It’s something for them. There are a lot of wrestlers on the WWE roster and it can be difficult for the company to find something for all of them to do. No More: 53 Year Old Wrestling Legend Announces 2023 Is His Last Year In The Ring

End of the line? Wrestlers are a unique breed when it comes to athletics. While they are all athletes in one way or another, many of them top caliber, many of them do not walk away from competition like others are able to do. This is partially due to being able to get back in the ring for one more match, making it hard to finish up. Now one legend is ready to finish things up for good though. The main event of this week’s edition of AEW Dynamite saw Orange Cassidy win the All-Atlantic Title from Pac. According to PWInsider.com, Cassidy addressed the crowd after the show was over. Cassidy said “Canada, look what I did!” before saying that he doesn’t like carrying things and asked for his backpack. This brought out Kris Statlander appearing as a surprise to bring it to him. Opinion: This is the kind of thing that is..

AEW Champion Reportedly Injured During Rampage Tapings (Contains Mild Spoilers)

It can happen to anyone. An injury is the kind of thing that can take any wrestler out of action in the blink of an eye. You never want to see someone get hurt but no matter how well trained a wrestler may be, there is always the chance that someone is going to be injured. That might have taken place this week in a show that has yet to actually air on television. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, Wardlow suffered an injury, possibly to his leg, at some point during the taping of AEW Rampage Grand Slam. Wardlow teamed with Samoa Joe to face Tony Nese and Josh Woods. There is no word on if the injury took place during or after the match, though Wardlow was able to take part in a post match angle. The match will air this Friday night on Rampage. Opinion: Hopefully Wardlow isn’t too badly hurt, if he is hurt whatsoever, because you never want to see someone put on the shelf. Wardlow is still one of the bigger deals in AEW and it would be awful to see him miss time with any kind of a..

AEW Stars Get In Altercation With Fan At This Week’s Rampage Taping

That could have been worse for AEW. Wrestlers have a weird job when it comes to fans. At the end of the day, wrestlers are tasked with making fans believe that everything they are seeing is real, but at the same time, they have to listen to the fans either supporting or hating them. That can make for some complicated matters, and that seemed to be the case again this week at a television taping. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, there was an altercation between AEW’s Lee Moriarty and Stokely Hathaway and a fan at this week’s AEW television tapings. It is not clear if this happened during the taping or after the show was over, but it is not expected to make television. There is no word on any kind of injury or issues as a result. Moriarty is scheduled to face Matt Sydal on this week’s show. Opinion: This is something that happens every now and then and that is not something you want to see. What matters is that everyone is ok, because that could have been quite the disaster in no..

Coming In: Two Former NXT Stars Appear At AEW Dark Tapings (CONTAINS SPOILERS)

It’s their new home. While WWE gets the most attention in the wrestling world, there are other promotions throughout the world, some of which have their own national exposure. It makes sense for those promotions to bring in former WWE stars when they have the chance and that seems to be what has happened again. This time though, a promotion brought in two at once. AEW taped episodes of Dark this weekend at Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida. During the tapings, two former NXT stars made their debuts for the company. First up, Cole Karter, formerly known as Troy “Two Stacks” Donovan defeated Mike Orlando. This is Karter’s return to the company, as he wrestled eight matches before being signed to NXT. In addition, Parker Boudreaux also debuted, appearing with Ariya Daivari and Slim J, though he does not seem to have wrestled a match. It is not clear when these shows will air. Get Well Soon: AEW Star Misses Dynamite Due To Health Issues

That’s never good to hear. There are a lot of people who work for a wrestling promotion besides just the people you see in the ring. In addition to the wrestlers, there are also the people who help train the wrestlers but rarely get that much attention. Some of those names are famous in their own right though and one such name was missing in action this week. AEW star and trainer Dustin Rhodes announced that he would not be at this week’s Dynamite tapings in Savannah, Georgia as he was home sick. Rhodes did not specify what was wrong with him or suggest that he would be missing any additional time. In addition to wrestling, Rhodes works with the women’s division as a coach and trainer. His most recent match took place on the July 1 edition of AEW Rampage. Not at #AEWDynamite #FyterFest tonight as I am super sick at home. Y'all tune in to @TBSNetwork at 8/7 central. @AEW — Dustin Rhodes (@dustinrhodes) July 13, 2022 Opinion: That doesn’t sound great but hopefully he is back at ..

The Big Twist: Major Title Shakeup At NXT UK TV Tapings *CONTAINS SPOILERS*

That’s a big one. There are all kinds of wrestlers on the WWE roster and some of them are better known than others. With so many stars out there, it is difficult to keep track of everyone out there, as WWE has its roster split up into different groups. Now one of them is going to be on the shelf for the time being, which unfortunately has major title implications. According to Inside The Ropes, Ilja Dragunov was forced to vacate the NXT United Kingdom Title at this week’s television tapings. Dragunov appeared at the tapings in a walking boot and announced that he was unable to defend the championship. As a result, an eight man tournament to crown a new champion was announced, with the winner being crowned the new champion. There are no details on Dragunov’s injury. The announcement should air on NXT UK TV before the end of the month. Opinion: While this isn’t good to hear, it does explain a few things. Dragunov has not been around very much lately and has not wrestled in over two mon..

Longtime Referee Announces That He Is Taking A Step Away From Wrestling

It’s after a long time. There are a lot of people involved in making a wrestling match work, including some who do not get a ton of attention. One of the most important people involved is the referee, who is not often going to get noticed in a match, to the point where some promotions do not even bother naming them. Now one of the more prominent names in refereeing is stepping away from the ring, at least somewhat. During the latest edition of the Refin’ It Up podcast, Brian Hebner has announced that he is retiring from full time refereeing. Hebner announced that the upcoming Impact Wrestling Slammiversary weekend will be his last, including the pay per view and television tapings. Hebner made it clear that no one has caused him to step away, while saying that he is a single father and wanting to spend more time with his family. Opinion: I know a referee might not be the most important or well known part of a wrestling show but they can mean quite a bit. Hebner has been a pretty good..

William Regal And Bryan Danielson Offering Extra Training To AEW Stars

That’s a heck of a class. One of the things that you will constantly hear from veteran wrestlers is the importance of passing down knowledge to the new generation. At some point, these wrestlers have to tell the new crop of stars how to do all of this stuff and that is not something you often see. You could see it now in a pretty big place though, if the teachers would let you that is. According to Alex McCarthy of TalkSPORT, AEW’s William Regal and Bryan Danielson will get in the ring every Wednesday morning at television tapings and teach/work with younger wrestlers. Phones are not allowed but all wrestlers are welcome to attend and participate. Ricky Starks has confirmed that the sessions take place and says that Regal and Danielson regularly engage with him. Regal says he and Bryan Danielson arrive at AEW TVs and from 11am get in the ring to work/teach. No phones allowed. All the young talent are welcome to get in with them. Ricky Starks confirmed to me he's seen them workin..

Details On Tessa Blanchard’s Fallout With Women Of Wrestling, Original Plans

That could have gone differently. There are some very talented wrestlers in the world but there is often something that holds them back from reaching their true potential. That could be any of several possible options, and unfortunately they can prevent fans from seeing some very talented stars. It seems that is the case again, now with one of the more talented stars in the world. Earlier this month, Tessa Blanchard and Women Of Wrestling reportedly had a falling out, resulting in Blanchard’s relationship with the company and its owner, David McClane weakening. According to Fightful Select, Blanchard is no longer figured in to the company’s plans, including their initial television tapings, which were held last week. Blanchard’s association with the promotion was designed to be a rehabilitation project for her due to major promotions not showing any interest in her. The issues between the two sides began when CBS, Women Of Wrestling’s television partner, canceled a planned tryout mat..
