BREAKING: WWE Possibly Vacates NXT Women’s Title, New Champion To Be Crowned

Hang it up. There are all kinds of titles under the WWE umbrella and holding one of them can make all the difference in the world. A title reign can change the way a wrestler’s career goes and losing a title can mark quite the fork in the road. Fall and pray. This past weekend, Scarlett competed in a WWE ring for the first time on the main roster. She and Karrion Kross battled the team of Emma and Madcap Moss in a tag team match at a live event in Wheeling, West Virginia. Scarlett has only been featured as Kross’ valet since their debut with the company in 2020. Go For Gold: Possible Backstage Plans On Upcoming Title Change

They have a plan. Titles can be a tricky concept in wrestling, as while they are supposed to be held by the top star or stars in a division, there can be some problems with keeping things in order. This might be the case if a title has to be vacated, meaning a new champion never beat the old one. That is the case again in NXT, but it seems they have a plan for it. Earlier this month, Cora Jade turned on Roxanne Perez before vacating her half of the NXT Women’s Tag Team Titles. Perez forfeited her title the next week, meaning new champions are needed. A four way match for the titles has been announced and according to Wrestling Observer Radio, Ivy Nile and Tatum Paxley are being discussed as possible winners, though this is not set in stone. The other teams involved in the match are Toxic Attraction, Katana Chance/Kayden Carter and Yulisa Leon/Valentina Feroz. The title match is set for August 2. They’re Done: AEW Team Split, Team Seems To Be Turning To The Other Side

Breaking up is hard to do. There are a lot of wrestlers on the AEW roster and it can be difficult to keep track of what they are all doing. Sometimes it is easier to put them together in various groups and that is what a lot of the wrestlers have done over the years. That can make for some interesting moments, but now we had something else take place as one group is no longer a thing. This week’s edition of AEW Dynamite saw the Gunn Club and the Acclaimed defeat Ruffin It and Fuego del Sol in an eight man tag. The match ended when Max Caster hit the Mic Drop on Bear Bronson but Austin Gunn stole the pin. Following the match, the winners brawled, drawing in Billy Gunn to break up the fight. Billy then turned on the Acclaimed and left them laying before walking away with his sons. Opinion: This is one of those things that needed to happen and it makes sense for the change to take place. At the end of the day, if AEW wants the Acclaimed to be cheered, it didn’t make sense to have them t..

NXT Date: June 28, 2022 Location: Capitol Wrestling Center, Orlando, Florida Commentators: Wade Barrett, Vic Joseph It’s the go home show for the Great American Bash and that means it is time for the big push towards the show. Most of the card is already set, including the NXT Title match main event, so we should be in for a good one. Odds are we get a little more from Legado del Fantasma and the D’Angelo Family, even if the Family is now down a member. Let’s get to it. Katana Chance/Kayden Carter vs. Roxanne Perez/Cora Jade The winners get a Tag Team Title shot next week. Cora and Carter start things off with a lockup until Jade grabs a wristlock. That’s broken up and Jade is sent into the corner, setting off a chop exchange. Chance comes in and rolls Jade down, allowing her to get in a smiling pose. NXT In Your House 2022 Date: June 4, 2022 Location: Capitol Wrestling Center, Orlando, Florida Commentators: Wade Barrett, Vic Joseph We’re back with another special show as NXT gets in on another WWE pay per view weekend. This time around they’re dusting off another classic with In Your House, which has very little to do with what we’ll be seeing. The card is fairly short but there are five titles being defended, making it pretty stacked at the same time. Let’s get to it. The opening video is based on the old In Your House intros, complete with Todd Pettingill doing the voiceover to run down the card. Backstage Confusion In WWE Over Money In The Bank Plans

That might not be what they meant. There are several events that regularly take place on the WWE calendar and some of them are among the most important shows of the year. Some of the shows have a very specific theme to them and that is the case with a show that is coming up sooner rather than later. However, the show’s namesake matches might be a little more confusing this year. Earlier this month, WWE aired a commercial for July’s Money In The Bank event, which suggested that the winners of the show’s namesake matches would receive title shots at WrestleMania 39. The change was not clarified, but the original version of the commercial aired three times during the week. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, there is no definitive answer backstage in WWE regarding the ladder matches. NXT UK Date: May 12, 2022 Location: BT Sports Studios, London, England Commentators: Andy Shepherd, Nigel McGuinness It’s a big time show this week as we have the 200th episode (though that doesn’t seem to be the case if you actually count them up). Counting issues aside, we have a big main event as United Kingdom Champion Ilja Dragunov is defending against Jordan Devlin in a title match that is also Loser Leaves Town. Let’s get to it. Fill Those Brackets: WWE Announces First Time Ever Tournament

They’re an easy idea. Tournaments are one of the easiest things that a wrestling promotion can put together. It’s such a simple concept, as a bunch of wrestlers are put into a bracket of some kind and the last wrestler or team standing wins a prize. There might be a theme to the whole thing and that seems to be the case again as NXT is bringing back one of their concepts, but with a twist. This week, NXT announced the first ever Women’s Breakout Tournament, which will focus on women who have either not yet debuted or have not wrestled many matches. While no prize was announced, winners of the previous men’s editions of the tournament have earned a title shot. Open the envelope. At some point or another, any and every wrestling fan has discussed the best and worst of wrestling with someone else. It might have been over the best wrestler, the best match, the best move or vice versa, but it is something that almost everyone does. Now it has happened again, with fans getting a way in who is officially the best. AEW announced its 2021 AEW Awards this weekend, with twelve awards being presented. The awards covered the best of AEW in 2021, including debuts, matches, promos, breakout stars and more. Big Shakeup To NXT Stand & Deliever Card, Plus Grudge Match Added

Time for the NXT shakeup. WWE does a lot of things right but there are some areas where they might need to improve a bit. One of these things is changing up matches and plans that have already been established and even advertised. That seems to be the case again, as a title match set for an upcoming show has expanded in a big way that hasn’t been done before. This week’s NXT featured the finals of the Women’s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. Kay Lee Ray and Io Shirai won the tournament, earning a shot at the Women’s Tag Team Titles. However, Ray and Shirai announced that they would instead be adding themselves to the Women’s Title match at Stand & Deliver, where Mandy Rose is scheduled to defend against Cora Jade. This is the first time that the winners of the Dusty Classic will be challenging for a singles title. AEW Interested In Introducing New Titles With One Condition

That might be what’s next. Titles are some of the most important things in all of wrestling as they are the perfect ground work for a feud. The winner (or winners) of a match getting a shiny gold belt (or belts) is a fine way to go and something that is still regularly used today. Sometimes you need a new one though and that might be the case soon, albeit after one other thing happens. AEW President Tony Khan held a media call this week and revealed that the company is interested in introducing trios titles, albeit not until Kenny Omega returns from injuries. Trios titles have been rumored for AEW since the company’s inception but nothing has ever been made official. There is no word on when Omega will be returning to the ring as he recovers from several surgeries. So that’s up next. We are past the Royal Rumble and are on our way to WrestleMania 38. That means the company needs to be build up in a hurry and thanks to the Royal Rumble, WWE has a leg up on getting towards the WrestleMania card. This includes setting up a pair of title challengers but the Royal Rumble winners need to pick which champions they want to face. Now both of those have been covered. This week’s SmackDown featured the announcement that Ronda Rousey would challenge Charlotte for the SmackDown Women’s Title at WrestleMania 38. Charlotte and Sonya Deville had been in the ring before Rousey arrived, where Deville announced that Rousey would be challenging Raw Women’s Champion Becky Lynch. Charlotte said that should would defend against Sasha Banks instead before Rousey appeared to challenge Charlotte instead. Welcome back. The Royal Rumble is a lot of things, and one of the most important is a way to bring back former wrestlers. With sixty spots to fill over two matches, there are a lot of places to bring back wrestlers who have not been around for a long time. It can be even better if it is someone who has had some success in WWE before, and that might be the case with a surprise return. According to Fightful Select, there is a belief among some wrestlers backstage that Asuka will be making her return to action at the Royal Rumble. However, this has not been confirmed and is still seen as speculation. Asuka has not wrestled since Money in the Bank in July due to an injury and it is not known if she has been medically cleared to return to the ring yet. Opinion: That would be a pretty awesome moment as Asuka is one of the better wrestlers in all of WWE. There are still several steps left to cover though and the Royal Rumble is one of the biggest. The show has been around for thirty four years now and we will be seeing another edition soon. However, there is still time to take a look back at Rumbles past. WWE has released its annual Rumble By The Numbers video.
