members of Stephanie McMahon’s staff, including Laura Petrocelli, who has been praised by McMahon in the past. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, these cuts were made because McMahon’s Branding department is being merged with the Marketing department. There is no word on if WWE will be making any more releases as a result of the merger. McMahon has quite her own set of memorable moments. Check out what she has done in WWE: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This pos..

AEW Star Out Of Action With A Concussion

Hopefully it isn’t bad. There are a lot of injuries in the wrestling world but one of the worst is anything involving the head. A head injury of any kind can take a long time to heal and it is one of the more serious issues a wrestler can have. Thankfully the industry has started taking head injuries far more seriously, which is why another wrestler is currently missing some time. According to Wrestlinginc.com, Lance Archer has suffered a concussion and is currently out of action. Archer injured his neck on the October 23 edition of AEW Dynamite when he landed on his head in a moonsault attempt, resulting in a neck sprain. Archer was expected to be out of action for 4-6 weeks due to the sprain, but it is not clear when he could be cleared of the concussion. Archer can be a heck of a monster when he is healthy. AEW Full Gear 2021 Preview, Predictions And Thoughts

It’s always fun to see AEW back on pay per view as they really have figured out the formula. They know what they are doing with the whole thing and we should be in for another one this time around. The card is absolutely stacked from top to bottom and we could be in for one of the more historic moments in AEW’s history to date. Let’s get to it. Pre-Show: Hikaru Shida/Thunder Rosa vs. Jamie Hayter/Nyla Rose It’s a battle of four people who are still in the TBS Title tournament and I’ve heard worse reasons to have a pre-show tag match. There isn’t much else connecting these women and they haven’t interacted much on TV, but it should do rather well as a way to get things rolling for the evening. It isn’t like Shida and Rose don’t know each other so maybe they can have a good match through familiarity. This can be great: [This post contains video, click to play] I’ll go with Shida and Rosa to win here as there is little reason to go with having the popular wrestlers lose to open the ni..

REVIEW: ECW November To Remember 1994: We’re Still Not Done

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be? November To Remember 1994 Date: November 5, 1994 Location: ECW Arena, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Attendance: 1,000 Commentator: Joey Styles This is one of the promotions I can’t escape no matter how hard I try. It’s a requested show that was just dropped on the Network a few weeks back and since it’s ECW’s flagship event, it’s probably worth a shot. In theory that is as ECW is one of the most unpredictable promotions in the world. Let’s get to it. This must be the full version as we even see the ring announcer co..

WATCH: B-Fab Music Video On WWE Release With Hit Row’s Top Dolla

Speak your minds. Talking is one of the most important aspects of wrestling, if not the most important of them all. The ability to speak allows a wrestler to get a message across and get fans to understand the story they’re telling. Some wrestlers have been incredibly talented at speaking over the years, but there are all kinds of ways to do so. Now some wrestlers are telling a story in a different way. B-Fab was one of the WWE wrestlers released from the company earlier this month. Since her release, she has released a rap thanking her fans. The track, called It’s Not Goodbye, was tweeted by Isaiah Swerve Scott and featured former Hit Row teammate Top Dolla. The song includes comparisons to Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair while also criticizing people for saying B-Fab is not ready. It’s an emotional song. How Coronavirus Vaccination Status Changes WWE’s View Of Wrestlers

That’s a different perspective. The Coronavirus pandemic has changed the way a lot of things work, including the wrestling industry. Every promotion has been affected in one way or another, with some of them being more devastated than others. WWE has managed to keep things going, but there is still something related to the virus that still needs to be addressed. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE wrestlers who are not vaccinated against the Coronavirus have been told that they are less valuable than those who have been. This comes as several countries require wrestlers to be vaccinated in order to participate on overseas tours. There is nothing to suggest that unvaccinated wrestlers are under any danger of losing their jobs as a result of their vaccination status. WWE has gone international before. Check out some of their times overseas: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] ..

WWE May Not Hold Major Event Over WrestleMania Weekend

That would be a big miss. We are approaching the end of the year and for WWE, that means it is time to start the Road to WrestleMania. What used to be the biggest night of the wrestling year has turned into nearly the biggest week of the wrestling year, with all kinds of events taking place over several days. However, one of the more prominent events is not currently on the schedule. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE does not currently have plans for a Hall of Fame induction ceremony during next year’s WrestleMania festivities. The event usually takes place the night before WrestleMania, but next year’s WrestleMania will again be a two night event on Saturday and Sunday, with SmackDown taking place on Friday night. There is always the chance that WWE could add the ceremony to the schedule at a later date. There have been some great Hall of Fame inductions. Check out some of the better moments: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, c..

Try Again? Retired WWE Star Wants To Wrestle Again

One more run? There have been so many wrestlers to work for WWE over the years that it is almost impossible to remember them all. Some of them make more of an impact than others, but some wind up sticking around even after their in-ring careers end. On rare occasions, you see someone who makes a surprising return though, and that might be the case again. WWE broadcaster Corey Graves has sent out a pair of tweets saying that he wants to wrestle again. Earlier this year, Graves sent out another tweet saying he was put on this planet to do something but isn’t doing it. Graves has not wrestled since April 2014 due to a series of concussions and began broadcasting for WWE at the end of the year. This comes four days after he won and lost the 24/7 Title on Monday Night Raw. Graves, 37 years old, wrestled exactly 14 years, beginning his career on March 22, 2000 and wrestling his final match on March 22, 2014. There is no word from WWE on a Graves in-ring return. I was put on this earth to d..

Jim Ross’ Cancer Treatment May Force Him To Take A Break From AEW

That’s never good to hear. There is a lot of wrestling on television today and there are a lot of people involved in every show. Some of them might not get the same amount of recognition though, as there are all kinds of people who are part of the show without actually wrestling. You can see and hear from these people every single week, but that might not be the case for one of them for the time being. During the latest edition of his Grilling JR podcast, AEW’s Jim Ross announced that he will be undergoing radiation therapy to deal with the skin cancer on his foot. Ross said that he will know more after November 22, but there is a chance that he may have to step away from broadcasting duties with AEW. He also mentioned that he would like to be good to go by January for Dynamite’s move to TBS, but there is no word on how much, if any at all, time Ross might miss. Ross has been a huge deal in AEW. Check out some of his time in the company: [This post contains video, click to play] [..
