There are several matches already set for the show but with two nights to fill, a lot more will need to be done. This can include matches that are not held under your typical rules, and now another one has been added to the card with some of the biggest stipulations WWE has to offer. With so much going on, it is time to start building up one of the most important nights of the year. On last night’s episode of AEW Dynamite, it was confirmed that FTR will defend their ROH Tag Team championships at the 2022 Final Battle event against their rival, The Briscoes, in a Double Dog Collar match. This came about at the end of Dynamite, following The Acclaimed’s successful defense of the AEW Tag Team Championships against FTR. Daniel Cormier Forgot The Ending To WWE Extreme Rules Main Event

He’ll get better at it. There are all kinds of ways to spice up a match and one of the most common is to bring in someone from outside to make the match feel more special. This could include anything from a stipulation to someone extra being included. Last weekend WWE included someone extra in a match but things almost went rather bad just before the match was starting. Last Saturday at WWE Extreme Rules, UFC Hall of Famer Daniel Cormier refereed the show’s main event between Seth Rollins and Matt Riddle in the Fight Pit. Cormier discussed the event on the DC & RC Show (the Extreme Rules portion begins around 3:30), revealing that he was incredibly nervous before the match began. The issue reached the point that Cormier even forgot the finish to the match and had to ask what it was supposed to be again. There is no word on if WWE plans to use Cormier again. WWE Likely Adds Two Stipulations To Extreme Rules

Add them on. WWE has a lot of major shows throughout the year and some of them need something extra to make them stand out. As a result, WWE has special themes for a lot of its shows, some of which are about as cut and dry as you can get. That includes next month’s Extreme Rules, which will be built around more violent matches. We ight have seen two more added this week. This week on Monday Night Raw, WWE added a stipulation to a previously announced match and likely added an entirely new match. The show opened with an exchange between Bayley and Raw Women’s Champion Bianca Belair. Bayley said she wanted their already announcement match at Extreme Rules to be a ladder match, which was made official later in the show. The final segment of the show saw Edge make his return and challenge Finn Balor to an I Quit match at Extreme Rules, though that match has yet to be made official. WWE Announces Violent Match For Extreme Rules

Tie them up. There are a lot of stipulations that can be added to a match to make it more personal. That being said, the tricky part is to figure out which stipulation fits in with which story. That can be rather difficult and you can see when something doesn’t quite work. WWE has a hit and miss record with picking stipulations, but this time they seem to have figured it out quite well. This week on SmackDown, Drew McIntyre announced that he had requested and been granted a strap match against Karrion Kross at Extreme Rules on October 8. This comes after Kross has jumped McIntyre from behind multiple times. McIntyre said that he wanted the match so he would know where Kross was at all times. The two then brawled with the strap tying them together. Opinion: WWE seems to have gotten it right here as this stipulation does fit the story that they are telling. Rare Stipulation Set For WWE Extreme Rules Grudge Match

That’s a big match. There are a lot of ways to present a feud in wrestling. It might be over a championship or something personal but there is often a lot of violence involved. This can often include some kind of a special gimmick or stipulation to take the feud to another level. It has worked for years and now it is happening again with a stipulation we do not see very often. Matt Riddle and Seth Rollins have been feuding for the last several weeks, with Rollins defeating him at Clash At The Castle when Riddle got too aggressive. The two have since cost each other matches and had to be held apart this week on Monday Night Raw. Rollins shouted that Riddle could pick the next match so Riddle said in the Fight Pit at Extreme Rules. The Fight Pit has only been used in NXT and features a cage around the ring with platforms on top. Opinion: They needed to do something big for the rematch and I like this more than some street fight or tables match or whatever. Sometimes you need to mix it ..

AEW Star Reveals He Is Out Of Action With Multiple Shoulder Injuries

Another one on the list. There are all kinds of wrestling matches but some of them can be very dangerous. While there is always the chance that someone is going to get hurt in a regular match, there are ways to up the danger by adding some kind of stipulation. Unfortunately it seems that another star was injured in one of the more violent matches of the year. In a new YouTube video from JOFO In The Ring, AEW’s Matt Menard revealed that he suffered a shoulder injury during the Blood & Guts match on the June 29 Dynamite. Menard said that he has torn parts of his shoulder, labrum and rotator cuff, but he will be able to rehab the injuries and avoid surgery. The injury took place during a spot with Santana during the match. There is no word on how long Menard will be out of action, though he has been appearing on AEW TV in non-wrestling segments. Take Three: New Grudge Match With Special Stipulation Added To WWE Summerslam

Put it on the card. We are less than a week away from Summerslam and that means most of the card is set. The majority of the show is ready and now WWE has to build up what they have. There is still a little more time to add something else though and that is what they did this week, as a new grudge match was added to the show. This time though, there is a bit of a twist. This week on Monday Night Raw, a No Disqualification tag match between the Mysterios and Judgment Day was added to the Summerslam card. The match was added after the Mysterios defeated Judgment Day in a regular match earlier in the show, only to have Judgment Day attack Rey Mysterio later in the night. This will be the third match between the teams, with the Mysterios having won the first two. Opinion: I’m not sure how much need there is to have this match added to Summerslam after the Mysterios defeated Judgment Day again this week. Maybe the stipulation can add in something new, but there is a very good chance that ..

The next step. Roman Reigns has ruled over WWE for the better part of two years now and it is hard to fathom that changing. Having defeated just about anyone who could give him a realistic threat, Reigns is almost out of viable challenges. That does not leave WWE many options, but it seems that their best bet is to go back to the well, which is exactly what they are doing here. This week’s SmackDown featured a main event of Reigns defeating Riddle to retain the title. Following the win, Brock Lesnar made his return and laid out Reigns with an F5 to end the show. After the show was over, WWE announced that Reigns will defend the Undisputed WWE Universal Title against Lesnar at Summerslam in a Last Man Standing match. This will be a rematch from WrestleMania 38, where Reigns defeated Lesnar to unify the company’s two World Titles. WWE Adds Multiple New Matches To Hell In A Cell Card

They got some more covered. We are less than two weeks away from WWE Hell In A Cell and the show is going to be built around its namesake matches. Those matches do not make up the entire card though and that means WWE is going to need to add in something else to make it work. That is what they have done this week, as more matches have been added to the card. WWE added two more matches to this year’s Hell In A Cell card during this week’s edition of Monday Night Raw. First of all, Bobby Lashley challenged Omos to a match at the show, which was accepted. Later, MVP defeated Lashley in a match to decide who would get to pick the stipulation for Lashley vs. Omos. That night on Raw Talk, MVP decided he and Omos would face Lashley in a handicap match. The second match will see Kevin Owens face Ezekiel, after Owens issued the challenge. We’ve Got A Match: Main Event Set For NXT: In Your House

There’s your big one. NXT has come a long way since its relaunch and that has been great to see for a lot of wrestlers, as well as the fans. What matters most is allowing more quality wrestling to be seen, which has often come in the form of some of the promotion’s bigger shows. That will be the case again next month, and now we know what will be headlining the card. This week on NXT, an NXT Title match was announced for the June 4 In Your House special. NXT Champion Bron Breakker agreed to defend the title against Joe Gacy, with the stipulation that Gacy will win the title if Breakker gets disqualified. This will be the second match between the two, after Breakker defeated Gacy in a previous title match earlier this month at NXT Breakin. Opinion: This has been quite the weird feud between the two of them and I’m not sure how much they need to have another match. Vince McMahon Wanted WWE Title Match At WrestleMania To Last Two Minutes

What could have been. There are a lot of wrestling events throughout the year but nothing really comes close to WrestleMania. Making it to WrestleMania is one of the highest points that a wrestler can achieve and it means a lot for them. Getting to be in a major spot on the show is an incredible moment for a wrestler’s career, but two legends almost got their spot cut down. During a recent edition of Talk Is Jericho, Chris Jericho talked about his WrestleMania 28 match against CM Punk for Punk’s WWE Title. The feud between the two involved Jericho attacking Punk and insulting his family, as well as pouring alcohol down his throat. This caused Vince McMahon to plan the match to last two minutes, with Punk getting disqualified for attacking Jericho, as McMahon thought would make sense. As a result, the match had a stipulation added where Punk would lose the title if he was disqualified. Punk would defeat Jericho at WrestleMania and then again in a street fight at Extreme Rules. Maybe? Two More Matches Added To AEW Double Or Nothing Card (Kind Of)

The card continues to grow. AEW has an interesting pay per view schedule, in that they run quarterly events rather than a pay per view every month. That allows their events to feel a bit more special, as the fans are asked to wait longer between each event. We are less than a month away from their next offering and now we know a little bit more about what to expect from the show. On Sunday May 29, AEW will present its spring pay per view event on Sunday May 29 over Memorial Day weekend. This week on AEW Dynamite, a match was announced for the Double Or Nothing Buy In Show and another match might have been announced for the card itself. On the Buy In Show, the team of Hookhausen (Hook and Danhausen) will face Mark Sterling and Tony Nese. On the proper Double Or Nothing card, Wardlow is expected to face Maxwell Jacob Friedman. However, Friedman listed some stipulations that Wardlow has to achieve to make the match happen, including taking ten lashes and defeating Shawn Spears in a cage..
