Shane McMahon Has Gotten A New Job

That’s something new. Vince McMahon has a long history of success in wrestling, but things have not gone so well outside of the industry. McMahon has tried various other endeavors which had little or nothing to do with wrestling without much success. This includes the XFL, the other XFL, the World Bodybuilding Federation, WWE Studios and a minor league hockey team among others. It might be better for McMahon to stick to wrestling, but what about his son? Shane McMahon has been named the Executive Chairman of Ideanomics, a company involved in the electric vehicle and hydrogen fuel cell industry. Shane has been a part of the company since 2010 and is a former Vice Chairman. The company, formerly known as YOU On Demand, has begun to shift into a different industry with Shane being part of the change. This is the XFL! The Coronavirus pandemic has caused a great deal of uncertainty and unrest in 2020, in both the professional and personal lives of many people around the world. One of the major economic downfalls was the bankruptcy of the XFL, which happened in April of this year. However, in July, former WWE superstar Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson announced that he had purchased the XFL. So that’s where he is now. Vince McMahon has changed the way the wrestling world works and that might not be for the best in everyone’s eyes. The WWE has become the dominant superpower in wrestling and has been the case for decades now. As a result, McMahon has become one of the wealthiest people in the world, but where does he rank exactly? It might not be as high as you would expect. While McMahon is the most successful person ever in wrestling, he has not had the most success outside of the industry. He has had notable failures such as the World Bodybuilding Federation, ICO-PRO and the XFL among various others, all of which have cost him quite a bit of money. Third strike is out? Vince McMahon has had an amazing amount of success in the world of wrestling but that is not always the case outside of the industry. McMahon is known to have not had the best success away from wrestling but that does not mean he has given up the efforts. One such effort came and went over the course of this year, but now we have written off the next step as well. Back in February, the second edition of the XFL was launched, with the first few weeks of the season being fairly well received. Then came the Coronavirus pandemic, which shut everything down in a hurry. The league declared bankruptcy, meaning that someone could buy the rights and possibly make another go of it. There was a possibility that McMahon himself would do so and possibly find a way to keep going at a much cheaper rate, but that seems to have been shot down. Does this really surprise you? Vince McMahon is not exactly a normal person. While he is already filthy rich, like any businessman, he is always trying to make more money. This includes various business ventures outside of the wrestling world, most of which have not played out very well. One such venture is more infamous than others, and now we might be seeing it for a third time. Back in 2001, McMahon started up a football league called the XFL. It was a legendary failure, only lasting one season and then collapsing due to a variety of reasons. XFL Cancels Remainder of 2020 Season Due to Coronavirus

The XFL announced yesterday that it was canceling the remainder of the 2020 season, due to the spread of the Coronavirus across the United States. They are following suit along with other major sports organizations across the country who are delaying or canceling their seasons, due to the pandemic. However, all players will be paid their base pay and benefits for the 2020 regular season. All XFL ticket holders will be issued refunds or credit toward future games. Vince McMahon’s XFL Revival Already Has Some Early Competition

Vince McMahon only recently revealed the revival of the XFL but it seems that alongside the pre-existing NFL, McMahon may have new competition and he is very familiar with the man responsible for it. The name behind this competition is Charlie Ebersol, someone very familiar to McMahon. Ebersol’s father Dick was a longtime NBC executive and actually helped McMahon launch the original XFL years ago, with Ebersol himself directing the recent ESPN 30 for 30 documentary on the failed launch of the original XFL. Today, Ebersol has announced the formation of the Alliance of American Football. According to WrestlingInc, Ebersol plans to launch the AAF on CBS on February 9, 2019 which is set to follow the NFL’s Super Bowl. This is much sooner than the XFL, which is set to begin in early 2020. Dick will serve on a board of directors alongside former NFL stars Hines Ward, Justin Tuck, and Jared Allen.
