NXT Makes Very Important Announcement About Its Future

They’re back at it. Wrestling has a lot of active parts to make the whole presentation work, but the live fans are one of the most important. Fans offer feedback and allow the wrestlers to get an idea of how they are doing at the moment. It can make a lot of difference when the fans are missing, but now some wrestlers are going to get a better idea of how things are going. NXT has announced that they will be returning to live touring. This week on NXT, an announcement was made that the promotion will be holding a tour of Florida in June and July. Eight shows were announced, with more being promised in the future. This marks the return of regular touring for NXT, with the promotion only running one show outside of Orlando, Florida since their relaunch in September 2021. Here are the tour dates: * Friday, June 10 – UACDC Complex in Tampa, Fla. * Saturday, July 11 – Largo Event Center in Largo, Fla. * Friday, June 24 – Jacksonville Armory in Jacksonville, Fla. * Saturday, June 25 – Veni..

Back To It: Major Change Possibly Coming For NXT

That would be a change. There have been several moves made in and around NXT in the last several months. The show has been relaunched as the new NXT 2.0, which has included a variety of moves that have left NXT barely resembling its original version. Some of these changes have been for the better, but now we might be seeing one of the older norms reestablished. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, WWE is considering taking NXT back on the road. The return to touring would take place in the near future, with the touring likely taking place around Florida, as was done before the Coronavirus pandemic took place. It should be noted that these talks have been held before but nothing came of them. NXT has only run one event outside of the WWE Performance Center since the relaunch of NXT, with Stand & Deliver taking place in Dallas, Texas. Opinion: This is something that has been needed for a very long time as NXT wrestlers have only been training in the Performance Center and wrestling m..

WWE Took Several Hours To Film Individual Monday Night Raw Matches

That’s quite a long time. The Coronavirus pandemic changed the way a lot of things worked in the world, including in the wrestling industry. While WWE was shaken up, they were able to continue moving forward thanks to their access to the Performance Center, where Monday Night Raw and SmackDown took place for several months. However, it turns out that things were a lot more difficult than they seemed. Former WWE referee discussed WWE’s time in the Performance Center during his Monday Mailbag Forum this week, where he revealed that some Performance Center matches took hours to shoot. The process involved starting a match, cutting the camera, filming the next piece of the match, and then splicing the material together. WWE moved out of the Performance Center in August 2020 and took up residence in the Thunderdome in Tampa, Florida. They returned to normal touring last July. Opinion: The more I hear about this period in WWE, the more fascinated I am by the whole thing. The lengths WWE we..

WWE Makes Interesting Decision About NXT

They need the practice. NXT has been shaken up in a lot of ways over the last several months, leaving the promotion looking almost nothing like it looked in its glory days. That creates a problem as it still serves as the official developmental show for WWE, meaning the wrestlers still need to be in the ring. However, a WWE decision might make that even harder than it seems. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, WWE has no intent to take NXT on the road as a touring brand because they do not feel fans would buy tickets to see the shows. This includes running live events in Florida as the NXT did for several years before the relaunch. The only shows that NXT is currently running is its television taping, which is shown in front of people who are let in. Opinion: So to clarify, these wrestlers are supposed to improve their wrestling without wrestling? NXT wrestlers are in need of ring time more than anything else and I have no idea why WWE does not think selling tickets matter. No one..

Another Wrestling Promotion Returning To National Touring

Get the trucks ready. The Coronavirus had a huge impact on the wrestling world and a lot of those changes are still being felt to this day. While things are not completely fixed and there are a lot of areas that need to be improved, you can see that we are getting better. That is the case again with one of the bigger promotions as it has some good news for itself and its fans. Impact Wrestling has announced that they are returning to the road for regular television tapings starting in 2022. This will include their regular Impact Plus specials and pay per views as well as Impact tapings. This marks the first time that the company has regularly toured in several years, following extended stints in both Nashville, Tennessee and Las Vegas, Nevada. VIDEO: Triple H Back At Work After Cardiac Event

Welcome back? There are a lot of people who make decisions in WWE but some of them are a lot more well known than others. A change in WWE’s higher up management can mean a lot for the company and that was the case, at least temporarily, earlier this year, when an executive had some health issues. Now they are back to work, at least in one kind of capacity. Back in September, WWE COO Triple H suffered a cardiac event and has not been away recovering since. This week, a pair of videos have been posted to TikTok, showing Triple H and various other WWE executives, including Vince McMahon, touring what will become the future WWE headquarters. This is Triple H’s first appearance since September, though there is no word on how much he is doing otherwise. It’s great to have him back. Check out Triple H on tour, plus some of his great returns: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains ..

WWE Announces Third Quarter Revenue, Up Big Over Last Year

They’re good at this. There are a lot of complaints to be made against WWE and a lot of them seem to be quite valid. The company has done quite a few things that make fans shake their heads, but there is one thing that WWE does rather well: make money. WWE has figured out how to make a fortune in wrestling and now we have an idea of what they have been doing as of late. WWE released their third quarter earnings report on Thursday. The company announced that their revenue was up almost across the board compared to the third quarter of 2020, when the company did not run any live events with fans in attendance. This included revenue of $255.8 million, up 15% over last year. At the same time, operating income was $64 million, up only 1% ($600,000) by comparison. WWE began touring with fans again in July of this year. It seems to be a good day for WWE financially. Chris Jericho Taking Some Time Away From AEW TV Due To Fozzy Tour

Back in a bit. There are a lot of stars on the AEW roster but some of them are bigger than others. The company has its share of legends who have been around for a very long time, with Chris Jericho at the top of the list. Jericho has been around for a very long time now and was the first AEW World Champion. Now though, he is going to be taking a bit of time away from television. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Jericho will be touring the United Kingdom with his band Fozzy, meaning that he will be missing time from AEW TV. Jericho will be on tour from November 29 until December 12 and will miss two editions of Dynamite and Rampage each. There is a chance that Jericho will still appear in pre-taped videos. It is not clear if AEW will announce the tour or use a storyline to write Jericho off of television. He’s done well in AEW. VIDEO: Top Stars In Action Before And After WWE SmackDown

It was a busy show. This week’s edition of SmackDown was a special show as the event took place at Madison Square Garden in New York City. While that is a big deal on its own, the fact that it was taking place twenty years minus one day after the September 11 attacks made things feel even bigger. WWE was going to bring out the big names for this one and they did that during the show. It turns out that they did it before and after the show as well. WWE held a dark match both before and after this week’s SmackDown aired live, along with a segment after the show went off the air. Before the show aired, Raw Women’s Champion Charlotte faced Rhea Ripley. There is nothing to suggest that the Monday Night Raw roster will begin touring with the SmackDown roster as this was likely a special event only for the big show. Immediately after the show went off the air, Happy Corbin appeared to confront the Demon, who had been in the ring to end SmackDown. The Demon attacked Balor on the floor and la..

Coronavirus Causes More Problems For NXT

Unpack those bags. The Coronavirus has changed the way the world works and that certainly includes wrestling. While things are starting to get back to normal, there are still several things that are not quite what they were before. The virus is still causing issues and now one of the bigger issues is going to be changing plans for a fairly big wrestling promotion. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE has canceled the plans for NXT to return to touring. NXT had been planning to return to its regular Florida touring schedule in July but no events have been held. Florida is currently experiencing more cases of the Coronavirus than anywhere else in the country and WWE is worried about another outbreak in the NXT locker room. NXT has a history at these shows. RUMOR: WWE Worried Summerslam Will Be Canceled, Touring In Jeopardy

So soon? Last month, WWE returned to the road with fans in attendance for the first time in over fifteen months. That is the kind of change that the company has been waiting on for a very long time now and it is something that could shake up the way everything works. It was a huge moment, but it seems that it might have been the first of very few similar moments. According to Bodyslam.net, WWE is worried that Summerslam will not be able to be held in Allegiant Stadium as expected, along with the rest of their events being moved back into the Thunderdome. This comes as the Delta variant of the Coronavirus spreads and the number of fully vaccinated Americans remains low. While a lockdown is no longer expected, WWE is expecting a ban on mass gatherings within the next few weeks. It is not clear where the new Thunderdome would be located. You remember the Thunderdome right? Check out what WWE might need again: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click ..

Former WWE Wrestler Explains Why In-Ring Drills Are Unnecessary

I can see them being mad. WWE is in a big state of transition at the moment as the company goes back on the road for live touring with fans in attendance. This is a huge change of pace after so many months away, but WWE seems to be a bit nervous about what they are doing. They have tried to do something to fix things up a bit, but it has not gone so well. WWE has ordered all of its wrestlers to undergo a series of drills at the Performance Center in preparation to return to the road. During one of these sessions Bayley suffered a torn ACL and will be out of action for about nine months. An unnamed WWE wrestler spoke to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter and talked about how he wrestled for over fifteen years without having to undergo in-ring drills. Save for special occasions where he was coming out of retirement, the only training he did was for cardio. The wrestler said that if you can wrestle a weekly on television and another on pay per view, wrestlers should be fine for touring. ..

Here’s One Of The Reasons For WWE Calling Up NXT Wrestlers

The more things change. WWE is almost ready to go back on the road and that is going to open up a lot of doors. There are so many different benefits from running live events, including extra practice for the wrestlers, a dry run to see what works and what doesn’t and more exposure, but there is one more big thing. However, this time around WWE might be making even more changes. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, WWE might have made a variety of NXT callups in response to the lower ticket sale advances on the company’s upcoming return to touring. Vince McMahon was reportedly unhappy with the amount of tickets being sold and made the callups as a result. So far, Shotzi Blackheart and Tegan Nox have appeared on the main roster, with the chance of more to come. Live events can be fascinating. WWE Wrestlers Unhappy With Recent Company Decision

Can you blame them? The world of WWE is changing all over again and that is going to be the case in a big way in the coming weeks. Starting July 16, WWE will be returning to active touring with its first show outside of Florida since March 2020. This is a big change after nearly a year and a half in the same place so the company is changing things up a bit. It just so happens that some wrestlers are unhappy with the situation. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, WWE wrestlers who do not live near Orlando, Florida are unhappy about being required to go to the Performance Center for additional training. Part of the problem came from wrestlers not wanting to give up their days off for no additional pay for drills they do not see as necessary. Several of the wrestlers who live nearby would have gone to the Performance Center to train anyway without it being made mandatory but were not given the chance. Training can help a lot. Check out some WWE wrestlers getting ready for some bigger..

Update On Sasha Banks’ Return To WWE TV

Welcome back? WWE is in a big transitional period at the moment, as the company is getting ready to head back onto the road. After over a year of being stuck in Florida, WWE is getting ready to get back to normal touring starting later this month. That is a big jump back into normal and now WWE is going to be doing some special training to get ready. This includes a certain name. According to Fightful Select, Sasha Banks is present at the Performance Center and will be training for a return to touring as well. Banks has not been seen on WWE television since the SmackDown after WrestleMania 37, where she would not speak about losing her SmackDown Women’s Title to Bianca Belair. There is no word on when Banks will be back on WWE television. It would be nice to have Banks back. Check out what WWE could be getting again soon: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: I’ll be glad to have B..

Back To Normal: Released Name Returns To WWE

Welcome back. There are a lot of people needed to make a WWE event work. While the wrestlers are the most important part of a show, there are several other roles that need to be filled. Some of these are a lot more prominent than others, but you need the right people involved to make everything work. Now WWE is bringing back someone who could help in a nice way. According to Wrestlinginc.com, Shawn Daivari is back with WWE as a producer. This comes less a week after Daivari was working as a producer at the NWA’s When Our Shadows Fall pay per view. The move comes as WWE is preparing to return to full time touring starting in July. Daivari had worked as a producer for WWE starting in January 2019 but was let go last year due to budget cuts brought on by the Coronavirus pandemic. https://www.wrestlinginc.com/news/2021/06/veteran-wrestler-returns-to-work-for-wwe/ Daivari has been around. Four New AEW Special Events Set For July

Four pack. Wrestling is starting to recover from the Coronavirus pandemic as things are finally beginning to get back to normal. One of the biggest changes back is having fans in the arenas again, though it is going to take a little extra nudging to get them back in the building. There are a few different ways to do that and AEW is trying it on a pretty big scale. This week on Dynamite, AEW announced four special editions of Dynamite which will air in the month of July. The events will run on July 7, July 14, July 21 and July 28, with the first show serving as AEW’s return to touring on the road, including having full capacity fans in attendance. Each of the four shows will have a special name, including a pair which will be part of the same theme. Here is the schedule: July 7 – Road Rager (Miami, Florida) July 14 – Fyter Fest Week 1 (Austin, Texas) July 21 – Fyter Fest Week 2 (Garland, Texas) July 28 – Fight For The Fallen (Charlotte, North Carolina) Road Rager will be taking plac..

WWE Is Going Back On The Road Even More Than Previously Announced

On the road again. The Coronavirus pandemic has changed the way the wrestling industry works, though things are finally starting to get back to normal. Possibly the biggest change that has taken place in recent weeks has been the announcement of WWE returning to touring with fans in July. It turns out that it will not just be the two main roster shows going back on the road. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the NXT roster has been told that they will be going back on the road in July. This will be a return to their Florida house show circuit known as the Coconut Loop, featuring shows with 200-400 fans in attendance. It is expected that Coronavirus vaccinations will be required as it is unlikely that a mask policy could be enforced in these markets. WWE has yet to announce any NXT live events. WWE Roster Undergoing Special Training Before Return To Touring

It isn’t a bad idea. The Coronavirus pandemic has changed the way the wrestling world works but things are starting to come back to normal. Both AEW and WWE will be back to a touring schedule over the summer, meaning that fans will be back in attendance for the first time in a very good while. That is going to be a big change and now WWE is trying to get its wrestlers ready. According to PWInsider.com, Vince McMahon has ordered the WWE roster to report to the Performance Center for mandatory workouts before they return to live touring in July. The workouts could begin as early as next week and will included drills and possible matches to sharpen skills. They will take place on days when wrestlers are not set to appear on television. Reaction to the workouts have been mixed, as some do not like using an off day for such workouts, while others feel that they need the extra practice. Everyone from main eventers to lower card wrestlers will be attending. WWE has announced that they will ..

Tag Out: Tag Team Splits Up On Monday Night Raw

Another one bites the dust. Tag teams do not have the best history in WWE. There have been periods where the division has thrived due to the amount of talent involved, but more often than not, there are only a few teams here and there. Unfortunately that is the case today as well, and now the ranks of the division have been thinned out even more, thanks to what seems like a split. This week on Monday Night Raw, Elias walked out on a Raw Tag Team Title match, leaving partner Jaxson Ryker to be defeated by champions AJ Styles and Omos. During the match, Ryker was ready to tag Elias, who dropped to the floor instead. Later in the night, Elias said he could not imagine the idea of riding with Ryker when WWE returns to touring in July. The two have been paired together since December 2020. What could have been.
