One of the main questions that has risen is the wrestling future, particularly when it comes to AEW. That question was answered today on Instagram Live, where Nikki confirmed that her and her sister would not be going to AEW. But who will be the one to induct Mysterio? According to a report from Dave Meltzer, former WCW superstar Konnan will do the honors of bringing Mysterio into the Hall of Fame. From Wrestling News: Konnan was the most obvious choice because they have been close for decades, dating back to Rey and Konnan’s early days in the wrestling business. This might be Konnan’s first appearance at a major WWE event. Konnan wrestled briefly as Max Moon on non-televised matches in 1992 but those matches never aired and he left the company before the character debuted on TV with Paul Diamond playing the role. Welcome home. According to reports from PWInsider and Wrestling News, William Regal is finalizing a deal to officially return to WWE in the new year. This is after previous reports surfaced that he was officially done with AEW and that he will not renew his contract when it expires this month. Regal has being in AEW since March of this year, when he debuted at their Revolution pay-per-view. He has primarily been associated with the Blackpool Combat Club since this time with the company; however, he allied himself with MJF at the recent Full Gear pay-per-view. Regal provided MJF with some brass knuckles, which he used to defeat Jon Moxley, and become the new AEW world heavyweight champion. However, on this past week’s episode of dynamite, MJF would turn on Regal, knocking him out with those same brass knuckles and effectively writing him off of television. While the company has presented WarGames matches in NXT, they have never been held between main roster stars. That is quite the change of pace and it turns out there is a very unique reason for the matches taking place. NXT superstar Roxanne Perez made her main roster debut this past week on Smackdown, teaming with Shotzi and Raquel Rodriguez to take on Bayley, Dakota Kai, and Iyo Sky of Damage Control. There are a variety of ways to get fans’ attention on wrestling, many of which involve changing up a wrestler’s appearance. That explains a bit. Every so often you see a wrestling performance that defies all logic and abilities, as you might not know how someone is able to do what they pull off in the ring. That was the case this weekend as a wrestler worked through one of the most gruesome injuries that you will likely remember for a very long time. Now we know a bit more about how it happened. At Hell In A Cell, Cody Rhodes defeated Seth Rollins in the show’s main event, which was held inside the show’s title structure. Rhodes wrestled the match despite having torn his pectoral muscle earlier in the week. According to Wrestlingnews.co, Rhodes was allowed to wrestle the match because he could not cause any more damage. However, some spots, including a moonsault, were removed from the match. The reasoning for why Cody was cleared to wrestle is because he can’t do more damage to his completely torn pec. The company has only been around for a few years now and the company has managed to build up quite the group of stars and a strong fan base. A lot of that is due to fans getting attached to some of the wrestlers, but now it seems that one of the longer standing names might have departed the company. Welcome back? The biggest wrestling news of the week has been the departure of Cody and Brandi Rhodes from AEW. The move came out of nowhere as Cody is one of the company’s founding fathers. Now that the two have left though, the question becomes where they might be heading next. It seems like we might have an idea and odds are you are not going to be surprised. According to PWInsider.com, WWE has had discussions with the Rhodes family and the two sides are close to coming to an agreement. While there has been no agreement made, it is expected that Cody could be at the Performance Center as early as this weekend to prepare for a quick return. This has led to excitement backstage in WWE as Cody would be expected to have knowledge of the inner workings of AEW, which could help WWE’s strategy.
