WWE Breaks All-Time Gate Record For WrestleMania 39

People are excited. WWE issued a press release today, stating that they have broken the company’s all-time gate record for any WrestleMania, despite having yet to announce a single match. The previous record announced was $17.3 million in 2016 at WrestleMania 32 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. From the press release: The record gate comes on the heels of unprecedented ticket sales demand for WWE in 2022, in which it produced the highest-grossing gates of all-time for Royal Rumble, Survivor Series and Extreme Rules. Clash at the Castle in Cardiff, Wales, which marked WWE’s first major stadium show in the U.K. in 30 years, was the highest-grossing U.K. event in company history. Additionally, WWE set in-market gate records for SmackDown and Raw events in more than 20 markets for the year, including the December 30 SmackDown, which took place in Tampa, Fla. and heralded the return of WWE Superstar John Cena. Don’t get your hopes up. There have been a lot of great stables throughout WWE’s history, with some of the better ones being around in recent years. It makes sense for a stable to be successful in modern wrestling, as there is a heck of a lot more television time for the teams to dominate. WWE name dropped a very successful stable recently, but a reunion does not seem likely. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: WATCH: Nikki Cross Teases Return Of Former Stable Earlier this week on Monday Night Raw, Seth Rollins and United States Champion Theory had a face to face confrontation. During their talk, Theory said that Rollins was the third most successful member of the Shield. This comes as WWE recently finished celebrating the ten year anniversary of the Shield’s WWE debut at Survivor Series 2012. This led to some speculation about a possible Shield reunion in WWE, but this is not likely at the time. More On Huge Upset This Week On AEW Dynamite Drew McIntyre has been out of action over the last three weeks due to a ruptured eardrum, with the injury coming during Survivor Series: WarGames. McIntyre was pulled from a Tag Team Title match against the Usos last week as a result but no return date was announced. However, Madison Square Garden’s official website is advertising McIntyre’s return on December 26 in an eight man tag, teaming with Braun Strowman, Kevin Owens and Sheamus against the Bloodline. NXT Date: December 13, 2022 Location: Capitol Wrestling Center, Orlando, Florida Commentators: Vic Joseph, Booker T We’re done with Deadline and that means it is time to start the rather long road to Vengeance Day in February. Deadline saw the crowning of new Tag Team Champions and a pair of new #1 contenders. That should give us some places to go for the next few weeks and we should be in for some fun, though maybe not so soon after Deadline. Let’s get to it. We open with a long recap of Deadline. Here is Roxanne Perez to get thing going….but Grayson Waller interrupts from the parking lot.
