And NEW! Former WWE Star Wins First World Title

He who hath the gold. Titles have been the focal point of wrestling since the sport began, as wrestlers want to be seen as the best. The easiest way to be recognized as such is to hold a big shiny belt after beating the former champion. There have been a lot of titles throughout wrestling’s history and now one of the most famous, as well as important, has changed hands. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: WWE’s Scarlett Reportedly Involved In Incident With Fan At Live Event This weekend at NWA Hard Times 3, Tyrus, formerly known as Brodus Clay in WWE, defeated Matt Cardona and reigning NWA World Champion Trevor Murdoch in the main event to win the title. This is Tyrus’ first World Title, with his shot coming after he cashed in his NWA TV Title via the Lucky Seven rule in exchange. The win ends Murdoch’s reign at 154 days. He’s been around. Trevor Murdoch Once Punched Out Irate Fan To Save Randy Orton

That could have been a lot worse. Wrestlers have to do a lot of things right to make a match or event come together in the right way. Above all else, they are tasked with making fans care about them in one way or another, which can be rather difficult. At times, they can be too good at their job and a fan can take things a bit too far. A former WWE star has quite the story about how a fan got out of hand and had to be dealt with quickly. Former WWE star and reigning NWA World Champion Trevor Murdoch appeared on the 10 Count podcast and talked about a time in a hotel bar in Ireland with then WWE Champion Randy Orton. A fan came up to Orton and asked for an autograph, which Orton gave him. The fan then insisted on getting something else signed, which Orton declined and asked to be left alone. This caused the fan to go into a tirade against Orton, shouting about how the fans pay his salary. The fan was taken away by security but was waiting for Orton in the foyer later in the night. Mur..

Office vs. Locker Room: Backstage Issues Reportedly Causing Issues In NWA

They might need counseling. There are a lot of wrestling promotions throughout the world and some of them are rather prominent. These are the promotions that have been around for a very long time now and a lot of people have heard of them over the years. It turns out that the modern version of one of the most famous promotions in history might not be going so well. On August 28, the NWA will present its 74th anniversary show, featuring Tyrus challenging Trevor Murdoch for the NWA World Title. This comes after NWA owner Billy Corgan pulled Nick Aldis from the match. The two have both commented on the situation, with Corgan blaming Aldis’ attitude. According to PWInsider.com, there is some truth to the storyline comments, as Aldis has been critical of Corgan’s creative direction of the NWA. This has resulted in heat on Aldis for promoting himself as bigger than the NWA itself. Aldis is still expected to wrestle at the show with a new opponent to be named. ?? JUST ANNOUNCED: @Billy has ..

Double Shot: Two World Titles Change Hands Over The Weekend

Two for one. There are a lot of championships in wrestling but only some of them are at the top of the industry. Those top titles are among the most famous names in the history of the business and winning one of those titles can change a wrestler’s career trajectory. That was the case again this weekend, though it turns out that it happened twice in the span of two days. There was a pair of World Title changes over the weekend. On Saturday night, Trevor Murdoch won the vacant NWA World Title at Alwayz Ready, defeating Nick Aldis, Sam Shaw and Thom Latimer, becoming a two time champion. The title was vacated after Matt Cardona was forced to vacate the title due to a torn bicep. Second, Jay White won the IWGP World Heavyweight Title from Kazuchika Okada in the main event of New Japan’s Dominion event. Opinion: This is the kind of weekend that you do not get to see very often in wrestling and it makes things that much more interesting. Above all else, these are the kinds of title change..

Bid Him Adieu: Former WWE Star Announces Upcoming Retirement Match

Fare thee well. While it might not seem to always the case, every wrestler steps out of the ring for good at some point. They are able to finally leave active wrestling and move on to something else, though it can be easier said than done for some. It can be emotional to see someone walking away, and now we will be seeing someone do just that after a very long time in the ring. Former WWE and current NWA star Aron Stevens, formerly known as Damian Sandow, has announced that he will be having his last match on June 11 against Trevor Murdoch at ALWAYZ READY. Stevens made the announcement on Instagram in character, saying that he will be praying that the wrestling business survives without him. Stevens debuted in 2001 and is a former WWE Tag Team Champion with the Miz. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Aron Haddad (@thearonfiles) Opinion: This is one of those careers that has lasted for a very long time and it deserves quite the sendoff. Stevens is someone who has done well ..

Surprise Title Change Takes Place Over The Weekend *SPOILER*

It was worth the wait. There are some wrestlers who do not last long in the industry for one reason or another. Maybe they do not like it or maybe they aren’t cut out for what they are doing, but for some reason it just doesn’t work. At the same time, there are some people who feel like lifers and eventually make it big. It can be a long road to get there, but the eventual win can make it worth the wait. That might have been the case this weekend. Matt Cardona, better known as Zack Ryder, won the NWA World Title from Trevor Murdoch Saturday night at the NWA Super Powerrr event, which will air next Tuesday. Cardona has been wrestling on the independent circuit as well as in Impact Wrestling since his release from WWE in April 2020. Since then, he has also won the Game Changer Wrestling World Title, defeating Nick Gage for the title in July 2021. I did it. Historic Title Reigns Comes To An End This Weekend

That’s the big one. Titles are one of the easiest concepts in all of professional wrestling. Any fan can get the idea of putting a championship on the line and seeing who walks out with the gold. A wrestler holding a title for a long time can make their title reign seem all the more important, especially when someone finally takes it from them. That was the case this weekend. Trevor Murdoch defeated Nick Aldis at the NWA 73rd Anniversary Show to become the new NWA World Heavyweight Champion for the first time in his career. In addition, Murdoch had put his career on the line in the match. Murdoch’s win ends Aldis’ second reign at 1043 days, which was more than double the longest reign with the title since 1999. Aldis’ reign was the sixth longest in the title’s history. It’s a big deal. Impact Star Caleb Konley Reveals His Insane Methods To Watch The Show Growing Up

Impact Wrestling Superstar Caleb Konley was interviewed by James Walsh on Interactive Wrestling Radio where he revealed a number of insane methods he used to watch the product when he went to school. On being paired with Trevor Lee as the Cult of Lee: “Well, Trevor is from about 2 hours away from where I live in Charlotte. I’ve known him since he was about 16 years old. We’re both from the same area, we’re both second generation guys. We’re both tired of the bullcrap that comes along on the indies and on Impact. Some guys want to go out there and be fancy and do all the flips and all the cool spots. We’re just going out there to bash heads and we’re going to talk crap to you while we do it!” On changing his look to fit the Cult of Lee persona: “It didn’t take much! Just stop shaving, basically! (laughs)” On the Cult of Lee’s feud with LAX: “Feud is a good way to put it! I like wrestling those guys. They bring out the best of me and Trevor. But, at the same time, we clash. We are oil ..
