WATCH: Incredible Video On Ric Flair’s 50 Years In Wrestling (This Is Great)

Not many people can say it. There are legends in wrestling and then there are all time greats, who are the biggest names in the history of the industry. Those are the people that you hear about for years after their careers are over, but occasionally they reach that top level while still active. That is technically still the case with an all time great, and now we are getting a special look back at what he has done. This December, Ric Flair will be celebrating 50 years in professional wrestling. As a result, Flair has released a video looking at his entire career, including a look at some of the highest points. Also included are clips of Flair in action every year he wrestled, beginning back in 1972 and going all the way through his final match in July of this year. The video runs over an hour and forty minutes. This is pretty awesome. Update On Dolph Ziggler’s Contract Status. Is He Still With WWE?

So maybe? Right now, it’s not entirely clear what is going on with WWE contracts. Several wrestlers seem to be trying to get in or out of the company with AEW or elsewhere seeming to be a possibility. It’s hard to tell who might be sticking around and you never can quite tell who might be leaving as the contract statues seem to be up in the air. One of these situations is now even more confusing. Dolph Ziggler was interviewed on 98.5 Wrestling Inside The Ropes radio show and discussed his current contract status with WWE. Ziggler said that he was technically still under contract with the company but it was more of a handshake agreement that allows him to do other things outside of the company. This has been the case for about two years now. Ziggler’s last appearance with the company was the Royal Rumble back in January. Some things have gone better for Ziggler than others. Check out this rather painful moment from last year: [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: The n..

Superstar Shakeup Announced For Next Week's Raw And Smackdown

Raw and Smackdown rosters will be jumbled up a bit. During Raw, WWE announced the next Superstar Shakeup for next week and it will take place on both Raw and Smackdown between April 16 and 17. The shakeup is different from a draft because it revolves around talent exchanges instead of an entire overhaul of the rosters. The last Superstar Shakeup was a year ago. It's that time again... The #SuperstarShakeup BEGINS next Monday on #RAW! #RAWAfterMania pic.twitter.com/7ujoUfzLlP — WWE (@WWE) April 10, 2018 Even though the brands will be independent on the weekly shows, WWE has moved towards co-branded pay-per-views starting with the next event WWE Backlash, per WWE. Technically the brands will also be performing together later this month when the company heads to Saudi Arabia for The Greatest Royal Rumble. The last Superstar Shakeup saw two champions change brands and Sami Zayn follow Kevin Owens to Smackdown as they were feuding at the time. On Raw, announcers mentioned that A..

Vince McMahon Not the Primary Reason for Talking Smack’s Cancellation

It was reported last week via Sports Illustrated that one of the reason’s Talking Smack was canceled was because Vince McMahon was not a fan of the format, however those claims appear to be false.

Dave Meltzer received word from a source within WWE that the cancellation of the weekly show had nothing to do with Vince McMahon not liking the format but to do with the viewership numbers the show was receiving.

“Despite all rumors, Vince doesn’t hate Talking Smack. Also, he does not watch it but gets a weekly report about it every Wednesday. The one thing he didn’t like was when the New Day appeared right after Kofi (Kingston) got cleared (the 5/23 episode). That was technically their Tuesday night debut and Vince felt the first Tuesday appearance should have happened on Smackdown.”

As previously noted, the Talking Smack episodes will still air after SmackDown-brand pay-per-view events, as those numbers seem to perform well.

Gail Kim Reveals If She Is Returning to Impact Wrestling

Gail Kim recently did an interview with Kevin Eck of Pressbox Online. Here are a couple of highlights from the interview:

Tell me about the nature of your back injury and how you’re feeling now.

“My back was injured just basically from wear and tear over the years. Luckily, Impact has been so good to me in terms of letting me take time off to make sure I’m healthy and never making me feel bad about it. I’ve been ready to come back for a little while but [Impact Wrestling] has had some time off because we film a bunch of shows once a month or once every other month, so that’s the only reason why I haven’t been back in the ring, but I’m going to be back shortly.”

You’re not under contract with at Impact at the moment, correct?

“Technically, no, but I have a contract in hand. I won’t ever go anywhere else. That’s my family.”

Have you given thought to how much longer you’d like to wrestle?

“Those questions have popped in my head. We kind of incorporated it into the storyline, and I guess we teased [retirement]. People really thought I retired because we never really continued it or explained it; I just really got injured and never came back, so people assumed I was retired. I said, “No, you will know when I’m retired. I wouldn’t go away that quietly.”

Click here for the full interview.

Could A Major Swerve Occur At Backlash?

Thanks to the most recent episode of Smackdown Live, my interest in Backlash has reached new highs. Jinder going over AJ (even though he had help) has made me a believer that he really stands a chance against Randy Orton in their WWE Championship match. The Usos dropped one awesome promo on Breezango, and I absolutely loved it despite my ill feelings toward them. Even Erick Rowan showing just what kind of character he can be on Talking Smack has me excited for his match as well.

While all of these matches are intriguing, it’s the women’s tag match that has me intrigued the most. The newest babyface of Smackdown, Charlotte, will team up with Naomi and Becky Lynch to take on The Welcoming Committee of Smackdown Live. It’s weird to see Charlotte as a face, but it’s a nice change on a show where change is welcome. Natalya and company have made it clear that they do not want Charlotte here, and she shouldn’t be allowed a chance at the Smackdown Live Women’s Championship just because of her past accomplishments on Raw. Technically these women have a point, but they shouldn’t be fighting for the belt either so their opinion is invalid.

Something about this doesn’t sit right with me. Charlotte seems like the person who should be a natural heel, for her entire career. This is why I see Charlotte turning on Becky and Naomi at Backlash.
