Impact Wrestling Results – March 9, 2023

Impact Wrestling Date: March 9, 2023 Location: Sam’s Town Live, Las Vegas, Nevada Commentators: Tom Hannifan, Matthew Rehwoldt We are on our way to a trio of shows with Sacrifice, Multiverse United and Rebellion, which makes for quite the packed series of builds. That got started last week with a little something for each show getting time, but they are going to have to do it again for the next few weeks. Let’s get to it. Opening recap. Here is Bully Ray to get things going. At No Surrender, Tommy Dreamer used the words “someone like me” (meaning Ray). What did he mean when he said that? Did he mean a two time Hall of Famer or half of the greatest tag team ever? Maybe a two time World Champion? Ray wishes he knew what Dreamer meant, because he threw hot coffee into Dreamer’s face. Dreamer wants a Busted Open match at Sacrifice but there is no way Dreamer is making it there. Cue Santino Marella to call Bully “Bobby Ray” and say that Dreamer will be at Sacrifice. It was only a minor ..

Impact Wrestling Results – March 2, 2023

Impact Wrestling Date: March 2, 2023 Location: Sam’s Town Hotel & Gambling Hall, Las Vegas, Nevada Commentators: Tom Hannifan, Matthew Rehwoldt We are done with No Surrender and that means we are at least one step closer to Rebellion in April. Josh Alexander is still the World Champion after retaining over Rich Swann, but now Steve Maclin is waiting on the champ. That should make for a good buildup and they have time to make it work. Let’s get to it. We open with a recap of No Surrender. Here is the Bullet Club for a chat to start. Chris Bey is rather happy about what he and Ace Austin have been doing lately, including beating the Motor City Machine Guns (in a six man tag) at No Surrender. Bey talks about helping set up the ring in this building before making his Impact Wrestling debut here as well. It turns out that Austin debuted here too but he would rather talk about beating Chris Sabin. After revealing Austin’s “I BEAT CHRIS SABIN”, we get a quick audience poll over who the be..

Impact Wrestling Results – November 17, 2022

Impact Wrestling Date: November 17, 2022 Location: Sam’s Town Live, Las Vegas, Nevada Commentators: Matthew Rehwoldt, Tom Hannifan It is the go home show for Overdrive and that means we need to find out the other finalist in the X-Division Title tournament. Other than that, we have what should be a violent match between Eric Young and Sami Callihan, where blood is required. It should be an eventful show so let’s get to it. Opening recap. Opening sequence. A laughing Crazzy Steve is in the ring and asks if we can feel it. Brace yourselves for the barrage of brutality that is Black Taurus. X-Division Title Tournament Semifinals: Black Taurus vs. PJ Black They flip around to start with neither being able to get very far. A monkey flip sends Taurus into the corner but he blasts Black pretty hard. Black is fine enough to send him outside for a big dive. Back in and a moonsault misses for Black, allowing Taurus to powerslam him for two. A Sling Blade gives Taurus two more but Black is b..

Impact Wrestling Results – November 11, 2022

Impact Wrestling Date: November 10, 2022 Location: Sam’s Town Live, Las Vegas, Nevada Commentators: Tom Hannifan, Matthew Rehwoldt We have two shows left before Overdrive and the card is mostly already set. This week is likely going to be a lot more firming up of the card, plus some extra X-Division Title tournament matches. The tournament still needs a final and we are probably getting closer to one this week. Let’s get to it. Opening recap. Opening sequence. Digital Media Title: Joe Hendry vs. Brian Myers Myers, with Matt Cardona, is defending. Before the match, Hendry promises to be a Digital Media Champion that will inspire the comments section. The fans make it clear that THEY BELIEVE as Hendry works on the arm to start. A delayed suplex gives Hendry two but Myers is right back with a kick to the face. The chinlock goes on for a bit before Myers switches to a guillotine choke. That’s broken up with straight power into a suplex but the Standing Ovation is blocked. Myers hits a..

REVIEW: No Way Out 2008: Double Shot

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be? No Way Out 2008 Date: February 17, 2008 Location: Thomas & Mack Center, Las Vegas, Nevada Attendance: 15,240 Commentators: Jim Ross, Jerry Lawler, Joey Styles, Tazz, Michael Cole, Jonathan Coachman We’re on the Road To Wrestlemania and in this case, WWE is embracing the more is more philosophy. We have a pair of Elimination Chamber matches with the winners going on to the World Title matches at Wrestlemania. In addition, we have John Cena vs. Randy Orton for the Raw World Title, which should feel quite big. Let’s ..

Impact Wrestling Results – November 3, 2022

Impact Wrestling Date: November 3, 2022 Location: Sam’s Town Live, Las Vegas, Nevada Commentators: Matthew Rehwoldt, Tom Hannifan We are about two weeks away from Overdrive and the card is starting to take shape. While the World Title match is already set, we still need to get the X-Division Title match ready, which is where this week comes in. Odds are there are going to be more tournament matches this week and that should be a good thing. Let’s get to it. Opening recap. Eddie Edwards blames PCO for the destruction of Honor No More and invites him to come fight him in the desert. Opening sequence. X-Division Title Tournament First Round: Kenny King vs. Mike Bailey Feeling out process to start with King being weary of the big kick. An exchange of rollups get two each until they both try kicks to the ribs. Bailey dropkicks him for two and King is sent outside, but it’s too early for the dive. Back in and Bailey cranks on the leg, with a leglock sending King over to the rope. King’s..

REVIEW: Halloween Havoc 1998: Time’s Up

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over ten years now and have reviewed over 5,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net, starting today. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be? Halloween Havoc 1998 Date: October 25, 1998 Location: MGM Grand Garden Arena, Las Vegas, Nevada Attendance: 10,663 Commentators: Tony Schiavone, Mike Tenay, Bobby Heenan We’re FINALLY here after six weeks of buildup. It’s a double main event with Warrior and Hogan in the battle for Hollywood’s sanity and ego as well as Diamond Dallas Page challenging Goldberg for the World Title. However the show is remembered far more for something that had nothing to do with the wrestling. Let’s get to it. The open..

REVIEW: Halloween Havoc 1999: The Zaniness Is Upon Us

Halloween Havoc 1999 Date: October 24, 1999 Location: MGM Garden Arena, Las Vegas, Nevada Attendance: 8,464 Commentators: Bobby Heenan, Tony Schiavone The Russo Era is officially upon us as we got a big time preview this past Monday. However, this show is the real thing with Russo getting to direct where things go from here. Expect to see a lot more pointless talking, a lot more insanity and a lot more shouting about what I did to deserve this. Let’s get to it. The opening video focuses on Sid vs. Goldberg and mentions the whole “Goldberg can’t touch him” bit, which has basically been ignored. Hogan vs. Sting gets even less hype. A LOUD Weasel chant is ignored by Heenan as Tony announces that due to Rey Mysterio being injured, the Filthy Animals have been stripped of the Tag Team Titles. The solution? A triple threat hardcore title match for the belts with Kidman substituting for Mysterio. Well why bother having a match when you can just make it hardcore? They run down the rest of ..

WWE Officially Confirms First Time Ever Crown Jewel Main Event

And so it is set. Over the last few years, WWE has regularly traveled to Saudi Arabia for a series of shows. These events have received a mixed reaction to say the least but they certainly do get attention. WWE will present a unique selection of matches, often including names that do not appear for the company full time. Now they have a new main event set in a first time ever match. WWE held a press conference in Las Vegas, Nevada on Saturday, officially announcing that Logan Paul will challenge Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Title in the main event of Crown Jewel on November 5. The match was set up over the course of the week, beginning with the two arguing on Twitter and leading up to a face to face segment between Paul and the Bloodline this week on SmackDown. This will be Paul’s first ever title shot. Opinion: The match was all but made this week on SmackDown so the press conference and official announcement were little more than a formality. Paul is certainly goin..

SmackDown Results – September 16, 2022

Smackdown Date: September 16, 2022 Location: Honda Center, Anaheim, California Commentators: Corey Graves, Michael Cole As has been said multiple times lately, and then everything changed. Over the course of the week, Roman Reigns started focusing on Logan Paul, which seems to be a likely Crown Jewel main event. That is the kind of thing that seems hard to fathom, but here we are with a big segment needed to make it work. Let’s get to it. Here is Logan Paul to get things going. After commentary recaps Paul’s issues with Roman Reigns and Paul Heyman this week (Reigns went on Paul’s podcast and had an interview, then after Reigns left, Paul said he could beat him), Paul says he has done it again, meaning he has made someone mad. We get some hardcore WHATing before Paul talks about how he has challenged people like Floyd Mayweather before, so tomorrow there is going to be a press conference in Las Vegas. If Reigns is man enough, he can show up and meet him face to face. Cue the Bloodli..

REVIEW: Summerslam 2021: Bring The Star Power

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Summerslam 2021 Date: August 21, 2021 Location: Allegiant Stadium, Las Vegas, Nevada Attendance: 51,326 Commentators: Pat McAfee, Michael Cole, Jimmy Smith, Byron Saxton, Corey Graves It’s time for one of the biggest Summerslams ever, as this is the first major event after the attendance restrictions were lifted after the Coronavirus pandemic. They need a major main event to make that work and that is what they have with John Cena challenging Roman Reigns for the Universal Title. Other than that, we have Bobby La..

REVIEW: Summerslam 2021: They’re Back

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Summerslam 2021 Date: August 21, 2021 Location: Allegiant Stadium, Las Vegas, Nevada Commentators: Pat McAfee, Michael Cole, Jimmy Smith, Byron Saxton, Corey Graves We’re back in front of a full stadium and that could make things interesting. Throw in the fact that this is on a Saturday for once and there is a different energy to the whole thing. We have a full on dream match main event as John Cena is challenging Roman Reigns for the Universal Title so at least the big match at the end should be good. Let’s get t..

Vince McMahon, Stephanie, Triple H & Pat McAfee Appear at UFC 276

Their night wasn’t done, last night at UFC 276, several celebrities and superstars were in attendance. This included the McMahon family, as well as Pat McAfee, who took in the show. You can see their brief appearance below: [This post contains video, click to play] Earlier in the night, WWE hosted their 2022 Money in the Bank pay-per-view event, which was held at the MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas. At the conclusion of the show, McAfee was attacked by Baron Corbin, setting up a match between the two at SummerSlam. This is why he was in the neck brace, to further sell his injuries. UFC was held at the T-Mobile arena, also in Las Vegas. The main event saw Israel Adesanya defeat Jared Cannonier by unanimous decision to retain his Middleweight championship. Editor’s Opinion: I love stuff like this. I know that everyone is going to say that Vince McMahon shouldn’t be doing what he’s doing, considering all of the legal trouble that he is in right now. But I don’t see any problem with hi..

Money In The Bank 2022 Results

Money In The Bank 2022 Date: July 2, 2022 Location: MGM Garden Arena, Las Vegas, Nevada Commentators: Byron Saxton Corey Graves, Jimmy Smith, Pat McAfee, Michael Cole It’s the ladder show as we focus on becoming something close to the #1 contender. That means the show is going to be built around the two ladder matches, so there aren’t going to be many options for the rest of the card. There are enough title matches around to fill things out, but this is all about the ladder matches. Let’s get to it. The opening video looks at a bunch of the people on the show and how they could make it big tonight. Becky Lynch vs. Liv Morgan vs. Asuka vs. Alexa Bliss vs. Shotzi vs. Raquel Rodriguez vs. Lacey Evans Women’s Money In The Bank ladder match. It’s a brawl to start with Asuka being left in the ring to strike at Becky. A sliding kick to the face drops Becky and Asuka takes a ladder that Shotzi tries to bring in. Becky kicks Asuka down but can’t drop a ladder onto her. Rodriguez comes back i..

Hand It Over: Title Change Takes Place This Weekend

History has been made! There are a lot of titles to be won in the wrestling world and some of them are a little less than traditional. With so many championships out there, it is easy to find one on the line at almost any time, even if they are not taking place on a show from the company that promotes the title. That is the case again here, as a title change took place this week. This weekend, Rich Swann defeated Matt Cardona to become the new Impact Wrestling Digital Media Championship. The title change took place at the Wrestling Revolver event in Las Vegas, Nevada, though Swann did not leave with the title. Following the loss, Cardona grabbed the title and ran to the back with it instead of handing it over to Swann. The title change ends Cardona’s reign at 114 days after he won the title on the February 3 Impact Wrestling. WATCH: AEW Stars Rock Some Karaoke In Las Vegas (This Is AWESOME)

That’s a different side. Wrestlers are a lot of things but above all else, they are performers. These people go out in front of a crowd and do what they can do as well as anyone in the world. You can see some amazing talent from bell to bell, but there are also some talents that you do not get to see in the ring. Some of them were on display this weekend though in a rather fun way. During their time in Las Vegas for Double Or Nothing, several AEW wrestlers performed karaoke songs as part of AEW’s Fan Fest. This included names such as Bryan Danielson, Keith Lee, Rebel, Eddie Kingston, Adam Cole and more. Several of the names will be appearing on the Double Or Nothing pay per view this weekend. There have been several videos of the performances on Twitter. This is great stuff. Check out what the AEW stars did over the weekend: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, clic..

MJF No Shows AEW Meet And Greet, Double Or Nothing Status Up In The Air

That could be a mess. In just over three years, AEW has become one of the biggest wrestling promotions in the world. The company has all kinds of strengths but one of the biggest is its roster. Using a mixture of rookies, upcoming stars and veterans, AEW has turned into one of the hottest wrestling promotions in a good many years. Now though, there might be a problem with one of its top stars. According to PWInsider.com, Maxwell Jacob Friedman no showed a meet and greet at AEW’s Double Or Nothing fan fest in Las Vegas. In addition, Sean Ross Sapp is reporting that a flight for Friedman has been booked out of Las Vegas. Friedman is scheduled to face Wardlow in a match at Double Or Nothing. This comes as Friedman and AEW have reportedly butted heads over money and his contract status. There is no guarantee that Friedman will most the show as the two sides could still work out a deal. I can confirm a flight out of Las Vegas tonight has been booked for MJF. Full story is on https://t.co..

Money In The Bank Plans “Up In The Air” After Huge Change

The more things change. We are rapidly approaching WWE Hell In A Cell and the card is only somewhat put together, with four matches already announced. That being said, WWE still have other shows that are coming up further down the line, though one of them is going up some changes. It turns out that the changes in one area could cause changes to the show itself. Earlier this week, WWE announced that Money In The Bank would be moving from Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas to the MGM Grand Garden Arena in the same city. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the show’s creative plans are now up in the air, especially when it comes to the company’s top stars. It is not clear if Roman Reigns defending the WWE Universal Title against Riddle is still taking place. At the same time, there is no word on if Brock Lesnar, who was originally advertised, will still appear now that the show is in an arena. The show takes place on July 2. Opinion: I’m not sure what is going on in WWE at the m..

AEW Rampage Results – May 27, 2022

Rampage Date: May 27, 2022 Location: Michelob Ultra Arena, Las Vegas, Nevada Commentators: Excalibur, Taz, Ricky Starks It’s the final show before Double Or Nothing and that means it is time for the last push towards the show. If nothing else, we get to find out who will be in the final of the women’s Owen Hart Foundation tournament, because that is still going. Tonight is mostly about firming up what is already there though so let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Bryan Danielson vs. Matt Sydal William Regal is on commentary as Danielson wins a test of strength and grabs a headlock. Back up and Sydal snaps off a flying mare, leaving us with a standoff. Danielson uppercuts him down and fires off the forearms to the head but Sydal is back with a leg lariat. We take a break and come back with Danielson dropping a knee for two of his own, only to have Sydal kick him in the face for a breather. A hurricanrana gives Sydal two so he goes up for the Meteora, which is pulled into a nasty half..

Move On: WWE Officially Moving Money In The Bank To New Venue

Pack the bags. WWE runs a lot of major events every single year, some of which are among the biggest on the wrestling calendar. The company’s top events are some of the most well known in the industry and as a result, they are able to draw in tends of thousands of fans to the larger events. That is usually the case, but now things will not be taking place as originally planned. WWE has officially announced that July 2nd’s Money In The Bank pay per view will be taking place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada instead of Allegiant Stadium in the same city. Fans who had purchased tickets to the event in the original venue have been sent an email saying that they will receive a refund and be allowed to purchase tickets to the new venue in advance. WWE’s website has also changed the venue to the new location. The email did not give a reason for the changes, though previous reports cited poor advance ticket sales. WWE sent out the following email to fans that Money in the Ba..
