Triple H And Trish Stratus Had Lengthy Meeting Before Raw This Week

Clearing things up. It had been previously reported that WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus was backstage at Raw this past week and was expected to be on the show. However, that ended up not happening, and Stratus left the arena before the end of the show. According to a report from Ringside News, Stratus had a long meeting with Triple H was and then her participation in the show changed after that. It is unknown whether she was angry about the situation and any report saying there was an “issue with creative” cannot be substantiated. Trish Stratus was backstage for #WWERAW this week. We were able to also confirm that she was "in a meeting" with Triple H "for a while," and then her participation in the show changed after that. — H Jenkins Of Ringside News (@HJenkinsWrites) February 22, 2023 From our own Thomas Hall: Becky Lynch announced her intentions of challenging Damage Ctrl for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles. Lita then came to the ring and was announced as Lynch’s partner for t..

WRESTLING RUMORS: WWE Nixed Huge WrestleMania Main Event, May Try It Later

It kind of writes itself. There are certain groups of wrestlers who might not be officially recognized together on screen but have a real connection. That was the case with the Kliq and the Bone Street Krew, but it is also the case in modern wrestling. Sometimes this spills over onto television as well and it almost did again in a major way on the biggest show of the year. According to Louis Dangoor of GiveMeSport, WWE considered a fatal four way match between Charlotte, Sasha Banks, Becky Lynch and Bayley, collectively known as the Four Horsewomen, for WrestleMania 38. However, the plan was scrapped primarily because of Ronda Rousey, who decided she was ready to return to WWE and was put in a WrestleMania title match instead. In addition, the feud between Lynch and Bianca Belair is also scheduled to end in their title match at WrestleMania. WWE is still interested in running the match at some point in the future. Opinion: This really is one of those matches that writes itself and I ..

Details On Vince McMahon’s Monday Night Raw Changes

Are you really surprised? Vince McMahon is the undisputed king of all things professional wrestling and has been for a very long time now. Whether you like him or not, there is no denying that he is the ultimate power in the sport and can do just about anything he wants. If he makes a decision there isn’t much that can be done to change his mind and that was the case again this week. There are a lot of problems with the current WWE system and they have been around for a very long time. Above all else, the television show is not always the most coherent or air tight and a lot of that comes from the massive rewrites that tend to take place. Most of these are ordered by McMahon and that was the case again this week, though it was a little worse than usual. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, McMahon made several changes to the show throughout the day over the phone and then made even more upon arriving at the Amway Center for the broadcast. McMahon made it to the arena at around 7:00..

Britt Baker Possibly Injured On AEW Dynamite

That might not be good. You never know when you are going to see someone get injured in wrestling. It is one of the worst parts of wrestling but there is no way around the possibility. With wrestling being a physical sport, the threat of an injury is always there, no matter how safe a wrestler may be. Somewhere along the lines, almost everyone gets hurt and it might have been the case again this week. In its still rather brief existence, AEW has had few greater success stories than Britt Baker. It is an idea that sounds perfectly simple: Baker is a young, talented wrestler who also happens to be a practicing dentist. That is the kind of story that writes itself, but Baker never really took off until she turned heel and then it was off to the races. However, that race might be delayed due to an injury. During this week’s Dynamite, Baker seemed to be injured during a tag team match. While teaming with Nyla Rose against Hikaru Shida and Kris Stadtlander, Rose was slammed on Baker’s leg ..

SmackDown Live’s Paige Is Again The Subject Of Online Nude Leaks

Not again… SmackDown Live General Manager Paige is yet again the victim of an online celebrity video leak, according to Ringside News. Time and time again we have seen Paige become the victim of online video leaks. These pictures and videos have shown herself engaging in sexual acts with former WWE Superstar Brad Maddox, Xavier Woods of The New Day and another unidentified man. The latest set of leaks reportedly includes three new clips, all of which show the three men mentioned above in addition to Paige. It also brings the total time of footage to an hour, as Ringside News writes. In the past, Paige has been open about the leaks. She has said on Chasing Glory with Lilian Garcia that she almost contemplated suicide in dealing with the leaks: “That scarred me. People invading my privacy to the point where I don’t even want to go out because people are looking at me bad. I was out yesterday with my friends and this guy goes up to my friend and says ‘that’s the porn star, I j—ed off to..

Elias Discusses His Love of Playing the Guitar, His Songs, WrestleMania

Elias was recently interviewed by Guitar World, where he discussed a number of topics. Among them were his love of playing the guitar and music in general, the songs he writes every week, WrestleMania and more. “The drifter” has most recently been in a mini-feud with Braun Strowman, but also recently wrote a song for “Woken” Matt Hardy. You can see a clip of that song below: [This post contains video, click to play] Below are some questions from the interview, along with Elias’ answers: When did you first start playing guitar? When I was 15, I got super into Eric Clapton. My father took notice of this and got me a guitar for Christmas. What was that first guitar? I’m going to say the brand was a [Yamaha] Pacifica electric kit for learning guitar. Once I had enough knowledge of guitar, that’s when I branched out to Fender, which is a favorite brand of mine, and so on. Every week on-air, you perform a different original song. Do you feel pressure to come up with new material all..

Bischoff on Wrestling Recap – Working as a Guest Referee, Bret Hart in WCW, Why Was Bischoff Hired in TNA? More!

<p>Bischoff is joined on today’s show by his co-host Nick Hausman. Today’s show will be a question and answer session with Bischoff.</p><p>One listener writes into the show and asks Bischoff what he considers to be the new key performance indicator for professional wrestling, since television ratings are starting to become out of date. Bischoff thinks that’s a great question and he’s not really sure if the answer. There’s no denying that television ratings were his main consideration in WCW in the late 90s, but today’s promotions don’t seem to be nearly as motivated by ratings alone.</p><p>Another listener asks Bischoff if he thinks finishing <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/tag/moves/" title="moves">moves</a></strong> are beginning to become obsolete. Bischoff says that the <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/tag/style/" title="style">style</a></strong> of professional wrestling that we see today requires different things from the performers, and finishing moves aren’t nearly as ‘effective’ as they have been in years prior. Fans seem to enjoy multiple false finishes in matches, and this devalues finishing moves. He believes the devaluation of finishing moves is a result of the change in the in-ring product over the last two decades.</p><p></p><p>The next listener asks Bischoff what it was like to be a guest referee. Bischoff says that he hated it, and he always felt very uncomfortable. Being a professional wrestling referee is an art within itself, and it takes a lot of time and practice in order to master. He points out that a good referee does more than count to 3, they direct the match and are as important to the match’s execution as the two talents involved.</p>

Important Questions That Smackdown Should Answer

<p>This week’s Smackdown got a few gears going shortly after Money in the Bank. <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/lana" title="Lana">Lana</a></strong> and <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/naomi" title="Naomi">Naomi</a></strong> look to be fighting again. Daniel Bryan returned, and then he stripped Carmella of the Money in the Bank briefcase and scheduled a rematch for next week. Good for the women.</p><p>Meanwhile, Jinder continues to reign as the WWE Champion (30 days and counting!), and the Hype Brothers Bros asked for the title shot that they rightfully earned. Daniel Bryan, for some reason, decided not to give them their title opportunity, but forced them to earn it again. This will most likely lead to shenanigans from the Usos to get Zack and Mojo out of the title picture.</p><p>Still, this week left us me with more questions than answers. Here are three of those questions that I feel need to be asked.</p><h4>Is Smackdown Doing Randy v. Jinder III?</h4><p></p><p>If I’m going to be honest, their last two matches have hardly managed to set the world on fire. There are certain duos in the ring who will always have excellent chemistry. Okada – Omega, Styles – Ambrose, Owens – Zayn, Punk – Cena, Orton – Christian, etc. Unfortunately, Orton – Mahal is not one of those pairings.</p><p>Mahal wrestles a rather pedestrian style, and Orton is a tricky guy to have chemistry with. A lot of talented wrestlers just don’t really click with Orton. It happens. So why are they continuing the feud between Orton and Mahal?</p><p>Let’s even look at it from a kayfabe perspective. Orton lost his rematch. Why should he get another match? He could feasibly earn it again in a match, but they didn’t do that. Randy just said he was gonna RKO a bunch of Indians to get revenge on Jinder.</p><p>Then there’s Baron Corbin waiting in the shadows with his Money in the Bank contract. While he is exactly the type of guy to cash in on Jinder, it’s highly unlikely that they’ll have a heel cash in on a heel. What I’m trying to say is that there is going to be a lot of change in the WWE title scene, but we don’t know what’s going to happen.</p><h4>Where on God’s Green Earth Is Rusev?</h4><p></p><p>This is a question that many people have been asking since last month. <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/rusev" title="Rusev">Rusev</a></strong> demanded a title match at Money in the Bank, but then he was conveniently forgotten. Of course we all found out that Rusev was only medically cleared like last week, and then we all thought “cool. Maybe he’ll be at Money in the Bank.” Nope. Instead, we got Mike and Maria Kannelis, who, don’t get me wrong, are a cool and welcome addition to the Smackdown roster, but they’re not Rusev. So where on God’s green earth is Rusev?</p><p>They clearly had something before he got injured. He had beef with Mahal for some reason. I’m not entirely sure why because to be honest, there was a period of time where I stopped watching Raw completely and only watched Smackdown. But I know they had a squabble.</p><p>The story really writes itself. Rusev could’ve helped Jinder retain at Money in the Bank, and then turn on Jinder so he could get the WWE Championship. Or have Rusev return and attack Jinder, because they have unfinished business.</p><p>Rusev is one of the best performers on the roster today, so Smackdown should find a way to put him on the show.</p><h4>How Far Will Smackdown Go with the Kevin Owens Open Challenge?</h4><p></p><p>I like the idea of the Open Challenge. It helps the image of a fighting champion who is looking for competition and looking to prove himself. It also showcases the skills of often overlooked superstars, and makes them look like they want the gold.</p><p>This week, Owens defended the US title against Chad Gable in a pretty good match. Gable returned from doing absolutely nothing the last few months, while Jason Jordan got exactly 10 seconds of screen time. While I like the idea of the Open Challenge, there’s still AJ Styles hanging around in the title picture.</p><p>Was this Open Challenge a one-time thing? I think it’s a potentially great idea to have Styles keep answering the challenge and Owens repeatedly denying him and defending it against someone else. Of course, that’s just me, and surely there’s some sort of flaw that I don’t see.</p><p>So how far will Smackdown take the Open Challenge? When will Styles and Owens face off again?</p>

Dinner with the King Recap – Great Balls of Fire Insight, Advice for Wannabe Wrestlers, Who Had the Best ‘Puppies’ in WWE? More!

<p>Lawler is joined on today’s show by his co-host Glenn Moore.</p><p>Lawler informs that he appeared at the Comicon in Washington, DC this past weekend. He says that he had a great time there and he was able to see a lot of old friends. WWE Superstars Charlotte Flair and Nakamura even made an appearance on Saturday.</p><p></p><p>A listener writes into the show and asks Lawler which current WWE Superstar would fit well in Memphis Wrestling back in the day. Lawler says that he worked as the top babyface in Memphis for a long time, so their goal was always to find big, strong heels to work against him. Guys like Kamala and <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/bam-bam-bigelow" title="Bam Bam Bigelow">Bam Bam Bigelow</a></strong> fit that mould.</p><p>In that sense, there are a number of guys in WWE today that would work out well in Memphis. Lawler says that they would have made a lot of money with someone like <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/brock-lesnar" title="Brock Lesnar">Brock Lesnar</a></strong> in Memphis back in the day. They could also do wonders with talents such as Baron Corbin, Bray Wyatt and of course <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/braun-strowman" title="Braun Strowman">Braun Strowman</a></strong>.</p>

Five Potential Opponents for Kurt Angle

<p>Rumours have surfaced this week that Kurt Angle’s current storyline is going to result in a match-up between Kurt Angle and <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/triple-h" title="Triple H">Triple H</a></strong> somewhere down the line.</p><p>While from a storyline point of view, this definitely makes the most sense, the rumour has been met with a mixed response from the WWE audience. Fans have dreamed of an Angle return for years and a match with Triple H was never near the top of their wish-list.</p><p>Angle’s return to the ring is really a case of if and not when, but fans would much rather see him do battle with a younger star or a more active one at the very least.  With that in mind, let’s take a look at 5 potential opponents for Kurt Angle who would be a better option than Triple H.</p><p><strong></strong><strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/brock-lesnar" title="Brock Lesnar">Brock Lesnar</a></strong> </p><p></p><p>Okay, so I know that Brock is no spring chicken himself these days and that this match has been seen plenty of times before in the WWE. The last time these two wrestled, though, things were very different. Both stars have changed a lot since their last match and the two could no doubt produce something just as special as their old matches but still manage to add something new and exciting to it.</p><p>The two also share an amazing chemistry in the ring,  the kind that only really comes around once in a generation. Having the two square off would also <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/tag/prove/" title="prove">prove</a></strong> to be box office gold for the company, with both men being household names around the world.</p><p>In terms of setting this up- a feud between a GM desperate to keep his job, and a champion who just refuses to perform really shouldn’t be too difficult to get off the ground- add in the pair’s history and this one pretty much writes itself.</p>

WWE NXT TakeOver: Chicago Live Results – May 20 2017

<p>Welcome to NXT TakeOver: Chicago!</p><p>For the past several months, the general feeling has been that NXT had lost a little something with so many talents leaving and few stars being made in their wake. Last months NXT TakeOver: Orlando was a very good show but definitely a transitional one. Tonight in Chicago however, all the places have fallen in place and NXT is set to have its best show of the year.</p><p>NXT Champion, Bobby Roode, has reigned supreme since defeating Shinsuke Nakamura. There were a number of viable contender’s to Roode’s title, from Kassius Ohno and Roderick Strong, to Drew McIntyre and Eric Young. However it was the returning Hideo Itami who staked his claim as next-in-line. Itami has had a rough tenure in NXT thus far, having been injured for the majority of that time, but tonight looks set to be his crowning. Roode has been a great Champion so far but the time feels right for Hideo to finally assert himself as the man in NXT.</p><p>Asuka is still undefeated! The Empress has been undefeated since her debut in NXT, and this is an amazing fact that WWE doesn’t play-up enough. Asuka has had a personality change as of late and she’s so much fun to watch. Tonight’s match was originally a Fatal 4-Way with Ember Moon, Nikki Cross, and Ruby Riot, however Moon injured her arm and was forced out of the match. So we’re set for a Triple Threat match for the NXT Women’s Championship and Asuka’s streak is once again on the line. This should be a great match but I would like to see Asuka retain again. Nikki Cross and Ruby Riot are more focused on killing each other, than they are the title, so I think it would make sense for Asuka to retain and look towards a new challenge. Maybe Asuka will face Ember Moon again, or maybe, and more exciting if you ask me, she will be challenged by NXT’s newest signee: Io Shirai. This Japanese phenomenon has wrestled for Lucha Underground and she would make for an amazing opponent for Asuka; imagine Asuka’s face when a rising talent from Japan comes to challenge her as she did several years ago, the story writes itself.</p><p>Next up we have the NXT Tag Team Championship match between D.I.Y and The Author’s of Pain. These two teams have been doing battles for months and tonight is set to be an end-cap on their rivalry, as they square-off in the first-ever NXT tag team ladder match! As is customary for D.I.Y, this match is expected to be an off-the-charts affair that blows the roof off of the All-State Arena in Chicago. We had a scare over the past 24 hours as Tommaso Ciampa was injured at a live event, however he has been cleared to compete and will look to win back the NXT Tag Team Championships with his partner, Johnny Gargano!</p><p>Another match on tonight’s card see’s the United Kingdom Championship be defended, as Pete Dunne challenges <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/tyler-bate" title="Tyler Bate">Tyler Bate</a></strong>. This match comes hot-off the heels of the first episode of the WWE UK show, in which Dunne defeated Trent Seven to become number one contender, and Bate overcame <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/mark-andrews" title="Mark Andrews">Mark Andrews</a></strong> in an insane match. Dunne and Bate were the two finalists of the United Kingdom Tournament, which saw Bate crowned as the first-ever UK Champion, and tonight we get the rematch. This match has all the makings of an instant-classic.</p><p>Elsewhere on the card tonight, Roderick Strong takes-on Eric Young in a bid to destroy Sanity once and for all. Strong has had a renaissance since WWE aired the 2-part series looking at his difficult life. Can he do what <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/tye-dillinger" title="Tye Dillinger">Tye Dillinger</a></strong> never could, and finally take-out the head of the beast? I expect at least one more match to take place on tonight’s show, possible a women’s match, or Aleister Black.</p><p>NXT TakeOver: Chicago begins at 8 PM ET, with the half-hour pre-show beginning at 7:30 PM. Which match are you most excited for? Let us know in the comments, be sure to check out the awesome Ringside News app, and enjoy the show!</p>
