It could be worse? We are getting closer and closer to WrestleMania and a lot of the card has already been set up. With so little time left though, there are only so many more changes that can be made. Occasionally something happens that necessitates a change though and while we have not reached that point just yet, one WWE star will not be going into WrestleMania as planned. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: It’s Over: Six Month Old Streak Snapped On Monday Night Raw Last week on SmackDown, Ronda Rousey accompanied Shayna Baszler to the ring with her arm in a sling. This was later revealed to be due to Rousey re-aggravating a previous injury. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, Rousey and Baszler are still expected to challenge for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles at WrestleMania, but Rousey is not likely to be at 100% for the match. Grayson Waller Confronts Shawn Michaels On Media Conference Call
Nowhere is safe anymore. Following last night’s NXT: Vengeance Day premium live event, Shawn Michaels did a media conference call to discuss the show. However, he was not alone, as Grayson Waller decided to make his feelings known. Waller interrupted Michaels during the call and shared his frustrations about not being HBK’s guy. Waller felt that Carmelo Hayes has taken that place, as was shown in the final moments of the show. Matt Bloom ended up entering the room and removed Waller before he took things too far. Delaware State Police Issue Full Statement And Details On Jay Briscoe Accident
The more we know. Tuesday night, Ring Of Honor Hall Of Famer and reigning Tag Team Champion Jay Briscoe was killed in a car crash in his home state of Delaware. The crash rocked the wrestling world and now all that can be done is grieve and hope that everyone else involved pulls through. Now we know a little bit more about what happened and it is not good. Briscoe’s death was caused by a car crash when a truck went into the wrong land and hit Briscoe’s truck head on. The other driver, Lillyanne Ternahan, 27, was killed as well. On the October 18th episode of AEW Dynamite: Title Tuesday, Hangman Adam Page suffered a serious concussion injury in his AEW World Championship match against Jon Moxely. Aside from some general news, there haven’t been many reports on how his health is progressing, especially with AEW Full Gear just hours away. Well that’s….different. AEW has gone from non-existent to one of the biggest wrestling promotions in the world in less than four years. The company’s main television show, Dynamite, has been a major part of its rise as the show regularly features the top AEW names in a variety of matches. However, this week’s show was a bit different, and an AEW star had his own version of things. This week’s edition of AEW Dynamite took place on Tuesday night instead of its usual Wednesday night time slot due to TBS’s coverage of the Major League Baseball playoffs. It’s a special. WWE is in a rather strong place when it comes to their current television contracts. While Monday Night Raw and NXT are on the USA Network on Monday and Tuesday, Friday features SmackDown on the FOX Network. That is the biggest platform WWE has ever had and it means something when FOX wants more programming. That is what they will be having again later this year. According to PWInsider.com, FOX will air a special looking at the WWE’s Top Ten Women’s Extreme Moments over the first weekend in October. The special will air at varying times throughout different markets. This special will be airing about a week before the Extreme Rules premium live event on September 8. You have to get it in where you can. There are several WWE shows every single week with each one looking at a different core of wrestlers. This includes both main roster shows as well as NXT, which has its own world and group of stars. It can be interesting to see someone from NXT get involved with something on the main roster and now that has happened again (kind of). The NXT Twitter account has released a photo of a brawl that took place between Solo Sikoa and Von Wagner at last week’s SmackDown taping. The two have been feuding in NXT and it is unlikely that the brawl suggests that the two are being called up. Instead, the fight was likely held at SmackDown due to the show being taped near the Performance Center in Orlando, Florida. The footage will likely air on this week’s NXT. They have plans. NXT has a unique setup in wrestling as it is not only WWE’s official developmental territory, but also a promotion of its own. The show runs for two hours every week on national TV and that means they need a lot of content to fill in that time. Now we might have an idea of what some of those people will be doing and it could involve a few changes. Welcome back. There are a lot of people who work together to many any wrestling show work and WWE is certainly no exception. The company has a backstage staff that helps make their events as good as they can be. That is a lot easier said than done and having the right group of people together helps. Now one of the veteran backstage workers is back on the job. WWE Hall of Famer D-Von Dudley has announced that he returned to work as a producer at this week’s NXT taping. This is Dudley’s first time back at work since he underwent back surgery in October. Dudley said he is happy to be in his new role in NXT and is enjoying working with the new talent. He also thanked God for the opportunity. Dudley has been working as a WWE producer since retiring in 2016. This pass Tuesday night was the first time back at work since my back surgery that took me out last October. Feeling great and Glad to be back, but even more glad to be back in my new role in NXT.
