The roster grows. WWE has a roster with enough talent to fill up three weekly television shows, but those wrestlers have to be kept moving. At some point the roster is going to get a bit stale and needs some fresh blood, which is why WWE also brings in fresh talent every so often. Now they are doing that again, this time from other sports outside of professional wrestling. A sign of things to come. We are getting close to the end of the year and that means we are getting close to the start of the Road To WrestleMania. Next year’s WrestleMania will take place in southern California and should be one of the biggest events in WWE history. That is next year’s event, but WWE is already thinking about the following year’s WrestleMania and took a big step towards it this weekend. On Saturday, WWE held its annual Extreme Rules pay per view in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the home of WrestleMania 40. Before the show, WWE officially unveiled the logo for WrestleMania 40. The logo is designed after the Liberty Bell and features the show’s Roman numerals, which has been missing over the last several years. “Mr. Wonderful” Paul Orndorff Passes Away At Age 71

We have some sad news to report today, as WWE Hall of Famer “Mr. Wonderful” Paul Orndorff has passed away at the age of 71. From WWE.com: Orndorff was a standout running back at the University of Tampa and joined Mid-Southern Wrestling after a brief stint in the World Football League. Early rivalries with Jerry Lawler, Ted Dibiase and Jake “The Snake” Roberts gave way to NWA North American Heavyweight and National Heavyweight Championship reigns. Orndorff joined WWE in 1983 and was tabbed with the “Mr. Wonderful” nickname by his then-manager “Rowdy” Roddy Piper. With his awe-insipring in-ring style and umatched swagger, “Mr. Wonderful” turned his talent into a prototype for the modern-day Superstar. He made a memorable debut on January 23, 1984, with a win over Salvatore Bellomo at Madison Square Garden and launched right into the main event picture with matches against World Heavyweight Champion Hulk Hogan. He made the following remarks about it:</p><p><em>“I gotta be honest, when I told them kind of what I was looking for, cause as much I’m from the southern part of the United States, I’m not that much of a country <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/tag/music/" title="music">music</a></strong> fan. Do I like it? Sure. But not that much. So I was like ‘Alright, just that little bit of country, but I love rap. So we’re gonna have to find a way with a cool beat.’ And they found a way to make it work for me. I don’t know that they had made that song specifically for me because I think it was made in NXT. But I think it fit me like a glove. Now I can’t imagine any other music I’d walk out to. It’s great man, I can’t say enough good things about it. It worked. I don’t know how or why it just did.
