That’s a long time. There are all kinds of ways for a wrestler to be injured and you never want to see someone put on the shelf for any length of time. Some injuries can take place all at once while others are the kind of that build up over time. Both have to be taken care of though and now we know a bit more about a WWE star who had to go under the knife earlier this year. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: WATCH: International Star Announces He Is WWE Bound Back in October, Tommaso Ciampa revealed that he had undergone surgery to repair his hip, which has since been mentioned on WWE TV. Run it back? WWE has been undergoing a lot of changes in the last few months and those changes seem to be continuing for the time being. This includes some things that might have been prominent in NXT but are only starting to make their main roster debuts. Now another idea might be getting to showcase itself on the main roster for the first time in a long while (or ever, depending on how you look at it). One of the most common is an injury, some of which have been built up over time, leaving people wondering when the injured wrestler will be back. WWE does this on a regular basis and that is what they have done in two different ways with a pair of wrestlers, both of which were announced on the same television show. WWE seemingly wrote off or explained the absences of two wrestlers this week on Monday Night Raw. First, the Miz mentioned Tommaso Ciampa missing during a promo, with Johnny Gargano responding that Ciampa was not missing, but rather injured. The company is able to bring up wrestlers who have been appearing on national television whenever they want to but WWE has a bit of a strange habit of changing things up about them in the process. That seems to be the case again with an NXT legend. Tommaso Ciampa was officially called up to Monday Night Raw earlier this month and became part of the roster. Ciampa appeared on this week’s show when he attacked the returning Mustafa Ali. During the attack, Ciampa was referred to by his last name only, suggesting that his first name had been dropped. In addition, earlier on Monday, TVA Sports Quebec’s Kevin Raphael said that Ciampa had lost the Tommaso name. This comes after WWE has shortened over names in recent weeks. Good to see you again. There are certain things that you learn watching wrestling and one of the biggest is to never say never. No matter what is going on in the wrestling world, there is (almost) always a chance that it can be reversed. Someone can let anger go, a company could change its mind or something else could happen to get rid of an issue. That seems to be the case again. This week on Monday Night Raw, Mustafa Ali made his return to WWE television after a six month absence. Ali appeared during a MizTV segment in hopes of challenging Theory for the United States Title. Instead he fought and defeated the Miz, only to be jumped by Tommaso Ciampa after the match. Ali was returning after a hiatus due to a backstage argument with Vince McMahon over his character’s future, leading to Ali requesting his release from the company. Welcome to the team. There are a lot of people on the WWE roster, to the point where WWE can break them up into multiple groups. That includes individual rosters for Monday Night Raw, SmackDown and NXT. It can mean a lot when someone moves from one roster to the other, especially after it is a long time in the making. We got to see it again this week with a major name. This week on Monday Night Raw, Tommaso Ciampa was officially announced as the newest member of the roster. Ciampa appeared in a backstage segment where Ezekiel welcomed him to the show before Kevin Owens came in to yell at Ezekiel. This comes after Ciampa wrestled his last match in NXT at Stand & Deliver. That would be a big double up. There are so many wrestlers on the WWE roster these days that it can be difficult to find something for all of them to do. One of the best options is to put some people together and give them a common story in the form of a stable. That is something we are seeing again at the moment and now we might know some of the new names joining the team. According to Fightful Select, both Tommaso Ciampa and Rhea Ripley have been pitched as possible names to join Edge’s stable. These names are only pitches at the moment, which does not mean that they will be added to the group. Ripley has been having issues with her tag partner Liv Morgan while Ciampa recently wrestled his final NXT match. The only person to join Edge so far is Damian Priest. Four New Matches Announced For NXT Stand & Deliver

It can grow in a hurry. NXT has been shaken up in a lot of ways over the last several months but things seem to have settled down a bit now. A September relaunch gave us NXT 2.0, which is kind of like the classic version but not exactly. There are several things missing, including Takeovers, but NXT does still run major shows. They are doing that again soon and now the card has grown. NXT Stand & Deliver is scheduled for Saturday April 2 and four new matches were announced for the show on NXT this week. First up, NXT Champion Dolph Ziggler will defend his NXT Title against Bron Breakker, who he took the title from last week in a triple threat. Second, NXT Women’s Champion Mandy Rose will defend against Cora Jade. Next Imperium will defend the NXT Tag Team Titles against MSK and the Creed Brothers in a triple threat match. You can all but guarantee Bron Breakker defending the NXT Title against Dolph Ziggler, but they are going to need something a little bit better than that. Those two are in a tag match this week so let’s get to it. Bron Breakker/Tommaso Ciampa vs. Dolph Ziggler/Robert Roode Ciampa is in a Breakker style singlet here, which commentary calls Steiner-esque. Roode also comes out to the GLORIOUS theme for a flashback. It’s a brawl in the aisle to start with Ciampa hitting a big slingshot corkscrew dive to take out both of them in the floor. WWE Is Planning Several Crossover Angles Between The Main Roster And NXT

They have a plan for that. WWE has changed up the way their company roster looks in a series of ways and there is nothing to suggest that they are done. The biggest changes have come to NXT, which has been completely revamped over the last several months. This includes letting dozens of wrestlers go, meaning there are some gaps that need to be filled. WWE has a plan to do that using some extra help. Former NXT Champion Makes Surprise Return

Welcome back. NXT has been on one of the biggest rollercoasters in recent wrestling history and those changes continue to change. Several names have come and gone, with several of them making their NXT debuts. The roster looks nothing like it did back in its glory days, but there are still a few familiar names here and there. Now another one has made a surprise return to the show. The main event of this week’s edition of NXT featured Dolph Ziggler vs. Tommaso Ciampa in a match to crown the new #1 contender to the NXT Title. Late in the match, Ziggler was down with the referee checking on him, allowing a cameraman to hit Ciampa with his camera. After the match, the cameraman revealed himself as Ziggler’s partner and former NXT Champion Robert Roode.
