She’s In: Former WWE And Impact Wrestling Star Makes Surprise AEW Debut

She’s in. There are a lot of talented wrestlers in the world today and several of them are able to be seen on national television on a regular basis. It can mean a lot for someone to get their chance on a bigger stage and occasionally that is exactly what you get to see. It was the case again this week, as a former WWE star made their official AEW debut with a target already in sight. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: WATCH: Rey Mysterio Wrestles On Late Late Show This week’s edition of AEW Dynamite was held in Canada, with TBS Champion Jade Cargill issuing an open challenge to any Canadian. Cargill retained her title over Nicole Matthews in less than a minute, but after the match Taya Valkyrie debuted and attacked Cargill’s associate Leila Grey. Valkyrie is a former NXT star, where she wrestled under the name Frankie Monet, as well as a former Knockouts Champion. AEW President Tony Khan has since announced that Valkyrie is All Elite, suggesting she has signed with the company. Welcome to AEW,..

Pick A Side: More On WWE Hoping To Sign AEW Wrestlers, AEW Looking To Do The Same?

They have targets. The rise of AEW has changed the wrestling world, as several names have been given a chance to showcase their talents at a level they never could have otherwise outside of WWE. Those wrestlers have become stars in their own right, but at the same time, their futures are not forever tied to AEW. WWE has their eyes on some of them, and things could be getting interesting. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: WRESTLING RUMORS: WrestleMania 39 Will Be A Bit Different, Some Wrestlers Unhappy Earlier this month, reports began to surface that WWE was interested in attempting to sign AEW’s Kenny Omega when his contract expires. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, several AEW deals are set to expire this year and WWE is going to “go hard at everyone good”. There were no other specific names listed. At the same time, several WWE deals will be expiring as well, with AEW hoping to pick up some stars that they can. Again, there were no names listed on who AEW might go after or when those d..

They’re Next? WWE Reportedly Plans Callup For One Of These NXT Stars

That’s a big one. NXT is in a unique place as the television show is designed to be entertaining, but the wrestlers are there to develop well enough to be moved up to the main roster. It can be a career making moment for someone to get the call and it often comes after a huge match takes place. Now we might be ready to see what could be a huge promotion for someone. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: The Price Tag: Here Is What Vince McMahon Wants To Sell WWE Starting at Vengeance Day, Carmelo Hayes has targeted Bron Breakker and the NXT Title. While no match has been confirmed, Breakker has mentioned that it is the match people want to see. The Price Tag: Here Is What Vince McMahon Wants To Sell WWE

That’s a lot. The biggest wrestling story of the year thus far is Vince McMahon returning to WWE to steer the company towards a sale. That is the kind of move that can change the wrestling world forever as the new owners could completely reshape WWE into something very different. Now we know another detail that could change the entire sale process by eliminating some competitors. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: RUMOR: Ronda Rousey Up For Marvel Film Role According to Bloomberg, McMahon has targeted $9 billion as the selling price for WWE. This is reportedly 37% higher than the market value of $6.5 billion. The main potential buyer is said to be Endeavor Group Holdings, which owns the UFC, though they would likely need a third party to help them reach the purchase price. WWE has made no comments on potential buyers. WWE has done some money related things before. RUMOR: Ronda Rousey Up For Marvel Film Role

It might work for her. Wrestlers have a long history with acting as the theory goes that wrestlers are already acting so they might be able to act on screen. That theory has only worked on occasion though as many wrestlers have tried and failed to start acting careers. It hasn’t stopped anyone though and now another wrestler might be in line for a huge movie role. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: WATCH: Bray Wyatt Sets His Sights On Some Huge Targets According to Giant Freakin Robot, WWE star Ronda Rousey is up for the role of Thundra in the upcoming “Captain America: New World Order” film. The film, the fourth in the Captain America film, is expected to be released on May 3, 2024. There is no word on how close Rousey is to accepting the role or how big of a role it would be. Rousey has dabbled in acting over the years, including in the Fast And The Furious and Expendables franchises. Rousey is already successful in the wrestling world. WATCH: AEW Star Returns After Two Month Hiatus To End Rampage

There he is again. There are all kinds of reasons for wrestlers to take some time away from the ring, some of which have nothing to do with someone being unable to wrestle. Sometimes the departures are merely ways to advance a storyline and set up something down the road. That was the case this week, when a wrestler returned after a two month hiatus to set up a showdown. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: WATCH: Bray Wyatt Sets His Sights On Some Huge Targets The main event of this week’s edition of AEW Rampage saw Dustin Rhodes defeat Swerve Strickland via DQ when Parker Boudreaux attacked Rhodes. After the match, Keith Lee made his return to save Rhodes and end the show. This was the first time that Lee had appeared since December, when Strickland and Mogul Affiliates had crushed a cinder block over Lee’s chest. Lee also appeared clean shaven and his hair was gray instead of black. It was a big deal. Check out Lee’s return, plus what is back: [This post contains video, click to play] [This..

WATCH: Bray Wyatt Sets His Sights On Some Huge Targets

That’s a different way to go. Late last year, Bray Wyatt returned to WWE television after a year and a half absence. Since then, he has developed a still somewhat confusing relationship with a masked man named Uncle Howdy and defeated LA Knight in a match at the Royal Rumble. That still feels like a warmup for Wyatt, and now we might have an idea of where he is going next. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Slight Shift: WWE Reportedly Changed Plans For Trish Stratus’ Return, Still Set For Comeback This week on SmackDown, Wyatt and Howdy interrupted a Hit Row promo and took out the team. After, Wyatt said that he was back in control of his mind before bringing up Brock Lesnar vs. Bobby Lashley at Elimination Chamber. Wyatt said that whoever won the match should be ready to run, suggesting that the winner would be facing Wyatt at some point in the future. Neither Lashley nor Lesnar have ever faced Wyatt in a singles match. This could be interesting. Check out the comments, plus who Wyatt is comi..

REVIEW: Elimination Chamber 2014: No He Can’t Just Yet

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over ten years now and have reviewed over 5,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net, starting today. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be? Elimination Chamber 2014 Date: February 23, 2014 Location: Target Center, Minneapolis, Minnesota Commentators: John Bradshaw Layfield, Jerry Lawler, Michael Cole Tonight is the final big stop on the Road to Wrestlemania with six men possibly leaving with the WWE Championship. It’s actually a wide open field tonight with at least three people having a realistic shot at walking out with the belt. However there might be an even more interesting match on the card with the Wyatt Family vs. the Shield in a ..

We’re Getting Started: Backstage WWE Reaction To Vince McMahon’s Return, Changes So Far

And now, the reaction. We are in the middle of another huge change in WWE, as Vince McMahon has returned to the company after retiring from the company last July. The move came after a rapid fire change of pace, as McMahon and two hand picked partners returned to the Board Of Directors less than twenty four hours after announcing his plans. Now we are seeing the reaction to the whole situation. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Next Target: WWE Reportedly Interested In 40 Year Old Second Generation Star According to Wrestling Observer Radio, some who were previously supportive of McMahon in WWE have changed their stances about his return. However, so far the situation is described as “business as usual” with McMahon having not move back into his office and no reported plans for him to do so. There are also no current plans for changes among the company’s management, though that could change in the future. Change can be a good thing. Check out some WWE changes over the years: [This post contai..

Next Target: WWE Reportedly Interested In 40 Year Old Second Generation Star

On the radar. There are a lot of talented wrestlers in the world who have nothing to do with WE. Those wrestlers often grow a following and reputation of their own and that can be enough to get WWE’s attention. WWE will often go after wrestlers from other promotions and that seems to be what they are trying to do now with a pair of second generation international stars. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Farewell? Weekly Wrestling Series Seems To Be Coming To An End Earlier this week, New Japan Pro Wrestling held its annual Wrestle Kingdom event. During the show, Tama Tonga defeated Karl Anderson to become the new Never Openweight Champion. According to Fightful Select, WWE is interested in Tonga and has been for quite some time. There is no word on if Tonga is interested in leaving New Japan or when his current contract expires. Tonga is quite the star. Roman Reigns Targeted By 38 Year Old WWE Superstar

He could work. Roman Reigns has dominated WWE for over two years now, with one of the longest World Title reigns in company history. Reigns has run through just about everyone that has come in his path, which has not left him with many opponents left to come after him. WWE is going to need to look in a different direction to find a challenger and now someone is calling out Reigns. Reigns successfully defended his Undisputed WWE Championship against Logan Paul in the main event of Crown Jewel over the weekend. Following his victory, SmackDown’s Santos Escobar sent out a tweet, saying that he was acknowledging Reigns, but when the time was right, Escobar would be coming for him. Escobar debuted on the main roster in October as the leader of the Legado del Fantasma stable. @WWERomanReigns TRIBAL CHIEF!! Consider yourself ACKNOWLEDGED. When the time is right… I’m coming for you. ?????? #WWECrownJewel #SmackDown — SANTOS ESCOBAR??? (@EscobarWWE) November 5, 2022 Opinion: Sure why not. W..

BREAKING: Brock Lesnar Returns To WWE And Finds A New Target

The big one is back. There are very few wrestlers who become attractions. Rather than being around full time and wrestling week in and week out, a select few names become such stars that they are able to appear every now and then for special moments. WWE has a few of them and one of them made a surprise return this week, with a fresh target seemingly in his sights. Brock Lesnar returned to WWE this week, appearing on Monday Night Raw. Lesnar interrupted an in-ring promo from United States Champion Bobby Lashley before laying Lashley out. While not yet announced, there is a strong chance that this will be used to set up a match between the two. Lashley and Lesnar previously met at this year’s Royal Rumble, where Lashley defeated Lesnar to win the WWE Title. Lesnar last appeared for WWE at Summerslam. Opinion: Lesnar vs. Lashley is one of those dream matches that hasn’t been run into the ground as of yet. It would absolutely not surprise me to see this as the co-main event of Crown Jew..

Verdict Reached In Randy Orton Tattoo Trial, Amount Of Money Awarded

And that’s that. WWE has long since become the biggest wrestling company in the world and as a result the company has more money than they know what to do with most of the time. That is quite the accomplishment, but it also means that they have a target on them with others trying to take some of that money from them. Now someone is going to, but it might not be what they had in mind. Back in 2018, tattoo artist Catherine Alexander sued WWE, Take-Two Interactive Software and the developers of the WWE2K video game series. The suit was filed claiming copyright infringement over tattoos that Alexander created for Randy Orton, which appeared in the game. WWE and the game’s producers claimed that the tattoos fell under fair use while Alexander claimed that she never gave permission for the tattoos to be used. According to PWInsider.com, the case came to trial last week and the jury found in favor of Alexander, awarding her $3,750 but no royalties from the game sales. Opinion: It may sound ..

SmackDown Results – June 17, 2022

Smackdown Date: June 17, 2022 Location: Target Center, Minneapolis, Minnesota Commentators: Michael Cole, Pat McAfee Say it with me: and then everything changed. Vince McMahon has stepped back as WWE CEO and Chairman of the Board due to his affair but he is still going to show up this week for…something. I have no idea what that means but we also have Riddle challenging Roman Reigns for the Universal Title. Let’s get to it. Here is Vince McMahon to open things up. He is glad to be here in Minnesota and talks about the Then, Now, Forever and Together WWE signature. Welcome to Smackdown. Then he leaves. Opening sequence. Here is Riddle to talk about his history with Roman Reigns. We get a highlight package on RKBro vs. the Bloodline and Riddle talks about how much he misses Randy Orton. Riddle dedicates the match to Orton and wants him back, even playing Voices. Happy Corbin vs. Madcap Moss This is the Last Laugh match, which doesn’t seem to be a stipulation. Corbin knocks him into ..

NXT In Your House 2022 Preview, Predictions And Thoughts

This is the kind of show that NXT needs every now and then and thankfully they haven’t gone too nuts and done them every month. At some point you need to have a big, special show and this time around you have a fairly stacked show. Granted the main event might not be the most exciting, but at least the show is taking place. Let’s get to it. Women’s Tag Team Titles: Toxic Attraction(c) vs. Katana Chance/Kayden Carter This is one of those matches that is made a bit more interesting by the fact that Toxic Attraction has lost the titles before. As a result, it means that another loss is not out of the question, which opens up some doors. Granted I don’t know how wide those doors are, but at least there is an option. Toxic Attraction has held the titles longer than anyone in history, with their reigns lasting all but three days since late October. That’s quite the target and that should be a good thing here. I’ll go with Chance/Carter to win here, as they are one of the only women’s teams..

Welcome Back: Injured AEW Star Makes Surprise Return, Teases Big Showdown

They have a direction. A return can be one of the most exciting things in wrestling as you don’t know when you are going to see someone pop up again. It can make things all the more interesting out of nowhere, especially if it is something you have been waiting on for a long time. That was the case this week, as a star made his return and already seems to have a target. Rey Fenix made his return to AEW Dynamite this week and reunited the Death Triangle to take out the House of Black. While not confirmed, this would seem to tease a match between the two teams. Fenix has been out of action with an arm injury since January but has since returned to wrestling in Mexico. There is no word on when he is scheduled to wrestle again in AEW. Opinion: That is certainly great to see as Fenix was out of action for several months. The injury was so scary that I wasn’t sure how long he was going to be out of action but this seems to certainly be on the better side of things. Hopefully he can stay he..

WATCH: Sasha Banks vs. Asuka From SummerSlam 2020

Sometimes friends aren’t that helpful. WWE has posted a new video to its YouTube channel in which they show the full match between Sasha Banks and Asuka for the Raw Women’s Championship from SummerSlam 2020. You can see the video in its entirety below: [This post contains video, click to play] From WWE.com: The Legit Boss had a leg up from the opening bell, targeting Asuka’s knee that Bayley focused on in their earlier matchup. Banks looked set to cruise to an easy victory after hitting an incredible flipping powerbomb to the outside from the apron, dropping The Empress of Tomorrow with a sickening thud. But Asuka turned the tables, demonstrating her resolve with a top-rope missile dropkick despite her injured knee. Suddenly desperate and defensive, Banks pleaded with Bayley at ringside for reassurance. But Bayley was in the wrong place at the wrong time, and she moved out of the way to avoid the same hip attack that Asuka hit Banks within Bayley’s title defense earlier in the e..
