William Regal Finalizing A Deal To Return To WWE

Welcome home. According to reports from PWInsider and Wrestling News, William Regal is finalizing a deal to officially return to WWE in the new year. This is after previous reports surfaced that he was officially done with AEW and that he will not renew his contract when it expires this month. Regal has being in AEW since March of this year, when he debuted at their Revolution pay-per-view. He has primarily been associated with the Blackpool Combat Club since this time with the company; however, he allied himself with MJF at the recent Full Gear pay-per-view. Regal provided MJF with some brass knuckles, which he used to defeat Jon Moxley, and become the new AEW world heavyweight champion. However, on this past week’s episode of dynamite, MJF would turn on Regal, knocking him out with those same brass knuckles and effectively writing him off of television. It is expected that Regal will return to WWE in a backstage role. Editor’s Opinion: Once I heard that Triple H was taking over ..

Add Him Up: Another Former World Champion Reportedly Returning To WWE

There goes another one. There have been a lot of moves in the wrestling world in recent months, with several stars moving from one company to another. This has mainly been between WWE and AEW but there are other promotions out there which have some talented stars. Now another of them seems to have finished up with his old home and is heading off to another place. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: WRESTLING RUMORS: WWE Discusses Bringing Back Hell In A Cell MUCH Earlier Than Expected The closing segment of this week’s edition of Impact Wrestling saw Deaner stab Eric Young, seemingly writing Young out of the promotion. This comes as PWInsider.com is reporting that Young is finishing up with Impact Wreslting to return to WWE. There is no word on when Young will be back with WWE or what he will be doing there. The Next Big Thing: Triple H Reveals Brock Lesnar Is Selling Meat

Eat it before he eats you. Wrestlers can do a lot of things and some of them have nothing to do with what goes on in the ring. Sometimes you hear about them doing something outside of wrestling, possibly using their celebrity status to get the word out a bit easier. That is apparently the case with a top WWE star, even if you have never heard of them before. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Danger Of War: Bloodline Member Possibly Injured During WarGames Triple H recently appeared on Snack Wars, where he mentioned being a fan of beef jerky. As an aside, Triple H mentioned that Brock Lesnar has his own line of beef jerky, which is called “Bearded Butcher Brock Lesnar Beef Bites” which are sold on Bearded Butchers’ online store, though as of this writing, they are out of stock. Lesnar has never mentioned the product on WWE TV. It is not clear when Lesnar will return to WWE. Lesnar can do a lot of things outside of the beef jerky business. AEW’s Saraya Shares Details On Planned Autobiography About Her Drug Addiction Issues

She has a story to tell. There are all kinds of wrestlers in the industry and some of them have very interesting stories. Some of them are inspiring stories that you will not see almost anywhere else, while others are much sadder stories that happen to have a happy ending. Now another of the sadder stories is going to tell her story in a longer form than most get to use. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Bring Them Back? AEW’s Tony Khan Opens Up On The Status Of Miro And Andrade El Idolo AEW’s Saraya appeared on Insight With Chris Van Vliet where she discussed writing a book about her life and struggles with drug addiction. Saraya is not sure on what the book will cover or whether it should be split into multiple books. She also promised that the book will include the dark side of her life and addiction issues. There was no release date included, but Saraya said the book would take a year or two to write. She has come a long way. Check out Saraya’s time in AEW: [This post contains video, clic..

KB’s Review: They Never Learn

It’s that time of year again and….ok I might need to be a bit more specific. We are done with WrestleMania, but we are far from being done with the WrestleMania stories. The season might be done, but WWE has only milked one extra pay per view out of what they did at WrestleMania. That will be remedied this weekend by Hell In A Cell, because you know full well that WWE isn’t going to put in any extra effort than they have to. That has been on full display this week and now you can see it very clearly. We are currently four days away from Hell In A Cell and as of this writing, there are six matches set for the show. Two of these were added earlier this week on Monday Night Raw and so far, there is not a single SmackDown star on the card. Not one, because there is not one match from SmackDown taking place. This is hardly the first time WWE has done this (they have even done it at Hell In A Cell before) but you would think they would have learned a lesson based on something else that has ..

KB’s Review: Character Writing 101

A wrestling promotion can present an angle in all kinds of ways. It could be serious, funny, silly, dramatic or several other points in between. Oftentimes you will see some combination of two (or sometimes more) styles mixed together and it can make for some great moments. However, that is not the easiest thing to make work and it can be very easy to get it wrong. That seems to be the case again now, as WWE has gotten even further into the habits of getting stories more than a bit wrong. One of the most important things about presenting a story is to know your characters. While you can get a character to do just about anything, there has to be a path to make it work. This might be something from their past or present or even future, but you can’t just throw something out there and hope that it makes sense. You need a path to make something logical and that is where WWE has been slipping as of late. NXT has something special on its hands, as two time NXT Champion Bron Breakker is as ..

KB’s Review: That Would Be Stupendous

As you probably know, we are ten days away from WrestleMania 38 and as of this writing, eleven matches have been set for the show, with five matches on the first night and six on the second. In theory, there are going to be about four or five more matches added to the card, though WWE needs to actually get somewhere with that. There are a few matches you can probably guarantee from here, but there are two people who seem to be sitting around waiting on something. Within the last month, WWE has seen multiple title changes, including two singles titles. On February 28, Finn Balor defeated Damian Priest to win the United States Title. On March 4, Ricochet defeated Sami Zayn to win the Intercontinental Title. Both of those title changes are within six weeks of WrestleMania, but WWE does not seem to notice that either of the changes have taken place. With regards to WrestleMania, the United States and Intercontinental Titles mean a grand total of nothing. Neither champion is currently sch..

WRESTLING RUMORS: Why WWE Star Has Been Missing From TV

It could have worked. With so many wrestlers on the WWE roster, it can be a little bit tricky to find something for everyone to do. That can create quite a few problems and some of them seem to involve WWE just not having any kind of an idea to give to a wrestler. Unfortunately that seems to be the case again and has been the case for the last several months now. According to Ringsidenews.com, Elias is currently in “creative purgatory” as WWE has nothing for him to do. Elias has reportedly not been mentioned by WWE Creative in several months as he has not been seen since August. His last appearance saw Elias burying his guitar and ring gear, though he has yet to return to WWE television since. There is no word on if or when Elias will return to WWE TV. Opinion: This isn’t exactly surprising and that is not the best thing to see. At the end of the day, Elias was not someone who had the most detailed character, as his whole thing was just about playing his guitar and writing songs abou..

WWE Legend Releasing His Own Comic Book

It’s a unique honor. Wrestlers exist in a weird place when it comes to celebrity status. They are on television almost every week, but even then they are only known as wrestlers. That is not something that lends itself to mainstream exposure, but every now and then you see someone make it over the hill and into the next stage. Sometimes that can come with some unique opportunities and that seems to be the case again. WWE Hall of Famer Rikishi has announced that he will be starring in his own comic book. The book, titles Kishi and the Island of Dreams, will be released at some point in summer 2022. Rikishi will have a say in the creative direction of the story though he will not be writing it. There is no word on how many issues are planned for the book, which will be produced by AnimeHipHop. Here we go fans . Stay tuned its my first comic book coming ???#KishiAndTheIslandOfDreams #Summer2022 https://t.co/TnXyjQxsnH — RIKISHI (@TheREALRIKISHI) February 23, 2022 Opinion: This is some..

Cody Rhodes’ WWE Return: What’s Changed For The AEW Co-Founder?

Cody Rhodes’ recent departure from All Elite Wrestling was sudden and surprising for many fans. The American Nightmare is a founding father of AEW after all and now, he’s a former Executive Vice President. It’s a surreal moment for the AEW faithful, there is no denying that. But there’s also no denying that Cody’s next landing spot is likely WWE. While Vince McMahon’s company has not made the signing official as of this writing, the fact is that fans expect it to happen anytime. So assuming Rhodes’ return to WWE is imminent, the question is what’s changed? pic.twitter.com/iyKVg1nVpm — Cody Rhodes (@CodyRhodes) February 15, 2022 Old Wounds When Cody left WWE in 2016, he was frustrated. The Stardust gimmick that he was using wasn’t for everyone and despite Cody’s best efforts, it ultimately wasn’t for him either. He wanted a change and the company didn’t allow that change to happen. Rhodes’ next few steps after leaving WWE defined his career for the next six years. He became a star ..

WWE Morale Reportedly Down Backstage Due To Issues With The Royal Rumble

Is anyone writing this stuff down? There are a lot of moving parts to any WWE event and the Royal Rumble might be the most complicated of them all. When a show has so many people involved in a pair of matches, it is going to take some special planning to make everything work out. Not having things work out well can cause quite the mess and unfortunately that seems to be the case again this year. According to PWInsider.com, WWE’s backstage morale is down after this weekend’s Royal Rumble. The frustration came from the amount of changes made to the card, which were blamed for the quality of the event being seen as poor. This included about twenty changes to the men’s Royal Rumble over the course of the week, including eliminations, the order of the entrants and how the wrestlers would compete during the match. The women’s match included several changes as well. Vince McMahon was said to have been heavily involved with the show’s layout. Opinion: What do you expect here? The Royal Rumbl..

Danhausen Debuts In AEW

Very nice, very evil. On tonight’s episode of Dynamite, former ROH star Danhausen made his debut with AEW. He appeared under the ring when Adam Cole tried to grab a chair to use in his Lights Out match with Orange Cassidy in the main event. You can see the video of the debut below: [This post contains video, click to play] Danhausen has been out of action since Halloween of 2021, when he suffered an injury during an independent event. His current plan is to be back to in-ring competition by February of this year. Editor’s Opinion: I have to be completely honest: I have absolutely no idea who this person is. However, in doing my research for writing this article, it would seem that he has developed a cult following, which I am intrigued of learning more about. Also, the reaction from the crowd when he made his debut was legitimate, which tells me that there is something more to this character. I hope that Danhausen has success in AEW and I am very interested in learning more about..

Another Major Change In NXT Leadership And Creative

It’s all about control. WWE is a huge company and has varying levels of authority. While Vince McMahon has the final say in everything, there are several people beneath him with various responsibilities. Some of those are rather important names, and now two of them will be taking charge of something rather big, which we can see every single week on television. According to PWInsider.com, Bruce Prichard and Christine Lubrano (Senior Vice President of Creative Writing Operations) will now officially oversee NXT’s creative, as is the case with Monday Night Raw and SmackDown. Johnny Russo will serve as NXT’s head of creative after serving as lead writer since July 2020. This comes after most of Triple H’s creative team was let go from the company last week in the latest round of releases. There are three of the same. Check out all of the shows Prichard and Lubrano oversee: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, ..

Tony Khan Responds To Criticisms Of AEW’s Lack Of Diversity And Structure

That could have gone better. AEW has come a very long way in its short history and a lot of that is due to company President Tony Khan. Fans have been waiting a very long time for a huge wrestling fan with serious money to run their own promotion and now Khan is finally here to do just that. There are going to be some rocky points eventually though and that seems to be the case again. Former AEW star Big Swole discussed her time in the company during an episode of her Swole World podcast. Swole said that she left AEW at the end of November because her inner peace was being disturbed. Her heart was no longer in AEW and she felt that the company needed some more structure. This included wanting more time for women’s wrestling, saying that there was not enough television time to go around. Many wrestlers were getting short matches on Dark, which was not enough for some of them. She also mentioned that some wrestlers were not comfortable with writing their own material but there was no o..

KB’s Review: She’s ALMOST Done

It’s time for your weekly reminder that WWE isn’t doing very well at the moment. The problems have been going on so long at the moment that it can be a little difficult to keep up interest, but every now and then you see something that draws you back in. Unfortunately that seems to be a waste of time more often than not, as WWE is going to manage to screw things up one way or another. This week, we’re taking a look at one such case, and how it might be getting even worse. Back in June, Nikki Cross debuted a new character, which would eventually be dubbed Nikki Ash: Almost a Superhero. Ash would go on to win the Money in the Bank briefcase, cash it in on Charlotte, and win the Women’s Title in a nice moment. Then Charlotte won it back about a month later because Charlotte, so Ash went on to win the Women’s Tag Team Titles with Rhea Ripley and promptly did nothing with them, leading to losing the titles and a losing streak that has (at least as of when I’m writing this part) most recent..

WATCH: WWE Star Releases Brand New Music Video

It’s another career. Wrestlers are often left in a weird place after their careers end, as they still have a lot of working years left. With wrestling careers often ending in a wrestler’s early 40s, they need to find another career for after their wrestling days are over. Some wrestlers have done this just fine, and one in particular is still working on something completely outside of wrestling. Monday Night Raw star R-Truth has released a music video for his new song Legacy. According to the song’s official description, the song focuses on the hardships that R-Truth has faced to become a successful wrestler and what he has planned for his future. R-Truth has been writing and recording music for years, including What’s Up, which he has used as his theme song for several years. He’s pretty good at this. Check out some of R-Truth’s music: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: I’ve ne..

WRESTLING RUMORS: WWE’s Interest In Braun Strowman Returning

I guess that’s a no. There have been all kinds of roster moves in WWE over the last few months, with several wrestlers leaving the company in large groups. Some of these names have been a lot more surprising than others but it has certainly been a huge change for the company. There were some names that surprised a lot of fans and now one of them seems to be trying to get back in. According to Ringsidenews.com, Braun Strowman has been trying to get his job back in WWE following his release from the company in June, but WWE has no interest in bringing him back. During the WWE Draft earlier this month, the writing teams for Monday Night Raw and SmackDown were asked if there was any interest in bringing Strowman back and both said no. Strowman is said to be the only one with interest on a return, as WWE does not want to bring him back. Strowman was a force in WWE. Check out his time with the company: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] ..

Til We Meet Again: AEW Writing Off Legend For The Time Being

It was fun while it lasted. AEW has built up an impressive roster over its still rather short existence. The promotion has a nice mixture of rookies, established named and veterans, which add up to quite the entertaining lineup. Sometimes you need some more well known names to help boost up the younger ones, though AEW is going to be losing one such older name for the time being. Last week on AEW Rampage, Andrade El Idolo attacked his associate Chavo Guerrero, leaving him to be taken out by Pac. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the angle was designed to write Guerrero off of AEW television as he will be returning to work as the wrestling coordinator on the NBC series Young Rock. Guerrero was always scheduled to leave soon after All Out but will be back when Young Rock finishes filming its second season. Guerrero certainly is a star. Check out some of his better moments from around the wrestling world: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains vid..

Really Cool Detail On CM Punk’s AEW Debut

That’s very him. We are officially done with one of the biggest wrestling weekends of the year and arguably the biggest story of the weekend was CM Punk making his AEW debut. It was a very emotional moment and included one of the greatest reactions that you will ever see. Part of that was due to a special bonus that Punk threw in, and now we know a pretty cool detail about what happened. At the end of Punk’s speech, he announced that everyone in the United Center was going to get a free ice cream bar on the way out of the arena. Ice cream was indeed provided for everyone in the arena, with over 15,000 fans in attendance. The ice cream came in a special wrapper and were provided by Pretty Cool Ice Cream. The company has now offered a little more information about the whole thing. In a post on Instagram, Pretty Cool Ice Cream has revealed a few details about the ice cream. Punk did in fact pay for the ice cream himself, personally writing the check to the ice cream company. This has be..

WWE Has Plans To Push This Re-Signed Star

The future is bright. One of the things that almost every wrestling fan does at one point or another is fantasy book. There is something fun about writing out your own ideas and seeing what kind of shows and matches you would put together. WWE does the same thing, and it can be interesting to see what they come up with, as well as who they choose to push. Now we know a bit more about someone they want getting the next shot. According to Fightful Select, WWE is planning to push Roderick Strong as a focal point in NXT, with a focus on helping to boost the Cruiserweight division. Strong returned from a hiatus in June as part of the Diamond Mine, followed by winning a match over Asher Hale. During his time away from NXT television, Strong signed a new deal with the company, which has been the case with other missing wrestlers in recent memory. Strong is worth the effort. Check out what NXT is focusing on: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to pl..
