As per previous reports, the bout to close WrestleMania 33 is scheduled to be ”The Icon” Bill Goldberg vs. Brock Lesnar for the WWE Universal Championship. This match is going to be ”The Main Event” due to it fitting the box office feel that surrounds the spectacle of the event. The WWE Championship bout between ”The Eater of Worlds” Bray Wyatt and ”The Viper” Randy Orton will take place early.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the current plan is that this match (Lesnar/Goldberg) will not be long in duration. The quick matches that Goldberg had against The Beast at Survivor Series PPV and ”Mr Wrestling” Kevin Owens at WWE Fastlane PPV, as well as the Royal Rumble elimination of Lesnar, is to build Goldberg up as an unstoppable monster figure, just to be dethroned by Lesnar at the ”Show of Shows”.

Yesterday, video package was shown featuring Lesnar decimating Owens at a WWE SD Live House Show at The Garden. Owens has a rematch clause, which has not been called upon by Owens yet. No word on if Owens will use it on Lesnar following WrestleMania 33, or if it will be dropped altogether.

Based on the current plans, Lesnar is scheduled to defeat Goldberg in quickly to conclude WWE WrestleMania 33 and become the new WWE Universal Champion.
