Up And Down: WWE Gets Some Good News And AEW Gets Some Bad News

They could use it. WWE has been all over the place in recent months and that should not be surprising. Things have been changing both in front of and behind the camera, especially in the front office. While this has not caused a major change in the on-screen product, it has been taking place at the same time as something different in the arenas. This time around, it is some good news. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, WWE has seen an upswing in ticket sales in recent weeks. While the numbers are not up huge, there is a stronger demand for tickets in cities like New York City and Houston. There is no word on what is causing the ticket sales to increase. At the same time, AEW ticket sales have been down, which is credited to a combination of injuries taking away star power and revisiting markets without much time in between shows. Opinion: The AEW numbers make sense, but the WWE numbers are a bit confusing. At the end of the day, WWE does not have much going on at the moment, with..

Former And Current WWE Names Backstage At This Week’s AEW Dynamite

I know you! WWE and AEW are the two most popular and successful wrestling promotions in the United States and nothing else is really in the same ballpark at the moment. The company features some of the biggest names in wrestling, but there are several who are not working for either company right now. Some of those names were backstage at AEW this week, along with a current WWE star. According to Fightful Select, several former WWE names, plus a current WWE star, were backstage at this week’s AEW Dynamite. Dolph Ziggler was backstage visiting friends, as well as his brother Ryan Nemeth. In addition, CJ Perry (formerly known as Lana) was backstage with her husband Miro, along with Renee Paquette (formerly known as Renee Young), with her husband Jon Moxley. None of the names were mentioned on the broadcast and there is nothing to suggest that any are coming to AEW. Opinion: This isn’t much of a surprise as all three of the names have family working for AEW. It is nice to see some of the..

Keep On Going: Lita Reveals Her Future WWE Plans

It’s not on the cards. We are in the middle of WWE’s busiest season as the company is on the Road to WrestleMania 38. That means there is a lot of work to be done as WWE tries to get ready for their biggest shows of the year. Some of those adjustments involve a lot of work but WWE tends to know how to pull them off. In this case, it means wrapping up a story for a certain visiting legend. Lita made her return to WWE back at the Royal Rumble in January. The following week on Monday Night Raw, she challenged Becky Lynch for a Raw Women’s Title match at Elimination Chamber, which has since been made official. During an interview with Sports Illustrated, Lita revealed that there are currently no plans for her to continue with WWE after the match. There is still a chance for that to change though. Opinion: I’m not entirely surprised by this, as I don’t think Lita was exactly a heavy favorite to take the title from Lynch. That doesn’t leave Lita with much to do at WrestleMania or beyond, s..

Hulk Hogan Reportedly Undergoing Serious Health Issues

He’s a big one. There are legends in the wrestling world and then there is Hulk Hogan. While the last few years have not seen him painted in the best light due to some rather bad decisions, Hogan is still one of the biggest stars in the history of wrestling and the reason a lot of fans watch today. He still draws some interest today and now it seems that things are not going so well for him. During the debut episode of his Wooooo Nation Uncensored podcast, Ric Flair revealed that Hulk Hogan is undergoing some serious health issues. While Flair did not elaborate on what was wrong, he did talk about how the two support each other, including Hogan visiting Flair while he was in a coma in 2017. There is no word on what is wrong with Hogan, though he has had several back surgeries over there years. Flair and Hogan have a longstanding history. Monday Night Raw Star Backstage At NXT

Maybe he’s scouting. NXT is the official WWE developmental territory, which can go a long way in determining WWE’s future. Above all else, the show is designed to help find the future stars of the promotion, which has a lot to do with the level of coaching NXT offers. You need some wise wrestlers to help offer their expertise, and that is what might have been happening this week. According to Fightful Select, Monday Night Raw’s MVP was backstage at this week’s NXT taping. There is no word on if he was there for a specific reason or just visiting friends. MVP was originally brought back to WWE in 2020 as a part time wrestler and producer but has mainly served as an on air manager. MVP is currently managing WWE Champion Bobby Lashley. MVP has a small history with NXT. Check out some of his time there and what he has been doing lately: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: While I’m n..

Major Sports Celebrity Backstage At WWE WrestleMania Backlash

From the other side. The World Title means more than any other accomplishment in professional wrestling, at least in theory. The title has been the symbol of excellence in wrestling since the concept began and that is not likely to change for a very long time. There are other World Titles outside of WWE though, and this time they had another sport’s World Champion at one of their events. WWE has tweeted out a photo of World Heavyweight Boxing Champion Tyson Fury backstage at this weekend’s WrestleMania Backlash event. The photos show Fury and his son posing with Rey Mysterio and Vince McMahon. There is no word on if Fury was backstage at the event for any specific reason or if he and his son were simply there visiting. Fury has a history in WWE, having appeared on the debut episode of SmackDown on FOX. He began a feud with Braun Strowman, ultimately defeating him via countout at Crown Jewel 2019. Drew McIntyre has mentioned wanting to face Fury in a match in the UK at some point, tho..

Other than that though we’re likely in for more build towards Abyss vs. Kongo Kong, because that’s what we need to see. Let’s get to it. In case you need a recap, here are last week’s results. The opening video looks at Ethan Carter III and Tyrus reuniting and then splitting up in very short order. Opening sequence. Ethan Carter III vs. Tyrus Carter runs his mouth (as is his custom) and is promptly shoved out to the floor. Back in and Carter gets shoved outside again as Josh talks about all the other companies they’ll be visiting soon. Carter stalls a lot, including messing with a fan’s phone, before going back in to have his arm cranked. Ch..
