Malakai Black Debunks Several Rumors About Him, Reveals Death Threats

He would know. There has been a lot of movement in the wrestling world in recent months, with stars either jumping from one promotion to another or just taking some kind of a hiatus. That has led to some interesting changes in the wrestling landscape and it is not clear where it will all end. However, one star whose name has been discussed in recent weeks has spoken up and straightened a lot of things out. In recent weeks, Malakai Black has been reported to have left AEW or at least taken a hiatus from the company. Black released a statement saying he was recalibrating after several years and would need some time to think. This week, Black live streamed a video on his Instagram page, addressing several of the rumors and explaining some of his current situation. Here are some highlights: • Black’s contract with AEW is not for five years. • Black has been granted time off from AEW by Tony Khan to deal with some things. • He has received criticism over unconfirmed stories, including two..

LOOK: New White Rabbit Clue Points To Former WWE Star (This Is Weird)

Well that’s a turn. WWE has been running quite the mystery in recent weeks, but very little of it has been taking place on television. Instead, WWE has been doing more of an underground story, with incidents taking place at live events and a series of QR codes appearing on television, leading to more clues. There was another one this week and things got even weirder. A new QR code appeared this week on Monday Night Raw, taking you to a site that features a collection of WWE clips which comprise the words “Who killed the world? You did.” It also included coordinates for Prata Nevoso, Italy, the location of the Giant Pink Bunny. In addition, according to Ryan Satin, looking at the site’s source code shows the phrases “No man is ever truly good, no man is ever truly evil”. These were the lyrics to Aleister Black’s WWE theme music, though there is nothing to suggest that Black is on his way back to WWE. WHOAHHH! While searching for the QR code on here, because I was having trouble on m..

RUMOR KILLER On Attempt To Bring AEW Stars Back To WWE

Not so much for that. The rise of AEW has opened up several new doors for wrestlers, as stars now have a new platform to ply their trade on a big stage. AEW has had some success so far and the question now becomes how much of that can they maintain. At the same time, there are going to be some wrestlers who want out, but it seems that one recent story wasn’t accurate. Last week, a report surfaced saying that Bobby Fish, who has left AEW, was trying to get Adam Cole and Kyle O’Reilly to return with him to WWE. However, according to Fightful Select, AEW sources are denying this story and there has been no contact between WWE and Fish about a possible return. Both Cole and O’Reilly are currently out of action with injuries and it is not known when they will be back. Opinion: This makes a bit more sense, as even if the three of them wanted to go back to WWE, there is a long list of issues that they would have to solve with their AEW deals in the first place. The Undisputed Era could work..

REVIEW: WCPW Pro Wrestling World Cup Finals: The Big Finish

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be? WCPW Pro Wrestling World Cup Finals Date: August 26, 2017 Location: Sport Central, Newcastle Upon Tyne, England Commentators: Dave Bradshaw, James R. Kennedy So back in 2017, What Culture Pro Wrestling (later Defiant Wrestling) set up a massive tournament with wrestlers from around the world taking part. As you can guess, this is the big final, with both the semifinals and finals taking place. This was a cool concept and I didn’t get to see any of it but here’s the big ending. Lets get to it. Opening sequence. S..

WATCH: Surprise Return Sets Up Future WWE Showdown

He’s back. There are all kinds of stars on the WWE roster and some of them are all time legends. WWE knows how to present those wrestlers on a less frequent basis for the sake of keeping them looking strong and it can mean a lot to see those wrestlers show up again every so often. That was the case again this week as a star returned and looks ready for his next big showdown. The main event of this week’s Monday Night Raw saw Riddle defeat Damian Priest with the rest of Judgment Day at ringside. Following the match, Edge made his return to the show and attacked Judgment Day before challenging Finn Balor to an I Quit match at Extreme Rules. This was Edge’s return after a two week absence when Judgment Day attacked him and injured his knee. It was a cool moment. Check out Edge’s return: [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: This is the kind of return that WWE needs to set things up for their upcoming event. WWE knows that they have something special with Edge and it make..

Monday Night Raw Results – September 26, 2022

Monday Night Raw Date: September 26, 2022 Location: Rogers Place, Edmonton, Alberta, Canada Commentators: Jimmy Smith, Corey Graves, Byron Saxton We are less than two weeks away from Extreme Rules and the card could use some work. There are some more matches that could be added to the card and the show could use some more extreme. That shouldn’t be difficult to figure out and I’m curious to see what they do. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Here are Bianca Belair, Alexa Bliss and Asuka for a chat. Belair would call out Bayley right now but she knows it wouldn’t be a fair fight. Last week, Bayley should have fought Bliss one on one but that wasn’t the case. Cue Damage Ctrl, with Bayley saying she is taking over WWE and that means getting the title back. Belair says Bayley was great but then she got hurt and now someone new is here. Bayley wants the title and she’ll take it in a ladder match at Extreme Rules. For now though, we need a match. Bianca Belair vs. Iyo Sky Non-title. Bel..

WATCH: Intense Brawl Takes Place After Monday Night Raw

The show isn’t over. There are a lot of different ways to present a wrestling feud and some of them are more effective than others. One of the best ways is to create a personal issue between two people, which is the direction several feuds take. That is the case with one of the more prominent issues WWE is presenting at the moment and that was obvious after Monday Night Raw went off the air. The main event of this week’s Monday Night Raw featured Riddle defeating Damian Priest. WWE has posted a video to Twitter, showing Seth Rollins coming out after the show to brawl with Rollins, with referees and agents separating them. Rollins and Riddle have been feuding for the last few months and are set for a match at Extreme Rules inside the Fight Pit on October 5. It was a violent one. Check out what happened after the show ended: [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: This is the kind of thing that is almost always going to work and it did so again here. Sometimes you need to ..

WWE Likely Adds Two Stipulations To Extreme Rules

Add them on. WWE has a lot of major shows throughout the year and some of them need something extra to make them stand out. As a result, WWE has special themes for a lot of its shows, some of which are about as cut and dry as you can get. That includes next month’s Extreme Rules, which will be built around more violent matches. We ight have seen two more added this week. This week on Monday Night Raw, WWE added a stipulation to a previously announced match and likely added an entirely new match. The show opened with an exchange between Bayley and Raw Women’s Champion Bianca Belair. Bayley said she wanted their already announcement match at Extreme Rules to be a ladder match, which was made official later in the show. The final segment of the show saw Edge make his return and challenge Finn Balor to an I Quit match at Extreme Rules, though that match has yet to be made official. Opinion: This is the kind of night that the show needed as there wasn’t a ton of extreme on the card. WWE h..

Former NXT Star Makes Surprise Return To WWE In Main Roster Debut

Welcome back to the family. WWE has been shaken up in a lot of ways in recent months, both behind the scenes and in front of the camera. One of the biggest changes has been due to the amount of wrestlers who have been brought back. That can make for some very exciting television and WWE did it again this week, with a surprise return and debut taking place at the same time. This week on Monday Night Raw, Candice LeRae made her return to the company and main roster debut, defeating Nikki Ash. LeRae had been absent from WWE since late 2021 as she went on maternity leave. Her contract expired in May of this year and she chose not to renew it. LeRae’s husband Johnny Gargano is also on the Monday Night Raw roster, having returned to the company last month. Opinion: LeRae might not be a game changer (yet) but she is certainly a nice debut as she never got a chance on the main roster. If nothing else, it is nice to see LeRae and Gargano on the same show again as you do not see many real life..

WATCH: Incredible Video On Ric Flair’s 50 Years In Wrestling (This Is Great)

Not many people can say it. There are legends in wrestling and then there are all time greats, who are the biggest names in the history of the industry. Those are the people that you hear about for years after their careers are over, but occasionally they reach that top level while still active. That is technically still the case with an all time great, and now we are getting a special look back at what he has done. This December, Ric Flair will be celebrating 50 years in professional wrestling. As a result, Flair has released a video looking at his entire career, including a look at some of the highest points. Also included are clips of Flair in action every year he wrestled, beginning back in 1972 and going all the way through his final match in July of this year. The video runs over an hour and forty minutes. This is pretty awesome. Check out what Flair has done over the years: [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: Your opinions on Flair aside, there is no way to i..

WWE Considering Bringing Reunited NXT Team To Main Roster

They could be next. WWE is a unique wrestling promotion in that they have so many resources available to them. One of their biggest is their own in-house developmental system in the form of NXT. As a result, the company is able to build up stars with national exposure before bringing them up to the main roster. That might be what we are getting to see again. Over the weekend, Veer Mahaan reunited with Sanga at an NXT live event to reform the Indus Sher tag team. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, WWE is considering bringing the team up from NXT to the main roster at some point in the near future. There is no word on when the team might be brought up. Indus Sher teamed together in NXT before splitting up, with Mahaan coming up to main roster. Opinion: I can go with the idea of bringing the team up to the main roster, but I would hope that WWE has something a little more interesting in mind this time. Indus Sher basically consisted of two big, strong guys from the same country with..

Impact Wrestling Results – September 22, 2022

Impact Wrestling Date: September 22, 2022 Location: The Factory, Dallas, Texas Commentators: Tom Hannifan, Matthew Rehwoldt It’s the go home show for Victory Road, which means we are about a month away from Bound For Glory. Victory Road is being treated as a pretty big deal so it would make sense to have a good go home show. This week does feature a pretty big showdown with Aussie Open vs. the Motor City Machine Guns. Let’s get to it. Opening recap. Digital Media Title: Bhupinder Gujjar vs. Brian Myers Myers is defending in a ladder match. Gujjar slugs away to start and hits a jumping knee to the face. A Samoan drop looks to set up the Gargoyle spear but Myers knees him out of the way. The first ladder is brought in but Gujjar dropkicks it into his face. Myers knocks him outside though and goes up for the title, only to be pulled down into a cutter. Now the Gargoyle spear can send Myers into the ladder but the climb takes too long, as usual. The ladder is knocked into Gujjar and it..

NXT LVL Up Results – September 23, 2022

NXT LVL Up Date: September 23, 2022 Location: Capitol Wrestling Center, Orlando, Florida Commentators: Sudu Shah, Nigel McGuinness, Matt Camp The low level roller coaster continues with this show as I’m not sure what to expect. There have been some minor stories to set up some matches, plus a few appearances from bigger names. Then again, given this show’s track record, all of that will be dropped as soon as possible. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Dante Chen vs. Bryson Montana Montana runs him over to start so Chen grabs a headlock. Some takeovers give Chen some momentum and there’s a dropkick to stagger Montana. That’s about it for the offense though as Montana runs him over and hammers away on the mat. A Michinoku Driver gives Montana two and we hit the bearhug. Chen fights out and hits a clothesline, followed by a boot to the face. The double chop finishes Montana at 5:42. Result: Dante Chen b. Bryson Montana – Double chop (5:42) Myles Borne is ready for Andre Chase. Indi..

WATCH: WWE Hall Of Famer Explains Recent Bizarre Twitter Activity

There’s a good reason. Wrestling has changed a lot over the years, especially in the last few years. One of the biggest ways has been the rise of social media, as wrestlers are now able to communicate with their fans like never before. This is a great way to interact with the people but not everything works out for the best. That was the situation this weekend when things got a bit weird. Over the weekend, WWE Hall of Famer Teddy Long went on a blocking spree on Twitter, cutting off a large portion of wrestlers who followed him on the platform. Several wrestlers seemed surprised by the situation and Long changed his account to private. Long later released a video, announcing that his Twitter had indeed been hacked and that he didn’t want anyone to be mad at him. He also promised to explain more about the situation later. Now hold on a minute, playa! pic.twitter.com/Ni6gxWRojn — Samuel Guevara (@sammyguevara) September 25, 2022 I am!! Haha what is this teddy purge about? https://t.c..

WWE Has Two Possible Reasons For Pushing WWE Star Again

She’s filling in the gap. WWE has a lot of talented wrestlers on its roster and the company can have a hard time finding something for everyone to do. One of the easiest ways to fix the problem is to have some of the wrestlers sit on the sidelines, which can be the case for a variety of reasons. That has taken place again at the moment and now we know a bit more about what happened. As previously reported, WWE’s Aliyah is currently injured but is expected to be back soon. In her absence, Shotzi has been helping Raquel Rodriguez, Aliyah’s normal partner. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the substitution has been made to either have Shotzi become Rodriguez’s new partner, or to simply turn Shotzi into a babyface. Shotzi and Rodriguez have not teamed together yet and Aliyah could be back as soon as this week. Opinion: This is something that feels like killing a few birds with one stone, as it allows Rodriguez to have a new partner while also giving Shotzi something to do. ..

WATCH: Surprise Title Change Takes Place At WWE Live Event

It really can come out of nowhere. Titles are one of the most important things in all of wrestling. They designate who the top stars in the promotion are supposed to be and give the fans something to notice. With so many championships, it can be difficult to find a way to make each one stand out. A gimmick can help, and that was on display this weekend at a live event. WWE referee Aja Smith won the WWE 24/7 Title from Nikki Ash at a WWE live event in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada on Saturday. Ash was scheduled to defend against Dana Brooke but stopped to show Smith, who rolled her up with fellow WWE referee Shawn Bennett counting the pin. Bennett then tried to roll Smith up for the title but only counted his own two. Ash then won the title back and eventually released footage of the whole situation. WWE has done something similar at recent live events, with different referees winning the title. You don’t see this every day. Check out the title changes: [This post contains vide..

LOOK: The Usos May Have Surprise Challengers For The WWE Tag Team Titles

They would be different. Tag team wrestling has a weird history in WWE as the company has rarely been huge on pushing it. Instead, teams are often put together for the sole purpose of splitting them up later. That is certainly not the case with the top team in the company at the moment though, as the Usos are approaching the record for longest Tag Team Title reign in company history. They need some fresh challengers, and now a new team might be stepping up. Following this week’s SmackDown, Mace of the Maximum Male Models tweeted out a picture of the team with both sets of Tag Tam Titles Photoshopped onto them. While not specifically stated, this could suggest that the team is coming after the Usos’ championships. The Maximum Male Models made their in-ring debut as a team on the August 26 SmackDown and have yet to win a match. mmmanifesting the prophecy. pic.twitter.com/rGzvbfJz2S — ma.çé (@MACEtheWRESTLER) September 24, 2022 Opinion: I’m not sure I can imagine the Maximum Male Mode..

Drew McIntyre Pulled From WWE Events Over Medical Issue

You never want to hear that. There are a lot of reasons that a wrestler could miss a show and most of them are not good, especially if they involve health issues. While wrestlers are often getting injured, you do not see that many situations of a wrestler missing time from the ring due to illness. That seems to be the case at the moment with one of WWE’s most prominent stars. According to PWInsider.com, Drew McIntyre was pulled from a pair of live events over the weekend due to a bout of food poisoning. McIntyre is said to have forced his way through SmackDown and then been taken off the road to give him the weekend to recover. The situation involved McIntyre receiving an IV of fluids during SmackDown. Braun Strowman replaced McIntyre on the shows. Opinion: That sounds terrible for McIntyre and hopefully he gets back in the ring sooner than later. McIntyre has a reputation for being one of the hardest working people in WWE and it is rare to see him take a day off, so I would hardly c..

Another Star Possibly Gone From AEW

Catch you later? There are a lot of talented wrestlers on the AEW roster but there is only so much television time to go around. As a result, it can be rather difficult to find a way to keep everyone on television on a regular basis. That will continue to be a problem until there are fewer wrestlers or more television time and now we might be seeing one of the problems lighten up a bit. According to Fightful Select, Buddy Matthews may be either out of AEW or going away for the time being. His pinfall loss to Sting on Rampage is reported to be the way AEW will write him off of television. This comes after Matthews was said to have been upset over how he was used in AEW for the last several months. Matthews reportedly addressed the situation at a Fight Live Pro Wrestling event over the weekend, where he said this: “Unfortunately, tonight, I’m going to be the bearer of some unfortunate news. As everyone knows, the House of Black has had some issues lately. As all the members of the hous..
