WRESTLING RUMORS: WWE Discusses Brock Lesnar Intercontinental Title Reign

That would be new. We are almost to the start of WrestleMania season and that could make for some interesting developments. As we move towards the biggest show of the year, some of the bigger WWE stars begin making more appearances. That can make for some unique stories and now WWE is at least talking about doing something that has never been done before. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: WATCH: Velveteen Dream Arrest Video Released Earlier this month, a report came out suggesting that Gunther vs. Brock Lesnar was possible for WrestleMania 39. According to Xero News on Twitter, there has been at least some small discussion of having Lesnar defeat Gunther, the reigning Intercontinental Champion, for the title, which would be the first of Lesnar’s career. There are some who feel this would help boost up the midcard titles, as WWE has been attempting to do in recent months. The match has yet to be announced and Gunther and Lesnar have had no interactions. There has been atleast some small talk of..

WATCH: Velveteen Dream Arrest Video Released

A serious situation. Wrestlers portray either heroes or villains in the ring, but that does not mean that they are the same way when the cameras stop rolling. You never know what you might be seeing behind the scenes, but every now and then, a glimpse comes through. Now we can see something else from a former wrestler in a serious situation and it is not the nicest thing. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Upgrade: Road Dogg Explains Changes Coming To NXT Call-Up System Back in August, former NXT star Velveteen Dream was arrested in Orlando, Florida on charges of first degree battery and trespassing. TMZ has released video of Dream being arrested outside of an Orlando fitness center. The video shows Dream yelling at the officers, asking for his phone to call his lawyer and repeating that he had not been read his rights. The case was later dropped with the alleged victim did not wish to press charges. This is a rough sit. Check out the arrest footage: [This post contains video, click to play] ..

Former WWE Star Gets Very Good Legal News

That’s a good step forward. Wrestlers are larger than life characters who are regularly on television doing things that no one else would ever do in regular life. That can make for some rather interesting moments, though that is not the end of what happens to them. There are several things that take place after the cameras stop rolling and now a former wrestler is getting some good news in his personal life. Last month, Patrick Clark, better known as Velveteen Dream, was arrested twice in the span of a week on various charges. However, according to PWInsider.com, the August 20 charges of First Degree Battery and Trespassing have been closed, as a hearing scheduled for September 28 has been canceled. Court records cited a lack of evidence in dropping the charges. Clark was recently released from a 25 day jail sentence for a probation violation stemming from the August 20 charges. Opinion: That is some good news for Clark, but he still has more than enough legal issues to worry about. ..

REVIEW: Halftime Heat 2019: Dusting Off The Classic

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be? Halftime Heat Date: February 3, 2019 Location: WWE Performance Center, Orlando, Florida Commentators: Shawn Michaels, Vic Joseph So since the four hours of content enough yesterday, we’ll take a look at this quick show here, which is comprised of one match from the NXT crew. That’s not the worst idea in the world, and since it’s just a quick thing that isn’t even half an hour, it’s hard to get too annoyed over the whole thing. Let’s get to it. Aleister Black/Velveteen Dream/Ricochet vs. Adam Cole/Johnny Gargano/T..

Velveteen Dream Wants To Return To NXT

I don’t know if I can see it happening. There have been a lot of wrestlers throughout WWE’s history and some of them have reached quite the prominent stature. At the same time, there are far more who are remembered well enough but never quite broke through. Then there are some who are more infamous than famous, and now one of them wants to have another chance. Former NXT star Velveteen Dream has posted to his Instagram Stories, saying that in spite of the allegations against him, he would love to have a career in NXT. Dream said that he was 26, talented and “ready to go the show what it should be”. Dream was released from WWE in May 2021 due to a series of backstage incidents. He was also accused of sexually harassing underage boys, though a WWE investigation found no wrongdoing. Dreamer has denied the allegations against him. Opinion: While Dream is one of the most talented stars to come up through the WWE system in a long time, the type of allegations against him are the kind that..

WWE Allegedly Considered Bringing Back Velveteen Dream (With Some Changes)

That would have been a way to go. With so many wrestlers on the WWE roster over the years, it can be a little difficult for someone to stand out. That can be very tricky for someone on their best day but occasionally someone makes headlines for some less than ideal reasons. That was the case for a rather high profile NXT star, and WWE might have wanted to bring him back anyway. Back in April 2020, Velveteen Dream was accused of inappropriate sexual communication with underage people. WWE investigated the situation but found no evidence to prove the allegations, which Dream still denies. After missing several months due to injuries suffered in an automobile accident, Dream returned for a few months before being let go from the company in May 2021. Dream appeared on a recent edition of the Dishing Drama podcast and revealed that WWE considered bringing him back under a mask without having him speak. He did not make it clear when WWE considered doing this. Dream has not wrestled since h..

Velveteen Dream Booked For Return And Immediately Canceled

Dream off. Every now and then, a wrestler becomes far more infamous than famous. For one reason or another, something bad happens to someone and it becomes a lot bigger than whatever it is that they are going to be doing in the ring. Often times, this is something from outside of the ring, which was the case with a wrestler who almost got back in the ring. On Wednesday, SWF Wrestling announced that former NXT star the Velveteen Dream would be appearing at their September 11 Home Sweet Home event. Later in the same day, the promotion sent out another tweet saying that despite the promotion’s owner, Rob Fury, believing that any man can be slandered for something untrue, Dream will no longer be appearing at the show. Dream was released from WWE earlier this year, following a period of inactivity due to allegations of inappropriate contact with underage fans. WWE said that they had investigated Dream but found no evidence of any wrongdoing. While WWE did not find anything, Dream was rele..

More Details On Velveteen Dream, Backstage Issues Prior To Release

There is more to it than that. Every now and then you hear about someone in wrestling who has quite a bit of baggage with them. This could be anything from legal issues to personal issues to just not being liked backstage for one reason or another. One such wrestler was leg go from WWE earlier this week and now we know a bit more about what happened. Velveteen Dream was released from his NXT contract earlier this week, following a period of inactivity, as well as several sexual misconduct allegations. Since he was released, some stories have come out about his time in the company. According to Wrestling Observer Live, Dream had behavioral issues during his time in NXT, but due to Dream having friends higher up in NXT management, several wrestlers were worried about reporting them. It is likely that Dream was released for these issues, as Triple H said that investigations into the allegations turned up nothing. Dream had not appeared in NXT since December 2020. This does not exactly m..

New Grudge Match Set For NXT Takeover

The card keeps growing. We are just over a week away from NXT Takeover and that means things are starting to come together in a hurry. This time the show is going to be a little bit different though as there are only so many wrestlers available due to a Coronavirus outbreak. NXT still has a pretty deep bench though and some of them are going to be able to make the show. Two more of those names have been confirmed. One area where NXT tends to thrive is building up a feud in the midcard. They have figured out how to take people and a story with little business in a featured role and make it into something fans want to see. That has become a staple of Takeover and it is what we are likely to see again this time around. This one is in the form of a grudge match which has been built up over the last several weeks. WWE has announced that Kushida will meet the Velveteen Dream at Takeover on October 4. This comes after the two have traded attacks on each other, beginning with Dream attacking..

VIDEO: WWE Wrestler Undergoes Gimmick And Name Change

There’s the change. Sometimes in wrestling, including WWE, you need to change someone up. That could come in a variety of forms and some of them are better than others. One of the best ways might be to just change the wrestler’s name. The old name might not be one with the best reputation so just starting from scratch can help. If it is someone you don’t even recognize, it might be even better. While there is a good chance that you don’t regularly watch the show, 205 Live has been doing some nice things in recent weeks. The show basically started from scratch and is building things back up, which means that there are some spots available for fresh talent. One of them has been getting a little somewhere, and now he has appeared on NXT under a new name. During this week’s NXT, 205 Live wrestler Tehuti Miles appeared under the name Ashante “The” Adonis in a loss to Velveteen Dream. Adonis has been wrestling as Miles on 205 Live and occasionally NXT for most of the year, though he has on..

Backstage Heat On Velveteen Dream Over NXT Return

You had to know something like this was coming. The wrestling world is still dealing with the fallout from the SpeakingOut Movement, which shook up the industry in a big way. There were almost no companies without wrestlers being mentioned, with WWE certainly being included. One of the more prominent wrestlers has since returned to television, and it has not been going well. Earlier this week, the Velveteen Dream made his return to NXT in a surprise as the third entrant in a triple threat qualifying match for the Takeover: XXX North American Title ladder match. This was Dream’s first appearance since he was accused of sending sexual messages to underage people. While Dream was never charged with a crime, there was some rather convincing evidence against him. It was a big moment to have him come back, and fans are not pleased. According to Fightful Select, Dream’s return was not revealed to the NXT roster until the night of the television taping. There has been no mention of any punish..

More Details On Velveteen Dream’s Car Accident

Things just keep getting worse. It has been a rough few months for WWE as one bad piece of news keeps coming in after another. First there was the Coronavirus pandemic and then SpeakOut started up, leaving WWE to take hit after hit. Both situations have far more important victims than WWE, and now one person involved nearly got himself in a lot more trouble all over again. One of the biggest WWE names to be mentioned in the SpeakOut movement has been the Velveteen Dream, who has been accused of having a variety of inappropriate conversations with minors. While nothing has been confirmed as of yet and WWE has not made any comment on the situation, it is not clear if Dream will be back on WWE television. It turns out that was almost the case for an entirely different reason. Over the weekend, Dream was involved in a car accident, requiring him to be hospitalized and released. According to Wrestlinginc.com, Dream ran a red light at around 4pm on Friday and hit another car. The driver of..

NXT Results – June 10, 2020

NXT Date: June 10, 2020 Location: WWE Performance Center, Orlando, Florida Commentators: Tom Phillips, Mauro Ranallo, Beth Phoenix We’re done with Takeover: In Your House and the only major change was Io Shirai winning the Women’s Title. Other than that, Adam Cole is still NXT Champion and needs a new challenger. Tonight he faces Dexter Lumis in a match that has me worried. Finn Balor and Keith Lee would seem to be the next big challengers so let’s get to it. Takeover recap. Here’s the Undisputed Era for a chat. Adam Cole talks about how he’s still champion because while Velveteen Dream is a great challenger, but he’s not Adam Cole bay-bay. As for what’s next, what difference does it make? The rest of the team yells about Lumis being weird and stuffing them in a trunk (Strong: “YOU KNOW HOW MUCH I HATE BEING STUFFED IN TRUNKS!”). Strong keeps thinking he seems Lumis in the crowd and Cole is tired of hearing about it. Cole has this tonight, so don’t worry about Lumis. As the team is ..

NXT Results – April 22, 2020

NXT Date: April 22, 2020 Location: Full Sail University, Winter Park, Florida Commentators: Tom Phillips, Byron Saxton We’re at an interesting point here as they are having to come up with some more stories without a full crew. It certainly seems that Adam Cole is gone for the time being, meaning we need to find a way to fill time until Velveteen Dream can challenge him. Dream has something to do tonight though, as he faces Finn Balor. Let’s get to it. Opening recap. Something has happened to Finn Balor in the locker room and he’s out of the match against Dream. Here’s Dream to say new levels and new devils while doing Balor’s finger guns. In his experience, sometimes you are just dealing with the same new demons. Now he has been stood up by a demon….and here Adam Cole to interrupt. A lot of people have been assuming that the winner of Dream and Balor would be the new #1 contender and now Balor is nowhere to be found. Cole knows what Dream is trying to do but he’ll never be the NX..

NXT Results – April 1, 2020

NXT Date: April 1, 2020 Location: Full Sail University, Winter Park, Florida Commentators: Tom Phillips, Sam Roberts It’s a taped show this week and likely will be for a good while to come. This time around we are going to have a rather stacked card, capped off by the triple threat match for the North American Title. Other than that though, all roads lead to next week with the final showdown between Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa. Let’s get to it. The opening recap looks at the triple threat match. Velveteen Dream vs. Bobby Fish Fish kicks away to start but Dream clotheslines him down. A knee drop gets two and there’s a little gyration for a bonus. Back up and Fish kicks him into the corner, only to get popped in the face. A top rope ax handle has Fish in trouble and Dream hammers away in the corner, only to get sent outside. Fish whips him into the barricade and we take a break. Back with Fish kicking the knee out and then kicking away at it even more as you can’t fault his log..

NXT Live Coverage And Results – April 17, 2019

NXT Date: April 17, 2019 Location: Full Sail University, Winter Park, Florida Commentators: Nigel McGuinness, Percy Watson, Mauro Ranallo It’s time to get back home after New York after another incredible Takeover. With last week’s recap edition out of the way, things are back to normal here as we start the long build towards the next Takeover in a few months. The big draw is Johnny Gargano’s first comments as NXT Champion and you can hear the chants from here. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. North American Title: Velveteen Dream vs. Buddy Murphy Dream is defending after asking Murphy where his title was after Wrestlemania. Feeling out process to start with Murphy taking him to the mat in a headlock. Dream is right back with a headlock of his own and it’s a double nipup into a standoff. The Aussie fans are in full strength as Murphy headscissors him to the floor but Dream crawls back in to mess with Murphy’s head. Speaking of heads, Murphy knees Dream in his for two and Dream is..

Rumor: Velveteen Dream Addresses Rumors of Backstage Heat

Over the past few months, the man behind The Velveteen Dream has been really active on social media to the chagrin of NXT and WWE officials. His activity has ruffled some feathers behind the scenes and there have been rumors about him having backstage heat for a while now. The saving grace for him is The Dream is red-hot as a performer. Despite all the rumors, it’s tough to pinpoint if The Velveteen Dream has backstage heat with WWE officials or if it’s all part of the rumor mill created by the WWE Universe. It’s been reported by RingSideNews that The Dream has acknowledged his heat with WWE in a tweet that claims “he’s ready to deal with the ramifications of being his true self.” Related: Velveteen Dream Might Be In Trouble 2 The Offices of @WWE / @WWENXT ? AM READY 2 DEAL WITH THE RAMIFICATIONS OF BEING MY FULL SELF. NOTHING SHOULD SURPRISE U. — The DREAM (@VelveteenWWE) December 31, 2018 It’s unclear if Velveteen Dream is being pushed behind the scenes. He’s one of the bigge..

Velveteen Dream Might Be In Trouble

Is it a bad dream? Over the last few years, few superstars have risen faster than the Velveteen Dream. He’s gone from what felt like a joke of a talent to a heck of a performer and one of the most popular heroes in NXT. His work has been incredible and he has more charisma than he knows what to do with, but there might be a bit of a roadblock on his path towards the top of NXT. According to Dave Meltzer of F4Wonline.com by way of NoDQ.com, Velveteen Dream may be in trouble over a recent string of tweets that he sent out and then deleted, where he complained about not being called up to the main roster yet. Velveteen Dream has tweeted some controversial statements and since deleted them before so it is likely the subject that got him in trouble this time. It hasn’t been limited to Twitter either, as Velveteen Dream wore tights at Takeover: Brooklyn IV that said “CALL ME UP VINCE!”. Dig those tights! Oh and check out a good match: [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: I..

Here’s How Vince McMahon Wants to Use The Velveteen Dream at the Main Roster

The Velveteen Dream is one of the most interesting gimmicks on all of WWE television because almost no one thought it would work in the beginning. The NXT Universe has embraced the gimmick. “The Dream” put on a great performance and almost captured the NXT Championship from Tommaso Ciampa during NXT Takeover: War Games II. At 23 years old, the sky is the limit for the young performer that most people are calling a “prodigy.” However, there’s a lot of concern regarding how The Velveteen Dream will be used on the main roster eventually. In particular, some people are very concerned if Vince McMahon will provide him the opportunity to connect with the WWE Universe. Related: Velveteen Dream “Too Small” to Be A Top Guy in WWE According to a new report from DirtySheets, Vince McMahon is actually a big fan of The Velveteen Dream. For decades, The Boss has been trying to figure out a “Little Richard” type character and Dream could be the answer. It’s fair to assume that McMahon will be hands..
