Out Of Two, One? WWE Teases Separating Some United Titles

Splitsville? Titles are one of the most important concepts in all of wrestling as they tell fans a lot about what they are seeing. A wrestling holding a title means that they are one of the best but also one of the most important stars on the roster. It can mean a lot for someone to win a championship, and this time it could be a little more complicated than it has been in the past. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Good News: Positive Update On Seth Rollins’ Health Status The main event of this week’s Monday Night Raw saw the Judgment Day win a Tag Team Turmoil match for a future Tag Team Title shot. However, commentary made it clear that the match was ONLY for the Raw Tag Team Titles rather than both Raw and SmackDown. This comes after the titles were unified with the SmackDown Tag Team Titles and marks the first suggestion that the titles could be slit. There is no word on if the titles will be split again or if this was a slip of the tongue. They have their work cut out for them. Check out..

Important Update On The Future Of WWE’s Brand Split

That’s a big change. There are all kinds of wrestler in WWE, to the point where the company is able to split its roster into multiple sections. That can be rather difficult to keep track of but WWE does it as well as they can with Monday Night Raw and SmackDown having their own set of wrestlers. At least that is in theory, but the situation might be changing soon. According to Wrestling Observer Live, while the decision is not official, the WWE brand Split is all but finished. Several Monday Night Raw wrestlers will be heading to SmackDown this week, including Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins, though it is not clear if the two will be on camera. It is not clear if WWE will officially be ending the Brand Split or just loosening it, as has been the case in recent weeks. Opinion: I’m not sure how much of a difference this is really going to make, as some of the titles have been unified and wrestlers appear on different shows on a regular basis. It should be interesting to see how FOX and US..

Monday Night Raw Live Coverage And Results – May 23, 2022

Monday Night Raw Date: May 23, 2022 Location: Ford Center, Evansville, Indiana Commentators: Jimmy Smith, Corey Graves, Byron Saxton We’re in a bit of a different era these days, as we now have unified Tag Team Champions, plus the lack of Sasha Banks and Naomi. I know WWE got their chance to complain about Banks and Naomi last week, but why do it once when you can do it again? Other than that, we might actually get something new set for the pay per view next weekend. Let’s get to it. We open with a recap of the Usos beating RKBro to win the Raw Tag Team Titles. The Bloodline wrecked RKBro after the match. Here is Riddle for a chat. Riddle talks about how things have been hard for Randy Orton in the last few years. His back was messed up before the unification match and he could barely walk. Riddle isn’t happy with “that tribal piece of trash” Roman Reigns and he wants revenge on all of the Bloodline. Vengeance is sworn and he knows that Orton is watching at home. The RKBro chants ta..

Update On Status Of WWE Brand Split

You might want to get used to it. WWE has a huge roster with all kinds of talented wrestlers working for the company. The roster is so big that it is divided into several groups who primarily appear on their own show. That is a concept called the Brand Split, but the rosters have started to come together a little bit more over the last few months. It turns out that might not be a sign of things to come. WWE has announced that the Raw and SmackDown Tag Team Titles will be unified at the upcoming WrestleMania Backlash event. This has led to some speculation that the Brand Split may be coming to an end, but that is not the case according to the Wrestling Observer newsletter. Vince McMahon is currently not thinking about bringing the rosters back together and the title unifications are events that will not impact the Brand Split as a whole. Opinion: I’m glad to hear that the Brand Slit is not likely ending, as WWE did not exactly do well without it last time. It is kind of nice to have t..

LOOK: Possible Preview Of Undisputed WWE World Title

They have a plan. We are less than a week away from WrestleMania 38 and that means it is time to get ready for the biggest WWE match of the year. This time around that is going to be a championship unification match between Universal Champion Roman Reigns and WWE Champion Brock Lesnar. That means there is going to be one World Champion, but it is going to be something a little different than we have seen before. This week on SmackDown, Reigns mentioned that he would become the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion. An image has made its way onto Twitter showing a large prop of a WWE title belt in Arlington, Texas, the sight of WrestleMania 38. The title is labeled the World Heavyweight Champion and features a blue design which is currently not present in any WWE championship. While not confirmed, this may be the new Undisputed Universal Championship design. WWE is currently shooting exterior WrestleMania 38 shots using this massive prop in Frisco, Texas. Is this the new unified WWE World..

The Stipulation For The Main Event Of WrestleMania 38 Might Not Last Long

That’s a fast turnaround. We are less than five weeks away from WrestleMania 38 and that means the show should be starting to come together. While we only know a few of the bigger matches on the card, we do know the show’s main event. WrestleMania 38 will be headlined by a winner take all unification match between Universal Champion Roman Reigns and WWE Champion Brock Lesnar. However, things might not be as simple as they seem. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, WWE will continue to have two World Champions after WrestleMania 38. At some time after WrestleMania, a new WWE World Title will be introduced to bring the number of titles back to two. This is seen as similar to Triple H being named the inaugural World Heavyweight Champion in 2002 after the WWF and WCW World Titles were unified at Vengeance 2001. There is no word on what the new title will be or when it will be introduced. Opinion: I can’t even pretend to be surprised at this, as WWE has a tendency to make up stipulation..

WWE Adds Major Stipulation To WrestleMania Main Event

It’s the big one. We are less than six weeks away from WrestleMania 38 and this year’s show is going to take place inside AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. That means the company is going to need as big of a main event as possible to sell that many tickets and now they have their biggest match set. This time though, it is going to be even bigger than you might have expected. This weekend, Brock Lesnar won the WWE Title at Elimination Chamber in Saudi Arabia. As a result of his Royal Rumble match win, Lesnar is already set to challenge Roman Reigns for the WWE Title at WrestleMania. WWE has now confirmed that the Reigns vs. Lesnar match will be Winner Take All, with both titles on the line. However, there is no word on if the titles will be unified. Opinion: I would certainly hope that the titles remain separate, as WWE has already gone out of their way to make Lesnar and Reigns feel like they are above everyone else. At some point you need someone else to have a chance at being a Wor..

Title Change And Title Retirement Take Place On AEW Dynamite

There goes the gold. There are a lot of titles in the wrestling world and some of them are rather prestigious. At the same time, you can find some titles which do not mean quite as much as they have not been around long enough to build up a history. That was the case with a newly established AEW Title, but after only a few weeks of existence, it has already gone away. This week’s AEW Dynamite featured a ladder match to unify the TNT Title and the Interim TNT Title. Interim champion Sammy Guevara defeated Cody Rhodes to become the unified champion, kicking off his second reign. The interim title was created when Rhodes was forced out of a title defense against Guevara at battle of the Belts. As a result, Guevara defeated Dustin Rhodes for the inaugural interim title. Opinion: This is a surprising result as I would have bet on Cody retaining the title here. Guevara winning the title back was a nice moment, especially after that kind of a performance in the match. They were both laying ..

One For Two: WWE Announces Plans For Unified Titles

Its name shall be revered. Titles are one of the easiest concepts in all of wrestling, as anyone can get the idea in a hurry. One wrestler has a championship, often represented by a big shiny belt, and others want to take it away. That story can be told in all kinds of ways but ultimately it comes down to wanting the prestigious honor. Now we know what the newest one is going to be called. Next week at NXT New Year’s Evil, North American Champion Carmelo Hayes will face Cruiserweight Champion Roderick Strong in a title unification match. WWE has posted a preview of the match, asking who will walk out as NXT North American Champion? This comes as Joe Gacy has been campaigning for the end of the Cruiserweight name, citing its unfairness to heavier wrestlers. This could be a great one. Check out the champs in action and face to face: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: This is about..

WWE Seems To Be Unifying Two Of Its Titles

One for two. Titles are the lifeblood of a wrestling promotion as you have people fighting to be recognized as the best in the world. They have been around forever and always will be, even if there are occasionally more than there need to be around a promotion. That is the case in WWE, but now it seems that they are getting rid of one of them as a few are going to be unified. This week on NXT, a title for title match was set for New Year’s Evil on January 4, 2022, as North American Champion Carmelo Hayes will face NXT Cruiserweight Champion Roderick Strong. The two champions ran into each other last week and got into a brawl this week, with the title match being made later in the evening. This comes as WWE is phasing down its cruiserweight division, as the weight limit has been waved and there has been talk of changing 205 Live. We could be in for something special here. Check out the titles in action, plus some unification matches: [This post contains video, click to play] [This ..

REVIEW: Clash Of The Champions 25: Title Night!

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be? Clash of the Champions XXV Date: November 10, 1993 Location: Bayfront Arena, St. Petersburg, Florida Attendance: 6,000 Commentators: Jesse Ventura, Tony Schiavone This is a big night for WCW as there are seven matches with five different titles on the line. Vader is still World Champion and dominating the company, but the fans are behind Flair as he tries to take the title. Other than that we have Sting/British Bulldog teaming up to go after the World Tag Team Titles (no longer Unified and just WCW now) and Dustin..

Breaking: WWE Announces Change To WrestleMania 35 Main Event

Well it does make sense. Last week saw two major changes in the women’s division. On Monday, it was announced that the Raw Women’s Title match would headline WrestleMania 35. That was quite the accomplishment as no women’s match has ever come close to such a spot. Then it got even more confusing when Charlotte defeated Asuka to become the SmackDown Women’s Champion. Now though, the issues have been resolved. This week on Monday Night Raw, Stephanie McMahon opened the show with an announcement. McMahon said that the Raw Women’s Title match will now be for both titles, which will now be Winner Takes All. Therefore, the winner of the match will leave as both Raw Women’s Champion and SmackDown Live Women’s Champion. There is no word on if the titles will be unified or not. It’s a major moment. Check out the WWE reaction to last week’s announcement: [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: Really, this is the only way that they can go. There was no point in having Lynch win t..
