Former NXT Superstar Retires from In-Ring Competition

Changing roles can be good sometimes. NXT Trainer and Coach Matt Bloom recently appeared on the ‘Real Monster Radio’ show, where he discussed a number of topics. One of them was the status of a former NXT superstar, now turned coach. Bloom had the following to say about Oney Lorcan: “My position now as a head coach, I oversee my coaches,” Bloom said. “I have an amazing staff. So, I gotta give props to those guys. Terry Taylor, Fit Finlay, Robbie Brookside, Norman Smiley, Steve Corino, Alexander Winkler, ‘Oney Lorcan’ Chris Girard, who just recently retired from being in the ring, Johnny Moss, and we have a few UK coaches that are on the cusp of being full-time coaches as well.” You can see the full interview below: [This post contains video, click to play] Lorcan was released from WWE in November 2021 but returned in October 2022 as a coach at the Performance Center. Editor’s Opinion: I always felt bad for Lorcan and his longtime partner, Danny Burch, because I feel like they n..

Impact Wrestling Results – January 5, 2023

Impact Wrestling Date: January 5, 2023 Location: Charles F. Dodge City Center, Pembroke Pines, Florida Commentators: Matthew Rehwoldt, Tom Hannifan We’re back after last week’s Best Of 2022 event with the first show of 2023. That means we are just over a week away from Hard To Kill and the card is mostly set. There is always room for a little more effort though and now we might be getting to do just that. If nothing else, getting some of the lower card built up should help so let’s get to it. In Memory Of Don West. Opening recap. Masha Slamovich vs. Taylor Wilde Deonna Purrazzo is on commentary. Wilde is in all black and apparently has a new attitude, as seen on Before The Impact. Purrazzo doesn’t think much of Wilde’s resume, asking how long it has been since Wilde was a champion. Fair enough really, as it was a long time ago. They grapple to the mat to start with Slamovich spinning out of a wristlock into an armbar. Wilde avoids a charge in the corner though and some choking has..

AEW Rampage Results – December 30, 2022

Rampage Date: December 30, 2022 Location: 1st Bank Center, Broomfield, Colorado Commentators: Tony Schiavone, Excalibur, Paul Wight We’ll close out the AEW year with this and as is often the case around here, Orange Cassidy is defending the All-Atlantic Title. This time though, it’s against his friend Trent Beretta. That could go in a few directions and on top of that, we’ll be hearing from Jon Moxley about something. Let’s get to it. In Memory Of Don West. Opening sequence. All-Atlantic Title: Orange Cassidy vs. Trent Beretta Cassidy is defending, Chuck Taylor/Danhausen are on commentary and Kip Sabian is on commentary. They shake hands for a good bit to start until Trent misses an armdrag. Back up and they run the ropes until Cassidy is hiptossed outside. Cassidy gets back in and sends him outside as well. Then they switch places again, with Cassidy being sent outside for the second time. Trent’s dive hits Chuck by mistake but it’s turned into a well timed Big Hug. Cassidy dives..

AEW Battle Of The Belts IV Results

Battle Of The Belts IV Date: October 7, 2022 Location: Entertainment And Sports Arena, Washington DC Commentators: Jim Ross, Excalibur, William Regal, Chris Jericho We’re back to another of these things and that does not offer the most inspiration. The series does not seem to be a priority for AEW but the action tends to be rather good. This is also a live show so maybe things can be picked up a little bit from its usual status, which would be appreciated. Let’s get to it. All-Atlantic Title: Trent Beretta vs. Pac Pac is defending and is still in the ring after wrestling in the 20+ minute Rampage main event. Trent has Chuck Taylor in his corner and wins an early slugout for a bit of a surprise. A running clothesline puts Pac on the floor and there’s the dive to take him out for a bonus. Back in and Trent hammers on the ropes, setting up a dropkick to take it outside again. A spear on the floor drops Pac for two back inside but he kicks Trent outside this time. The table is set up bu..

AEW Dynamite Results – August 3, 2022

Dynamite Date: August 3, 2022 Location: Schottenstein Center, Columbus, Ohio Commentators: Tony Schiavone, Excalibur, Taz We’re rapidly coming up on All Out but first we need to get through this weekend’s Battle Of The Belts, which is apparently a thing that is happening. So far there is one match announced and that means we will probably get the rest of the card announced. Whether that is in rapid fire or with more traditional announcements remains to be seen, but Excalibur is probably warming up his throat. Let’s get to it. Jay Lethal vs. Orange Cassidy Cassidy rolls him up to start and knocks Lethal up the ramp, setting up the lazy kicks. Lethal crawls away but it’s Satnam Singh waiting at the top of the ramp. Cue the Best Friends, with Trent on Taylor’s shoulders, to be taller than Singh, who leaves for no logical reason. With that HILARIOUS visual gag out of the way, we get back in and Cassidy hits a high crossbody but the tornado DDT is countered into a dragon screw legwhip. Ca..

AEW Dynamite Results – July 13, 2022 (Fyter Fest Week One)

Dynamite Date: July 13, 2022 Location: Enmarket Arena, Savannah, Georgia Commentators: Excalibur, Tony Schiavone, Taz We’re on the way to Death Before Dishonor and thankfully the build for that show hasn’t taken everything over like the Forbidden Door stuff did. It’s the first of four Fyter Fest shows and the Tag Team Titles are on the line as the Young Bucks defend against Swerve Strickland/Keith Lee and Team Taz. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. TNT Title: Wardlow vs. Orange Cassidy Cassidy is challenging, with the Best Friends in his corner (complete with managers’ licenses). They go with the test of strength to start and Cassidy puts his hands in his pockets….which are torn off by Wardlow. Now Wardlow’s straps come down….with Cassidy putting them right back up. The Powerbomb Symphony is broken up and Cassidy snaps off a headscissors but comes up favoring his eye. The referee checks on him, allowing Chuck Taylor to whip out A CHAINSAW. Believe it or not, that’s enough for an e..

WATCH: Sasha Banks Surprises Students In Amazing Moment

That’s something special. Wrestlers can be in a weird place when it comes to celebrity status, as while they are television stars, they are also stuck in the wrestling bubble. While that can keep them from breaking through to another level, there is quite the status for them right where they are. That was on display recently in a very sweet moment for a group of people. New York school teacher Victor Perry runs a wrestling club with his students where wrestling is used to teach life lessons. During their most recent meeting, WWE star Sasha Banks made a surprise appearance to meet with the students, take photos with her WWE Women’s Tag Team Title and sign autographs. Banks thanked Perry for having her and called him a great role model. The GOAT. ??? @SashaBanksWWE pic.twitter.com/9oYQeRjqyI — Victor Taylor Perry (@wallflowerperry) May 6, 2022 Made a special stop to see @wallflowerperry wrestling club. WRESTLING RUMORS: Money, Money: WWE Has Gotten Another Huge Payday For Very Little Work

That’s a pretty sweet deal. WWE has long since been the biggest and most powerful wrestling company in the world. They also make by far the most money, with a lot of that coming from the simple idea of renting out their name. The WWE name still means a lot in the way of promotion, and that was on display again recently, albeit to the tune of a six figure payday. WWE has been promoting an upcoming boxing match between Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano on its social media platforms. According to Sportico, the deal with DAZN, the company presenting the fight, has brought nearly $500,000 in to WWE. The deal was put together by Stephanie McMahon and the winner of the fight is being awarded a custom Raw Women’s Title. Ring Of Honor Final Battle 2021 Results

Final Battle 2021 Date: December 11, 2021 Location: UMBC Events Center, Baltimore, Maryland Commentators: Ian Riccaboni, Caprice Coleman It’s the end of an era and quite possibly the end of a company, or at least the end of the company as we know it to be. Ring of Honor is going into hiatus after this show for about four months, leaving a pretty big cloud over their future. I’m not sure what that is going to mean, but hopefully they can have a great show on their way out. Let’s get to it. Pre-Show: Six Man Tag Team Titles: Righteous vs. Shane Taylor Promotions Promotions (Moses/Kaun/O’Shay Edwar.ds, with Ron Hunt) are defending, with Dutch and Moses fighting over wrist control to start. Moses gets flipped into the corner, so he knocks Dutch outside in a hurry. Everything breaks down in a hurry and the three way brawl is on until it’s Vincent suplexing Kaun. That doesn’t work for Kaun, who is back up with a running elbow to the face. Moses comes back in and gets caught with a Side Ef..

WATCH: Surprising Return Takes Place On AEW Dynamite

Welcome back. There are a lot of wrestlers on the AEW roster and several of them have quite the fan base. Some of them pop up more often than not and that can make for some rather fun moments. It can be even better if someone who has been gone for a long time is getting to make a special return. That was the case this week and it was a heck of a surprise. This week’s edition of AEW Dynamite featured a tag team match between the Young Bucks and Chuck Taylor/Rocky Romero. After the match was over, the Bucks and Adam Cole continued attacking Taylor and Romero. Eventually a van drove into the arena and the returning Trent Beretta came in for the save. Beretta has been out of action since April after neck surgery. There is no word on when he will be returning to the ring. It was a cool moment. Check out the return, plus Trent back in the ring: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: This ..

WWE Tried To Bring In A Former Impact Wrestling Champion

It’s not for everyone. While it might not be the most popular at times, there is no denying that WWE is the biggest wrestling promotion in the world. The promotion is still the end goal for a lot of wrestlers, with several of them working as hard as they can to make it to the big leagues. That is not the case for everyone though, and that was the case with a fairly prominent name from outside the company. During a recent edition of her Wilde On podcast, former Impact Wrestling Knockouts Champions Taylor Wilde revealed that she was contacted by WWE to appear in the first Mae Young Classic. Wilde had been retired from the ring for six years but agreed to return to the ring for the chance. However, she got injured in training, meaning that she was unable to return to the ring. Wilde never appeared for WWE but did return to Impact Wrestling earlier this year, ending her ten year retirement. It makes sense that WWE would want Wilde on their roster. Check out what she can do in the ring: ..

There May Be Several New Free Agents On The Wrestling Market

See you down the road? The wrestling world has been all over the place in recent months and there is nothing to suggest that it is going to change anytime soon. That could make for some very interesting landscapes in the future, especially for the wrestlers who are going all over the place. It seems that might be the case for more wrestlers, but it might not be what it seems. According to PWInsider.com, five names have been removed from the Impact Wrestling roster page. The following names are no longer appearing on the page: Tommy Dreamer TJP Petey Williams No Way Taylor Wilde Dreamer is currently absent from television over his comments on a recent edition of Dark Side Of The Ring, while Williams is going through a tryout to be a WWE producer. However, Impact Wrestling has responded, saying that these wrestlers have not been released. It is not clear if they will continue to appear with the company going forward or not. You might not be seeing them again. Check out some of the nam..

Ring Of Honor TV Results – October 6, 2021

Ring of Honor Date: October 6, 2021 Location: 2300 Arena, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Commentators: Ian Riccaboni, Caprice Coleman I’m not sure what to expect from this show these days and that can be rather interesting. It’s never clear what you’re going to get and thankfully Ring of Honor knows how to give you the best out of everything they offer. If that can be the case again this week, we should be in for another fun show. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Violence Unlimited issues an open challenge for tonight. Danhausen comes in, realizes he’s in the wrong place, and leaves. We get a preview, minus Quinn McKay. Taylor Rust/Alex Zayne vs. Briscoes Rust and Zayne talk about being ready to step up against the Briscoes as Zayne is on his way to the World Title. The Briscoes tell them to bring it and be made famous. Rust and Mark start things off with the latter not being able to get very far off of a leg dive attempt. A headlock takeover works better for Mark but Zayne is right..

Impact Wrestling Results – September 2, 2021

Impact Wrestling Date: September 2, 2021 Location: Skyway Studios, Nashville, Tennessee Commentators: D’Lo Brown, Matt Striker We’re still on the road to Victory Road and that means more of Ace Austin, which is not a bad thing. Tonight we have Tommy Dreamer vs. Austin with Dreamer possibly being added to the World Title match if he wins. That’s the kind of threat that Impact might actually follow up on, which doesn’t give me much hope. Let’s get to it. In Memory of Daffney. That was a really hard one. Opening recap. Opening sequence. Madison Rayne/Kaleb With A K/Tenille Dashwood vs. Taylor Wilde/Rachael Ellering/Jordynne Grace Ellering and Kaleb With A K start things off with Rachael wrestling him into the corner without much effort. A release gutwrench suplex drops Kaleb With A K for two and it’s Grace coming in for some standing clotheslines. Rayne gets in a cheap shot though and Dashwood gets to come in and take over. Grace powers out of a chinlock by slamming Rayne backwards b..

AEW All Out 2021 Live Coverage And Results

All Out 2021 Date: September 5, 2021 Location: Now Arena, Chicago, Illinois Commentators: Jim Ross, Excalibur, Tony Schiavone We’re back to the still fairly rare AEW pay per view schedule with an absolutely stacked show. There are three major matches this time around, including CM Punk vs. Darby Allin, Chris Jericho vs. MJF and Kenny Omega defending the World Title against Christian Cage. Let’s get to it. Buy-In: Hardy Family Office vs. Orange Cassidy/Wheeler Yuta/Chuck Taylor/Jurassic Express Matt Hardy shoves Taylor into the corner because he wants Orange. He gets Luchasaurus instead so Jack Evans gets a rather fast tag. Luchasaurus sends Evans flying with a suplex and it’s off to Boy to send Evans into the corner. Quen and Yuta come in, with the former getting two off a running crossbody. We get the big sequence of most of the people trying a hold at the same time to as much avail as you would expect. Luchasaurus comes back in to throw people around, including a knee to the face ..

Several Changes Made To AEW All Out Card

Get your scorecards ready. We are less than a week away from AEW’s All Out and that means the card is all but ready to go. The company can still come up with a few changes though, and it can be made even worse if the changes are not something AEW exactly wants to do. That seems to be the case again, as three matches have been changed in the span of a day. AEW President Tony Khan announced that the scheduled All Out match between Pac and Andrade El Idolo has been postponed due to travel issues. While not confirmed by AEW, El Idolo is teasing a match against a mystery opponent at the pay per view. In addition, the Casino Battle Royal has been moved to the main card. Finally, a new Buy-In Show match has been added to the card, with Chuck Taylor/Wheeler Yuta/Orange Cassidy/Jurassic Express vs. the Hardy Family Office. Thank you to you fans supporting #AEWDynamite LIVE next on TNT! The Women’s Casino Battle Royale, which was booked on the Buy In, will now be featured on the ALL OUT ppv ca..

Impact Wrestling Results – August 12, 2021

Impact Wrestling Date: August 12, 2021 Location: Skyway Studios, Nashville, Tennessee Commentators: D’Lo Brown, Matt Striker We’re on the way to Emergence and that should make for a good pay per view, as tends to be the case around here. Other than that, it is time to crown a new #1 contender and I’m curious to see where they go. Impact has a lot of choices available for the title shot at the moment and that is a good place to be. Let’s get to it. The opening recap looks at AEW Dynamite, which set up Christian Cage vs. Kenny Omega for the Impact World Title tomorrow night on Rampage. Opening sequence. Tenille Dashwood vs. Taylor Wilde Dashwood has Kaleb With A K (in a neck brace) in her corner. Wilde works on the wrist to start and they trade a battle of wristlocks. Dashwood gets sent into the corner and grabs a frustrated headlock. That’s reversed into a hammerlock as the technical exchange continues. A headscissors sends Dashwood outside so Wilde tosses her back inside for a slam..

WATCH: Surprise Title Change Takes Place Over Weekend

That came out of nowhere. Titles are one of the most important ideas in all of wrestling, as well as one of the easiest to make work. You can throw a title on the line and instantly make a story that much more interesting, because any fan can understand the concept of someone wanting to become a champion. That was the case on Saturday and now something has changed. Saturday night at Impact Wrestling’s Under Siege event, Fire N Flava defeated Jordynne Grace and Rachael Ellering to regain the Knockouts Tag Team Titles. This is the second reign for Fire N Flava (Kiera Hogan and Tasha Steelz), at Hard To Kill on January 16 to become the first holders of the new incarnation of the titles. Their win makes them the first ever two time champions in either incarnation of the titles. Grace and Ellering had won the belts in their first match as a team at Rebellion on April 21. The Knockouts Tag Team Titles were originally introduced into Impact Wrestling in 2009 with Sarita and Taylor Wilde bec..

Former Champion Makes Surprise Return At Impact Wrestling Rebellion

Welcome back. It might be hard to fathom but Impact Wrestling has been around for the better part of twenty years. The company has seen a lot of talented people come and go over the years with several of them having multiple stints with the company. Some of these returns have been great and that seems to be the case again as another star from the past has returned. Former Knockouts Champion Taylor Wilde returned to Impact Wrestling during this weekend’s Rebellion pay per view. Wilde appeared following Deonna Purrazzo’s successful Knockouts Title defense over Tenille Dashwood to save Dashwood from a post match attack. This set up a staredown between Wilde and Purrazzo. Wilde’s return had been announced on Impact Wrestling, but no specific date was given. Wilde wrestled for Impact Wrestling from 2008-2010, during which she won the Knockouts Tag Team Titles twice and the Knockouts Title once. Since leaving the promotion, Wilde wrestled briefly on the independent circuit but has not wres..

Former Impact Wrestling Star Returning To The Company After Nine Years

Welcome back? The Women’s Revolution has changed the way the wrestling world works and those changes are not going to be reversed anytime soon. That is a very good thing, as the changes that have been made have been a very good thing for everyone involved. Women’s wrestling has come a long way but a lot of those things were set up many years before then. Now, one of those earlier names might be coming back. While it might not be what it once was, Impact Wrestling is still around today and still doing rather well at what they do. They run national television every Tuesday night and have been doing so for some time now. The company has a history, and the Knockouts division has long since been an important part of that history. A member of that division might be making a return to the ring. According to PWInsider.com, former Knockouts Champion Taylor Wilde is scheduled to return to the company after a nine year absence. There is no word on when she will be making her return. Wilde wrest..
